Regaining clarity

Hange is still filled with blinding rage, but unlike Zeke's taunting, Levi's casual remark snaps them right out of it. Suddenly they're filled with the familiar shame from all that they've done, now including leaving their sister alone on the side of the road to bleed out. How could they?!

Watching Hange spiraling makes something in Levi's chest twinge. Before their despair reaches its peak though, he finds himself comforting them.

The relief that flows through Hange is instantaneous. They forcefully ignore the doubt gnawing at them. After all, out of the two of them Levi isn't the one to lie, right? Essie's going to be alright. She has to.

🌸These are actually the first pages I drew on paper when I switched mediums, they've been (im)patiently waiting to get posted for a while now. I really wanted to use watercolours but the paper wasn't good for it so I coloured them digitally with a brush that had a similar effect. :D It was quite time consuming so I didn't colour the pages in between to get here faster.😆🌸

Zeke's titan is not really made for close combat, but he sure knows how to hit where it hurts. Hange sees red as the carefully controlled rage they've been suppressing for years boils over.

Levi can't believe he's being forced to save that ape bastard's ass, how the hell did they get here? He makes it in the nick of time too, but just as he's about to let out a sigh of relief on their airship he's smacked right in the nose.

🌸I don't really have a name for this part, but I've been waiting a while to get here. I love drawing Hange angry. Levi having to save Zeke is so ironic to me, no one involved is happy about this. At least he gets to drag him by the hair as a consolation.😆 Hange's jaw is strong enough to get through Zeke's whole neck to the nape, they've got that hyena bite. So I guess they're more jaw than beast in the end.🌸

While heading to where he's supposed to "kill" Zeke, Levi spots a kid that looks suspiciously familiar. Problem is, the kid seems to be unconscious, and he's running out of time. In the end he decides he can spare a few more minutes checking she's alright. Wouldn't it be cruel not to when it seems four-eyes was telling the truth after all?

Turns out kids are the same everywhere, and this one is staring up at him with familiar stubbornness in her eyes. Their conversation is interrupted by titans suddenly being near, but Levi couldn't have guessed which ones he'd see fighting. What the hell does Hange think they're doing?

The brat looks at him with accusation, and sure, he's more involved than he'd ever wanted to be, but this is not part of the plan. Hange wasn't part of the plan. The kid's explanation gives his stomach a sick feeling, but before he can formulate an answer they're interrupted again, this time by marleyan foot soldiers, who obviously see him as a threat.

After making sure he's not leaving the kid to the wolves he takes off. Time to continue with the plan and deal with the surprises.

🌸Hi I'm baaack and so is Levi! I was kinda struggling again but I also really liked having Levi and Essie interact! :D I think the next part will be the most tough one so far for me to draw. (cough titans cough) Also I'll probably keep this style for at least one more part, the one after that is a little different (it's the one I drew a while back that's just waiting) and idk what visual style I'll use from then on, but that's the fun of it, I can do whatever I want. >:)

Essie refers to Hange with she/her btw, since there's no coming out in Marley.🌸
