[I’ve never actually had to blot lipstick, so, uh… If this isn’t how you do it, I’m sorry. I’m not a big makeup person. Also, I’m very, VERY sorry if your OC’s are out of character. I’m trying, I promise. I’ll fix anything that needs to be fixed as soon as I physically can.]

Ugh. The noise was horrible.

I sat on the counter of the bathroom, watching as Aria struggled to blot her lipstick. Sure, she was doing it decently well, but it was cakey in a few spots. Plus, the noise was disgusting. The stupid little smack as her lips parted around the tissue. I hated it. The noise was vile. Slightly fed up, I hopped off the counter and gently pulled the tissues from her hand. I pushed my thumb to her bottom lip. I pulled it off, sneering at the red stain. “Fuck, girl, you suck at this.” I stated plainly. Aria’s eyes narrowed at me. “And what, exactly, do you know about blotting lipstick?” She questioned. I just shrugged.

“Dated Pico. Got pretty good with makeup. So now I’m good at hiding hickeys, and I had to hide any stitches he decided to come back with,” I rolled my eyes and threw the tissues away. Quickly starting to do it myself. Gently prodding at her bottom lip in particular. “I’m doing this for you from now on,” I murmur. She just laughs, eyes closing as she lets me work.

I love her.

“Come on… What’s taking so long?!” I groan, lying down. “Gimme a minute-!” Ari calls back from her closet. “Why do you even keep your vanity in there anyway?” I hiss. Standing up, throwing the doors open. He yelps, whipping around so fast she nearly smudges his lipstick. “Dammit, Pico, I was just about to get it…” She groans, turning back to the mirror. “…get what?” I question, brows furrowing.

“Lipstick.” He states. “You scared me, and now I’m having to fix it again.” Ari huffs. I just stare as she wipes it off and goes to reapply the stuff. I was bringing Ari with me because she promised to make some sort of poison for the mission. “We’re gonna be late. Can you just let me help?” I sigh and start to walk towards him. She turns, confused. “You know how to put on lipstick? And blot it-?” He asks. “Yeah. Blue’s dumbass made me help him. So just… Here,” I carefully move a few things aside and sit on the vanity, making sure it was stable enough.

“…there,” I finally mumble, putting the cap back on the little tube with a grin. The application was just about perfect. “Do you want me to blot it anyway? It doesn’t look cakey anywhere.” Ari nods, silently handing me a few tissues. I grin. “Not what I meant,” I laugh and lean in for a kiss. It catches him off guard, and I can feel Ari’s face heat up. I pull back. Snickering, watching as she struggled to comprehend what just happened. I take the tissues from his hand and wipe off whatever carried onto my own face before picking her up and walking out the door.

It’s quiet. I know where Delilah is. She’s busy, off in our bedroom with her makeup. I don’t really know what to do. But I do know that we need to hurry up. Before anyone covers up my graffiti, or worse, the cops find it.

“Delilah?” I call out, poking my head in. She turns to look at me, lipstick half-applied. She hums, her head tilting to the side. I just grin a little. “You doin’ okay? I don’t exactly know how much time we have,” I explain, looking at the hallway. Random bits of paint are scuffed; I can see it, even in the dim lighting. Delilah just shrugs and turns back to the mirror. “The shade doesn’t seem right today, which is weird, since this is the one I normally use.” She complains. It’s tempting to tease. “Fuck it,” I think, silently walking up behind her and resting my head on her shoulder. “What’s the point of applying it if I’m just gonna smudge it later?” I prompt.

She takes a second. Then she laughs with an eye roll, gently pushing my head away. “Flatterer,” she mumbles, turning back to her makeup. “...you want help? I had to do this once with Nene. She messed it up, and we had some sorta stealth mission thing…” I shrug and look down at Delilah. She looks sceptical, but finishes her application and hands me a few tissues. “You can blot it,” she replies, pushing her lips into a soft pout for better access. I shrug and quietly start to dab any excess off.

The only sound is the ticking of the clock in the background, though I don’t really hear it. I’m just focused on her. After a few moments, she pulls her head away from my hand, looking at herself in the mirror. “Perfect,” Delilah chirps and pushes a gentle kiss to my cheek. I just throw the tissues away, grabbing her hand and starting to walk. “C’mon, I got a thing to show ya,” I say. She squeals in delight, knowing it’s something nice I’ve managed to set up.
