LOVE. Everyone wants to love and to be loved. However some people search for love in the wrong direction. To find the true meaning of love, you have to trace it back to its source - God, for God is love (1 John 4:8). When Jesus was asked what is the greatest commandment, He answered two: (1) Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. (2) Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Perhaps, we find it easy to follow the first one since He is God, He is good, He provides what we need, so in response we love Him. How about loving your neighbors? Those whose attitude test your patience? Those who makes stories and say bad things about you? Those who hurt you with words and in deeds? Those who betray you? The ability to love these people is not our nature but when the love of God overflows in us, we can love a God-kind of love. UNSINKABLE On Teachers' Day, I was awarded as the Most Bouyant Teacher. I kept joking around about it that I am the "Most Lutaw Teacher" (since bouyant means able to float, so lutaw 😂). And today, when I checked the definition, I laughed at the idea that bouyant also means "gay". Gi-confirm nila nga bayot ko hahaha. JK. While everybody sees me as a cheerful and confident kid, I could only think how amazing God is because I know that I used to be far from that identity. Indeed, He changes people from glory to glory. On a more serious note, being bouyant could also mean "unsinkable" (credits to Ate Nova for that 😉). I'm gonna embrace that definition. Will all the challenges that I am going through right now at work, at home, in the ministry, with myself, I am unsinkable indeed. Not because I am tough but my God is so gracious enough to put me together and to keep me going. Life in this world is hard but God is still bigger and greater. When the chasm is far too wide and the waves roar to drown you, God's grace begins and is sufficient enough to make you unsinkable.
