SAM WILSON IS THE EMBODIMENT OF WHO CAPTAIN AMERICA SHOULD BE!!! He wanted to talk Karli down, reason with her. He almost got through to her by empathizing and not belittling her. He knows that the system needs to change but the way to change it shouldn’t cost innocent lives. This is why Steve chose Sam.

OK BUT I really feel like the mission that could bring the Avengers back together would be to steal the Shield back. Like can you just see Sam making the call and suddenly he has EVERYONE RESPONDING that YES they will help like Rocket’s already turning the ship around and they’re picking up Carol and Darcy is grabbing Jimmy and Monica and everyone is READY to go because none of them ever agreed to following that man so YES that Shield’s coming home to Sam Wilson where it belongs.
