So I finished Rescue Bots (yes, it took forever, no I will not elaborate) and ho boy you’re gonna love this.

So remember this post? About Mr Steve Blum Heatwave Burns the Firetruck Bot Guy? Well, as I’ve said in a reblog of that post, it goes deeper. We got two parts to this, but I’ll keep them brief.

To start, take a look at these screenshots and tell me what you notice. Or better yet, tell me what you remember about each of them.

The first screenshot is from the season 3 finale, specifically the moment that the quantum crystal gets fucked by Zeus, which then activates the Reactaline and sends the island straight to Antartica. Of course, Heatwave is the one to hold the damn thing before dropping it.

Our second screenshot is from Spellbound (a personal favorite of mine), where Heatwave trips, sends a rock down the cliff, and destroys Boulder’s phone. Of course, it’s Heatwave that nearly falls and is inadvertently responsible for foiling Pinch’s plans. Had he not fallen, the town would’ve been hypnotized for who knows how long.

Then there’s Sky Forest, where Heatwave says something along the lines of “Something feels wrong” right before the forest turns into a scene from The Happening 2 Electric Boogaloo. Hat drop, mic drop, down to the millisecond he says it, things go wrong.

Heatwave has, without fail, either been the catalyst for something happening or has predicted something. It doesn’t happen every time he’s on screen, but it’s frequent enough to take notice.

Here’s a screenshot from A Vigilant Town. It was established previously that the team had no idea what kind of security the underground vaults have, yet Heatwave, unprompted, pulls the fire extinguishers out and starts spraying the ground. He knew there were laser tripwires while the rest of the team (and Cody, who was the only one to get a glimpse at the vaults) didn’t. Dude had a hunch and went for it.

Then there’s his ability to gain a third form first try. Yes, the other bots do it later in season three, but that’s most likely a case of the infamous Aligned Continuity Unicron Singularity Calamity (tm), or a continuity error for the uninitiated.

Optimus even admits that this shouldn’t have happened. In his own words, very few have been able to do what Heatwave just did. It’s like Dave from down the street suddenly became a pro body builder on instagram overnight. It’s just impossible.

Yet Heatwave does it with little issue.

He even predicted Even and Myles in The Haunting of Griffin Rock. “Perfect for an ammeter thief.” A smaller example but definitely suspicious when looking at Heatwave as a whole.

Whatever is going on with Heatwave, it’s supernatural to some extent. Is he psychic? Is he a prophet? Does Optimus recognize his potential as a prime? Does he know something that Heatwave doesn’t? Is he planning something for him beyond the Training Center?

BUT SPEAKING OF FUTURES we get to Verne. And we get to the second part of this theory spitball.

Ever the mystery, Heatwave apparently has some magical destiny that the other bots don’t, one that’s important to Cybertron’s and Earth’s histories. The show completely leaves it unanswered, leaving everyone scratching their heads, and only adds to Heatwave’s weirdness.

Except we do see what Verne was referring to. We do get to see Heatwave make history…alongside his students.

Enter Citadel Secundus.

When Citadel starts transforming, the recruits are obviously freaking out. The ground is moving and they have no idea why. Heatwave, meanwhile, is calm. While it’s part of his job, he isn’t concerned about the situation in the slightest. Hell, he doesn’t even brace himself, he just stands next to the recruits like it’s a normal Tuesday. Then he drops the bombshell that this is a Titian.

Heatwave and the recruits have rediscovered a fucking Titian, a race of transformers thought to be completely wiped out. Metroplex was the last Titian that any Cybertronian laid eyes on, and he died sacrificing his energon to fuel the Arc in WFC. (Which is wild, considering that the Rescue bots do the same thing for Griffin Rock, but that’s for another post).

It fits perfectly. It explains why Heatwave is singled out from his teammates as having an important magical destiny. His teammates weren’t there when Citadel was woken up! It also explains why Verne was most familiar with Heatwave compared to the others. Heatwave would’ve likely shared Citadel’s story with Optimus and Cybertron after RBA. Hell, Heatwave even calls it a historic event, one that hasn’t happened in eons.

This next part is purely speculation on my part, but Heatwave’s reaction almost comes across as familiarity, like he’s seen a Titian transforming before, hence why he isn’t afraid or cautious. He knows that a Titian wouldn’t harm them.

