I’ve been chewing on the idea of a young justice no capes au. Def going to draw some art of it. Might try to write something for it too maybe like some snippet mini fics instead of one long one 👀👀

I’m thinking the boys are like online friends and post high school by a few years decide to move out together as they each work on growing into their selves and find their footing away from where they grew up.

I’m thinking Conner would be like a child star kind of thing so that’s where we’d still he able to keep the history of grown ups manipulating and using him for money and gain, and through his online friendship with Tim and Bart they helped him come to terms with the fact he was in a toxic environment.

From Tim’s end he’s more than willing to try the venture with them because he doesn’t really feel bound to staying due to his parents standoffish and neglectful nature and feels kind of unwanted now that his parents seemed to have lost interest in him as an object to flaunt about and the prospect of moving into some place lively with friends sounds really good.

And for Bart he’s coming to terms that time is moving and one day Max just won’t be around so he’s should start figuring out how to cope and what he’s going to do in the future, and he feels like living with his friends feels like a really tangible step for him to take for that.

Counsel of Bart (AKA other Bart fans) Can I bring to the table, the concept of giving Bart a mullet? I feel like it'd work well with his head gear and still keep the volume. That's kind of how I imagine it working with my doodle Barts, just fanning out from the back.

🤙I head cannon Bart as aro/ace cause of evidence I see in the comics lets me and cause I'm also aro/ace. I relate to him a lot as a character and love that I can find evidence of aro/ace coding and audhd behavior. I see it and I'm like oh he's like me that's sick! Like I don't think I have found a character that has ADHD Autism Aromantic and Asexual coding all together and it's like woah I can see it all with this guy! And I like how in his stuff the evidence is just there yn? So the vibe is less 'uwu little guy' and more cool and relatable character. (Sorry about reblogging to say this, it wouldn't let me do a comment long enough to say it all lol here's a bonus Bart doodle for your troubles)

Do you think ppl are infantilizing Bart by hcing him as aroace? I personally find it very sus when I see someone with that hc for him.

1.) No, not inherently. Because there is comic supportive evidence that he may learn towards being ace, or being aro, or even both at the same time and it has nothing to do with him being autistic-coded, which is why I assume you might feel suspicious about people with this headcanon.

We have various instances of him demonstrating some aro/ace responses in response to flirtation, or romantically charged situations, directed at him. Granted the meta reasoning for these responses were due to the writers simply wanting to lean on Bart simply being, well, Bart and it was for a 'joke' but they are still in the comic none-the-less.

2.) While people do absolutely infantilize neurodiverse characters and Bart is incredibly infantilized within the fandom, from what I have seen those who do favor an aroace Bart are not doing so because of anything approaching ableism or infantilization but due to canon comic interactions as stated above. Are there people out there who are simply headcanoning Bart as aroace because he is 'smol and innocent and Tim and Kon's child'? Probably. But just because someone does have an aroace!Bart headcanon doesn't mean they are ableist.

This is one of those situations where I think caution is absolutely warranted, but there's a good chance a lot of thought and consideration went into the headcanon, particularly if it is from a Bart fan and not a general Young Justice etc- fan.
