OOC: Farewell for now!
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to put something here to say first, I’ve really enjoyed writing with you all and I’m really sorry to have to drop conversations/threads. I received news recently that my father did pass away, it was very unexpected and I’ve been having a difficult time remaining on track with a few things in life right now. I feel like at this time it would just be best for me to step away from the group, I’ve appreciate how all of you have made me feel a part of the group and it’s hard for for me to step away because I’ve enjoyed writing with you all so much. I just am having a hard time staying connected to Damien, and I don’t know when I’ll be able to be present once more.
I’ve loved writing with Damien with everyone here, and I’ve appreciated everyone who has been patient with me as I’ve been going through things. This group is honestly, very supportive, and it’s full of creative writers. I’d love to write with you all once again some time later down the road.
Until then, I just want to say thank you for everything <3Â

[pm] Just tell me what you need.
Vengeance is not a purpose, it is a drive. Through my vengeance I found purpose. Perhaps you can, too.
[pm] I think I actually have an idea about how you might be able to help.
Don’t get your hopes up. Vengeance is enough for me.Â

[pm] Were or are? I will help you track them, if that is what you want.Â
I had nothing else to do. Everything had been taken from me, burned down in the house I grew up in, so vividly I still remember the smell of my family’s burning flesh. I hunted down everyone responsible and at the end of it I still had no family and then I also had no more purpose. I was nothing.Â
[pm] Were. And I know more will be coming back. If you want to help then, I won’t turn you away.Â
Are you telling me the truth? I don’t know if I should Sounds like you had a purpose - for a time. I guess it’s a good thing I don’t need to be anyone, anymore. I just want to be someone they are afraid of. I want them to know what brought me to their door. I’m not exactly role model material.Â

[pm] So you know some of them are in town, then?
I killed everyone I wanted to in order to fulfill my vengeance. It brought me nothing.
[pm] I know some of them were.Â
Why did you do it then? I don’t have anything left to lose, so I guess having nothing to gain is the same.Â

[pm] If there were other wolves in town, Damien, I assure I would know, and I would tell you. There are passerbys, but no pack has been in town for quite some time.Â
So it is vengeance that you seek, then. I walked a similar path.
[pm] They didn’t come in a group. They didn’t leave either. I expect more will follow though.Â
Yeah, it is. You don’t seem like you’re on the war path anymore.Â

[pm] My apologies.
All the wolves I know of in this area you do, too. If there is nothing to tell, why speak?Â
Then why do you seek to harm them? What good will killing them bring you?
[pm] Then you and I know different wolves.Â
Because they killed my family. Actually, no. I don’t have a reason to tell you th I don’t even have a reason to trust you.
They took away the only thing that mattered to me. The only thing I had to care about. They don’t get to just walk away from that better than ever, and I’ll be damned if they get to do it to anyone else.

[pm] She still has her phone.
You have not asked for help so far. What is that you want me to do, Damien? I love all wolves, yes, but sometimes they need to be taught a lesson. They changed you and abandoned you, why would I stand for that?
[pm] That’s not as fun.
I asked for your help in locating the bastards, if you knew of wolves in the area I thought you’d of let me know. You’ve been quiet.Â
I’m not interested in just teaching them a lesson. I’m not pissed off because they left me for dead, I wouldn’t have joined them even if they had asked nicely. Â

[pm] University. For…football. Not the American one, though. I forget what it is called here.Â
Why would I not? I told you I want to help you, Damien. That has not changed, despite your absence.
[pm] How am I to write her then.
Why would you? You haven’t helped me so far. I didn’t think you’d take kindly to my intentions, knowing who they were against. Much less wanting to know more.

[pm] She is not. I am surprised you are still here, though, if I may say. No luck?Â
[pm] Do you know where she actually went? Not for a lack of trying, on my part. I did have some luck, actually. Not sure you want to hear about that though.

My Own Monster ll Solo
Time: Two Years Ago
Location: White CrestÂ
Summary: Damien wishes he could sleep like the dead.Â
The screams were so loud, shouts and cries of agony tore past trees and filled the forest with a symphony of pain. Damien was running towards those screams. Despite his best efforts to close the distance, reach the source of the cries, he didn’t seem to grow any closer. Night stretched out before him and obscured any notion of progress. All he could observe were the screams.
Stop.
Sharp teeth nipped at his ankles, demanding Damien’s attention. He knew who was pursuing him, even before he looked over his shoulder. Molten eyes pierce the night, a familiarity sparks and sears his veins, an understanding he can’t forget. Damien sprints forward, pushing his body to its limits.
Stop.Â
The wolf snarls the word once more before its teeth break skin, catching Damien’s ankle in its jaws and dragging him to a stop. He hits the ground hard, fully prepared to push up from the surface to chase the source of the screams again, but fangs dig deeper, lodging into bone.
You cannot save them, stop running.
“No!” Damien turns on the monster, tears fur from its face, struggles against its hold. “They’re dying, let me go!” It doesn’t. He slams his knuckles then against the wolf’s jaw, but teeth only sink deeper.
You’ve already lost this fight.Â
Hatred burst from him in ragged curses and spits of anger. The wolves had severed his link to his humanity, permanently fucked up his DNA and cursed him to be the very same breed of monster that had devoured his family. But he had always been a monster, hadn’t he? That’s why no one had picked him, why he had been abandoned and outcasted. Damien had learned the bitter taste of loneliness, became accustomed to it, until someone came along and offered him a family. Then he had learned love. The wolves had taken that.
The screaming stopped.Â
“Why can’t you leave me alone?” The question scraped its way up Damien’s throat, he felt like he’d been the one screaming for hours.Â
Why do you treat me like a stranger?Â
They both knew who he was.
The wolf’s jaw unhinged and Damien made a slow descent to the clearing in the woods, it had felt like it had taken him hours to reach it before, but now it was mere steps away. Even now, a small hope remained hidden that this time would be different. The scene he found was one he was all too familiar with. Blood drenched the landscape, his family had been broken and scattered into parts. Damien’s heart constricted, everything in him hurt.
A large black wolf stood in the center of the carnage, looking down at a broken figure. Damien heard a labored, uneasy rasp, watched as the man beneath the wolf drew in a strained breath.Â
Then he woke up.

That’s very sweet of you. I have a set of matching hat and scarf that’s a deep verdant, forest green. I think that will suit you quite well and I definitely think it will succeed in keeping you warm out there. [user attaches the address for Sew La Ti Do]. I’ll be there with your scarf and hat waiting!
.
Green, huh? Green will be my new favorite color then. I’ll be by Wednesday then, after I’ve had a chance to clean up after work.Â
