You think when gojo was training his infinity technique, he still had his slip ups where he actually did manage to fry his brain a little, resulting in a prolonged migraine? And then reader chimes in to take care of him to ease his pain?
considerate — gojo satoru x f!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
satoru's feet are dragged behind him as he walks into your shared dorm. the familiarity of the room welcomes him and he feels his shoulders relax just a tiny bit.
on his path to perfecting his infinity, the strongest sorcerer was bound to slip up. unfortunately for him, slip ups like these—no matter how tiny—would cause the worst migraines of his life which he is currently experiencing.
for a moment, he can’t find you, and he would like to dramatically call for you. but the migraine is limiting theatrics for now.
he knows you’re here, but he can’t see your figure yet and it bothers him.
he rubs his eyes a little harshly with a groan while his hand runs through his hair, “y/n, where are you?”
he hears your feet pad on the ground before he is finally met with the sight of you.
and despite the pain and how much he wants to close his eyes and drown everything out, he really wants to see you. a small smile—albeit pained—appears on his pretty face as he pulls you close, mumbling, “missed me?”
you pull his face towards your own and press kisses to both of his cheeks, “I always do, you know that,” your hands cover his eyes gently and his own hold yours to press them closer to his face.
he sighs, leaning further into your touch, and you frown, “tough day?”
“something like that,” he mutters, “fried my brain just a little.”
your hand moves to stroke his hair—he whines, but quietens at the feeling of your fingers carding through his hair—then you tease him, “careful, pretty boy, keep that up and you will really live up to your dumb boy reputation.”
he grins down at you. “you think I am pretty?”
“of course, that’s what you will focus on,” you grumble then move to sit on the couch. you think he will lay his head on your lap as usual with his enormous body stretching on the couch, but he doesn’t.
instead, he sits on the ground between your legs. he buries his face in your stomach and his arms wrap around you.
“’toru, I have to get you a cold wrap.”
“no.”
“you should at least drink some water so your migraine can get better.”
“I already feel so much better.”
“satoru, are you telling me that simply burying your face in my stomach is enough to magically heal you?”
he pulls away slightly to grin at you, “are you the one having the migraine?”
“no, but I am the responsible one—“
“exactly, so let me hug the love of my life,” he cheekily says before kissing the pulse point on your forearm, “thank you.”
you grumble causing him to chuckle, but he quickly goes quiet once again.
your hands are gently massaging his scalp and he lets out a soft sigh.
considering what he went through, you guess that he will probably fall asleep in a while, but then he speaks up slowly, “I…wanted to show you this new trick with my technique.”
“oh?”
he nods and continues, “I managed to teleport.”
“really? that’s awesome, ‘toru!” you beam, hands never stopping their movements.
“exactly!” he quips then grumbles, “and I wanted to teleport to that place you like so much, but I can’t right now and it’s so lame!”
this is one of the things people tend to not notice about satoru. he is an annoying idiot, sure. he reminds you of those kids in middle school that pull the ponytail of the girl they like.
but he is still so considerate to other people in his own way. he speaks a lot and loudly, but his actions always speak louder.
you feel your heartstrings tug at the sentiment so you tilt his head up and your eyes look intently into his own azure ones.
satoru is convinced you’re having a staring contest so he puts on his “concentrated” face.
you humor him for just a moment, before a helpless chuckle escapes your lips, “you silly goose,” you softly kiss his eyelids, “my silly goose.”
you gently pull his head toward you and press a kiss to his forehead, then his cheeks, and then a gentle peck to his lips.
his cheeks turn the slightest shade of red as he watches you, and his ears are a tinted a light shade of red.
awestruck, he can’t help but stare at you, “I…I am caught between telling you that I fell in love with you all over again and telling you that that was so corny.”
with a roll of your eyes, you pinch his nose lightly, “then you should just go to sleep, loser.”
he gasps then huffs and looks away, “always so mean.”
“right?” you hum while you pet his hair, “whatever shall you do, lover?”
satoru is endearing when he is quiet like this, not quite flustered but just a tad bit shy. and even when he is mad at you, he always leans into your touch. so you’re not surprised about his following line.
“if I sleep right now, we will cuddle, right?”
and you smile with a nod because as much as satoru actively wants your love, you want his just as much.

once shoko opens her door, you offer her a half-hearted smile and hold up your bottle of wine. if there’s one person you can count on to help drink your feelings away, it’s—
“i actually can’t tonight,” she sighs. “i have an exam tomorrow and i already had a few drinks so…”
“wait, shoko—” you catch the edge of the door, sighing as you admit, “i think satoru is cheating on me.”
she pauses for a second, as if checking to see if you’re serious.
then, “you open that up. i’ll get the glasses.”
“thanks,” you grin, following her inside.
“do you need anything else?” she calls from the kitchen. “a hug? baseball bat? an alibi?”
“no need for glasses, and we don’t need the other stuff…yet,” you grimace, twisting the cap off the bottle and taking a swig, kicking the door shut behind you. “and i don’t know for sure that he’s cheating, but he’s just been so weird lately.”
“weird how?” your friend asks, pushing aside the textbooks she has open on the couch cushions before gesturing for the bottle. “it’s gojo, you’ve gotta be more specific.”
you hand her the tequila, shaking your head. “it was small things at first. showing up late for dates or just cancelling them. not telling me where he’s been all day. then last night i saw this text on his phone…”
shoko’s brows raise. “you were looking at his messages?”
“no!” you exclaim. then, when your best friend sends you a look, “okay, i didn’t mean to! he left his phone on the nightstand while he was in the shower and i looked at it when it buzzed with a text from someone named megumi.”
“oh,” shoko realizes, eyes widening. “that’s a girl’s name.”
you both sit in silence for a moment, passing the bottle back and forth. your phone buzzes a few times in your pocket - undoubtedly satoru asking why you’ve been avoiding him all day - but you ignore it.
“let’s confront him,” shoko proposes once you’re halfway through the bottle. “find out once and for all.”
“okay!” by now, you’re buzzed enough to think this is a brilliant idea, standing on unsteady legs as shoko calls for a cab.
_____
“hey,” your boyfriend smiles weakly once he opens the door. “wait, what’s shoko doing—”
“where is she?” she asks, pushing past the both of you to walk into his apartment. she begins flipping up couch cushions and checking behind curtains.
“what’s going on?” satoru asks, letting you push him inside. he looks down at you, concern clouding his expression. “what’s she talking about?”
you’re not sure if it’s liquid courage or frustration that causes you to blurt, “are you cheating on me?”
“what? of course not—”
“then who’s megumi?”
“he is toji’s six year son!”
your eyes widen. shoko freezes, halfway through opening a cabinet.
toji…had a son? “so he’s a— a—”
“he’s a zen’in,” your boyfriend confirms. it’s as if all the air leaves your lungs when he says that, catching in your throat. “his mom passed, and after toji…i couldn’t just leave him alone. apparently toji made some deal to sell the kid to the zen’in clan, and i didn’t want…so i filed for guardianship.”
“guardianship,” you echo. “you’re planning to raise the kid on your own?
“his sister too.”
“i’m gonna go get a cab home. let you two talk,” shoko laughs nervously, speeding out the door.
satoru walks over to the couch once she’s gone, sitting the edge and hiding his face in his hands. “i’d get it, you know.”
“get what?” you ask, sitting next to him.
“you didn’t sign up for this,” he sighs. “taking in two kids— it’s a lot. but i couldn’t do nothing. he’s going to need someone to help him. teach him. care about him. so he doesn’t end up like…”
he doesn’t finish his sentence. you don’t make him. even after a few years, the heartache of losing your friend causes a dull ache in your chest.
though…he’s right that you didn’t sign up for any of this. kids were the furthest thing from your mind at this stage of your life, not to mention this stage of your relationship.
but if satoru, who is barely an adult himself, can find it in his heart to do what you know in your mind is the right thing…
“then i guess it’ll make the next few years of our lives pretty exciting,” you sigh, resting your head on his shoulder.
“our lives?” he repeats, sounding shocked. “you’re…staying?”
you draw back to meet his pensive gaze, though it melts away when you offer him a small smile. you see him in this moment.
so you cup his face in your hands, thumb softly stroking his cheek. “you didn’t think i would want to stay?”
“i hoped,” he murmurs, lips brushing against the inside of your wrist. “but i didn’t know for sure.”
“well, i’m not going anywhere,” you assure him, kissing the tip of his nose. “even if you’re a monumental pain in my ass.”

