scarlet johannson did not spend an entire decade fighting tooth and nail to make natasha into an actual character instead of the sex object writers wanted her to be while also having to endure the most vile, misogynistic questions during press tours for people to now disrespect her legacy because yelena is 'better'. the only reason why that is, is because of everything scarlet went through. natasha singlehandedly paved the way for every other female superhero in the mcu and don't you forget that

I think an underappreciated element of Leia's character is that even after days or weeks of ruthless interrogation interspersed with torture, she still had the presence of mind to identify a feature of the Stormtrooper who barged into her cell that she could mock.

Buffy wanting some time alone then telling Spike "That's okay. I can be alone with you here" is one of the most romantic lines ever, but then they followed it up with Spike telling her "Buffy, if you're in … if you're in pain … or if you need anything… or if I can do anything for you.." and they really expected us to think they were bad together and shouldn't be a couple

Giles’s reason for leaving in season 6 being Buffy needs to ‘grow up’ actually makes me so angry. I know the actor wanted to leave but they should’ve had him go take care of a dying relative or something because this reason is just not it. First off, Buffy has just been brought back from the dead, is depressed, already has a full time job fighting demons (that for some reason, GILES gets paid for and not her?), her deadbeat dad isn’t around after her mom dies, is in a huge mountain of debt, and she has to parent her 15 year old sister. How can he POSSIBLY think leaving her high and dry because she’s ’too dependent’ is possibly a good idea? He is the only parental figure left in her life! And he has the audacity to tell her she needs to learn how to suffer and be strong as if she hasn’t been doing that since she was fifteen years old. She’s always delivered on her duties and made huge sacrifices but when she can’t be strong anymore, Giles can’t even bother to be there for. He claims he ‘can’t bear to she her suffer’ but he could’ve fooled me!
Plus, there’s the fact that she’s a TWENTY YEAR OLD GIRL! He’s acting like she’s thirty five and living in Giles’s basement or something! Why doesn’t Giles, as her father figure, help support her as she transitions into adulthood instead of just being all ‘whelp, you’re an adult now. Bye?’ Should she take more responsibility? Yeah. But with everything she has going on, why wouldn’t she lean on Giles a bit too much? And he hasn’t even had a conversation with her? Like when he gave her the check, for example, he couldn’t said ‘hey, here’s this to help you get on your feet but I want you to try your very hardest to get a job that you can work while being the Slayer.’ Or, ‘hey, I know it’s weird to parent your sister who is five years younger than you but it’s important as her legal guardian?’ Not to say Giles should let her be fully reliant on him and not grow up a bit and take some responsibility. But he should be there to offer advice and help her when she’s, you know, drowning. Especially given her less than normal circumstances. Instead, when she’s just barely getting her head above water, he’s just shoving her down and letting her drown again. I know it’s a luxury for 20 year olds to have their parents’ support and to experience the ‘emerging adulthood’/college student phase where you are able to rely on your parents to help ease you into adulthood. I know not everybody gets that. But Buffy has the chance to have that luxury and she’s been forced to grow up so fast already. She deserves to have at least a little adult support. I love Giles, I do, but he’s always pushed Buffy to grow up way too fast and has done similar things before. Like back in season 4, when she started college, he randomly decided that since she was 18 that his Watcher’s contract expired and he didn’t have to help her research anymore. It’s Giles’s freaking job to be her Watcher? Like he gets PAID. Why does he think he can freaking leave? Oh yeah and when he told Buffy to stop hanging out at his house when she was struggling to adjust to college. This is clearly a pattern with him and I should’ve seen it coming but still. Writers WHY?

Ok, but I’ve seen no one talk about the representation of Bob’s manic episode as Sentry. Hear me out.
He describes himself in the movie as having really high highs and really low lows. They never use the word but that’s clearly bipolar he’s describing. A manic episode followed by a depressive one.
The Void is clearly the representation of his depressive episode. Obviously. But I really think that fight as blonde boy Sentry was his mania.
It’s not the typical manic depiction we’re used to seeing, he’s very very calm during that scene. But a lot of times when experiencing mania people describe themselves as feeling indestructible, unstoppable. Bob literally calls himself a god. That’s, that’s mania, babes.
His mental health manifests in his powers. He literally becomes indestructible. He literally becomes nothing, a void.
In addition: In the end credit scene he says he can’t be Sentry without also being The Void. They go hand in hand, just like bipolar. Now, I know nothing about this guy’s comic counterpart, but going off of what the movie has shown us, I’m assuming that if he gets his mental health managed, he’s going to have both power sets. He’s going to have the Superman like powers and the shadow like powers. They’re intermingled.

In the middle of BTVS 5x22 for the first time and I'm obsessed with how when faced with letting the world be destroyed and killing her little sister, she chooses her sister. And then she actually tells her friends that she'll KILL them if they even go NEAR Dawn (even though they'd be trying to save the world). Getting a little sister was one of the absolute best things to happen to her character. Feral, protective big sister looks SO good on her.
