What do you love most about being maverique?

the freedom.

the freedom from the gender binary, to not be bound by any such categorisation, to have all of it bounce off me because it doesn't apply.

the freedom to carve out my own gendered path, to paint my blank slate, to be able to be creative with my gender.

none of these things are necessarily exclusive to maveriquehood, but they feel inherent to and inseparable from my gender.

this freedom also have dark sides, but i'd rather be a weird and lonely but authentic maverique than to water down my gender for the comfort of those invested in the gender binary.

the freedom is what i love most.

Left: Mulberry transmaverine. This is a transmaverine person that presents in a way that looks traditionally "soft masc" but has an entirely autonomous, outherine form of expression. Presentation for a mulberry transmav may stay within the neutral-to-masc range but never overly masculine and never with the intent to call it masculine.

Right: Blueberry transmaverine. This is a transmaverine person that presents in a way that looks traditionally "soft fem" but has an entirely autonomous, outherine form of expression. Presentation for a blueberry transmav may stay within the neutral-to-feminine range but never overly feminine and never with the intent to call it feminine.

I was inspired to make flags based on local forageables and mulberries were the first thing I thought of. There are a handful of others I want to try making in the near future, but I need to find some good plant graphics for them. I actually wanted the blueberry one to be blackberry instead, but I couldn't find something that matched the mulberry in art style.

Other ideas I had for future flags: Wood sorrel, honeysuckle, dogwood, spicebush, nettle, dandelion, and clover. Those are all edible!

Could you make null and nuetral in nature versions of your ninxeno ninxenomav and ninxenoutherine flags based off of the nningender flag?

Nninxeno -> Nninxenomav -> Nnxenouther

I added some colors from the nningender flag and darkened the other stripes a bit. I wasn't sure how much of the nningender flag you wanted me to use so I just simply tweaked the colors of the existing flags I made.

Okay! (I’m the one who asked about the multiple requests). My request is for the making of flags, and new names for, if you don’t mind, the following definitions below!:

The first one is for someone who is both niaspec/ningender and xiaspec/xingender. It’s basically xensari except it excludes being liaspec/lingender.

The second one is someone who is niaspec/ningender, xiaspec/xingender, and mviaspec/mvingender. It’s xensmavri (by @/neonpronouns), but again it’s without being lia/lingender.

And finally, the last is the same as the second one except it’s being ouiaspec and ouingender in place of being mviaspec/mvingender!

If the names could be in a similar vein as xensari/xensmavri, I’d appreciate it! ^^ Thank you in advance for the hard work, and I look forward to what you put together! 🖤🖤

Ninxeno: A gender that is both ningender and xingender at the same time.

I made a xeutrois flag a while back and borrowed the symbol from it for the flag on the left, but I also have one with the regular xenogender symbol here.

Ninxenomav: A gender that is ningender, xingender, and mvingender at the same time.

Two options again, this time turning the symbol on one of them into something reminicent of this maverique symbol (the comet one right at the top.)

Ninxenouther: A gender that is ningender, xingender, and ouingender at the same time.

I used my xenoutherine symbol for the left one. Really digging the colors on these.

A suprabinary flag? It's supragender×binary

Here's some supragender flags :) (You only requested supra-binary, but I thought I'd make flags for other genders as well.)

One thing I'm having a bit of a problem with is the names. Because supra- ends in A, and a lot of genders begin with A, there can be situations where two different terms end up having the same name. Like supra+binary and supra+abinary would both end up being "suprabinary" (unless you spell supra+abinary as "supraabinary", but that doesn't really work).

I'll list the names with dashes for now (in the same order as the flags are listed).

supra-binary, supra-boy/guy/man/male, supra-girl/gal/woman/female, supra-nonbinary/enby/enban, supra-abinary, supra-atrinary, supra-androgyne, supra-agender, supra-aporagender (or alternatively, supra-apora?), supra-maverique, supra-neutrois.

If anyone has any ideas for the names, feel free to make a comment/reblog (or ask).

I also wonder if supra-masc and -fem might be good ideas, though masc and fem are more gender qualities rather than just genders.

Now time for the part about the flags' designs, I generally chose the colors based off of their respective flags (the exception to this is binary and the two binary genders variants. I didn't use any particular flag as reference, just used blue for guys and pinks for girls, and both for binary.) I did also reuse colors from the original supragender flag and between flags. (So like reusing using the yellow instead of picking a new yellow).

The original supragender flag has a off white background, two grey rays, and yellow/green. I decided the two grey stripes would be the best places to put the colors, though for some all stripes had to be replaced. The green and yellow I left to represent the "exceeds" and "extends past" part of the definition, though the off white could also serve this purpose. (I do not actually know what the original flags stripes/colors mean, so I don't actually know what specifically any of those colors are supposed to represent). For some flags, green and yellow were already used colors (like in abinary), in those cases, I prioritized the style of the gender flag, and add green, yellow, or white stripes at the top if there was room.

Do these work? I'm open to suggestions.

Apaverique Pride Flag

Apaverique or apamaverique (apagender maverique, inersmaverique, or anvismaverique): maveriques who are gender apathetic; personally considering oneself to be maverique while apathetic or societally indifferent towards gender in general or in-person; maverine gender apathy; a maverique folk who doesn't care what people presume about their gender to be.

Not necessarily amaverique or maverique-apathetic. See also cassmaverique.

Some specific intergender flags

I made these all in late June 2024 as part of my review of intersex flag mashup techniques, and only now realized I never posted these specifically to Tumblr (Whoops! 😅)

These are all flags for specific intergenders (genders that are influenced/connected to being intersex). They all take the most common flag for the combining gender and add intersex yellow stripes to the top and bottom. 💛

Inter-xenogender................ inter-agender................... inter-bigender

inter-genderqueer................. inter-neutrois.......... inter-trigender

inter-neutralgender..... inter-genderapathetic........ inter-maverique

Inter-maverique is maverique in a specifically intersex way, inter-genderapathetic is gender apathy that is specifically connected to being intersex, and so on. 💜

I am under the impression that all the source flags used here for intergender mashups are public domain on the basis of Threshold of Originality. My mashups are all public domain as a result. 💛

I have.... 130 maverine genders to compile onto one Wiki (which is currently in the works and you can see it here.) This does not include referential terms (mav, uni, mavan, etc.) or trans- terms like transmav, transneumav, etc. but those will also be added.

I only have about 14 maverine orientations on my list so far but still, that's far more than I had expected.

You folks are doing such an amazing job. These terms are abundantly helpful for filling in the gaps. Keep it up!

If anyone would like to help out with the Maverinities Wiki, feel free to let me know. I've been doing a lot of this sort of work by myself which isn't so bad, but it's very slow.
