Stepping closer, Cassandra reached out and gently took his hands in hers, giving them a comforting squeeze. “I never wanted you to feel forced or pushed into something you didn’t want, and that’s still something I don’t want. If you’re ready, I am here, I will be here for you when you need it. And in the meantime, of course, there will always be my sneaky treats from the kitchen, eh?” Her mouth curled upward into a teasing gesture, something to bring a bit of lightness to the moment. “You deserve happiness too, Merlin. I do hope that you know that.”
