i have zero empathy for little boys being misogynists. i was a kid too, but my focus was towards drawing and reading, not hating on minorities.

It's wild to me that you can say "I do not automatically associate your ethnoreligious identity with a nation state that I and many others rightfully view as a belligerent genocidal terrorist settler colony." And there are actually some people who will respond like "Fuck you! Not automatically associating me with the genocidal terrorist state makes you a bigot!"

friend just told me that he and his siblings used to play a game called "abraham lincoln and the slimy slug" wherein one person is abraham lincoln, with a full range of motion, and one person is a slimy slug inside a sleeping bag
and they would fight. and of course abraham lincoln would just beat the absolute shit out of the slimy slug

no actually i don't think antivaxxers' kids should die from a disease. i don't think gun advocates' kids should die in school shooting. children dying is bad actually, even if they're children of people you don't like.

Honestly, the statement that these types of people are human beings is something that should be said for the opposite of why it's being said now.
When you say something like "The Nazis and Hitler were human beings" people can get very uncomfortable even though it is a factually correct statement.
We need to be reminded though, that these were human beings who committed these acts, who are committing these acts today, because if we allow ourselves to pretend as though they just crawled out of Hell one day or exist completely in a vacuum, it lets us ignore the evil impulses within ourselves. It keeps us from recognizing them as such when our emotions are being exploited to manufacture our consent for atrocities.
We know that war criminals are human. We know that genocidaires are human. We know that cops who murder Black Americans with impunity are human.
Every time someone expresses anger or grief or howling uncontrollable rage at injustice, someone is ready and waiting to pop up with a friendly reminder that the perpetrators of injustice are human beings.
Consider putting as much effort into recognizing and affirming the humanity of their victims.