We can use this to roughly pinpoint when Sigma 17 left Cybertron. It likely took off before the Rust Plauge, as that was when the Titians took off and colonies and Space Bridges were established. It also had to have been before the plauge because they’re still allowed to travel in space, and they likely used a space bridge to get to the Quintessa Quardrant.

Now if this is true, that would mean that Heatwave would’ve been around the same time Orion Pax was, since he was still an archivist when space bridges and the other colonies were established. He could be around Optimus’ age!

I know we are all used to hear bad news from the USA or UK when it comes to trans rights but this time Germany wants to play in the same league.

Our idiots at home ministry came up with the fucking idea to start a register for all transgender and nonbinary people which would mean every person working at some public position could always at any given time see your assigned gender at birth, your deadname, your address and who knows what else.

We had been there in the past. Hitler Germany called it the "Travestite Law" back then. Our politicians didn't learn.

We all know this is unacceptable.

Please, if you are German, sign it. If you are not, spread it wide and far.

This had been stopped once a few years ago. It needs to be stopped again.

You should get an AO3 account

With the rise of AI and the well known epidemic of AI companies scraping Ao3 for training data most authors on Ao3 have locked down their fics to logged in users only. This is unfortunate for authors and readers. As an author I've noticed a steep drop in readership on fics restricted to logged in users and when recommending fics to my friends I've noticed that the folks without an account can't find the fics. The logged in users only toggle, not only keeps people without an account from reading a fic, but also from seeing its listing at all. More than 50% of fics I come across have this setting turned on. So, you should get an AO3 account. I know this seems daunting and unfair because it's an invite only system but, you can invite yourself through the homepage if you don't already have one, and in the past few years I've never heard of someone who requested an invitation through this method, not getting one. And for those of you who are hesitant because you don't write, that's okay. It's not weird at all to click on a commenter username and find that they have 0 works and 10,000 bookmarks. It might take a week for the invitation to actually show up, but I can almost guarantee you will get one, just keep an eye on your email. It's free to join and donations are optional. You'll have more to read if you have an account and maybe give your favorite author the chance to protect their work from AI without a loss of readership and feedback.

After friends introduced me to pureref, I could not draw something without having enough ref pics for it. One picture is never enough for me, I want to understand it-

Look this is how I drew RBA Blades for the first time (My urge to turn anything into a bird is always very big)

I keep the first sketches away from eyes because I find it so cringe, but I gotta document my progress. In comparison to this drawing below one can immediately see the difference. (Inbetween these two sketches I did a ton of sketchbook drawings of RBA Blades in different poses to memorise him clearly)

This one even features the first sketch of Calamitas, I found it ugly so I just left it there and started a new drawing. It worked out tho.

This was more like me messing around and trying to understand colour a tad bit more. Like how mixing works.

There was another sketch on this page, but I didn't like the pose. I want to draw weird horror/fantasy stuff most of the time. But this dragon version didn't click with me. Like, how do I make him creepy

I think I am stuck with dragon Blades, but I think I need to look at more dragons or interesting animals. Maybe some insects or fishes. Or some rare mammal

This one is also experimental. Whenever I have "WIPs" I don't think to myself "I have way too many" I simply discard or keep one or two wips to work on later. If a wip becomes too old, it's usually better to redraw the idea (if I wanna tinker with it some more)

It feels very weird for me to turn my weird ideas into something. And show them online because I have no clue if they're too weird.

When I listen to music I think of some whack scenarious and thought of this. Where this "dragon" came from is not known to any bot. One thing for sure is, it only attacks Heatwave. For some unknown reasons a few Heatwaves escape from their own universe to live in a different reality. Maybe the Quintessons destroyed it, or something else happened.

However, none of them know that something is waiting for them. It lures them in by hacking itself into the communications system at the Firehouse or the Academy, pretending to be Optimus calling in or some other bot. It tells Heatwave he needs to go to a secret mission, may it be to Wayward Island or something else where he has to use his boat mode.

Whenever he does so a storm starts to form, it becoming so strong it cuts communications entirely, so nobody can contact him. It plunges into the water, disabling Heatwave's boat form and attacks him.

