As a woman, I feel like femininity is an art that you learn through the year but it’s also hidden deeply within us. it flows naturally from our own selves, we just learn how to tap into that part of ourselves.

Five Tips for Losing Weight:
Watch where you get your information:
I would be extremely careful following the advice of girls who have gotten gastric bypass/VSG surgeries or any type of surgery to do with weight loss. I followed a lot of girls who seemed to be magically thin and I thought it was very unfair that they'd tout the fact that they'd lost a huge amount of weight in a very short time and rarely ever talk about their surgery. It wasn't sketchy to me because I could find that information about them after a while but losing 200 pounds in 8 months is completely unrealistic unless you've had surgery. I'd also be careful when it comes to following their advice for meals, especially when it comes to fasting. When you've had your stomach surgically altered due to excessive weight, you don't need as many calories or as much nutrients as someone who hasn't. I followed the fasting plan of a girl who had VSG and I didn't eat for 3 days and drank minimal water because that's what SHE did to lose water weight. While it worked for her, it didn't work for me and I passed out at a ballet lesson.
Don't leave room for arguments around food:
I am eating a salad today, it will have bacon and cheddar cheese, it will have hardboiled eggs, I will put ranch dressing on it, I will add cherry tomatoes, grilled chicken, raw mushrooms, chopped raw red onions, and I'll have the special croutons made from garlic bread that I love. This will be my lunch, I will enjoy myself, I will eat it and enjoy every bite, and that's that. I don't leave room for arguments with myself about food anymore, I don't try to convince myself to not eat a meal that I know I deserve and will enjoy, it's lessened my anxiety and now I'm able to go out and eat and enjoy meals that I can eat without any residual stress or anxiety. I've become acquainted to using to-go boxes and having leftovers, I don't force myself to eat when I don't want to, I don't count calories, and I stop eating as soon as I feel like I can't eat anymore and feel satisfied.
Learn how to walk:
I love walking, it's easier than jogging, it's fun, and it gets you places. Walking 10,000 steps daily is essential, it gets you moving and it gets you healthy, and it gives you a goal to reach. If you're only walking 2,000 steps per day, try doubling it to 4,000 and slowly moving up from there to 6,000, then onto 8,000, and finally the big 10,000! It's easier to start out with a small goal and take small steps towards that goal than to start high end burnt out, if you start small and actively work towards something, you'll achieve it before toy even know it and be able to keep a steady pace. Walking is less high impact than running, it's still very healthy, it's a method of transportation, you don't need any fancy equipment, and you can walk absolutely anywhere you'd like to walk. Be it in nature, at a track or gym, to get to a location, or otherwise. I personally choose to wear ankle and wrist weights while I'm walking, you can get them at T.K. MAXX for under £11 and they help build strength whilst being barely noticeable. I sometimes carry hand weights to work out my arms and get them toned faster.
Don't stop eating dessert, healthy it up:
I don't believe in quitting sugar completely because I'd rather eat it in moderation than refuse to eat it in public and end up binging it in private. It's a part of everyone's lifestyle, I don't believe anyone can truly quit sugar forever but there's a way to cut down on it and a way to lessen your portions so you can continue to make healthy choices and maintain your healthy lifestyle. Instead of having the triple layer caramel tiramisu, try having a simple small bowl of vanilla ice cream with sugar free chocolate and caramel syrup, instead of having half an apple pie have a small piece of apple cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, substituting healthier options leads to a more productive lifestyle and it makes sense, you'll never be able to cut out sugar completely and, to be honest, it's better on you and on your mental health to eat things that you enjoy in moderation and not restrict yourself and fall into disordered habits when it comes to eating. It's healthy to crave foods and you can satiate those cravings by having control over how much you eat and making healthier decisions when it comes to what you decide you want to eat.
Learn how to dress for your body shape:
It's not that you look bad in all clothes, it's that you don't know how to dress for your body shape and the clothes that you've been choosing won't suit you because you're a pear and they're meant for an apple. I wore baggy shapeless clothes Until I realise that I was an hourglass and that I should be bringing attention to my 3 main points (breasts, waist, butt) instead of hiding them behind billowy shirts and baggy skirts that made me look heavier. Once I learned to dress for my figure type, it was easier for me to go out and choose clothes with confidence, nothing looked bad on me, some things just weren't made for me. It was easier to step into a mall and walk past some stores (Garage, Brandy Melville, Francesca's) because I knew that the clothes they were offering wouldn't flatter me and go into other stores (Aritzia 🥺) because I knew that the clothes there suited my body type and would flatter my figure nicely. I also completely stopped shopping at the stores meant for plus size women, I'd been shopping at Lane Bryant for a majority of my life and when I lost the weight, I was finally able to open my eyes, look into my closet, and realise just how much I absolutely hated Lane Bryant. Old Navy, Tanger Outlet, T.J. Maxx, and Marshall's all have a wonderful selection of clothing for affordable prices and it's easier to shop when you know what you're looking for. Avoid anything oversized, go for fitted outfits. You'll find that there's a style, a haircut, certain colours, a makeup style, and a whole range of clothes that all for you wonderfully.

Summer solstice honey cakes ☀️🌻
Tumblr media
Happy summer solstice! Here’s a recipe to honour the day:
(Makes about 30 cupcakes or 2 big cakes)
Ingredients:
Cake:
450g plain flour
225g butter
4 tbsp honey
150g sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
4 eggs
250 ml milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Icing:
150g icing sugar
20 ml water
1 tsp cinnamon
As much honey as you want
Lavender (optional)
1. Lay out cake cases or grease your tray if you are making one big cake and preheat your oven to 180C/350F
2. Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt together
3. Add the eggs, honey, butter, milk and vanilla extract and mix until smooth
4. Put the mixture into whatever you are baking it in
5. Bake for 20mins (cupcakes) or 40mins (big cake)
6. Whilst cakes are baking prepare your icing. Mix together the icing sugar, water, cinnamon and honey until smooth. Add more water if you need to.
7. Once the cakes are done, take them out and leave to cool
8. When the cakes are cool, drizzle the icing onto them. Add lavender if you wish
9. Eat!
