Honestly say about Lars Ulrich‘s drumming what you want, and yeah sure he can be an annoying little gremlin sometimes too I guess all Metallica fans can agree on that but apart from that I won’t tolerate any Lars slander 😤☝️ no seriously though especially people who say "it should’ve been Lars" can catch these hands 🫨👋 if it wasn‘t for Lars Metallica wouldn’t even be called Metallica, if it wasn‘t for Lars running all over LA and getting in touch with producers and radio DJs etc. they wouldn’t have gotten their song on that Metal Massacre compilation CD that basically got them their first local fanbase, and it was also due to Lars‘s good connection to the producer of those compilation albums that he got the tip to check out a band called Trauma that was coming to LA because he told him they were looking for a new bassist as Ron McGovney wanted to leave. It was Lars who dragged James out to the Whiskey that night in autumn of 1982 where they first saw Cliff. And it was also Lars who got Cliff‘s phone number and who called him relentlessly until he finally agreed to leave Trauma and try out for Metallica (under the premise they relocate to the San Fran Bay Area). I honestly think some people who always just reduce Lars to his drumming skills fail to recognize his absolutely crucial impact in getting the band started and putting them out there on that path that eventually got them to where they are.

My own fault trying to reason with a Zionist that calls referencing an article about the treatment of Ethiopian Jews „weaponization“ and „left-wing antisemitism“ 🤡 I genuinely cannot, how warped can one‘s world view be and what complex do you have to suffer from to read the wish to destroy ALL Jewish people out of THAT like talking about social disparities in Israel that have been reported on many many times = weaponization = root cause hate for Israel = for which the true root cause is according to them hate for Jewish people and the wish to kill them all???
Send help for real
As I’ve said before I never ever criticized Israel until after I went to Israel myself in late 2019-early 2020 on a guided educational roundtrip to several parts of the country and talked to Israeli Jews, Palestinians with Israeli citizenship and even stateless Druzes in Golan Heights. Also I have working eyes and ears. I heard a derogatory comment about an „Arab“ myself. I didn’t know what it was then, but I went through a checkpoint and it was SCARY even without knowing what they are there for yet. It wasn’t hard to see something is heavily off there. *Going to Israel* was the initiating factor for me to get into this. And the way you still get called "antisemitic" for speaking about this is CRAZYYYY.

Read something earlier about Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie‘s roles in Fleetwood Mac and like I know all about the backstory of rumours and what was going on behind the scenes of that album and in general like the whole thing with christine and john and stevie and lindsey and then stevie and mick but I never really was aware that after all the breakups, all men of FM went off to have children with other women nonetheless while both stevie and christine chose to remain childless because of their careers and experiences. I wasn’t even aware of the fact that just after it ended with lindsey and mick stevie was on and off with don henley of the eagles all throughout the late 70s and actually was pregnant but had an abortion because she felt she would’ve had to give up her career for being a mother and put a pause to touring and recording for months on end which she wasn’t ready for. and like i get that. there’s an interview with stevie from a few years ago where she said she believed that if she and lindsey hadn’t joined FM as a package deal, they probably would’ve gotten married and had children. there’s also an interview with lindsey where he’s saying he believes his decision to have a family with someone else might have impacted stevie‘s later behavior towards him and basically said oh she went down a different route and prioritized her professional career and didn’t have children while I married the love of my life and have been married for 21 years and have had 3 kids which is the best thing that ever happened to me and she just doesn’t get what that’s like so yeah this is another perfect example to add to the never ending list of men being entitled and not recognizing their privileges like I’m sure stevie and christine would’ve been ready to be *fathers* too because it’s just not the fucking same

Honestly it’s been 11 years since I *exclusively* got into classic rock and 50s-90s music in general and I’m still baffled how I love it just as much as in the early days like i feel SO STRONGLY about this music you either get it or you don’t 😩

wait so apparently lana del rey made a post adressing the texas flood yesterday and originally in either the caption or as a comment that i since can't even find anymore on that post she wrote that "we're praying for palestine every day. i wish for peace between all nations and am constantly up on all of the news between the israel-palestine-conflict. it's always difficult to watch any innocent victims killed by crimes of war." and also said her "greatest wish" was a peace treaty and that "politically, i do keep up and have been very much hoping for a ceasefire."
WHAT A FUCKING SPINELESS CENTRIST "BOTH SIDE" BULLSHIT APPEASEMENT POST
i used to listen to her a shit ton from 2012-14 and i genuinely dont care if any of those hardcore fans come for me who still havent grasped how problematic she is, from the mesh mask during the height of covid, that instagram post calling out other women who are allowed to have sexual lyrics while she felt she got scrutinized and condemned for hers, francis bean cobain having to chime in at one point telling her to stop romanticizing dying young, if i remember correctly her signing a celebrity letter thanking joe biden for his handling of the gaza genocide in late 2023 and ever since her silence for the past 20 months.
and the people still defending her like "she doesn't have to comment on every single thing" AS NINA SIMONE SAID, AN ARTIST'S DUTY IS TO REFLECT THE TIMES.
and the way she still calls it a "conflict" and fails to mention WHO EXACTLY IS THE PERPETRATOR OF THOSE CRIMES OF WAR and of course don't expect her to use the word OCCUPATION and provide historical context, it shows that she isn't ACTUALLY keeping up, it's a performative statement, IT IS NOTHING TO APPLAUD FOR. NOTHING. a ceasefire is only step 1 to stop the mass killing now but won’t stop the killing in general. also she's a fucking millionaire with a huge platform, she CAN do more than "praying every day" and also who the fuck is we? certainly not her southern conservative husband who had been caught sharing transphobic posts? THE BAR IS IN FUCKING HELL. some of y'all will literally be happy with the dumbest bullshit and applaud celebrities for simply upholding the status quo.

