Can we talk about Hatano from Zettai BL? There's just not enough discussion out there on Tumblr except for the live action that just isn't the same. In the live action it is seen that the MC gets involved with what the world is throwing at him, the manga MC is very experienced at avoiding trouble and remaining a MOB character.

Even with Hatano who is a long game runner now. I am absolutely with everyone else: We love Hatano! We want MC to fall victim! But that would be bad writing. MC has an identity and he is strictly unattracted to guys. We don't know what he's attracted to, or if anything at all, but he is very confident about his thoughts on men. Though one could argue it's more the superficiality of how the BL relationships are made that he's disgusted by. And he really doesn't have an attachment to Hatano, nor do we have any backing as to why Hatano falls for MC apart from "he was nice to me once". So where does that leave us? Will the author give way to fans and have the pair end up together? It is an unrelenting BL world afterall and MC is becoming much too detailed to stay MOB. I mean, he's been called Main Character and Protagonist since the beginning. But how would that happen without going through one of the many cliches of BL stories they've already written about? There's no way around the cringe without being hypocritical. To continue the story MC will need to end the flag eventually. I am just so curious.

My gut tells me they will show whether Hatano is for real or not with one gesture: When they can announce MC's name.

No matter what you do BL will find you! But guy, this comic is full of yaoi moments. It attracts the yaoi-loving audience. Your going to get MCxboy fandoms. I am personally super curious to see how the author ends up terminating this flag even though we are all getting very attached to Hatano.

I haven't really watched the live action version but I have read the manga and I have to say I do not agree with how people interpret Mob's character.

When I read this it reminds me ALOT of Saiki K, from the wacky situations to the MC. A lot of people say that it's a story of a guy denying his homosexuality. I personally think that he is simply the most aroace character I have ever seen (other than maybe Saiki and Senku from Dr stone)

Sure, he says he straight but we don't see him try to find a girl or even get a crush on a girl. And on the other side, he sometimes says a man is handsome to describe how a BL situation might happen. 'A handsome man like that guy is definitely a MC' kind of thing. But I don't even remember him blushing from a dude and I just reread it all. He doesn't seem flustered when the guy who sat next to him obviously liked him, like always he was annoyed and somewhat confused.

He is in love with food and cats which in my opinion is a very aroace thing to do (from a aroace person) He basically manipulates the people around him to make sure they don't fall for him or make a 'flag'. When Ayato's friend confessed to him, he chased after him to reject him (this is after not getting flustered or even flattered at all, if anything he was panicking because he couldn't see a way out of it) and when he couldn't catch up created a elaborate scheme to make the boy fall in love with another highschooler. That is the aroace life style.

Rice as the protagonist can't even make it front and center. Out of every complaint I have for the Mean Girls remake the worst is they couldn't even make Cady the main character with this terrible casting choice. Everyone else was great and could have been salvaged if Rice wasn't so unlikable in the film.
