Another movie so bad it’s good. Well I’m being generous on that note. I guess with a low budget they did the best they could.Director and producer Bert I Gordon who was known for his movies in the fifties like The amazing colossal man 1957,war of the collosal beast 1958, earth vs the spider 1958, and attack of the puppet people 1958. Used a princess called macro vision that magnified animals and people in shots. About a year after Good of the Gods, Gordon directed and produced Empire of the Ants. Starring Joan Collins ( low point in her career) In the case of Good of the Gods it starried Marjoe Gortner, Ida lupino,Ralph Meeker, Pamela Franklin,and Belinda Balaski.Giant Rats, a big rooster head, big worms and wasps. Food of the Gods made a lot of money for American international in 1976. Sure the special effects were pretty hokey and embarrassing. But nevertheless a fun movie to watch. I hope none of the rats were killed during filming . I am an animal rights person and the scenes showing the rats being picked off by rifles was disturbing.

Possibly the best bad movie by the late Al Adamson the director and producer of some of the most off the wall exploitation movies like Nurse Sheri,Female bunch, Brain of Blood,Blood of Ghastly Horror, horror of the Blood Monsters. Dracula vs Frankenstein 1971 was the last movie of horror veterans Lon Chaney JR and J Carroll Naish.Also starring John Bloom as the Frankenstein monster, Zander Vorkov as Dracula. Angelo Rossito as a sinister dwarf,Regina Carroll as the victim, Anthony Eisley,!Jim Davis,Greyson Clark, Russ Tamblyn and Forrest J Ackerman in a small role as a victim. A good score by William Lava recreating the soundtracks of the old universal monster movies. The Director Al Adamdon was Murdered in real life by a contractor working on his house, that was ripping him off. Although not a classic, Dracula vs Frankenstein is a favorite of mine, but very sad to see Lon Chaney and J Carroll Naish at a low point of their Careers. By the way the late Regina Carroll was married to Al Adamdon, And she starred in many of his films. He also made an appearance in the beginning of the movie watching her perform in a faux Las Vegas act in the movie. The fact about this movie is it was supposed to be a sequel to satans sadists with Russ Tamblyn but at the last minute Adamson made this a monster movie instead. So Russ Tamblyns part was reduced. I would say for a 1971 PG rated Schock movie. It’s so bad it’s good.

The ultimate monster mash up. Destroy All Monsters. 1968 the American international dubbed version that is. Imagine all the kaiju monsters in one epic movie. Godzilla,Rodan,Mothra,Manda,Aspiga,minya, gorosaurus, Baragon, Varan, and angilus . All being controlled by space aliens that want to conquer earth. Until the plan backfires and the monsters are on the earths side. So what do the aliens do? They unleash King Ghidetah the 3 headed flying monster to fight Godzilla and company. Oh come on, really ? Actually I won’t say who wins . But in the past Godzilla, Rodan, and Mothra sent Ghiderah packing. Anyway the American international version is the best one as far as the dubbing . I first seen this on chiller theater wpix tv channel 11 in New Jersey, As a kid. I wouldn’t call it a chiller movie, but more of a monster sci fi movie. But it’s one of the best kaiju movies from the late 1960s. Second to monster zero., which was done a year earlier with Godzilla and Rodan vs Ghiderah.

This movie rocks! Humanoids from the deep 1980 by Roger Corman,It may be a low budget monster movie but it’s awesome. Vic Morrow, Doug Mclure, Ann Turkel,Hoke Howell, and Greg Travis. Now they did a remake in 1995 but it was so so. But I would put this in a double bill with piranha 1978.Humanoids is about genetic mutant fish men that terrorize a small fishing town in California . Sure sounds alit like jaws but not so.It’s what I would call a great b- movie. I must’ve watched this more than a dozen times. I especially like the soundtrack music by the late great James Horner.The ending is very gruesome. And still holds up today as it did in 1980. Thanks again to Roger Corman for giving us another great monster movie.