Literally just heard the news about the firework factory explosion in california from a few days ago and the comments (mostly made by grown ass males as always) were so fucking disgusting calling an 18 year old kid "illegal alien" and questioning his iMmIgRaTiON sTaTuS or delegitimizing the fact he was only 18 because his girlfriend of the same age is pregnant like he JUST got the job there like IT WAS HIS FIRST DAY so that he could start saving for the baby and as if that wasn’t enough two of his brothers were also working there and were among the dead it’s half a family wiped out from one day to the next like they died in a factory that makes sure those bigot dumbasses can celebrate their colonizer holiday and still have THE NERVE to ridicule them in death i genuinely hate this world so much

Omg wait a second I read about it over a year ago in an article in a leftist online paper about young black Ethiopian Jewish men/teenagers who had sought refuge in Israel and got treated like literal dirt instead (also the fact some women were given contraceptive shots against their will and knowledge to keep them from reproducing and that was only 12 years ago) and that there were several cases of israeli military and police shooting them dead then claiming it was self defense or them going missing and turning up dead and even though their families tried to fight it and saying they wouldn’t have done that it got filed away as "suicides" and there also was the case of an ethiopian jewish man named avera mengistu who was reported to have been mentally unstable by his family who just wandered off from his home in a poor low income neighborhood in south Israel not far from Gaza one day and the border patrol guards on the Gaza fence just let him pass into the Strip but made clear he did it out of "his own free will" even though it’s one of the most surveilled borders in the world according to reports and there he was promptly noticed and arrested then interrogated by Hamas. Even though his family reported him officially missing and human rights organizations called for his release or negotiations NOTHING happened for 10 years. Prisoner exchange demands were apparently met with no reaction from Israel either. Hamas posted on their twitter account "Obviously, the real Israeli motto is 'leave no Ashkenazi man behind'." Benjamin Netanyahu was prime minister from 2009-2021 and again since 2022 to today.
The man’s family stated over and over again they felt like the israeli authorities were hiding something from them. Some officials put emphasis on the fact he passed the border willingly. His case also got little public attention in Israel in general, whereas the case of captive soldier Gilad Shalit from a few years prior received widespread attention in media.
The Ethiopian jewish community in Israel apparently was made to feel alienated again post-oct-7 when faces and names of the new hostages were plastered literally all over the country and the media, but avera‘s name was nowhere to be seen when they called to "bring all hostages home." Activists involved in his case have been saying his case highlights the inequalities faced by non-white Jews in Israel perfectly. They were ostracized for bringing him up because "now is not the time."
TODAY while randomly remembering this case again and googling I just found out this way he actually is still alive and has FINALLY been released 4 months ago as part of the first phase of the then-ceasefire deal!! But there is almost NO ARTICLES about it in israeli and international media. Genuinely insane. Hope he and his family are reunited and somehow heal from the trauma.

The fact it’s been 21 months and I’m STILL outrageously mad or crying 24/7 over what’s going on in Palestine 🫠 I know many other people have said this but it seriously irrevocably changed me as a person, my relationships to those around me and how I go through life

i'm genuinely so tired of people showing certain protests in israel as an "argument" like "see even israelis are against this" like BE SO FOR REAL MOST OF THEM THEY ARE NOT if its photos or videos of a protest where the protesters are holding up 839720 israeli flags its still a ZIONIST PROTEST they are calling for an end to the "war" by now too yes and they are also criticizing and turning against their government yes BUT IT IS NOT BECAUSE OF THE GAZA GENOCIDE OR THE GENERAL TREATMENT OF PALESTINIANS FFS its because those people are unsatisfied with the results of the genocide and they've also realized by now the world is watching them and knows what's been going on and that this "war" cannot be won anymore the way they would've wanted it originally. but the reality still is, and they've said it themselves over and over, just recently again i've seen it in a newly released documentary, that in israel the military and civilian life is closely connected, the weapon lobby is currently booming in israel too, more and more civilians are carrying guns now next to the immense army-presence that's there anyway, hundreds of thousands are army reservists and hundreds of thousands currently are actively serving in the army because of a mandatory military service which is STILL highly considered a moral and good thing there too by wide parts of society. ACTUAL refuseniks get thrown in military jail alongside palestinians and become targets and outcasts. follow mesarvot, follow b'tselem, follow voices against war. these are the *ACTUAL* LEFTISTS IN ISRAEL THAT *ACTUALLY* ARE PROTESTING AND OPPOSING GENOCIDE AND OCCUPATION AND EVEN PUTTING THEIR BODIES ON THE LINE FOR IT. you won't see them carrying israeli flags. and they say about themselves that they still are a minority in israeli society. they report all the time how they get attacked by other jewish israelis and that most times even authorities refuse to protect them. god damn in that recent documentary i saw (which was about israeli women arming themselves, its on youtube by french-german channel ARTE btw) they showed one israeli woman who was a leftist and accompanied her to a protest and they were maybe 20-30 people in the streets, they got threatened by police, their protest was being manipulated by police, and random bypassers were swearing at them and insulting them and one elderly woman even told them - ON CAMERA IN FULL VIEW IN FRONT OF THE POLICE WHICH WASNT DOING SHIT - that "gaza has to be eliminated and turned into ashes and dust and all of you [the leftist demonstrators] with it! there is no innocents!"
so stop it with the normalization of israeli society by brushing over the wide spread fascism and racism that is interwebbed in it, "people are not their government" is not applicable in this case, because israel has had a right wing government almost all the way through for DECADES and they are always emphasizing how they are "the only democracy in the middle east" so lets finally hold them accountable for THEIR ACTIONS.
