"Women shouldn't create freaky art for whatever reason because men will take it and use it to enforce their existing misoginy " is certainly a take I didn't think I'd hear. Bcs all the art you create must be fully wholesome and allways have good messaging and can't just be disturbing on its own. Yeah... :/

idk about you guys but I think sometimes its a little fun for fictional characters to go “I am going to be a little bastard man for no reason” like I’m over the agonizing about right and wrong, and wrestling with one’s darker nature. I wanna see people go “hey wanna see something fucked up?” and then do it

This is your signal to let yourself write the deranged, uncomfortable, disgusting fiction that you've been thinking about.

honestly, especially in the current state of the world, you all have GOT to kill whatever puritanical voice inside your head keeps insisting that if something is erotic it has no social, artistic, or intellectual merit.
stop acting as if someone can’t enjoy both erotica and literary fiction or classics. it’s not some dichotomy.
stop acting as if erotic art can’t be poignant and meaningful. and that includes all erotic art - not just fine art.
stop insisting that sex scenes or erotic material ruin movies and shows just because you, personally, get icked out watching it.
no, not all erotic art is high art, and not all erotic art is meant to invoke deep intellectual discussion - but insisting that makes erotic art valueless, a disservice to intellectualism, or whatever else - does nothing but add fuel to a fire built on conservative ideology.

Major Benjamin Tallmadge is awkward, high-strung, completely infuriating, and unfortunately for Yelena, the only chance she’s got at returning to the proper time. However, with her distracting America’s head spymaster, will the entire course of history be altered? {Marvel/TURN: Washington’s Spies}

10 Tips for Writing (Good) Smut
so. let’s do this.
About a year ago, I had to read a book for my school’s summer reading assignment called How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas Foster. It’s not a bad book, pretty decent actually, but there was this one chapter about sex scenes in literature. And one of the first sentences was along the lines of “writing sex is boring.”
and I did a double-take. Bc in my experience, that is absolutely not the case, and if you do find yourself bored while writing smut, then you’re not doing it right. See, Thomas’s main argument was that there’s only so many ways you can write sex scenes, because there’s only so many sex acts you can choose from. (My boy Thomas is clearly a vanilla dude, but let’s not hold that against him.)
But one of the most important things to keep in mind while writing smut is that it’s not necessarily just about the act itself. So while Thomas is right that there are limits as to how many ways ppl can have sex, he failed to realize that writing sex is about a LOT more than that. And I’m gonna prove it to you.

I wrote this fanfiction if anybody is interested!
Chapters: 2/?
Fandom: The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde, Dorian Gray (2009)
Rating: Not Rated
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Dorian Gray/Basil Hallward, Dorian Gray/Henry Wotton, Basil Hallward/Henry Wotton, Dorian Gray/Basil Hallward/Henry Wotton
Characters: Dorian Gray, Basil Hallward, Henry Wotton
Additional Tags: Friends to Lovers, Friendship/Love, Love Triangles, Jealousy, They’re such a weird trio they're all into each other, but also all jealous of each other, Basil is in love with Dorian, Henry is in love with Basil, Dorian is in love with himself, Dorian admires Henry a lot, Dorian wants Basil’s approval, Dorian feels guilty, he's still a bitch though, There will likely be smut of some kind at some point
Summary:
“You will make the place smell of smoke,” Basil warns them, as Dorian takes a drag on his cigarette, leaning forward to purposefully blow the smoke at Basil, who tries, and fails spectacularly, not to blush. Henry has seen that look many times before, and takes a certain sadistic pleasure in watching Dorian torment the man. He cannot help but think about how entertaining it would be to watch Dorian tease Basil in a much more indecent manner; to watch Dorian, on all fours, lean down to brush his ruby lips against Basil’s, only to leave him wanting. To then taste Dorian’s lips for himself, to discover if they really are as soft as they appear.
Basil Hallward, Lord Henry Wotton and Dorian are great friends; there is also a chance they may one day be more. After Dorian breaks down one evening, and Basil and Henry stay to look after him, they each realise that their bond is closer than they would ever like to admit. After that night, their feelings grow, and Basil must come to terms with a side of Dorian he was never sure he wanted to see
