An illustration I did for class, my first attempt to paint with volume 👀 it was something new that I never experienced before, I have always wanted to paint in different styles or different colouring but I have never tried it until I had to do this job, it was so exciting and I am so happy with the result (⁠ ⁠ꈍ⁠ᴗ⁠ꈍ⁠)

Hope you all like it too! 🩵

1.- The sketch: I always loved fairy oak and since I was a child I always wanted to incorporate that kind of style into my drawings to honour the art that made me whom I am today and made me persuade an art career! 🙂‍↕️

2.- Plane colours: to visualize how I wanted my illustration to be!

3.- Color key 👀 to visualize how I wanted the illustration to be with lights, I'm still learning to do the lights and shadows

Some things could be different from that sketch to plane colours or final because I started with this and then I realised that I had skipped steps so I went back and fixed some things that didn't quite convince me 🫠

4.- an attempt with color gradients and textures

5.- in that moment I started doing the hair, the dress and the eyes...I wanted her eyes to look like a blood elf of World of Warcraft so I started erasing some lines for her eyes and doing her hair, hair by hair, I wanted her to have little ringlets so I imagined that the hair could be like a croissant, I have curly hair myself (but I'm brunette) so I did some photos of my hair to have of reference.

At first I deleted the hair that I was doing and I wanted to cry but lucky for me I had some strands in another file I had saved before 🥹

In the first image I tried the idea of the blood elf, I lowered the opacity of the layer but you can still see in the ear that it was going to be much longer

6.- and Final! 🫠🩵 It took me over two weeks to have it finally complete, it was the first moment I did that type of colouring and I'm impressed and proud of how cool the result was! At that moment I did the lights and shadows that I had left to finish and painted some flags in the background to make it look better, I was inspired by a WoW image of a red-haired girl with curly hair and of the curly hair of Brave and Moana
