Chapter 1: Mira
“I’ll be your idol…” As if Abby isn't bad enough normally, he comes out tonight wearing tight leather pants and almost knee-high boots. And...god. Mira is so dead when she realizes he's wearing black fingerless gloves (also leather). He cockily struts to the center of the Saja Boys and stomps forward. Hard. Hard enough that she feels it in her chest. One dangerously long, clawed finger presses to his temple as he tilts his head to the side. Their eyes meet in the darkness. She gulps, but can’t look away. When that finger leaves to sway at the crowd, it points right at Mira, and when he brings his hand back in, she follows.
I wrote a KPDH fanfic where Huntr/x lose and join the Your Idol performance. 😈
Keeping you in check, keeping you obsesssed (You can't look away, no one is coming to save you) AO3
When Rumi rejects Celine and her teachings, rejects the Honmoon she swore to protect, and leaves Celine behind for good, she goes to Namsan Tower. But she doesn’t interrupt the Saja Boys’ performance at the end of the world. Doesn’t stand up to Gwi-Ma. Doesn’t break the spell over Mira and Zoey. Doesn’t show Jinu that there is still hope for both of them. The voice in her head is too strong. Unlovable. Liar. Deceiver. Mistake. So, Your Idol goes differently. This time, with three extra special guests.
This one goes out to everyone who watched that scene (you know the one) and came away really wishing the bad guys won, and we got to see Huntr/x give in to their desires and get with their demon boy band crushes.

New Frogvasion post. Yeah, this is absolute peak.
God, I'm praying we get that incident in the next part of Luz's Journal, because I'm 99% sure I know what you're referring to, and I NEED to see it on paper.
Also, "Titan HRT" lmao 😂.
Following along with this AU from the very beginning is so much fun as the pieces come together, becaues the whole 'infinite powersource' thing...yeah, I can trace back to your other lore posts and know what that is, and more importantly, why it works the way it does!
Full-Titan Luz could definitely ragdoll Sasha around on the battlefield with that size difference 💀. (Unfortunately the only results will be comical in nature, as my beloved wielder of Strength can't be beat!)
RE the Frogvasion of the Boiling Isles AU, Luz is slowly regaining her titan powers and form by the time the Calamity Trio rock up and this is an ongoing process by the time she's captured.
What's she looking like when she's captured and how quickly is she changing and how powerful is she? How quickly is she gaining in power as she stays in Newtopia Citadel and trains with Sasha? Does she have any real hope of ever standing against just one of them. you've mentioned that Sasha's killed local demigods before. Does The Core have any particular special interest in her, beyond potentially getting a good vassal ruler for the isles? Any interest in her being the only human it's seen other than the trio (earth being offf limits to it and all) and that she also has some kind of divine power?
Between the end of the show and firs 7-ish months of Frogvasion, Luz looks the same as she always did (growthspurt aside), and isn't really regaining anything because whatever titan powers was left from papa titan are entirely dormant. Briefly getting demititan powers did leave an impact on her, but it doesn't express itself in any way because her puny magic-less human soul doesn't have the power to do anything magical. To put it in layman's terms, papa titan's soul was her battery and now it's out of charge.
So unless something that is as powerful or more than a fully grown titan pops up out of the blue, she'll remain human and not even know there's anything else inside her for the rest of her life.
Tumblr media
Oh hey look it's a duo of gods more powerful than a fully grown titan that popped out of the blue.
After an incident that will hopefully get covered in the next issue of Luz's Journal (still working on that it has some complicated illustrations), Luz turns into a demititan.
Now that it has been awakened, whatever lingering titanstuff left behind is fully merged with her. Hettie and Viney call her the magical equivelant of a genetic chimera - titan and human in equal (not literally she's more human than titan) measure, in both body and soul.
Her magic is now part of her, she doesn't need to "refuel" with outside magic or rely on a real titan's soul because her soul is part titan. The downside is that it's low-yield, her glyphs aren't as powerful and her spell are average at best, and she has no way of becoming more powerful without an outside powersource.
Tumblr media
Oh look a literally infinite outside powersource.
I'm not gonna get into how this happens, because spoiler, but it does and Luz turns into this.
Tumblr media
It's temporary - once it runs out she turns back into demititan mode, and she doesn't know how to turn back though Sasha has offered to train her in the hopes that she'll figure it out (and they can have a proper fight, because Sasha has No Ulterior Motives and Definitely Isn't Lying).
Could Luz beat Sasha in this state?
Short answer; No. A fully grown titan doesn't stand a prayer of a chance against Sasha because nothing does.
Long answer; Luz has one very big advantage over Sasha that does make her a genuine challenge; She's versatile. Sasha has infinite raw power but it's only expressed through strength and flame (and some mild lesser powers like healing and levitation but it's not what her powers are meant for). Titan magic, as we've seen in the show, can do basically everything. Luz is less powerful than Sasha, but she has an infinite array of applications for her powers that Sasha does not. Specialist vs Generalist.
That said, Luz's main disadvantage compared to Sasha is that her powers are temporary. As I said, she can only maintain her demititan form under her own power - going full titan like this requires outside power that runs dry eventually, whereas Sasha's power is infinite and will never run dry (Luz doesn't know this, as far as she knows the titanform is inside her which is why she's training to regain it).
(post got long, answer to the last paragraph in companion post)

