Find it a little nice that Solas (from my understanding) didn’t use Blood Magic on Rook. He only used it to make Varric be alive as an illusion but didn’t do it directly to control them, other than his own words.

Like. Idk guys. Just find it nice and how he’s about freedom and choices and he didn’t break that belief even then. Makes me think of how Solas said he wasn’t a monster and wasn’t happy about everything he was doing in Trespasser

I love him sm guys you don’t get it. And if Solas did use blood magic to control Rook….then ignore this and just say it’s an AU I made up LOL.

EDIT: Nevermind. Apparently Solas admitted he would’ve controlled Rook if there was enough blood……but I’m turning my head and I heard nothing so he tooootally wouldn’t have done it bc he’s values choice😌. (I’m delusional)

Feel like Solas hated them yeah but was also curious about Rook. I feel like his Wisdom side was coming out because Rook is an enigma to him, so he asks what they’re doing, how they are, and gives them tips/info. He even says he likes how they are very fond of their team, which is surprising bc of how much the other characters don’t really *talk* to Rook, and spills a little info about him. It was manipulation, yeah, but I also see it as his curiosity coming out even in a terrible situation.

Wisdom is still there, just a little further down the surface.

People: Lucanis is so nice! He buys everyone stuff from the market!

Me: Except Rook, apparently. Because fuck them. They’re just there to hold the grocery bags.

@ar-ghilas-vir-banal I have thoughts from your tags, and I will add events/banters of DAI companions trying to bond and check on the inquisitor and show their affection without needing something. Just to show the issue with the companions and their relationship with Rook in DATV.

Cassandra:

Cassandra has a banter/comment (I’ve never gotten it but HAVE heard it) about her being *terrified* when she learned the Inquisitor had fallen into the Fade.

Cassandra has a few lines of asking if the Inquisitor is all right a few times, I believe. She even admits she ADMIRES them.

Sera:

Sera says “I don’t want you to be just a scary mage” to a mage Inquisitor when she says that she knows the Inquisitor, but others don’t. She genuinely cares for the Inquisitor and their image, even if she shows it in her own way.

Sera and Inquisitor sit on the Herald’s Rest’s roof and eat cookies together.

Sera plays a few pranks with the Inquisitor around Skyhold

Solas:

Solas, even out of romance I believe, talks to you on the balcony and asks how you feel.

He admits it’s been a long while since he’s had a friend to grieve with when Wisdom died, and he admits he’d try for them to be more open. He’s honest with them and a little open when he returns, though he didn’t need to be.

Bull:

Bull pulls you aside and dresses the Inquisitor up to make them blend in with their soldiers and learn their feelings, to feel attached to their soldiers in a sense.

Bull introduces the Inquisitor to the Charges and lets them speak to them as person-to-person and not just employee-to-boss.

In Trespasser, the Inquisitor can play along with the Chargers and help give Bull a surprise.

Has a drink with them at the Herald’s Rest and tries to see how much they can take and he’s just casual and joking, needing nothing in return. I believe it’s after the first dragon fight you do with him.

Dorian:

Says “it’s good to see you my friend,” in Trespasser.

Tells the Inquisitor he doesn’t mind the rumors about him, he just worries how it’ll affect THEM.

Says they inspired him to do good in Tevinter and take initiative.

Literally gives them a sending crystal and says “You are my dearest friend. That will never changed no matter where we are,” LIKE😭😭.

Says “Tevinter lacks my one and only friend” and it keeps him in the Inquisition for a little longer. He doesn’t want to leave them, even if, technically, they don’t have anything to offer and he doesn’t need their help.

Josephine

Josephine in Trespasser, takes you to see a play with her because she wants to spend time with the Inquisitor for once as Josephine and not the diplomatic advisor.

Vivienne

Gives you a ring that is supposedly VERY hard to make and obtain, and it symbolizes (I believe) someone you hold with high respect. Basically a friendship ring in my eyes lol. She doesn’t use words too much for her affection, but she gives it with items.

There’s probably more that I can’t remember or never got, but it’s just a few to show the relationships between the companions between main quests and side quests. They actually feel like a team and very friendly and caring (depending upon your approval or relationship with them).

I like that we can see a small smile on his lips when they pull away :). At least it looks like that to me and it’s super sweet. He smiled for a moment before he broke both of their hearts😔💔.

Once again feel like the saying of

“If you love someone, you’ll let them go.” (Not the full saying ik)

Applies a lot to Solas. He was willing to let Lavellan/Whoever-Romanced-Solas go on with their own life, even when his future was alone without them. He even warned them about what would happen if they joined him, basically letting them have an out if they wanted it, but they didn’t.

And then when he walked away to go to the Fade, he STILL didn’t call them to his side. He held his hands together, not reaching for them or beckoning them to his side, he just waited and would accept whatever happened next. It makes me love him a lot.

He was being honest when he wrote his letter. He would always love Lavellan/Whoever-Romanced-Solas forever.