This being leaves no traces of him behind, aside from a small puddle of Energon. The glowy area under his chest are the sparks it collected over time. How many Heatwaves it caught I have no idea.

Calamitas knows this being too well, it can't catch him so easily.

Is a wee bit big I must say.

If some don't fall into its trap to go into the water, it has a few other tricks up its sleeves. Even if some bring backup, the others won't be able to help.

Ya’ll

It goes deeper. So much deeper.

So remember how in It’s a Bot Time and Bot to the Future, they specifically mentioned that it was energon that caused the bots to be thrown into the past?

Look at the control panel. Look at the nuclear energy tube thing. Look at Prime. Despite being two different things, Prime’s finger thing and the nuclear thing both fit into the slot.

Remember, the scientist abandoned the Temporal Station (the canonical name for the time machine) because they couldn’t power it. So why the hell is there a designated slot that just so happens to fit both a nuclear rod and Prime’s finger thing? Because someone knew in advance that those things could power the time machine.

Do you know what other machines are powered by energon? Jules Verne’s ballon. And the Chamber of Youth. And the Vernes devices. All of which involve time travel in some way shape or form. Whether it is reversing time or erasing one’s perception of time (memory erasure), time alteration is involved.

My theory? In the Aligned Continuity, energon has time altering capabilities. Jules Verne discovered energon on earth and experimented with it, which led him to traveling into the future where he runs into Heatwave. Presumably, Heatwave explains what he found, gave him some energon to send him back. He must’ve kept Verne’s future a secret, since he has no idea that Morocco is a bad guy, but Verne knows who Heatwave is. Somehow, this accumulated into the Temporal Machine, which has the slot for Doc’s nuclear tube and Prime’s finger thing.

Now if Heatwave was the one to explain what energon is to Verne, this creates some homestuck level of time travel shit. Just thinking about it makes my head hurt and I have no idea how I’d even type this out for everyone to understand. If anyone wants to take a crack at it, go right ahead, but I’ll give it a go.

Basically, it’s a broken time loop. By going into the future, Verne somehow messed the timeline up. This break is “fixed” when the bots go back in time and do their thing in the past.

Think of it like Verne breaking a hollow rod, creating two stick and the bots come in to fix it by sticking the nonbroken ends together.

Of course, this doesn’t explain the other weird shit with Heatwave (his ability to predict things, his optics, what his future is, ect) but that’s for another post.

Plus I still have to analyze the rest of the series.

So I’m finishing season one up (life got in the way of my binge) and I need to rant about

THIS FUCKER.

Heatwave has, without fail so far, been indirectly or directly tied to Morocco.

We have this first interaction from The Other Doctor, which has me all sorts of fucked up when you remember Jules Verne and all the time travel shenanigans.

In It’s a Bot Time, the kids climb into Heatwave’s cab just before the time machine goes off. In Double Villainy, Morocco uses Heatwave’s voice to lure Blades into the tunnels. Mind you, he had no idea Heatwave was the leader, as shown later when he makes Blades the leader of the team (and still made him leader after Heatwave protests). Finally, it was Heatwave who ultimately defeated him by slapping the cuffs on him in The Last of Morocco.

Of all the bots Morocco could’ve interacted with during his debut, he picked Heatwave. The same bot who would eventually beat him and play a role in Jules Verne’s own time travel shenanigans in the future. It was like he was drawn to Heatwave.

On a related note, there’s this moment from The Griffin Rock Triangle. Heatwave just so happened to be parked right next to the plate that causes Cody to search for the Midguard and find Professor Baranova. Unlike Morocco, these two don’t have that big of a connection, but it’s worth pointing out that he was sitting right next to the catalyst for finding her.

I have to finish rewatching the show in order to make any clear conclusions but already my fanfic theory brain is in overdrive rn.

You see after thinking about random AU scenarious I have come to the conclusion I want to make something about the Quintessons.

For some reason I like messing around with multiverses and wondered if individuals survive the destruction of their universes and would hop to new ones to try and survive or fight off the Quintessons whenever possible. We'd end up with the rescue bots meeting versions of themselves from different realities that don't exist anymore. Some of them have extremely bad trauma and others were caught offguard.

But this is how Calamitas lost his universe as well. Life didn't give him the best cards, but somehow he managed to escape being wiped out.

Who knows how they can be stopped.
