for all of our lives so many autistic people are told they don't play, or they play wrong, because they play differently. some regressors feel like they lost their ability to play, but when youre told since you were actually little that how you play "isnt play" that may not be the case. Play can be--

brushing a doll's hair or changing their clothes

sorting blocks or other toys into categories

touching a toy and taking in its sight, feel, sounds, smells

lining things up

taking things apart and putting them back together

moving toys around without a story involved

autistic play is still play, "abnormal" play is still play, as long as youre having safe fun, its play!!♡♡

I'd love to have a day where I can happily and freely regress! It'd start with me and Dada going to a toy store! There's one by me that sells Jellycats and Douglas plushies, so I'd choose that one. Then, once I've picked out my new friend, we'd visit the playground and have a little picnic for lunch. After that, we'd head back home, and I'd sit on the floor playing with my LPS while Dada cooks a nummy dinner of chicken nuggets and fries! After dinner, Dada would run me a warm bubble bath, and once I'm done, we'd cozy up under some soft blankets and watch a movie - maybe Winnie the Pooh. In the end, I'd fall asleep in Dada's arms, feeling happy, comfortable, and, most of all, safe.