Ain't no way. Ain't no fucking way.
I'm rewatching that scene (you know the one), and yeah yeah, we all know Abby is wearing a mesh top (as is Romance; MiRoAbby is canon wow, you can't tell me those two weren't planning on making Mira combust with their outfits), and he's wearing tight leather pants, and he's the only one wearing those damn near knee-high boots, but.
How the hell did I just notice he's the only one wearing fingerless gloves????? Hellooooooo?? 😭
Tumblr media
Mira is an infinitely stronger person than me, because if a demon boyband member stomped up to me dressed like this, I'm folding in an instant. Sorry not sorry. The world can be doomed for all I care. I'm getting some of that.

And of course, none of this has even factored in what the girls having Calamity powers would do to the various religions and their own relationship with said beliefs.
The frogs may not have any gods, but at the same time, Anne is the closest thing they've ever seen to one when she powers up. She's not of their land, or of anywhere in Amphibia at all, she controls power that seems to break the rules of reality as they know it (Maddie would be the judge of this), and she's their ordained savior and protector. It probably wouldn't start up immediately since Wartwood all remember her as a infant, but as time went on and she grew into adulthood and a symbol of Frog Valley, there would surely be some religious elements cropping up based on her.
Now, her self-confidence and self-image probably wouldn't let her buy into that hype if it came up, and she'd be uncomfortable by it all. She's just a simple farm girl doing her part! That's all!
Marcy would be in a similar boat when she starts utilizing her powers, because Andrias and the Core would use it to reinforce how special and important she is, but at the same time, they'd still be keeping her self-confidence down and grooming her to stay within the lines and obey them.
So there's the added angst of her knowing she's got this greater potential, but at the same time, refusing to ever indulge in it beyond her duties to her father and their god because the religious guilt hits her really hard if she tries to be 'selfish'.
Sasha may have claimed Barrel's warhammer, but as word of her powers and feats spreads, her reputation would grow beyond simply being an annoited one. There would still be lots of pushback from traditionalists such as Aldo and the like who see her as an abomination and usurper, but to the masses, when they see her burning with otherworldly, fiery energy and wreaking destruction on a scale they didn't think possible while wielding their Saint's weapon, how could her own image not rise to that station? She's the Lord of all Toads, the first wielder of Saint Barrel's warhammer in forever. She's as powerful a warrior there's been. She's distinctly bigger and taller and oh so very clearly other. That's a god-like figure in the making, no?
The fact that the frogs of frog valley believe in no gods vs. The fact that toads are heavily religious and have many toad saints vs. The fact that the Leviathans believe themselves to be artificial demigods secretly worshipping their own artificial god... the religious conflict there makes the Order of the Olm's simple animism seem normal.