❛ ━━・❪ ❁ ❫ ・━━ ❜❛ ━━・❪ ❁ ❫ ・━━ ❜
Hey Everyone! I know it has been a SUPER long time since I last posted- I've been extremely busy this summer and I haven't been able to post. But, regarding my posts, I have a few announcements to make. I know literally all the content that I have made so far was about Trigun/Tristamp, but I'm going to shift my content to Jujutsu Kaisen because it's just my current brain rot, and it's just easier for me to write. Trigun will always have my heart though, so I definitely will post about it occasionally! But as for content, it's going to mostly be Jujutsu Kaisen-
Thank you to you all who have read my content and supported me even though I've been gone for a while, and I hope I can improve my writing as I start back up again! :D

'Don't Worry About The Small Things'
Synopsis: Reader is shy and apologizes a lot to Vash for small things, and he begins to think they're scared of him.
WC: 2.3k
TW: None?
Tumblr media
The breeze wafted through the small town nestled between the mountains of sand. Even though the town was minuscule compared to others that you have been through, you still found this one just as lively.
You walked shoulder to shoulder with Vash as you stayed out of the way of the other passer-byers. Your band definitely stood out like a sore thumb. It was not uncommon that your group got weird stares from the citizens of towns.
You could feel the eyes burning through your skull, but you continued walking with your group trying not to trail too far behind. You had grown accustomed to the group, they welcomed you with open arms after they had found you in the desert alone. Even though you didn't have much gun experience, you always tried to help out. Doing things like cooking some meals if you have the materials and trying to get money for the group when they needed it.
Today wasn't much different than usual. You had all made a plan to get some supplies and then get back on the road after. The plan was for Meryl and Roberto to go get first aid supplies and other items you may all need. While Vash and you went to go get food to last you all long enough until you hit another town. Wolfwood didn't really get a job. He probably went out to get some cigarettes for himself and Roberto and is probably wandering the town now.
You and the blonde scanned the streets of the town. There were different signs littered everywhere. All advertising different stores products. A sigh left your lips as you continued striding through the town, trying to find a grocery store of sorts. Vash was ahead of you his tall figure at an advantage, to see over the crowd of people.
Trying to keep an eye on his red figure growing smaller in the distance, you picked up your pace catching up to the blonde who was trailing ahead. Upon catching up, you accidentally bumped into causing him to trip.
"Sorry, didn't mean to bump into you. . ." you said quickly trying to steady him from falling.
"'S fine, don't worry about it." Vash grinned at you.
Nodding at him, you both finally spotted a store to get some food for you all. You walked through the few aisles that the store had to offer scanning for some food that would be nonperishable. Occasionally you would both stop to look at a certain item that caught your eye, but all the store had to offer that wouldn't go bad, was beans and canned fruit of some sort. You both grabbed a few cans of these beans and fruits, along with some things you could eat on the road, like donuts or sweets.
After finding everything, you both walked up to the register and waited in line to check out. The line wasn't too long thankfully and you were able to soon place your items on the counter while the person behind the counter entered the prices into the register.
"Your total will be $38.74," The cashier said with a grin.
Vash pulled out his wallet and handed the money to the cashier and offered them, his one-of-a-kind smile. The cashier quickly bagged up the goods your two had bought, into two paper bags before handing them to you both.
"Bye! Take care!" The cashier smiled as you both began to walk out of the store.
"Bye! Have a great rest of your day!" Vash said with a little wave of his free hand.
You smiled and waved at the cashier before focusing your gaze on the exit. As you approached the door, Vash opened the door letting you out first with him following behind you. You were back out in the crowded streets and let Vash lead the way back to the others while you stayed close behind him. With the noise of the busy civilization, you both stayed quiet as you walked back toward the car that was in the distance.
When you both finally made it to the car, the others were nowhere to be seen. So, you both decided to place the food in the car. Thankfully Meryl had given Vash the spare key so that you could unlock the door. You opened the door after Vash unlocked it and placed the food in a seat for the meanwhile. Before closing the door, Vash grabbed the pack of donuts he had bought.
Closing the door, you both decided to sit in the shade of the car. The shade helped relieve a bit of the heat at least. Vash soon began to open the package of donuts he had bought and held it out toward you.
"You want one?" Vash asked as he took one for himself and taking a bite.
Looking at his offer, you smiled and shook your head, "I'm okay! thanks for the offer though," You said while fidgeting with the hem of your shirt.
Vash quirked a brow at your actions and you could feel his gaze on you. Your mind began to race as thinking that you might have offended him or upset him and your first thought was to apologize. And that's what you did.
"Sorry. . ." You quietly mumbled without looking at him.
This confused Vash even more as he soon began, "Why are you sorry? You didn't do anything Y/n."
You stayed silent before shrugging at him. You both left it at that and left the other in their thoughts. It was getting cooler due to the sun beginning to set, and the others slowly but surely decided to show up. After getting everything set up, you all hit the road. You were thankful for the breeze as you sat against the window seat trying to cool down and forget about earlier. Wolfwood sat in the middle beside you, and Vash was on the other side.
There was an idle conversation going on between Meryl, Roberto, and Wolfwood, and you occasionally listened in, but you often found your gaze on the blonde separated from you by Wolfwood. Every once in a while, Wolfwood would lean forward and it gave you a perfect view of Vash as he smiled and giggled at the conversation. The way the light gleamed off of his yellow locks, his cerulean eyes being masked by his orange glasses, and his small smile all tied into one had you falling in love. He was beautiful, inside and out, and every day you fell for him all over again.
But part of you felt like you didn't deserve someone like him. He was too good for you, and there was no way he would want to date you... right? As you were stuck in your thoughts, you didn't realize you were still staring at Vash, and Wolfwood happened to notice. You blinked before looking up at Wolfwood who had dropped out of the conversation and was looking down at you with a smirk. 'This is the end for me.. he's never going to let me live this down.' You thought already beginning to accept your fate.
He winked at you sending a smirk your way before turning towards Vash and starting something.
"Hey, Needle Noggin, I want the window seat now, I'm going to switch places with Y/n," He smirked.
"You can just switch with me-"
Before Vash could even finish his sentence, Wolfwood was already man handling you, and lifting you over him and plopping you on Vash's lap while he purposely took up the middle seat and the window seat. Vash let out a small squeak as you were plopped into his lap and he held you in place as Meryl swerved a from the commotion. Your face was as red as Vash's jacket, your heart felt as if it would explode any minute. If looks could kill, Wolfwood would be a dead man due to the glare you were giving him. Wolfwood just smirked and waved you off before joining back into the conversation with Meryl and Roberto, who yelled at him for causing so much commotion.
As you regained your thoughts, your face went red again as you remembered where you were sitting. You felt Vash's arms wrapped around your waist loosely pulling you into his chest. Bringing your hands to your face to try to hide in any way, apologies began to spew from your mouth.
"'m sorry- this is probably really-" You were soon stopped mid sentence as Vash's hold around your waist tightened.
"'m not mad or embarrassed about this.. don't apologize." Vash muttered near your ear so only you could hear.
"You don't need to apologize about such small things, I really don't mind, Y/n" He continued.
Your words were caught in your throat and all you could do was nod at his words as you slowly began to melt into his grasp. You could feel Vash pull you closer against his chest as he rested his head on top of yours.
Eventually, Meryl began to get tired of driving and you all sat up camp for the night. Vash stayed closer to you and would offer to help you set up your sleeping bag and help cook. It was too much for you to handle all at once. Your mind raced with all the possibilities of why Vash could be doing this and it made your face flush just at the thought.
After eating some food and all bidding goodnight to each other, you laid awake in your sleeping bag. You tossed and turned and you were beginning to get frustrated. All you wanted to do was get some sleep so that you could try to forget about today and move on. But the day clearly wasn't over for you.
Over all of your tossing and turning, you could hear the quiet footsteps of someone approaching you. You stayed quiet and closed your eyes pretending to be asleep. But the unknown person approaching knew you were faking and gently nudged you.
"Y/n I know your awake.." The figure whispered quietly.
You imedieatly knew it was Vash and stayed quiet not moving or talking to him.
"C'mon, Y/n.. please?" Vash said as he crouched down beside you.
You stayed quiet before giving in and slowly turning towards him. He smiled as he outstretched his hand. A smile appeared on his face.
"Can you come with me for a sec..?" He whispered.
You stayed still as you contemplated his offer, but you soon nodded and sat up, taking his hand as he helped you up. He soon began to lead you somewhere as your hand stayed in his. You had no idea where he was taking you. It seemed like he was taking you away from the camp to talk? Talk about what though..? He soon stopped abruptly as you were thinking, causing you to bump into him.
