Regressor!Lestat de Lioncourt Headcanons

(I already made a moodboard for tv!Lestat, so he gets the first set of headcanons! These headcanons are based on both the TV show and The Vampire Lestat.)

Background/Plot Headcanons:

as a mortal, Lestat was a caregiver to Nicki

Lestat himself didn't regress until he was turned into a vampire, and it hit him hard partially in response to the trauma of his turning

felt deep guilt that he wasn't there to take care of Nicki when he was falling apart after Lestat's disappearance, felt inadequate as a caregiver because of his grief

Gabrielle had a... complicated reaction to Lestat's regression, both understanding it but not wanting to feel "tied down" to a maternal role by it

when Nicki was turned, he still didn't want Lestat anywhere near him when he regressed, and it exacerbated their falling-out

Lestat redirected his caregiver instincts towards Armand, who did enjoy the attention but also lashed out, making Lestat's regression worse on purpose to produce 'equality' between them

Lestat blamed his regression partially for Gabrielle and Nicki's abandonment, and locked that part of himself away before the New Orleans arc: the secrecy and denial fed into his resentment of both Louis and Claudia

Louis actually learns about Lestat's regression from Armand's stories and when Louis + Lestat get back together, Louis makes sure to save space for Lestat's regression, and it's a lot better for both of them that way

General Headcanons:

falls apart fast and then 'ages up' with equal speed, he doesn't spend much time drifting between

easily bored, doesn't like being alone or even sharing space quietly, he wants interaction at all times

book Lestat does not like dolls, but TV!Lestat likes them, because he lacks the Claudia-related trauma around them

defensively careless about his regression: generally keeps it hidden but plays it very 'oh, well, of course, it's nothing' when people realize it or bring it up

mile-a-minute storyteller, switches between French and English when he's over-excited

has a lot of fun dressing up, and will also do makeup on any hapless bystanders

in the modern era, an online shopping fiend, which would be a problem if he wasn't a multi-millionaire

Louis brings up pet regression and Lestat falls in love with it instantly: he's more of a pet dreamer because he doesn't really lose himself in it the same way

between age regression and pet regression, Lestat far prefers to be a puppy than a boy, but he still has to deal with involuntary regression on a fairly regular basis

all prepared for a little prince. fairy tales, comfy sheets and cotton guardians to care for this little one. mama knitted a fluffy little blanket; grandma brought a sweet lamb plush & daddy hanged little decorations in the ceiling, just for their tot be able to dream high, awake or asleep. this kid is loved.

a lovely request that i worked a lot on. anon asked me for a victorian/antique board, and i suppose it is for a room since it hasn't any specifications! you can request again if it's not as your like. :] /gen. i know it has a lot of beige and grey, so yea!! it's a little hard to find only blue things, and personally i think beige matches so very well with dark blue. :3 i would do a light/baby blue board too, but i dunno... let's see! >\\<

which colors would you paint your nursery? i would paint it in a dark moss green, probably, and match with beige and brown, or even white furniture! + have some montessori & handmade wall deco.. ^_^

I feel like he'd just describe his regression as "having some kid time"

Okay so no set age range, he's just a kid! Sometimes he's younger than others but he's fairly self sufficient.

But that doesn't mean he doesn't want to be babied!! And his regression is absolutely triggered (positively) by important people doting on him.

Grandma made cookies? "Sweet!! Thanks granny :)" Stan nodded approvingly at a repair he did? An almost silent "yuss"

He absolutely made a copy of Stan's hat out of paper and got really sad when the marker he used made the paper wet and thin so it didn't stay up right, but then he got the idea to use red construction paper and oh yeah it's coming together now!!

He's got one of those pens with a bunch of colours and uses it to doodle little ninja dudes on sticky notes, they're all cutting fruit and he leaves the sticky notes everywhere.

Also it's fun to take apart and put back together as a fidget.

"hey dudes I found this pen with like- nine different colors. I could draw so many fruit ninjas with this- like apples or strawberries or.. hey I need to look up more fruits!"

His regression isn't very noticeable if that makes sense? Like he's just so openly regressed like half the time that no one bats an eye when he does something childish because 'thats just how Soos is'

He's got a favorite cup and it's an off brand snack cup that has the spot for your snacks built into the lid. Stan bought a bunch for the store with the mystery shack logo and one had a defect so he let Soos keep it

He uses it basically every day, all the time, everywhere. "It's just so convenient!!"

Throughout the series (or I guess as summer progresses) Stan gets closer with Soos and I think this plays into Soos's regression in a positive way. Stan doesn't exactly become his caregiver but he watches for Soos, makes sure he's doing okay and draws with him from time to time.

I know it seems silly, but I always daydream about the idea of being treated like I'm a few months old, how much my mama n caregiver would adore and love little me. They put me in a crib n giving me my pacifier and being there for me to cry on their shoulder and adore me. Just treat me like the world to them and always be so sweet.

I have never felt wanted attention wise and love wise by a parent, so I use agere to cope with that parental part that I miss so much. I often at night lay down on my tummy and just look up at the bed, feeling too small to lift my head. :3 It sounds dumb but it makes me feel so tiny and thinking I have somebody here to help little me and love on me.
