it's the way cas knew he wanted dean, he knew he wanted to be with him and have a life with him. that's literally something he thought about! it was the one thing he wanted for himself and he thought he couldn't have it! so he just kept wondering what else his happiness could be if not a life with dean and i know we already know this but hell that's so tragic!! and the worst part is that dean wanted him too !