"Sorry.." You began as you placed your hands on his chest and began to back away.
"Why do you always do that..?" Vash said. He looked genuinely hurt as he held your hand against his chest.
You stayed still, to afraid to speak.
"Are you scared of me..?" He soon began.
"You apologize for anything that you think is an inconvenience to me," He paused for a moment recollecting his thoughts.
"I don't want you to be afraid of me.." He mumbled quietly.
From where your hand was on his chest, you could feel his heart racing as he said that. You almost seemed like a deer in headlights as you stayed shocked and still. Looking at the expression displayed on your face, Vash's confidence began to diminish as he soon let go of your hand and fiddled with the hem of his shirt.
"I- sorry Y/n- You don't have to answer that, let's go back to th-" Vash began but soon paused.
The impact of you hugging him surprised him. This time it was his turn to be shocked.
"'m not scared of you.." You began as you hid your face from him. You took a deep breath before beginning again.
"I happen to really like you.." You mumbled.
Vash was silent, and it began to worry you. You began to pull away from the embrace but you were stopped as Vash's arms wrapped around you, holding you in place. Your eyes went wide as you felt him hug you tightly. You both stayed silent, both deciding to enjoy the moment. He was warm, and he wrapped you into his coat with him, to shield you from the cold temperature of the night.
Vash soon began, interrupting the comfortable silence, "I really like you Y/n.."
He gently brushed some stray hair behind your ear as he looked down at you.
Looking away from him, but your embrace around him tightening, you soon replied, "I like you too, Vash.."
Extra: From behind a rock near the campsite. Wolfwood rubbed his eyes as he made his way back to his warm sleeping bag after taking a leak. He yawned, before looking around and seeing that your and Vash's sleeping bags were empty. Wolfwood looked around before seeing you both in the distance hugging each other. His eyes widened while a smirk appeared on his face. It got even larger when he saw Vash press a small kiss on your temple. Wolfwood shot you both winning look, proud of what he did, before walking back and getting comfortable in his sleeping bag. Hey, I mean he helped get the two obliviously in love friends together. It's a win in his book at least.
The End!
Okay, so, Idek where I was going with this oneshot- I was struggling to figure out where to go with it so this probably makes no sense- But anyway, sorry if this isn't what you wanted, and I hope you enjoyed!
Thank you for reading!!!

Personally I think it would be funny if the plan to lock Reader and Vash in a room together failed miserably and they just ended up talking about the weather the whole time like the emotionally constipated dorks they are. And they actually end up confessing at a completely different, unrelated point. Like, one of them gets hammered and confesses when they mistake the other for a stranger and starts rambling about how AMAZING their "unrequited" lover is.
You don't have to write this if you don't want to, just wanted to share at least.
Locked In With You
A/N: I'm gonna write this, I'm taking it like a personal challenge haha partially because I LOVE your idea, Anon - it somehow feels right. For reference, this is a fic that continues off a point from these jealousy headcanons. I took a slightly different approach to this, but it should still address this request!
Pairing: Vash x reader
Tumblr media
"So... what do we do now?"
Vash's voice was abnormally high, clearly indicating his nervousness. You were glad the room was pretty dark - that way, Vash wouldn't be able to see your face changing shades. Or, at least, you hoped he couldn't see your face.
For some reason, Meryl and Wolfwood had decided to take it upon themselves to lock you and Vash in a closet together. At least, that's what you suspected.
"I swear, those two are in for it," You muttered under your breath, "They locked us in here on purpose. But for what reason?"
"I don't know!" Vash exclaimed, letting out another nervous laugh, "M-Maybe it was a genuine accident?"
"I doubt that, Vash," You replied sullenly, crossing your arms over your chest, "I don't think anything those two collaborate on is an 'accident'."
"Aww, come on, we should give 'em the benefit of the doubt, don't you think?" Vash tried again, smiling a bit as you shook your head stubbornly in return.
"Absolutely not."
At that, Vash just chuckled before letting a silence fall between the two of you. It felt... comfortable, but simultaneously a bit uneasy, like there was something hovering between you and Vash - something that was begging to be said, or acknowledged, but wasn't being so and just lingered there.
You normally would have given anything to be caught in a situation like this with Vash, but now that you found yourself here, against your will, you felt unsure and scared.
You had fallen in love with the Humanoid Typhoon while travelling with him, and you always made sure your hands "accidentally" touched, or you found reasons to be stuck with him, or be near him, and found yourself looking at him longingly whenever you were sure he wasn't looking. You were pretty certain Meryl and Wolfwood found you pathetic, as they were most definitely aware of how in love you were with Vash. But even so, they didn't say anything about it, for which you were grateful.
Until now, when Meryl and Wolfwood suddenly decided the only way you and Vash could potentially get together was by physically enclosing you in a space until a confession was drawn out. Enough had been enough for them.
"Vash?" You found yourself whispering his name in a question softly, before you yourself knew where you were going with this.
"Yeah, (Y/N)?" Vash responded, his own voice quiet - if you didn't know any better, he almost sounded... nervous. As if he was anticipating something.
"I-," You took a deep breath, "I just wanted to tell you that-"
The door flung open, and you blinked as the sudden light blinded you. Once your eyes adjusted, you just saw a smirking Wolfwood and a slightly embarrassed Meryl.
"Sorry, guys! We finally got the key to get you two out!" Meryl exclaimed as you slipped out of the closet you'd been locked in, brushing past her and mumbling a "thanks" in passing.
One look with Wolfwood, and you could see that he understood - nothing had happened. No confession. You couldn't help but feel a bit upset about it - you were about to let your feelings go when they'd interrupted, and now... it felt like your chance was lost forever.
Your sorrow lasted the rest of the day, to the point where when you and the group went down to the tavern, you found yourself ordering drink after drink after drink, slamming them back one after the other in an attempt to numb the pain of all your emotions. You felt your head spinning and your blood buzzing in your veins, but you weren't about to stop any time soon.
"Woah, woah, woah! Take it easy, there, sweetheart. You trying to drown your sorrows?"
You glanced over at Wolfwood as he sat next to you at the bar, picking up your drink and taking a sniff before smirking at you, "Damn, sweetheart, strong stuff you got here."
He proceeded to drink your drink, causing you to exclaim, "Hey, I was planning to drink that, you bastard!"
"Whatcha doing, drinking enough of this crap to blind a man?" Wolfwood just asked coolly, his eyes trained on you as you sighed heavily.
"Trying to forget the fact that I'm in love with a beautiful, perfect, amazing, wonderful man who will never love me back," You slurred, your voice louder than you recognized it to be.
Before Wolfwood could even interject, you just continued to rant, "Seriously, Wolfwood, Vash is the most amazing person I've ever met and I love him more than anybody else in my life, but there's no chance somebody as amazing as him would even look at somebody like me twice. I'm nobody special, just ordinary, boring, unimpressive (Y/N)."
To Wolfwood's alarm, there were now tears going down your face as you cried silently, the alcohol amplifying your emotions beyond what you were used to. You were hiccupping quietly, brushing away your tears clumsily as you sat there at the bar, suddenly looking much smaller and more vulnerable than Wolfwood had ever seen you. To say he was unsettled was an understatement.
What you didn't notice was Wolfwood's eyes suddenly shifting to something behind you, a smirk appearing on his lips as he saw Vash just standing there, absolutely stunned. There was no question about it - Vash had heard your declaration of love for him.
You suddenly tried to stand, but of course, with your blood alcohol level now probably through the roof, the whole world jerked violently sideways and you stumbled hard. However, a pair of strong yet gentle arms wrapped around you and caught you before you hit the ground. You let out a groan, feeling sick to your stomach - the alcohol was kicking your butt, now.
"Why don't you let Blondie get you back to your room, huh, sweetheart?" Wolfwood stated casually, waving you off and walking over to where Meryl was, leaving you in Vash's arms.
"Come on, (Y/N)," Vash's gentle voice was suddenly in your ear, causing a shiver to go down your spine as you registered he was there, "Let's get you to bed, yeah?"
"Oh, hi Vash!" You chirped, smiling at him as if you hadn't just been sobbing your eyes out minutes prior, "When did you get here?"
"Just a few seconds ago, just in time to catch you as you tripped," Vash answered, smiling down at you with a grin that could rival the sun. It made your chest feel warm but it hurt you a bit as your feelings resurfaced in your cloudy mind.
"O-Oh. Thanks, Vash," You mumbled, feeling queasy as you tried to walk, "I-I should... go to bed. You don't need to babysit me, I'll be fine."