Oh crap. In all your worldbuilding of Starry Night Hymnal, the religious aspect never crossed my mind. But yeah, it would make for some conflict between the trio if you wanted to go that route!
Poor Marcy has been indoctrinated into thinking she's an ordained sacrifice/future host for the Core, and that this is good and what she is 'meant for'. Plus, depending on how you handle her relationship with the Core (as chapter 7 of SNH establishes that she's used to going down in the basement to the Core), you might have it feeding her whispers in the back of her head to reinforce said indoctrination about her being a special sacrifice for it, and it being a god she is meant to serve. Naturally, this goes very poorly with the other two for a variety of reasons.
Meanwhile Anne is straight chilling, relatively speaking. Yeah, she's got all of her issues from Hop Pop and Wartwood treating her as they have, but hey, at least there's no religious guilt or trauma going on! Just general parentification and moral guilt. :)
And then there's Sasha, who I think is very open-ended in this topic and kind of the most interesting of the trio? She's obviously aware of the significane of toad saints and that Barrel is the most important one, and she's grown up embedded in toad culture, but also...I do wonder how attached she is to all of it. How much she buys into all of it.
Like, her and Grime's dynamic is very fraught and complex, and she lacks that parental figure type whom she trusts to bring her into this kind of religious stuff like Marcy does with Andrias and Anne would with Hop Pop if the frogs had a religion.
(I know there's Percy and Braddock, but also I can see Sasha being emotionally stunted and defiant enough that she just refuses to buy into the toad saints stuff on principle.)
Which then leads into the very fun part of the story where after she usurps Grime at the Southern Toad Tower, she (presumably) cements her claim to power by pulling Barrel's warhammer out of the narwhal worm and slaying the legendary beast that killed the toads' most important saint, annoiting herself as Barrel's chosen and the lord of all toads. And she may be an abominaton in the eyes of toads like Aldo, but also, what can they really do when she's invoking the name and image of Saint Barrel the Brave??
Then the question becomes: how much is Sasha buying into her own hype?
Obviously, she's going to play into the narrative because the toads believe in their religion, and reinforcing that image and narrative keeps herself safe and in control. (This, of course, makes her control issues and relationship with power all the worse.) But then does she start to genuinely believe it as time goes on?
Alternatively, if Sasha does believe in the toad religion from the start, then her claiming Barrel's warhammer creates a power complex bad enough to rival the Leviathans.
Like, she and Marcy would be in the same boat of being intimately connected and important to their religious figures, but whereas Marcy is reminded and groomed to be subservient, a sacrifice, and to not really grow an ego or go beyond her station (if I'm remembering correctly from your other lore posts), Sasha is enabled to do whatever she wants because Barrel isn't around to talk to her, Grime has been deposed, and she's the most powerful Toad Lord with a religious-like air surrounding her. To quote Homelander: she can do whatever the fuck she wants.
Just the worst I'm god's special soldier so I can do no wrong :) energy.

Darcy aura-farming with this 😭 good for them. It's like a sicko Magneto-esque style with all the whirring metal flying around and carving people up. Also Sasha has enchanted armor. Curious 👀. My assumption is that it's enchanted because otherwise, it'd be destroyed by her strength and/or fire, and then she'd be stuck in the middle of a battle without it. (Even if she can't really die, it probably wouldn't be fun to have no armor.) Plus, the hassle and annoyance of having to constantly be getting new armor because you melted/broke your old set.
Also, Darcy in that tunic is so clean. The little bits of gold really pop next to their hair and eyes. Also, their pose is so cool and evil, hehe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Emperor of Numberless Worlds prefers to rely on the defenses of her castle, which respond to her slightest whim, but should someone succeed in catching it without them then she is not without personal armaments. Though it lacks the telekinetic powers of her queens or the Lord General's enchanted armour, it has achieved a close fascimile with magic and Telemorian tech, infused into the symbol of her power.
In battle, the iron halo above the Emperor's head can be used as a tool of cutting as is, or split into 64 smaller shards, each with enough power to slice through metal, wood, and flesh without issue. She has had little reason to use this weapon so far, but Heart's sovereign help those who find themselves on the receiving end

