Stubborn Males: An Elucien Fanfic

Happy Elucien week everyone!!!! and happy day 1 (which just happens to be my birthday 🥳 🎂🎉) I hope everyone enjoys the story!

Prompt: Mates

Synopsis: Elain tends to an injured Lucien

If Elain Archeron lived a thousand more years, she still didn’t think she would ever get used to the stubbornness of males.

She sat in a little chair in the corner of the kitchen next to her mate, Lucien Vanserra who winced when she touched his injury.

“I told you I could have done it myself.” She sighed, observing the deep cut on his palm that would need stitches. Luckily for him, Elain had learned a thing or two about stitching a person up in the past couple of years. Her father had always claimed that she was a jack of all trades and she was begging to believe him.

“I was trying to help you.” Lucien reminded her as Elain fought the urge to roll her eyes.

“By slicing your palm wide open?”

“I thought you would appreciate the sacrifice.” Lucien joked as Elain gave him a leveled look. This was a serious matter

“You’ll need stitches.” She mused, taking the wine she had boiled to disinfect his cut.

He hissed, gritting his teeth as she grabbed the needle to start on his stitches. He grabbed the liquor beside him and drank deeply as she fought back a sigh.

“I appreciate that you tried to help, but maybe next time you should stay away from the sharp objects.”

“I’m inclined to agree.” He answered sitting back in his chair.

When she finished the stitches, she assessed her handy work. Glad that her stitching had improved and that the wound would heal in no time.

Lucien grabbed her hand with his uninjured hand as he gave it a gentle squeeze, giving her a smile that reminded her of the warmest sunrise.

“Thank you, Mate.”

She smiled, leaning forward to press a kiss to his mouth, feeling his grin underneath her lips as she answered.

“Anytime.”

As someone who stands with victims, I would like to thank Cassie Ventura for the courage and bravery she displayed in coming forward in the first place. It’s not always an easy task for survivors to come forward with their experiences and face their abusers, but she did so, and thanks to the courage she displayed by coming forward in the first place, she helped give a voice to the other victims of Sean Combs who felt as if their voices had been silenced. And even though the system has failed not just her, but the other victims, we must not forget the sacrifices they made so it was possible to get here. Now the world sees him for who he is, now he can no longer live in the shadows and hide who he is. And we have her and the others to thank for that.

For Gwyn, this rings true. It’s been her story so far.

In the darkness of her mind, alone in the training ring at night, even among Azriel's shadows, something new is being built. She’s growing, becoming more sure of herself. She’s taking the broken pieces of her life and forging something new. Something stronger.

I thrive in partnerships, and my heart leaps with joy when I connect.

Emotional blocks, not being open to receiving love. Healing past trauma.

This card is about romance and love, as well as the unity of like-hearted individuals (hello, mates!!). It can also signify the beginning of a deep friendship. The perfect pairing of matched souls has the potential to grow into a magical and intoxicating entanglement of twin flames, or the merging of paths that will remain forever intertwined.

This card immediately made me think of Gwyn and Azriel. They’re building a friendship now that could become so much more. But love only grows if you let it. If you stay closed off, you can push it away without even realising it. I think that’s their biggest obstacle – learning how to open themselves up to accept the love they both deserve.