However, right as you tried to brush Vash off, you tripped over yourself once again, almost hitting the floor once more. Thankfully, Vash was still nearby and managed to catch you once again.
"I won't babysit you, but please let me at least make sure you get back safe, (Y/N)," Vash asked gently, looking down at you with an expression filled with an emotion you didn't recognize.
Regardless, it softened your resolve, leading to you mumbling out a small "okay" and letting Vash guide you back to your room. Before you knew it, you were back in your room and Vash let you get ready for bed as he went to turn down your bed covers and make it easier for you to get to bed. Once you had brushed your teeth and changed into your pyjamas (with a lot of difficulty), Vash made you drink a glass of water and brought you over to the bed, tucking the blankets in around you.
Before Vash could leave, you grabbed his wrist, clutching onto him somewhat desperately, a small whisper leaving you as you felt sleep washing over you, "Please don't go."
You didn't even have time to hear Vash's response before sleep dragged you under, your hand dropping from Vash's as you finally fell asleep. Vash's heart was pounding violently in his chest as he gazed at your sleeping figure - even drunk, you still wanted him there.
Vash couldn't help but smile a goofy little smile to himself - he had overheard your passionate and somewhat sad declaration of love for him, undoubtedly unaware that he was directly behind you. His heart had broken when he heard you voice how you felt Vash was unreachable to you, that his love was unreachable to you and that you felt you were nothing special, simply ordinary, and not enough for him.
Your little whisper asking him to stay as you fell asleep just solidified Vash's determination to confess to you in the morning, once you were sober and would be able to remember every word he told you. He already knew you loved him, he now had that confirmation, and he'd be damned if he wasn't going to act on it.
"I'm so in love with you, (Y/N)," Vash found himself whispering into the night, leaning down to gently stroke your cheek as you slept on, "I love you more than anything. I'll be here when you wake up, I promise. And finally, I'll tell you the truth. I love you, (Y/N). Sleep well, my love."
Vash could not wait for the morning to come.

Knives head-canon time
Ok so I have a shit ton of ideas that have poured onto me ok. And I’m here today to spill my brain rot onto you guys because you’re all filthy like me.
I like the idea that if Knives has a significant other (this ties in with my former post about plants and whatnot) all they have to do is say his name and he’ll be by their side in an instant. Like, he lives in this big ass tower, right? So, naturally it takes forever for him to get anywhere. But let’s say he’s bridged that emotional connection (reference to that here) and because of this, it’s like a trigger for him. I’ll write a quick example.
(Ex. Knives is out on another one of his missions to steal a plant. He does this often and he tends to leave you at the tower with Con’rad. You like the old man’s company, he can be nice to talk to, but you can’t help but worry about Knives. As you sit in your room thinking to yourself, you step out into the balcony to get fresh air. “Please be okay, Knives.” You mutter to yourself as you shake your head and lean on the railing. Suddenly you hear his voice behind you. “I am perfectly fine.” You scream as you turn around and look at him. “Where the fuck!?”)
It works two ways. If you say his name in the context of wanting to see him or needing him he can just like feel it. (I’ll write an example of that below as well.) immediately he’s by your side. There’s no explanation to it, it’s just like he steps into the shadow realm to fast travel…I don’t know. But then there’s just mentioning his name in passing conversations, in those cases it doesn’t happen so it’s not like you have to watch what you say.
(Ex 2. Knives was just feet away from the dying plant, his blades began to slither towards it, carefully but firmly wrapping around it. “Please be okay, Knives.” Your voice rang through his head suddenly and there was a tug inside of him. In the blink of an eye, without hesitation, he found himself standing beside you on the balcony of the tower. “I am perfectly fine.”)

'Sometimes, Even to Live is an Act of Courage'
A/n: I just felt like writing this, just to have it out there for someone who may need it.
Synopsis: Vash caught the reader relapsing into self-harm, and comforts you.
TW: Mentions of self-harm, Attempted Self-harm, Sad topics?
WC: 2.3k
Tumblr media
The night was calm and silent. There wasn't any commotion going on around the town. You were finally able to be alone in the little comfort that the small room you were staying in for the night. The small and old clock that resided next to your bed ticked agonizingly loudly as you lay there, staring at the bland ceiling. You weren't awake for any particular reason. Sleep was being selfish and decided to skip out on you for the night.
A sigh left your lips as you repositioned yourself on the bed laying on your side while looking out the window. The moon shone brightly through the glass window. The orb of the night was somehow able to light up the small room so brightly for being so small.
Your mind began to wander to other thoughts as you lay on the not-so-comfortable bed and looked out the foggy window. Scanning through your memories, your brain decided to land on ones you're not too fond of. The memories tended to play on repeat in your mind, still haunting you, no matter how far you bury them. They were still there.. and always would be. It pained you as each one played so vividly in your mind.
Through the midst of all this, your knees somehow found themselves pressed against your chest, and the blankets brought up closer to your face to try to shield you. You squeezed your knees tightly for comfort as you tried to clear your mind and think of other memories. Some like the ones of Vash and the gang. Ever since you had met them, you had found yourself happier. The way that you all survived life or death situations, the stories, the laughter, and even the gravest of times, the memories were pleasant.
You found yourself smiling at the thought, but only for a moment. No matter how hard you tried, the terrible thoughts persisted. They were like a curse, always following you, and taking hold of you at the worst times. As you pulled the blankets closer towards you, your hand brushed against your warm face, feeling the wet tears you didn't know you began to shed. A sniffle left your lips as you sighed and wiped your tears.
With your mind wandering again through the memories, the only solution you could think of at the moment was to go back to your old ways. Your eyes wandered toward your bag as if it called to you. Maybe it will help? It could help to relive the memories for a bit.. You had an internal conflict with yourself. When you met the gang a while back, you decided it was time to stop, but.. it was too much to bare right now..
Letting your negative thoughts win, you pulled off the blankets you had pulled up oh so close to you before. Your feet touched the cold floor as you made your way to your bag, while wiping the flowing tears from your face. Instinctively, your hands unzipped the small hidden pouch in your bag as you pulled out the small razor blade. The blade was cold to the touch as your shaky hands held it tightly.
You tried to fight back the thoughts, but it was too compelling, it could help. Taking a shaky breath, you placed the blade on your wrist, not pushing too hard. Well.. here goes nothing.. you thought. Taking a breath, you were interrupted by the door opening and Vash peeking inside. Your eyes opened wide as he stared at you in shock.
"Y/n.. what are you doing..?" He said walking through the door and shutting it behind him.
Hiding the blade behind you're back, you were barely able to squeak out, "Vash! I uh-" You were flustered and scared that he had caught you.
He walked closer to you, hesitantly placing his hands on your shoulders. His touch was light and comforting as he studied you carefully. As words were finally able to form, you looked up at his worried eyes, but something inside of you came crashing down and your words got caught in your throat. Your face contorted from shock to sadness so fast, it took Vash by surprise. You found yourself being drawn towards Vash as you wrapped your arms around him.
Sobs left your lips as you hugged him tightly. The blade, long forgotten, was dropped on the hard, wooden, floor as you grasped his shirt tightly, as you sobbed. Your grasp was tight enough for you to lose feeling in your knuckles as they began to turn white.
Vash quickly wrapped his arms around your shaking figure as worry bubbled up in his chest. His flesh hand made its way to the back of your head, as his metal one rested around your shoulders. His words got caught up in his throat as he wanted to speak, no he needed  to speak. His heart sank to the pit of his stomach as he thought about what to do. His brows knitted together as he thought. His mouth soon began to open, but only closed a moment later deciding not to say what he wanted.
His lips quaked as he decided to say something. "It's okay.." was all he said as he pulled you closer to him.
"I'm here.." he said before hugging you tightly and slowly starting to rock with you, back and forth.
He decided to stay silent until you were able to calm down. He didn't care if you had to cry all night, or just for a few more minutes. He wanted to be with you, help you, and comfort you.
After a few more minutes, you began to calm down after having a lack of oxygen. The wet patch on Vash's shirt from your tears felt cold and clammy against your face. Your grip on his shirt loosened, as you pulled back from him. Eyes puffy and red, along with your hair being a mess. You looked up at him as a blush came to your face, you were embarrassed that he happened to witness you in such a vulnerable state and that he saw you about to hurt yourself.
Sniffling and wiping your face, you began to play with the hem of your shirt. He probably thought you were some depressed freak now. You backed away from him slowly, like he was the boogie man or something.
"Y/n.." Vash soon began as he stayed put, in fear of intimidating you.
You stayed silent too afraid to answer him. He soon tried again, "Y/n.." He slowly began to inch closer to you, but bent down to pick up the blade you were going to use.