Felt like Darcy deserved its own wacky weapon to kill people in gruesome ways with. Next part of Luz's journal is in the works

Luz's Journal drop part 2 om nom nom
So the Collector is around for the events of Frogvasion. Interesting. Does his whole "sanctity of life -> no fighting" thing apply to using the puppet stickers on the invaders? Obviously they wouldn't work on the frobots because...they're robots, but for Anne and Sasha, the stickers would be an option in theory. Of course, if that was allowed under their philosophy, it would be easy to write a scene of trying it on Sasha in battle or Anne while she's down in the world, only for it to not work (while also being a cool and badass feat for Sasha/Anne to shrug off the mind control/pacifying effects).
King's weh not stopping whatever powers the frobots is something. I know Calamity energy runs the factories that produce the frobots (at least, as we see in the canon), but afterwards, they seem to run on their own power supply independent of the Calamity box. And while it's a strong AoE attack, frobots aren't that durable - albeit their numbers are pretty huge here I'd imagine, so an AoE is very helpful regardless.
Yeah, definitely a good idea to keep King being a primordial-in-waiting a secret. If Luz's Titan powers are enough to catch Darcy's eye, then King definitely would be of great interest to them.
*The note about them not trying the weh on Sasha yet is fun as an outside observer, because like, we KNOW Sasha would overcome it. But the characters don't, and they have hope! Hope that she can then crush by being so awesome and OP.
Jean-Luc army in the wings 👀 not that I think it'd be enough, but that would be so creepy for Sasha to fight.
Edaaaaaaa! Like mother, like daughter; they're two of the only people to fight Sasha head on and survive/escape.
It's nice to see Gus and the illusionists being the only effective fighters against Sasha (Harpy Eda and Titan Luz notwithstanding) being established in canon. How much damage they can do? Depends, but it's something! Of course, this is a Sasha who's regressed and not handled her issues at all, so that anger we see in seasons 1 and 2 would definitely start to build up the more the illusionists frustrate her.
Since Sasha hard-counters plant magic, it makes sense Willow is the resistance's crowd control/add clear specialist.
The question must be begged: in a battle of Sasha and Hooty, who comes out on top 🤔? (We know the answer, but the fanon and kinda canon version of Hooty is, like, a cosmic level threat so lol.)
Frogvasion AU ask!
Maybe a roll-call of the other major TOH characters? I know you're working on part 2 of Luz's journal which will deal with the resistance, so if that would cover this ask, then all good and no need to answer. But it'd be fun to see how everyone is reacting to Frogvasion and hear of any run-ins they have with Darcy's Heralds.

