I think I'm coming close to the end of my "author" road, and it's bittersweet! I'm glad I tried it, but I just don't think there's a point when none of what I write is marketable in any way. You get told a lot of lies early on like "building your backlist will help" and "your readers will find you" and I def fell for the lies LOL. I'm sure I'll keep writing in some capacity, but just for myself because I'm realizing I'm the only person who likes what I like!

Yes, I know I only come to Tumblr to complain but it's because none of my posts get seen so I don't see the point in posting here anymore. For now, I'll keep marketing my next (and probably last) book, but eventually I'll be done.

I love the library. I live in the US so I use my card regularly for ebook and physical books. But, not every person in every country has that same access. The library does not have a lot of smaller indie authors like KU does. I don’t think making people feel silly for wanting/subscribing to KU is the answer. And you can actually have both at the same time (no one’s stopping you). I took advantage of a two month free trial and then cancelled after simply because I personally don’t read enough to justify the purchase, BUT many people read a lot more than me.

Ok, I've seen this sentiment before, but the amount of Kindle Unlimited ads I've been seeing is forcing me to repeat it-

Kindle Unlimited is offering two free months of unlimited ebooks. As a trial. Which will then become a paid subscription.

Your local library is offering unlimited ebooks all the time. Forever. No contracts, no predatory practices, no tracking of how long you spend on each particular page in the hopes that information about your habits can be sold for a profit.

Use your library. They want so badly to give you all of the things for free.