"What is this.." The blonde said as his lips quivered at the thought of what you were going to do with it.
Your words got caught in your throat, as you looked anywhere but at him. Tears threatened to spill again, as you looked down.
"Y/n.. look at me.." Vash said. He walked closer to you and you saw the tips of his feet in front of you. He gently reached his flesh hand to your face as he gently placed it on your chin and tilted your head up.
"What's going on..?" He said with worry laced in his voice.
Your mouth went agape as you tried to get words to form. Tears began to form again and began to spill from your eyes. He gently wiped them off with his thumb as he looked at you, waiting for an answer. His eyes looked so worried and genuinely concerned. They were able to calm you down as you soon found yourself spilling all the memories and your past problems.
He stayed silent as he took in your words, he looked down at you while you talked. When you occasionally choked on your sobs, he would pull you closer and hug you tight. He absorbed your words as his eyes observed your figure. He was able to see so much more about you, than what you had shared about yourself. Someone like you has been through all of this, and yet you have been able to smile and keep going.
When you eventually finished telling him your thoughts, you stood there quietly. Tears would occasionally run down your face afterward but you soon found yourself back in Vash's embrace. He let out a shakey breath as he held you close to him. You could hear his heartbeat through his chest as it beat with a calm pace.
Slicing through the silence, Vash soon spoke, "Y/n, your really strong, I didn't even know you had been through that.." He paused choosing his next words carefully.
"You matter.. and I care about you, all of the others do too.. if you're having a hard time, please come talk to me or at least one of us.." He soon continued. He didn't notice, but tears began to well up in his eyes as he spoke.
"For you to have come so far in this world, is brave of you.. this world is harsh and cruel, it will throw its obstacles at you, break you, beat you, and hurt you, but the fact that you were able to survive, and even recover from the low points of your life, is an accomplishment." He breathed out.
You listened to his words as his chest vibrated with each word he let out. You could feel him let go with one hand for a moment but soon rested it back in its position.
He wiped a few tears that escaped from his eyes before resting his head near yours. His heart rate quickened as it thumped in his chest. But he didn't care right now.. all he cared about was helping you out of this state. Even if it takes him days, weeks, months, years even, it would be worth it.
"You matter so much to me.. and sometimes... continuing to live, is an act of courage.. so let's continue living on together.. okay?" His words were so quiet, yet they were there and powerful.
You nodded into his chest as you hugged him tighter. He smiled at the fact that you had begun to calm down. The small blade that he held in his hand, he slowly brought it toward you while he pulled away. You looked at the small blade that had pierced your skin many times in the past.
"Promise me.. you'll come to me before you ever have to use one of these again.." He said almost in a whisper as the moonlight illuminated his face.
He looked at you with seriousness written on his face.
You took a deep breath before you nodded at him. "I promise.." You breathed out.
"Pinky promise?" He said with a straight face and holding up his pinky finger.
A smile came to your lips as you gently intertwined your pinkies, "I pinky promise,"
He shot you a lopsided grin before he looked down towards the small razor blade in his metallic hand. "What do you want me to do with this?"
You looked at it one last time before saying, "I think I should get rid of it.. you know.. to symbolize a fresh start I guess.." You said placing your hand on the back of your neck and offering an awkward chuckle.
He nodded before closing his palm with the blade, and soon a crack was heard. He reopened his palm to only for the blade to be broken into 5 different pieces. You let out a laugh as he walked to the trashcan and placed the remaining pieces of the blade in there.
It was soon silent again as you both looked at each other trying to figure out what was going on in the other's head. That was until you got thinking.
"Why did you come into my room when you did?" You hesitantly asked.
You could see him stiffen as he ran a hand through his hair before replying, "The walls are paper thin.. and I was having trouble sleeping and I happened to have heard you crying.. so I came to check on you.." He said with an awkward laugh at the end.
You chuckled at him before hugging him again. "I'm glad you came when you did.." You mumbled.
He smiled as he hugged you tightly, before pulling away.
"Well.. its late.. you should probably go to sleep y/n.. are you okay with being alone? Or do you want me to stay?" He asked as his hands settled on your shoulders.
"Can you stay...?" You asked as a small blush dusted your cheeks.
A smile flew to his lips as he nodded at you. As you climbed into bed, he soon followed suit behind you, and took the spot beside you. He offered you one last smile before he turned to the other side of the bed and you soon did the same.
"Night, Y/n" Vash muttered sleepily.
"Night, Vash" You mumbled back.
A/n: Okay- I hope this was able to help a little bit. If your struggling with relapsing or self-harm or even depression in general, just know, the situation is only temporary. Even if it seems like it will never blow over or never get better, just know it will eventually. And talking and getting help can really help you. Just please remember you matter. You are important. <3
Anyway- I know this is a somewhat sensitive topic, so I hope this could help the people who need it maybe? Idrk ik it can't help too much but, yea. Have good rest of your day/night and please be safe. <3

Forgetting is a Part of Life
Tumblr media
A/n: So, me being me, I didn't feel like writing for a while, but I'm back, and this request is like 15 days late- So, here it is now- I apologize for the wait. (I hope this is what you were wanting! @talimicka6543 (Idk why the '@' isn't working-) I also probably failed writing this-)
Synopsis: With the reader having innatentive adhd, Vash finds ways to help you focus and comfort you, when you need it.
Tw: None?
Tumblr media
The sun began to rise one fateful morning. It was peaceful and quiet, that was, until you were hurrying to grab your things as a band of robbers decided to ambush you all. It was hard to believe that you all were sleeping so peacefully, just a few seconds ago, and now, gunfire is raining down upon you all.  You all jumped up as soon as the gunfire started as you all tried to gather your things up quickly, before making a run for Meryl's car. When you gathered your stuff, you placed it all in your lap as you squeezed between Vash and Wolfwood with sleep still clouding your eyes. Meryl started the car and sped off kicking up dirt, and leaving your previous campsite in the dust.
Moving your things around after finally settling down, and the adrenaline leaving your body, you looked out the window, even though there wasn't much to see of the desert. You began to space out, the small conversation in the background, along with the noise of the car was able to cast its spell upon you. Mind going blank, and noises around you beginning to get drowned out, it was just, you. No noise, no distractions, no feeling, just silence.
That was until you felt someone trying to get your attention.
"Y/n" Vash said as he waved his hand in front of your face.
Blinking your eyes, you looked at him and shot him a shy smile, "What..?" You asked.
He looked at you with a kind and understanding expression, before saying, "We were trying to get your input on the new town ahead. Do you want to check it out? Or go somewhere else?"
You looked out the windshield and saw the nearing town in the distance.
"I don't really care up to you guys," You replied while beginning to look out the window again.
Your mind began to wander off again, all words turning into a jumble of a mess, and all feeling slowly disappearing. Watching the desert go by through the small car windows, you were brought back to reality by a cold hand finding its way to yours. It was much larger than yours, the blue metallic thumb of his hand gently rubbing circles into the back of yours. Your eyes traveled up to the culprit's face.
His flowy golden locks, his firm jawline, the orange sunglasses, his beauty mark, and then finally his eyes. It all came together perfectly as his small smile formed on his lips. You found yourself smiling back, as you locked your fingers with his. He continued talking with the others as his hand stayed in yours. You found it harder to zone out, and were able to focus more on the conversation.
It was soon decided that you would all stop at the nearing town for the night, and leave in the morning. Which, wasn't too bad of an option. You wanted to sleep in a normal bed again. For the whole car ride, Vash's hand remained in yours as you drove to the nearing town that began to grow in the windshield as you approached.
Pulling up to the town, Meryl parked the car outside the village in hopes she hid it enough so that it hopefully won't get stolen.
"What's everyone's plan when we get head in?" Meryl said as she unbuckled and turned to face everyone in the back.
"I'm gonna get a few things from the market," Wolfwood said as he out of instinct, went to grab a cigarette but to no avail the box was empty.
"I'm probably going to look around a bit, but other than that I will probably be where we decided to stay the night, or with you guys." You explained while squeezing your items against you.
"I'll probably stick around them," Vash said pointing towards you with his thumb.
Meryl nodded, "I'll go make sure things are all set up for the night and get the rooms." She said.
"Alright break," Roberto cut, in while he opened the door.
Vash unbuckled and then slid out of the car before turning around and offering a hand for you as you followed suit behind him. Rolling your eyes, you grabbed his hand gently as he helped pull you out of the car, and steadied you.