A new scene drop let's goooooo 🥳
What's left is just Anne Planter.
Yeah...she's never going back to Earth and her parents, if that's how she identifies herself when away from the responsibilities of the Empire. The omission of 'Boonchuy' is rather obvious, even without knowing the lore details from your other posts that Sasha and Anne have yet to go back to Earth since this all started. It gives the final part a bit more juice when Andrias does refer to her with that name, on top of the underlying juice from how Andrias is the reason she's in this situation to begin with. And it makes for an additional line of demarcation between the Triumvir Queen Savisa part of her life and these moments of escape back home in Amphibia, between the god and the regular farmgirl, because 'Savisa' is her middle name from her human parents.
You really nailed the chill, silce of life tone, particularly with Anne feeling a massive weight come off her shoulders now that she's back home and doesn't have to put on her 'queen' face.
But, there's an uneasy undercurrent to this 'little slice of heaven', as she puts it. Yes, it's nice that Amphibia is spared from all the Empire's junk, and Wartwood treats her normally, and people either don't know (in the general population's case (maybe?)) or don't care (in the Plantars' case) about what she's been doing these past 7 years, but in the back of your head, it's impossible to forget all the stuff the Empire is doing, and that Anne has been an active and essential part of it.
Also, big fan of Anne using her Calamity powers for mundane reasons like she does to make Polly hear her. Just fleshes out the world a little bit more - her powers being a normalized part of her that she uses like it's second nature and in day-to-day life.
Frogvasion ask.
What is Andrias' status in this AU? Can't help but notice he's been conspicuously absent in the lore posts thus far.
As soon as she steps out of the portal, she is met with a rush of warm air, humidity, the buzzing of insects, the smell of manure, and the distant scream of some poor frog being carried off by a giant dragonfly - or regular-sized dragonfly in this world. She can feel her hair start to frizzle - her unkempt, messy, absolutely no attempt to make it pretty hair.
It's wonderful.
Today she's not wearing a dress, no jewelry, no makeup or haircare or high heels or anything to make herself look beautiful and imperious and awe-inspiring - just a worn old t-shirt, a pair of overalls, and practical boots - she almost considered dropping one boot for old time's sake but decided that just because she can heal from infections doesn't mean that she should.
The halo is still around, she can't seem to get rid of it, but she's dimmed it so it's almost invisible in the morning sun. For this week only, Queen Savisa the Lord Speaker is gone and what's left is just Anne Plantar, farmgirl and town weirdo.
She takes her time strolling alone the well-trodden dirt roads. The fancy junk of the rest of the Empire never seems to reach this little slice of heaven, and she's happy for it. The townsfolk stop to say hi, but none of them bow and no one calls her by any title. They chat about what's been happening in Wartwood recently, what businesses are going well, what townsfolk are still around and who have moved on. No one asks what she's been up to, thank frog.
It takes nearly two hours with all the greetings and conversations, but she eventually gets to the old path marked with a sign saying "Plantar Farm." She could have portaled here directly, but she wanted to say hello to the neighbours first, frog knows she won't have much time for anyone else once her little sister gets to her.
Her grandfather is asleep in his rocking chair at the front porch, and she decides not to wake him. She can catch up later, so she follows the sounds of work around the house and finds a pink frog hammering away on some machinery she can only take a guess at the purpose of.
"Hey Polly!"
No response.
"Polly!"
Still nothing, as the frog keeps on with her work.
"POLLY PETUNIA PLANTAR!"
This time she puts a little bit of her power into the words - just to make them louder, nothing more - and the frog finally turns around and notices her.
"ANNE!"
In a single leap, the girl is on her, and both sisters fall to the ground laughing. For a moment, everything is right in the world.
----
Polly quickly stashes away whatever she was working on and they rendezvous in the living room. Hop Pop wakes up at some point, and is no less happy to see his eldest granddaughter than the youngest was. Soon there is lively conversation between them, as if nothing had ever changed and she is still that girl living in their basement.
"So how's the multiverse? Fought any giant monsters lately?"
Polly looks at her with wide and curious eyes. She's been politely avoiding the subject of Anne's recent activities, but evidently couldn't keep it in any longer.
"Must you make me talk about work, Polly?" she says with a smile. "Embivirid is incredible. The pine trees there are so tall that according to Marcy they've apparently adapted to eating birds because the stuff the roots eat up can't get all the way to the crown. Lord Omron showed me some that are apparently older than every nation in the world combined, and so tall that it can get water from clouds!"
Polly's eyes get wider and more starry through the conversation, and Hop Pop listens with apt attention. She's missed these frogs with all her heart.
"Other worlds sound so cool! Sprig is in Telemoria and has been writing about it, the cities there sound amazing! I wanna go too!" She pulls out the biggest puppy eyes ever seen on a frog. "Can you take me Anne? Just for a day? Pretty pleaaaase?"
"Now now, Polly," Hop Pop interjects. "You know Anne doesn't like talkin' about work, she's here to rest and recouperate and we shouldn't be makin' demands of her."
Anne smiles the kind of smile that would make Sasha call her a soft dumbass, but fuck Sasha so she smiles away. She's really, really missed these frogs.
"It's fine, HP. I'm here for a week, I can definitely spend a day on that, showing the best little sister in the multiverse around doesn't count as work."
Polly beams, and that smile almost makes the last 7 years worth it. Unfortunately, this vacation did come at the cost that she had to check up on someone, and the faster she does that the faster she can enjoy the farmlife.
"Speaking of work though. How is... he?"
It takes a moment for Polly to realize who she's talking about.
"Oh! He's fine, hearty as ever. He's working at Sadie's dairy farm this month and-"
"Hold on!" she interrupts. "Mrs. Croaker is still alive?!" Nevermind the giant pinetrees and the continent sized cities, that is the most incredible thing she has heard.
"She is, believe it or not. Still kickin' around, and she's been driving the old man like a slave. Pretty sure she likes having someone of his physique around, if ya catch my drift." Polly wiggles her eyebrows at that last part.
"Polly that's gross," but she still laughs.
They continue talking like that for a while, but eventually Polly has to get started on dinner, and Hop Pop goes back to his afternoon nap, so she takes the chance to do that one errand she's been dreading.
She doesn't bother walking this time around - he's not worth it - and instead flies over in less than a second, finding him standing with a huge shepherd's crook herding the cow-a-pillars.
He notices her before she says anything, and smiles that tired and resigned old smile of his.
"It's been a long time, Anne Boonchuy."
She hates that smile.
"Andrias."

