Everybody talking about that Fire note change just reminded me of this thing I thought for a long time about how even though Jimin is not the main vocalist and doesn't have the most amount of lines his parts still end up being people's favorite. It's just crazy to me that Jungkook will be given 30% of every song and still struggle to catch people's attention. People talk about Jungkook being a better vocalist than Jimin and technically speaking that might be true but the problem is that he's also such a boring vocalist. His voice is very generic and there's a bunch of male singers who sound the same and on top of that he also doesn't experiment with his singing, he always goes for the most standard way of singing a note (remember his unasked for advice to Jimin about how to sing Who being basically him telling Jimin to remove his personal singing style and sing it in a basic way instead?). And I guess Jungkook being so painfully normal makes him more easily digestible to people and Jimin being so unique makes him an easier target but the real reason for that is that Jungkook's voice doesn't elicit any strong emotions, good or bad, from people while Jimin's voice does and people either love it or hate it but they all pay attention and remember it no matter what. And that's the difference between the two of them in general, it's a difference between basic and unique and there's a lot of people that prefer the safer choice but I will always pick the choice that actually makes me feel something.
I always think that those that hate his vocals so much and are convinced he can’t sing or whatever just don’t listen to any type of music outside of pop/kpop, because once you branch out to other genres, you will be introduced to so many unique vocalists. Maybe I’m wrong but I think in kpop, and kpop groups, having a very common/generic singing voice is what’s praised and celebrated, and they train you to sing that way, too.
I mean, look at how IU was rejected so many times from the major companies, and she’s now one of Korea’s top singers. I’m not a fan of her music, but from the songs I’ve listened to, she sings with so much emotion, and has a very unique voice, and I think in kpop groups that’s not really something that’s encouraged. So I agree with you, I like jk’s voice, and I think he’s a good vocalist. But by no means, extraordinary or remarkable. There’s a reason he said something about how he wants to sing as many pre-written songs with his voice because his voice will fit most pop music. But he’s not going to give you an album where you get so immersed in the song and feel any type of way. I’m sure he could cover face off or like crazy and it would probably sound just fine, but would he be able to pull off the spectrum of emotions jimin expresses in those songs through his voice?
That’s why technical vocal skill has never been the sole factor in guaranteeing someone’s success, longevity, or legacy as a musician. Like have you heard charli xcx or Lana del Rey? They’re famously not good vocalists, and even their fans acknowledge this, but they don’t care because they’re both great artists, who are incredibly creative, unique, and involved in the making of all their music. And also know how to own a stage. That’s what resonates, and not that they’re lip syncing their entire set.
Also, he’s consistently had the most vocally challenging parts of their songs to sing, and even jin, too. But somehow that isn’t acknowledged. Armys and kpop stans would rather just keep running with this story that he’s a bad vocalist like it’s a fact.

Revenged Love 11
I will say I don't get the sense that Suowei actually cares that much about what scary shit Chi Cheng has gotten up to in the bedroom, it's the idea that the men he's reportedly put cigarettes out on aren't Suowei and the knowledge that Suowei (believes he) wouldn't enjoy that himself that makes him crazyyyyyyyy
So I shouldn't assume he's more scared after Guo Chengyu's intervention than he was before lmao I think some part of him already knows and understands that he's chasing a terrifying human being, but that's HIS giant predator monster and he feels genuinely secure under his teeth.
Chengyu's attempted wedge fundamentally didn't work, if he was even trying that hard, but I'm still just like. CHENGYUUUUUUUUU WHY IS YOUR IDEA TO ADD "MORE FEAR" AND "MORE ISSUES" TO THIS ALREADY FRIGHTENED AND DEEPLY-ISSUES-RIDDEN MAN

Episode 4 is where Chi Cheng realizes this is becoming about a lot more than a sexual conquest, and Wu Suowei begins to realize revenge might not be his only motive.
The way CC pines for him constantly, calls him first thing in the morning just to say I want to fuck you because he's not even close to ready to say I love you yet.
The way WSW's hand relaxes as CC applies the medicine to his forehead injury and he gives in for just a moment to feeling safe and cared for with this man. And falls asleep feeling protected and loved, even though this disturbs him because it's so unexpected.
Wu Suowei has probably never been firmly chosen by a lover, and his revenge motive is spurred not only by the sting of rejection but the knowledge that Yue Yue had never loved him for himself in the first place, that she has only ever been interested in shallow appearances and the material benefits a man can offer. She made him feel like a loser and that's what hurt the most.
So CC's relentless pursuit of him becomes more confusing as it becomes more tender because he feels chosen and special. This confuses him because first of all, he's being chosen by a man, and second, he's never felt that fixed to someone else's feelings before. All he knows is "try hard to impress someone so they will love you," and it's working. But this is also when he starts feeling a little bit bad about the front he's putting up, and eventually, in a few more episodes, will fear that CC will stop loving him once he gets to know him for real. But ep 4 is where his armor begins to crack.
And Chi Cheng, who can have anyone he wants, has been enjoying the chase and toying with his prey until now. We know that he can be very tender toward and take great care of another because of how he cares for his snakes. And by how wounded he was by Wang Shuo. But it still comes as a surprise to him that he's starting to feel that way about WSW.
This is the episode where we also see how much Guo Chengyu longs for Chi Cheng. That moment where they're leaning on the cars outside the 181s Clinic and Chi Cheng takes the call then leaves mid-conversation, and GC mutters, "It's always the snakes." I feel so bad for him! And then we see him chasing this aloof guy (Jiang Xiaoshuai) who seems more attainable.