As you walked towards the entrance of the town, you were taken aback by the number of people who lived in this town. It was filled with vendors and people walking around with their friends or family. Grabbing Vash's hand gently, you continued walking into the bustling town while looking at all the small trinkets and items that each vendor offered.
As you were about halfway through the town, it was down to just you and Vash now. You had lost Wolfwood a while back, as something had caught his interest. Meryl and Roberto parted ways with you both a little bit ago, as they spotted a decent-looking hotel to stay in. So it was just you two now.
"So what should we do now?" Vash said as he looked down at you happily.
You shrugged. You didn't really know what you both wanted to do now.
"I don't really know," You said while using your hand to block the sun's light that shone too brightly.
Vash looked down at you confused by your actions before realizing why you had to shield your eyes. A small smile came to his lips as he took off his glasses and placed them on you gently. You looked at him confused as you adjusted them on your nose.
"Why did you give me your glasses?" You asked still confused.
"You have to look up at me and I don't need you to go blind on me, so I gave you my glasses," He answered while his eyes adjusted to his surroundings no longer being tinted orange.
A smile made its way to your lips as you wore his glasses and continued to walk a bit more.
Vash hummed as he thought for a moment about what you should both do. His eyes wandered around all the billboards and signs that littered the walls and beams of buildings. They soon wandered upon a small food stand that had a lot of different foods to offer. Overall, it looked decent.
"You want to get a bite to eat?" Vash soon enquired, as he looked down at your small figure.
Making a small hum noise, you were about to answer but your stomach answered for you.
"Yea- I guess so," You said with a small chuckle.
He smiled before leading you to the stand he saw and there wasn't much of a line thankfully. Looking at the menu, you saw that it offered some different types of pizza, ramen, and hotdogs, it seemed to have a little bit of everything for such a small stand.
Vash went to order first, "Can I get a slice of pepperoni pizza?" Vash said as he pointed towards it.
The man running the stand quickly sliced a decent-sized slice of pizza and handed it to him before looking towards you. Your eyes landed on all the delicious smelling food but soon decided to get the same thing as Vash.
"Can I get the same thing he got?" You asked pointing towards the same pizza that Vash had got.
The man nodded again before getting another slice and putting it on a plate, while handing it to you.
"That will be $4.75 please," The man said as he held out his hand for the money Vash had handed him.
"Keep the change," Vash said with a smile.
The man smiled at Vash before thanking him, and then bidding you both farewell as you began to walk away. You began to walk back towards where you and Vash had left Meryl at the hotel, while munching on your slice of pizza on the way. Thankfully, it wasn't too bad of a walk to the hotel from where the stand was.
When you got there, Vash and you joined Meryl and Roberto as they had a few drinks and talked. Vash soon decided to join in the conversation while you looked around the bar section of the hotel.
There wasn't much to it, just some old bar stools along the old and worn counters. Along with the old and battered tables that look like they collapse with a single touch. It wasn't the best place to stay in, but it would do.
Eventually, you decided to go check out the hotel room that you would be staying in. Meryl had given you the key earlier and so you decided to excuse yourself for a moment.
"I'll be back, I want to check out the room," You said as you began to stand up and push in your chair.
They nodded at you, before continuing bidding you farewell, and continuing the conversation. As you made your way up the rickety old stairs, you scanned the numbers of the doors before you stopped.
"Room 5.." You whispered to yourself.
You placed the key into the lock before turning it and the door slid open with a loud creak. The room was plain, just like the rest of the hotel. The paint was peeling from the walls, and it reeked of cigarettes and dust.
"Welp.." You said before walking in and closing the door.
You plopped your backpack on the floor by the door, before walking around and opening a window to try and air out the room before you had to sleep in it.
Standing at the window to breathe in some of the outside air, you soon turned around and began heading back down to the others. The stairs creaked with each step you took, but you soon arrived back with the others and Wolfwood had finally decided to show up too.
Pulling out your chair beside Vash and taking a seat, you planted your elbow onto the table before resting your head on your palm. Their talking was soothing and almost able to lull you to sleep. Your tired eyes rested on Vash before they closed one last time. The image of him still in your mind as you looked over each of his features.
But something was missing.
Your eyes opened again as you took a look at his figure trying to find the piece it was missing. It wasn't his gun, his coat, his earring, what was it? Scanning over him again, you soon noticed his glasses were the thing that was missing.
"Vash, where are your glasses?" You asked somewhat breaking into their conversation.
He looked at you confused before a loving smile appeared on his face. "You're wearing them, love," Vash said with a small chuckle.
You were confused but soon realized, things were still tinted orange. You took the glasses off, as heat began to run to your face, and soon made its way to the tip of your ears. You handed him the glasses as you fiddled with the hem of your shirt with the other hand.
"Sorry.." You mumbled quietly as you planted your face between your arms on the table as your only way to hide from your embarrassment.
"Don't worry, everyone forgets things, it's part of life." Vash smiled down at you happily.
You nodded not daring to look the others in the eyes.
~^~
Eventually, you had all eaten until your heart's content. As of right now, you were all splitting ways and heading to your individual rooms beside Vash who was going to stay with you. You opened the door to room five, as you both walked in and settled on the small bed.
"Well at least it's smelling better now," you sigh.
Vash chuckles as he hugs you from behind gently while snuggling into the crook of your neck. Turning around in his grasp to face him, you gently press a kiss to his lips to which he replies right back happily.
When you pulled back gasping for air, Vash pressed his forehead to yours gently.
"Love ya," Vash soon whispered against your lips.
You giggled at him before rolling your eyes, "Love ya too, blondie." You said while reaching your arm up to ruffle his messy hair.
You both stayed in that position, basking in each other's warmth and affection. That was until, your mind began to wander. 'Where did I put my backpack..? You thought. Pulling away from Vash, he whined but soon looked at you confused as you looked around the dimly lit room.
"What up, Mayfly?" Vash asked as he quirked a brow and tilted his head.
"I'm looking for my backpack, I think I left it downstairs-" You said as you began to open the door to go check.
Before you can leave, you feel Vash grab your waist and pull you back in. "You're backpack's right here, love. Don't worry," He said while gesturing to the backpack that was still there from when you first checked out the room.
A sigh of relief left your lips as heat rose to your face, again.
"I guess I forgot- sorry that was random.." You said bringing a hand up and placing it on the back of your neck as you let out an awkward laugh.
He looked at you concerned for a second before pulling you in for a hug, and holding you tightly. You remained there for a moment in silence before he began.
"Don't feel bad for being "random" or "forgetting" things.. everyone does it, and there's nothing to be embarrassed about. It just makes you, you, and I love everything about you.." He said before planting a kiss on the crown of your head.
His words were always able to help you feel somewhat better, even if you hated the fact he had to give you these talks almost every day. But it helped, and you were thankful for him. You squeezed him back before pulling back from the hug and placing a kiss on his cheek.
"Thanks, blondie," You uttered out with a loving smile.
"Of course, mayfly, don't worry, forgetting is a part of life.. it happens." He said while hugging you from behind.
I guess he is right..

(Hiii you could ignore this if you want) imagine an AU where you have a miniature version of your soulmate with Vash? His obviously looks like his merch plush 🥺 You just got this little guy that follows you around that squeaks and stuff. Maybe the only thing the minis can say is their own name like pokemon. Your left exasperated that the humanoid typhoon is possibly your soulmate so you gotta like hide him in your pocket so no one gets wind of him.
A small fluffy filler. There’s probably misspellings galore or typos I’m so sorry lol.
A Mini Disaster — Vash The Stampede
Summary: Vash finds you in the desert after you take a tumble down the dune chasing a tiny version of your yo be soulmate.
Tumblr media
A few years back, you finally received your own mini version of your soulmate, Vash. At first you thought it was impossible, that maybe you were mishearing the little guy, over the years it became clear that was just what he was saying. You were scared, you didn’t want to get in trouble because of the little guy, so you keep him hidden for the most part. Being a wanderer between cities though, you get to spend a lot of time with your mini-Vash.
He’s your only company out in the endless sands of this dusty old planet.
“Vash!” You hear him squeak from your pocket. A small smile graces your features as you look down at him, carefully scooping him into your hand and lifting him to your face. “What is it?” You coo.
“Is something the matter?”
He squeaked and ran around on your hand frantically, as if he were trying to tell you something. He’d only ever done such a thing when you first found him. Then suddenly and unexpectedly, he jumped from your hand and into the sands. You heart dropped as you screamed.
“Vash, wait!” You called out as you chased after him. He kept running, with no signs of stopping. The sands swallowed every step, slowing you from catching up to him anytime soon.
“You’ll get hurt.”