AAAAAHHHH I CAN'T STOP WINNING!!!!! Trans Bailey (Hunter), trans Boscha, trans Anne...all that's missing is trans Amity to complete the set of my trans headcanons being canon in this AU. (Now, trans Anne isn't in the same category as the others given the textual support for her within the show. Which, yeah, Bessie & Microangelo is about as on-the-nose a trans coding I can imagine that would pass Disney cartoon restrictions.)
You're not wrong with the 'trans wish fulfillment' elements at play here. Who among us trans girls hasn't imagined being a despot/queen/empress with god-like power who is super beautiful and a mix of feared and beloved by the subjects of her empire? (Or am I telling on myself here.)
And also the wish fulfillment of: if someone is transphobic to me, my toxic wife will kill them :)
ooooooo Sasha wearing armored suits 👀 guess that answers my question on how does she dresses/presents herself in public when not in combat and at meetings/balls with Anne, i.e., she doesn't wear her armor 24/7.
Yessss, the diversity is winning so hard here 😆.
Frogvasion ask.
Is Anne trans? I remember you mentioning in one of the lore posts about her life as Triumvir Queen that, while the social political stuff can be annoying at times, she also liked it because of her subjects treating her like a queen and the euphoria from that. And ofc, trans Anne has support within canon for it.
Indeed she is, I don't think I can ever perceive her as not trans given her lines in Bessie & Microangelo and All-In. Plus the whole theme of change and stuff, she really is the most trans coded character ever.
The Core synthesized estrogen based on samples from Sasha and Anne, so that's how she's still transitioning without robbing apothecaries on Earth, and it probably has an easier method than weekly injections. And yes, there is absolutely something gender euphoric for her in being the Triumvir Queen.
The subjects of the Empire has never known Anne as anything other than the divine queen, no one would ever think to question her femininity or womanhood. When people think of her, the image they have is as a beautiful and divinely feminine figure in dress and gown. She is the queen, and no one would ever defy or question that. Heck even if someone did try to act transphobic towards her, they would be the subject of mockery and punishment because even among the people who hate her, her identity as Queen Savisa is beyond reproach (also Sasha would kill them but that was the case on Earth as well).
I'm not sure if I would call her stealth, there simply isn't any doubt about the matter to begin with. If she did tell anyone that she's trans, they would just treat it as an irrelevant bit of trivia on the same level as "the queen is a brunette"
There might be an element of trans wish fulfillment here.
Oh and Sasha absolutely has some Gender stuff going on (one of many reasons that she wears armor in battle and armored suits in public) but she has a job so she doesn't really care about that right now.

