Been busy with Artfight lately, so I haven’t really posted here due to the lack of personal art. But I’m back!

Yesterday I decided to finally draw my Truesona after having his design in my head for weeks. Here is his first two refs (I have three more to do. He has a lot of forms).

He’s a silly shapeshifter/alien/monster thing. I’m currently working on his Toyhouse profile where I go into more depth about him and how different parts of him link to me.

An incredibly angry Gus. In fact, he is beyond angry. He has completely lost his shit. This is the first (and one of the only times) this happened.

Context: Gus gets minimal sleep and has to go to work at the Iceberg Lounge. Instead of doing his usual jobs as Oswald’s assistant, he has to help out with bartending as they’re down a few staff members. So Gus is already not feeling great. Then, this random man decides to flirt with Gus, which is something Gus hates. He tells the random man to stop but is ignored. Feeling pissed off and exhausted already, Gus snaps and scratches the man with his claws, hoping that’s enough. The man doesn’t back off and instead punches Gus in retaliation. Suddenly reminded of everything he had to go through in the past, Gus completely loses it. He slams his hands down on the bar as his powers activate, yelling ‘I’ll fucking kill you’.

Basically, Gus is sleep-deprived, tired of everything and feeling way too much at once, so he loses all rationale.

I absolutely love this drawing. I said the Noir AU Gus post was my favourite thing I’ve ever drawn, but this tops that. Sure, I think the perspective is a little off, and there’s a few tiny things I’m not that happy with, but I’m proud of myself for actually drawing something different and trying to bring the idea I had to life. This is pretty close to the vision I had in my head, so that’s good enough for me.

Also, drew Animalified AU Gus because 1. I thought it’d look cool, 2. I find it easier to draw animal side profiles, and 3. I find it easier to draw super expressive furries. I do need to practice 2 and 3 with humans though.

Puffin!!

Another character for the Warrior Cats AU. This is Lizardstalk and Penguin’s adopted son. He’s based on my DC OC, Frederick, who is Oswald’s son. I’ve never talked about Fred before, but I do plan on maybe drawing him at some point. I just need to decide exactly how I want him to look.

Anyway, Puffin is just a baby (literally, he’s 6 months old).

Noir AU Gus!!! For some reason, the Noir AU has re-entered my brain lately, and this idea came to mind. This may be the best thing I’ve ever drawn tbh.

Included all the versions and a flat colour one. Kinda tempted to make him into a sticker just for myself.

Randomly created a Warrior Cats AU for my sillies the other week. Now they’ve taken over my brain.

Gus is a warrior of Gloomclan (which is basically just my ocs and the Batfam) called Lizardstalk. He is a tall, cream American Shorthair.

Oswald is a kittypet called Penguin, and he is a black and white Persian. He lives in a house that the cats call ‘The Iceberg’. They call it this due to its light blue paint, and how frosty it looks in the winter.

Lizard meets Penguin one day while on patrol. The two gradually get closer until Lizardstalk eventually leaves Gloomclan to move in with Penguin. They live happily together for the rest of their lives.

Gus expression sheets!! (And the images I used as reference)

I love drawing Gus so much. I think he’s probably the oc I’ve drawn the most.

Randomly decided to change the way I draw shirt collars halfway through this but whatever.

In the end, this took me 11 or so hours (done over several days). It was good practice though as I’ve wanted to practice drawing expressions for a while.

Decided to draw a pride piece featuring my boys! I love this, definitely my favourite thing I’ve drawn of them so far. I love thinking about them and my headcannons for Oswald and Edward.

Edward’s the type to go all out for Pride and use it as an excuse to bring out his flashiest outfit. He’s also the type to cover his regular suit, which normally has black question marks, in stickers of rainbow question marks instead of just buying a new suit and decorating that one for pride. 

Oswald is the opposite and prefers to be more subtle. He’ll break out the face paint and a few of his pins, but that’s usually it. He would, however, decorate the entire Iceberg Lounge for pride month, claiming it’s ’good for business’.

Gus is in the middle and doesn’t really mind. He’ll wear his pins and carry flags while generally supporting his partners. He also likes people knowing that he’s a safe space and doesn’t judge anyone, so he wears pins to help show that.

Stymestus in some different outfits. They really don’t have a set style and will dress however they please. Sometimes she’ll change her outfit midway through the day. This demon has zero consistency.

Happy Pride Month everyone! I know things haven’t been great lately in terms of politics, but I hope everyone is doing as well as they can and staying safe. Let’s hope things get better.

Anyway, enough serious stuff. Redrew my yearly pride month piece with Pine in my new style. First time I’ve drawn him in a while. I really should draw him more.

Redesigned Beatrice recently, so I had to redesign Craze too. Finally, a design that I’m happy with. Craze is finally the sort of symbiote I originally envisioned. They’re a creature now, not just a cat.

I really love this redesign. It’s my little creature. I’ve missed drawing it and Beatrice.

Been playing Arkham Origins lately, so I decided to draw my versions of Edward and Oswald in their Origins’ outfits.

I also drew Gus in what his Arkhamverse outfit would be. I’ve been thinking a lot about Arkhamverse Gus lately. He dresses similarly to the rest of the Penguin thugs as he technically is one in that universe. His personality is also completely different to regular Gus. OzGus is also different. In my canon, they make each other better. But in the Arkhamverse, they make each other so much worse. Regular Gus would never wear what Arkhamverse Gus does though, so that’s why he’s so unhappy.

Also my first time properly drawing Edward. I love him and his Origins design.

Finally drew something for Mermay after wanting to for years. Due to current hyperfixation, it’s OzGus. Gus is part European Eel (in hindsight, he should’ve been an electric eel, but whatever), and Oswald is a Leopard Seal Selkie.

In this AU, Oswald gets his Penguin nickname because Gus called him ‘Penguin Muncher’ when they first met (y’know, because leopard seals eat penguins). But over time, that nickname got shortened to just ‘Penguin’. So unlike in canon, Penguin is an affectionate nickname.

I really love Oswald though. He is the Batman character that my brain has latched onto and refuses to let go of. He is my number one comfort character and I don’t even know why.

Also, I drew the ones on the right over a month ago. I was going to add a third drawing but that never happened, so I thought I may as well post them now. Oswald in his golden/silver age outfit, and Oswald in his Gotham Knights outfit.

More animalified AU!!! This time it’s OzGus because of course it is :D

Anyway, Gus is an aardwolf/Desert horned lizard hybrid. Aardwolf because it fits his personality, and I was trying to think of a less known mammal since that also fits with Gus. And desert horned lizard because he’s part lizard and they’re spiky.

Oswald is the one I put the most thought into. I ended up making him a black vulture since in certain adaptations, Oswald has pet vultures. Originally, I was going to make him a penguin, but I realised that wouldn’t make any sense because his nickname would just be fact. Then, I considered making him a puffin, but eventually decided a vulture suits him best. His stunted wings and his long vulture beak are the main things that made people nickname him penguin in this AU. Also, because black vultures have no feathers on their heads, Oswald is bald in this AU. No fluffy hair for him :’(