From the other side of the sand dune, you heard a similar shout. Decidedly ignoring it, you dove to the other side, tumbling your way down in a ball of grunts and groans. You stopped on your back, the dark sky above you filling your vision. Vash’s squeaking could be heard close to your head and a pair of footsteps neared.
“Hey! Are you okay?”
A blonde with blue eyes and a worried smile leaned into your sight, concern swimming in his eyes. “That was quite a tumble! Here, let me help you up.”
He held out his hand for you to take, quietly you grumbled as you took it. “Thank you.” He hoisted you up to your feet. Something about him seemed awfully familiar…that’s when you felt a soft bump against your ankle. Vash had run into your leg to catch your attention. Your heart fluttered as you scooped him into your hands.
“Vash! Don’t go running off like that it’s dangerous!” You fussed.
The man beside you spoke up, visibly confused. “Huh? Me?” He pointed to himself. You look to him with furrowed brows, your stomach churning.
“Is that your name or something?” You asked as you tucked away small Vash into your pocket. Thinking of it now, both your small companion and new friend here had very similar looks. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest as you met his gaze.
He smiled nervously. “Actually, it is.” He chuckles, rubbing the back of his head. “How’d you know?”
You freeze, your lips agape, softly trying to get the words out as you stare in wonder. “Wait.” Looking down at your pocket you took out your little companion again and presented it to the man.
“Vash!” Your companion chirped from your hand. A red hue spread across your mystery man’s face as he looked at your companion. There was a small look of confusion when his eyes flickered up to you.
“What is that?” He asked. Leaning forward, he prodded at the small thing with his pointer finger and a focused face. “It said my name…” He looked back up at you, his brows creasing.
Your chest began to grow warm alongside your face as you looked at him, realization just dawning upon you. Bussing excitement massed through you and you clenched your hands tightly. “It supposed to represent you…my soulmate.”
His eyes widen at your words and he begins to stumble. “Soul…mate…?” Chuckling nervously, he looks away. “What’s that? I’ve never heard of that before.” His voice is timid and gentle as he speaks.
A soft smile spreads across your face as you tilt your head at him, raising a brow in question. “You don’t know what a soulmate is?” His eyes flicker up to you and he shakes his head carefully. How he couldn’t know about soulmates is beyond you but you take pride in being able to explain this to him. Vash is intent on listening to you, with puppy like eyes and a small content smile.
“A soulmate is someone you were meant to be with, it’s like the universe decided that two people were made for each other and gave them a special bond. It’s meant to be.”
Mini-Vash climbed up your arm and into your shoulder where he nuzzled against your neck. You smiled at that and Vash pointed at your companion. “And that thing is supposed to be me?” He asks.
You nod my head. “Yeah, it tells up who our soulmate is and stays with us until we meet them.” Gently you pet his head, before you look back up at Vash, furrowing your brows. “You don’t have one?”
He shakes his head, his gaze lingering on the small version of him on you shoulder. “What happens to them on eve you meet your person?” A sadness creeps it’s way into his eyes, hearing the what you said earlier he feels it’s not a good thing but you smile reassuringly.
“He gets to stay with me.”
Vash’s eyes light up again and he smiles brightly as he looks at his tiny self. “It’s so cute.” He looks back up at you with that face, that adorable look. “If I’m being honest, you are too.” Smiling sheepishly, his face flushes. You chuckle as your heart fluttered in your chest.
“Well, Vash The Humanoid Typhoon. You don’t seem as bad as they make you out to be. Why don’t you come with me? Get yo know one another.” His eyes soften at your offer and he nods. “That sounds wonderful. I’d love too.”

Stretchmarks
Summary: Vash learns about those little markings he's seen on his lover, and oh God does he fall head over heels.
Authors Note: This is written with Tristamp! Vash in mind, and this idea was sparked by this post :) This is written as a fem! reader. I hope you all enjoy! (Also, here's your tag @blackkiwi! I hope you like it :) I went in a bit of a different direction so I might revisit this idea in the future!!)
Warnings: Mild nudity, sexual themes, self-hate.
Tumblr media
Vash didn’t understand it—how could someone so beautiful, holding something so unique and precious, hate themselves and their markings? He felt bad for staring, he really did, but the damp air from the shower seemed to settle around her, water droplets becoming stars and her eyes morphing in a galaxy of possibilities. She, though, didn’t seem to understand his awe. All she saw was the man she loved staring at a part of her she didn’t hate, per se, but rather didn’t love completely. He knew he should’ve looked away, apologized and let her know that he was stunned with adoration, not disgust. Yet he didn’t. Like the fool he was, and always will be, he didn’t have the bravery to confess.
“Ah, sorry,” with a nervous grin she had tried to cover her hips, where the most prominent of her stretch marks were. “I didn’t know you were coming back so soon.” She grabbed her things and shuffled back into the bathroom, wearing only her underwear and a towel loosely draped over her shoulder, “I was just getting my clothes.” With a quiet click, the bathroom door shut and the room was plunged into a somber darkness.
Idiot, he bit at himself, why did you just stare? The patterns though, those curlings lines and loveable little dots and spots, it reminded him of himself; when he looked in the mirror and saw his face staring back, covered in blue lines that marked him as alien, foreign. Was she. . . like him? He turned to look at the bathroom door, listening to the quiet rustling within. No, he thought, she’s human. But there was something so remarkable about those lines, he couldn’t stop thinking.
Like me, she’s like me.
Later they sat in their shared room, the silence acting as a tyrant, holding its grip tight and solid over the melancholic atmosphere. Neither one had spoken since she had retreated to the bathroom an hour earlier; she being silent out of fear and embarrassment, and he out of nervousness and curiosity.
After finishing getting ready for the night, she laid in her bed across the room. Vash, on the other hand, was sitting criss-crossed in his, staring at his fumbling hands.
“You know,” he said, cringing at the abruptness of his voice, “I think you’re really pretty.”
She shuffled slightly in bed, blankets falling off her shoulders, “thank you, I appreciate it. You’re pretty as well.”
He blushed at the compliment—thump, thump, thump, beat his heart. It roared at him to confess, to open his mouth and say everything he wanted too. He didn’t. He fiddled with his hands and lightly tapped his cheek to cool the scorching redness that had overtaken him. “Earlier,” his voice was quiet, a pip-squeak of a noise, “I didn’t mean to stare.”
“It’s okay.”
He started to disengage his prosthetic arm, small clicks and whirs making the silence seem louder than before. “I—” he gently set his arm on the ground beside his bed, rubbing the raw and sore flesh. He didn’t often sleep without his arm, for a fear of being attacked in the middle of the night, but his body couldn’t handle it much longer. It pulled and gnawed on his shoulders, making his entire body ache with a pain he can only describe as deafening. “I hope I didn’t hurt your feelings, but if I did, I apologize.”
She finally turned over, watching as he hopelessly stared at her with a twinge of fear and. . . something else she couldn’t describe. “You didn’t do anything wrong,” she smiled softly, “I was jus’ thinking.” She could never be mad at him—not that she was mad at him in the first place, in fact, she had only felt mild embarrassment towards the whole situation. The day had been long, and even if he hadn’t caught her getting out of the shower, she would’ve been quiet and exhausted—, and looking at him now only made her feel like she was gazing at a kicked puppy.
He tilted his head, “about what?”
“My body,” she huffed and sat up, “you know those days?’ Her voice was a little quiet, less teasing than it usually was, and so, painfully somber.
He understood. Sometimes he’d sit out in the desert, watch the sunset and wonder why he felt so unnatural; as if he wasn’t a person, but a thing occupying space in a body that didn’t belong to him. And sometimes he’d cover up mirrors with his coat, afraid to look into them and see what he really looked like. And other times he’d look down at himself and shove back the tears because he was a mural of pain and he wouldn’t have it any other way but God, did he wish there were other options. And sometimes he’d simply lay in bed and think about everything he hated about himself, starting with his personality and then moving on to his actions, and then he’d think about his body and then he really felt the pain because he belonged to this prison of flesh and bone, this sacred thing, and he had managed to decimate it in so many ways it would never be able to recover. And, sometimes, he hated how he looked because she deserved better. And sometimes he, without any reason really, despised the man he was, and the way he looked. So, yes, he understood those days. He understood better than anyone really; and it made his heart hurt thinking she had felt the same way.
In his eyes she was the most beautiful thing. She rivaled the stars, the ones he watched on that ship all those years ago. The greenery of flora and the nature of Earth couldn’t even compare. And even if some Goddess was to descend from the heavens, bearing all her glory and luxury at her bosom, he would deny it and find himself back in her arms. In his eyes, she was worth everything and more.