More lore yippee!
It's not very surprising that Amphibia is doing well, because if Anne and Sasha would secure concessions from Darcy for Earth, a home they're probably never going back to (and haven't as of 10+ years of working for the empire), then of course they would do the same for the home they're actually attached to in Sasha's case, and more attached to in Anne's case.
Polly would definitely turn the Plantar family tunnels into her version of a doomsday prepper shelter, but it'd only have weapons and robots, and she'd be doing it out of fun and a love for violence, not paranoia.
Which, the mention about her possibly considering usurping the Amphibian throne is an unexpected one, along with Sprig (perhaps unknowingly) helping her. Like, I could see Polly doing it just because she can and it'd be fun, but at the same time, the current monarch Olivia is both good to the people and also works for the same empire that Anne does, so like...kinda awkward if Polly went through with it. And it seems that she's cool with multiversal conquest and world-hopping, so it's not a targeted attempt at stopping Darcy and 'freeing' Anne from their control. (Unless she's playing the long game, in which case, bravo Polly.)
Big fan of the Sprig-Ivy-Maddie trio getting more time together this time around! That they're just traveling and exploring and enjoying the world is sweet and a nice change of pace from the big political machinations nearly every other main-ish character is going through. Plus I love them so much.
The irony that Anne is Heart and can control emotions, but is also afraid of Sprig or her parents judging her is not lost. Heart's Sovereign is just as susceptible to her domain as anyone else.
(The parents part is my headcanon for why she's never gone back to Earth.)
Frogvasion ask.
How often, if at all, do Anne and Sasha return to visit their Amphibian loved ones? We know Earth is off limits to the Calamity Empire, and that Anne and Sasha haven't gone back for reasons, but what does the Amphibia version look like?
Amphibia, shockingly, is actually doing very well in this au. Part of the deal when Anne and Sasha agreed to serve the Core was that Earth would be off-limits, but also that Amphibia would be left relatively unchanged. It is the throneworld of the empire, and Newtopia is its capital, but it has not been industrialized to the degree we see in the show. In fact, with the influx of trade and resources from other worlds, Amphibia as a whole has largely benefited from this arragnement - although Olivia will complain a fair bit about the increased workload from being duchess of a multidimensional empire's capital.
As for the loved ones;
The Plantars are still living as best they can. Polly took over the farm once Hop Pop grew too old for the hard work, and with the help of Frobo she's been applying her usual ambition to running it. She's also definitely not using the tunnels under to build mechas and weapons and stuff which she would absolutely in no way ever consider using to usurp the throne, certainly not using information that her brother feeds to her from his travels.
Sprig probably took a few years at the Newtopian university because I think that should be acknowledged more in the show, but by the present he, Ivy, and Maddie have taken to traveling, selling curses and tinctures, minstrels, what have you; they don't exactly have a problem getting around since Sprig can flash his "Triumvir Queen's brother" credentials if needed. There are new worlds to explore and he's eager to discover, though deep down the real reason is that he hopes he'll catch up to Anne and get to see her more often.
Anne does visit the Plantars, just enjoying the peace and quiet and time with them, and ironically does it more often now that Sprig has left home. Polly is of course all in for multiversal conquest, and Hop Pop never makes her feel judged. She knows Sprig probably wouldn't hate her, but she's also scared that he would. They still see each other occasionally, but it's more when Sprig seeks her out than the other way around.
Grime was appointed Margrave (governor) of Marka. Living his best life fighting lavamonsters and putting down rebellions by the surviving Markans. Sasha has repeatedly offered to get him a better position, though he has turned her down, he insists that he's right where he wants to be. In reality though, he knows that there are no one else Sasha would trust with Marka.
Sasha visits him often, though she's rarely in the mood to talk when she does, which he respects. They do see each other often at meetings though.
And it's on one of those meetings that a new human girl Grime has never seen before stumbles in.
oh and yunan is the same as she always been, though her duties as general are somewhat expanded.

