Just updated my Ao3 profile and realised it’s old enough to legally drive in the US. 😂
Got it in March 2010 and the user ID is four digits long.
Reblog with when you got your Ao3 account and how long your user ID is.
#December 2009#four digits#although admittedly that's my old username#distressednoise is seven digits

Unfortunate problem with Andor S1 - and it remains one of the few SW properties I still dearly love - is that it is entirely designed around a discomfort with Cassian's line "I've been in this fight since I was six years old" and what that would imply retrospectively, morally, for the Rebellion for a contemporary audience that is distinctly discomfited by the figure of the child soldier, when the child soldier ceases to exist metaphorically or fantastically (e.g. Chosen One narratives, or its centrality to YA, which we understand in genre terms as essentially fantasy) and starts to exist realistically (as it might have in Andor, in a "realer" representation of where and how child soldiers are recruited outside of a modern slavery context). Not to mention that according to the timeline, this would put Cassian's "fight" beginning against the Republic and would also mean reckoning with the original story of his father protesting Republic militarism, which would then also further put the claims of the Rebellion to want to reestablish the Republic under scrutiny, further undermining its moral purity in the eyes of the viewer. Oops.