He stumbled over to her bed, momentarily forgetting himself as he slammed into the mattress with an abundant lack of grace and caution. “I get it, I do,”
She blinked at him.
“Somedays I–I hate myself and sometimes I can’t even look in the mirror, and really almost everyday I can’t even look at myself,” he forgot he had taken his prosthetic off, trying to grab her face with his hand. He paused and cursed a little under his breath, stub awkwardly hanging between them. “I forgot I took that—okay whatever,” he used his other hand to grab her face, fingers tracing her jaw, “but you know what makes me feel better about myself?”
She huffed a little and laughed, crossing her arms. “What?” she asked playfully.
“You.”
She smiled softly, “I’m glad I can help.” A little sliver of anxiety still rested in her eyes.
He took a deep breath and steeled his resolve. “Yeah, so, let me help you this time,” he sat back on his knees, suddenly realizing how close he was. “If–if that’s okay. . .?” All his confidence, his burning determination to help, dissipated into the air and floundered about his mind in a wave of unease and mild embarrassment.
She glanced down at herself, thumbing the edge of her shirt before nodding, “alright,” she wrapped her arms around his neck, “you’ve convinced me.” She gave a nervous smile, one unsure of what was going to happen but trustful in the one before her—she had no doubts that he would keep her safe, happy, and comfortable.
He let out a goofy grin, slowly pushing her back onto the bed, “okay so um,” he stared down at her, blushing a delicious red as he slowly came to understand what position they were in. Her arms were slightly settled to the side, hands above her head and chest slowly rising with each suspenseful breath. Utterly divine, was the only description he could think of. “Uh, could you. .  uh, take your shirt off, maybe?” He wanted to cry when he realized his voice had cracked—uncool, so uncool.
She laughed, “alright, what are you really trying to do?” She grabbed the ends of her shirt and whisked it off, tossing it somewhere in the room. Neither of them really cared where it landed.
He waved his hand in the air and panicked, “no! No! I promise I’m not trying to do anything like that unless you want that—or, I mean, not right now! Uh, sorry!” His hands slapped over his face, covering the vague blue markings that had begun to peak through his skin.
She let out a boisterous laugh and grabbed his hips, lovingly drawing circles into his skin, “calm down, I was joking, pretty boy.”
The tips of his ears turned red, nearly drowning out his wonderful, brilliant blue, “pretty boy,” he mumbled. “Where’d that come from?” he squeaked out.
“Jus’ tellin’ the truth,” she hummed, “now, why is my shirt off?”
“Oh!” his hands flew off his face and came to settle on her torso, nervously pressing into her skin. “I wanna—well, can I see your markings?” he leaned a little closer, tempted to put his forehead to hers, but he was too scared—what if she knows what that means? What if she hates doing that? What if she hates me?
“Markings?” she raised an eyebrow, “what do you mean?”
“On your hips.”
“Hips?”
He gently hooked the edge of her pants, looking up at her for permission and when she gave it, he pulled them down slightly, revealing the little lines he had been so obsessed with earlier. Despite everything in him trying to keep his smile back, he couldn’t. “These,” he mumbled, tracing the marks with his fingers. His markings, no longer dull and scared, flowed to the surface of his skin and danced along his fingers. “They’re really pretty.” He wanted to see them in their entirety, observe how they rested along her skin and how they intertwined with one another—that would require less. . . clothing, and the thought made him blush madly, making his markings blink a bright blue for a moment.
She grabbed his hand and gave him a questioning look, “they’re not markings, they’re stretchmarks.”
He tilted his head.
“It’s like. . . little scars from when our skin stretches or shrinks too fast,” she smiled somberly, “they’re not as precious as your markings.”
He huffed and went back to caressing her skin, “I still think they’re amazing.”
“Not many people do,” she closed her eyes and savored the feeling of his touch, “so I appreciate it. Thank you.”
He hesitated and pulled his hands back, “do you. . . do you have more?”
She hummed.
“Can I see them? If that’s okay with you?!”
She sighed and opened her eyes, “you love them that much?” A slight bit of hesitance, disbelief.
A child-like joy seeped into his voice, “yes! They’re like mine, but they’re so much prettier.”
She blinked, a small embarrassed expression coming to rest upon her face. “I mean, if you really want, I can show you.”
He grinned excitedly and sat patiently on the bed as his lover slowly shimmed out of her pants, leaving them hidden by only two, thin articles of clothing that covered barely anything (not that he minded, but he was trying his hardest to focus on the markings solely—he didn’t want to be a creep. He was also trying to ignore the fact that this was only the third time he had seen her so vulnerable before. It made his heart soar, thinking that she trusted him so). After a moment, she returned back to bed and presented her thighs, where stretch marks were painted across her skin like a mural of heaven. “Here’s some more. They’re mostly on my legs and hips.”
“Oh,” he breathed out, “they’re a lot prettier up close.” He leaned down and pressed his forehead to her legs, closing his eyes. For a moment, he could’ve sworn he felt her very soul, as if he was connecting to a plant, and he shuddered out a sigh. “So, so, pretty.” He was lost in her now, gently tracing his fingers along her skin, nose buried into the side of her leg and he cherished every giggle and breathy laugh that came from his lover.
“I never knew you’d like ‘em so much,” she tangled her fingers in his hair, tugging slightly when he got a little too dazed and trailed his head up further than he should’ve.
He kissed the inside of her thigh, “they’re so. . . you’re so beautiful.”
She smiled softly, “you are too.”
The compliment flew over his head, focused solely on the Goddess before him. The divinity that had graced his presence. He sloppily kissed her thigh again, trailing his love up and up and—
She tugged on his hair, “hey,” she warned, “you’re getting a little too close there, pretty boy.”
He stared up and blinked, chin settled in between her legs and nose dangerously close to the bottom of her underwear. It took a moment for him to come back to reality, realizing that he was in a position he’d only dreamed about. “Oh,” he blinked again. “I’m sorry!” he shot up and rested back on his knees. With her hand still in his hair, he was slightly bowed forward, eyes deliciously plastered to her legs.
“Don’t apologize,” she whispered, “you’re fine.”
He whined a little, “I made you uncomforta—”
“When did I say that?”
He peered up at her through his eyelashes, watching her coy smirk expand into a sly smile. He stumbled over his words and quickly decided it would be better to shut up. What’s happening? Wasn’t she supposed to be yelling at him? Ashamed he had given into his desires a little too much? This was supposed to be about her, and how wonderful she was. Not him and his inability to hide his lustful curiosity.
“In fact,” she tugged on his hair a little more, forcing him to crawl halfway on top of her to stop the dull pain in his scalp—he really didn’t mind it though, which made him rethink some things about himself. “I really enjoyed it.”
His markings glowed so bright, she had to look away for a moment. She snickered and brought one hand to his chin, the other leaving his hair and slowly trailing down his chest. “If I’m being honest,” she sighed, “I didn’t really like my stretch marks. They’re ugly and gross, but,” she stopped trailing her hand down when she got to the hem of his pants, “you made me feel better about them.” She smiled.
“I’m glad!” he nervously grinned and tried to adjust himself so the position would be less. . . intimate, but she didn’t let him. Part of him was begging her to do something, and the other part of him was screaming with fear and embarrassment so loudly he almost didn’t hear what she said next.
“So,” she drawled out, “if it’s okay with you, can I help you feel good?”
“What?” he squeaked. “Like–what? What does that mean?” Oh my god, he cried to himself, I’m an idiot! He beat down a whine that threatened to erupt from his mouth and squeezed his eyes shut. He wanted the ground to swallow him up and never let him go.
She wrapped her legs around his waist and pressed herself into him, hips bucking up and creating a delicious friction. He sucked in a strangled gasp and let his face fall into the crook of her neck, “sen–sensitive!” he cried. He gripped her waist, fumbling for a moment before once again realizing he had taken his prosthetic off. Vaguely he wondered if he should put it back on, but she bucked again and all thoughts fell out of his mouth as he cried.
“What do you say?” she purred, “up for a little fun?”
“You’re a,” he panted and ground his hips into her, muffling his moans in her flesh, “a tease.” He shouldn’t be doing this, should he? Should he have asked before he pressed himself into her, or was that normal? He didn’t know what he was supposed to be doing here.
“C’mon pretty boy, I have to hear a yes,”
“Y–yes!” He whined and ignored the blue light that bathed them both—this is so embarrassing.
“Good boy.”
He squeaked and buried his face deeper into her neck, “oh my god.” This was going to be the death of him—not that he really minded.
