I know it has only been a month since the last event but the wheels are already turning on what can be done for next year.
I spent some time this weekend looking at the Channel Islands National Park for some personal adventuring and then thought that it might make a great outing for us Tumblr...

Because the beginning of your time, guy has utilized some type of a pack to hold such things as fresh wiped out game to his base or home. Putting the burden on his back permitted him to hold a bigger load than whether it were just in the hands. Progressively, with time, and sometimes determined by...

I’m going to go hike the Hites Cove trail just outside of Yosemite National Park. It’s a 9 mile out and back trip. All are welcome to join. Let me know if you’d be interested in joining up.
I’ll be going on April 21st. The trail should be covered with wildflowers. Plan on leaving Merced at 6:30am and being back in the late afternoon/early evening.

People often ask me why I think hiking is a good time. If they could see what I see I don't think they would ask me.

TOMORROW IS RESERVATION DAY!
TOMORROW IS RESERVATION DAY!
I need to know who even remotely thinks they may be joining in. Telling me you’re thinking of attending is not a 100% commitment.
The event is planned for Labor Day Weekend in Sequoia National Park.
If you are even remotely interested in attending I need an email at [email protected] TODAY.
So far freddashdog, strangeninja, judyschu, and me are who have confirmed.
Please review previous posts for more information.

One of the pieces of equipment I haven't yet settled on is a good insulating layer. I backpack primarily in the spring and summer months because my work schedule won't generally allow m to hike outside of that time frame.
That being said I've been in search of a good, lightweight, insulating piece of clothing for the early mornings and evenings while touring the back country. I'm putting this here as a reminder that I may want to check it out as the season gets closer.
As a bonus the color is called Narwahl Grey.

I'm not going to lie. I'm a gear junky. I love the latest contraption or gadget that makes life in the wilderness more enjoyable. That being said I love the stove above because you still get the rustic feeling of cooking over a fire couple with the minimal environmental impact.
My feelings wouldn't be hurt if this found it's way into my stocking.

Excellent video demonstration of how the Caldera Keg system by Trail Designs is used with their “Inferno” inserts to make a great wood burning stove.
