Genuinely baffled…

… At seeing people after Lantern Rite being all 'what?? Neuvillette is at least a thousand??? I thought he was five hundred????'

Like. Like. Like. Pls for the love of all things holy, forget what you read on the wikia. He was appointed Chief Justice five hundred years ago. That was the only timeframe we had up until that point. At no point did anything say he was born five hundred years ago.

In fact, basic logic dictates that he couldn't have been?? Unless he suddenly snapped into existence as a fully functioning adult and Focalors was magically aware of it to be able to send him a letter in short order. He was not born the same day he became Chief Justice, there is no way that that makes sense w/ the other information we had.

Now it'd be fair to debate how much older than five hundred he was, although if you assume not much then you're assuming he still was born as a fully functioning adult or he aged really fast at first and then stopped. I, personally, was always of the at least a thousand years contingent, but since we didn't have a number before, there was no way to know.

Now, though, we have a number (and I say at least a thousand to prevent any quibbling about translations, although I think it makes sense for him to be more). And I'm inclined to believe Furina, given how long they've known each other. Esp after finding out about Focalors plan, I don't see Neuvillette keeping that from her (knowing him he absolutely sat her down and told her everything from the beginning, and she was like 'dad, I appreciate it, but I'm a little traumatised atm').

Hopefully someone will correct the wikia, but like. Guys. It was in the text. It never said he was five hundred, just that he'd been Chief Justice for five hundred years.

In light of having just seen a transphobic post involving Naki/Nakayama, I had the need to reblog this again.

Especially w/ the update that last I remember hearing, I believe he had come out as male? Or at least preferring to identify as male. Although if anyone else knows more than me on that, feel free to update me!

@ne0dym and a friend on Twitter did an awesome translation of Nakayama Satsuki’s (Zero-One’s Naki) blog posts about their identity regarding gender and sexuality.

I wanted to share this bc I feel like it’s important, and all the English sources I saw on the subject had a sort of dismissive, disbelieving tone to the headlines that made me wary about them, so I wanted to try and find info from a credible source—and, naturally, Nakayama themselves is the most credible of them all.

They have also translated answers from live talks Nakayama has done regarding questions about their identity and Naki’s:

The big note from those is that Nakayama has specifically said that they do not want to be perceived as or referred to as female, so please bear that in mind when discussing them.

… As I try to phase back into a more online presence, sorry for everyone I've left hanging message/social-wise, if you're still following me/looking at my blog. I stg I haven't forgotten, I've just been so massively drained bc of work and drama at work (next person who says the words 'luxury retail' is gonna hear me scream). I still have lots of thoughts, I still want to talk, I just have really bad executive dysfunction and possibly ADD that make it hard to maintain conversations/focus. I'm not trying to be an ass, I just lack the concentration.

… If anyone has been wondering why I haven't been around so much on here, I've been incredibly exhausted from being understaffed at work, mental health shit, and feeling a bit bombarded by doom scrolling on here.

Things are steadily improving at work and I'm trying to work on the mental stuff, but I may not be so talkative on here for a bit.

I don't mean to leave conversations hanging and I do want to come back, I'm just so burnt out right now it's hard to focus.

I will check in occasionally (anyone finds any great Horobi and Fuwa or certain Genshin content do send it my way—I say, like there is any).