Yeah, unwilling or unnatural ascensions to godhood and, more generally, to total power are some of my favorite premises to turn over in my head if the circumstances are ripe for it 😆 . (And on the flipside, willing but wrong or corrupted ascensions where the nearly minted god-like figure is fully onboard and assured with their new power/identity but not in an enlightened, inherently benevolent way are equally as chef's kiss.)
And the point about gods being irreversably changed by things outside their control gets you the best of both worlds:
the humanity and drama of (relative) helplessness in the face of the greater forces of the universe or simple random chance.
the power and freedom of a god to still be above 99.99999% of whatever reality can throw at you, and to be that 'greater force' which every other living thing is truly helpless against.
There is something to be said about how becoming a god in of itself changes you.
Yessssss exactly! As you said, when do they "become" gods? Is it something within their control, an active decision they make as they push the boundaries of what they're capable of, only to realize there aren't any and so they keep progressing farther and farther into their power and 'godhood' as they leave behind their humanity and its limits? Or is it more so them realizing they are gods, and that they "became" this way all the way back when they got sent to Amphibia the very first time and unknowingly absorbed the Calamity gems' powers, and that they never had a choice in this. (And this isn't even considering the long-term effects of, if the Empire lasts many generations on the worlds it conquered, Anne and Sasha will be worshipped in the way that traditional gods are. They may not be aware of this worship in the sense that traditional gods are, but the knowledge that they are seen in this light would still have influence on their sense of self and relation to humanity (or lack thereof) and godhood.)
Anne's powers in particular capture the horror of unwilling, unnatural ascension really well. Because to a human, the sheer volume and breadth of emotions she'd feel from mortals would be enough to break their mind beyond repair. But for Anne, she can weather the storm just fine, and how can you NOT be fundamentally changed by this knowledge?
For Sasha and her powers, even just the 'simple' aspects like her being uninjurable and unkillable is enough to have drastic effects on the self, because that is such a human thing to be mortal and fallible, and to have it forcibly taken away from you by powers you never chose to have? Scary stuff.

Just watched All In with @travelerstakes and it inspired me to do some quick sketches of what Anne and Sasha's halos and eyes look like before and after they "grew into" their divinity.
While the girls can mostly pass as human, their eyes and halo never go away. Even at its lowest "setting", the halo is still dimly visible, and their eyes are always like that.

Yippee! More lore and more art!
I guess I haven't seen The Hardest Thing in ages, because I completely forgot about the magic constructs the Calamity trio made during the battle. But now that you've jogged my memory, duh, that makes perfect sense w.r.t. how Sasha drew her sword out of nowhere in the scene of the empire trio + Luz at dinner. And her hardlight weapons having fire accents to them is another aura boost for Sasha! Hurray!
dajdansdnad 😭 she only brings her heron swords to non-combat assignments because they mean so much to her 🥺. (and because they're snazzy.)
Another title of hers has been revealed! Joining 'Doom of Marka' and 'Lord General' is the deceptively named 'Heron Lord'. Something that other worlds would probably find...odd and kinda disarming (assuming they know what herons are) for such a violent, powerful Herald of destruction to choose as her animal symbols - until they see the kaiju-sized herons that follow her into battle sometimes. Then it makes perfect sense and leads to yet another "what the FUCK she can do that?! are you kidding me???" moment.
(As an aside, which herons might they be? The pair that attacked Toad Tower or the pair that Darcy captured which had killed Sprig and Polly's parents? Because the latter was like a souped-up version of the former and more evil looking. But then Sasha has a connection to the TT ones.)
Also I really love the pose of Sasha kneeling to Darcy. It's so evil and delicious hehe.

The Heron Lord does not carry weapons into battle, prefering to forge them on the spot from pink flame when bare hands won't suffice. Many say that this is because any forged weapon would melt in her hands, though this is no more than a rumour. In truth, the Lord does carry weapons, but only when accompanying her fellow Triumvir Queen to ceremonies and meetings. A pair of arming swords forged of pink and green metal, with crossguards in the shape of her namesake birds. Any who question the choice of such unintimidating birds as heraldry should do well to remember the great beasts that accompanied the lord on the conquest of Tathrion.

Some pose practice using Frogvasion AU Sasha, plus some lore for y'all. The girls can still make hard light constructs, Sasha's are just a bit more fiery than they used to be.
