I posted about Palestine on social media for years with zero interaction. No one wanted to talk about it and it has always seemed too far removed for americans to give a shit about.
So again I just want to remind people, it's never been like this before (in the us). This movement has always been here, but they can no longer bury it.
The fact that protests and boycotts have been sustained for going-on 6months, that's not nothing. This should be evidence to you that we can sustain the momentum, we must, and use this momentum for radical changes within ourselves, our habits, and our education.
We have the rest of the world to catch up with.

Just want every young person terrified of becoming older than 23-25 to know that I'm currently 32 and my 20s were fucking miserable and while life isn't wholly perfect right now I wouldn't trade my 30s for my 20s for the LIFE of me. The idea feels as ridiculous as trading my 20s for being in high school. FUCK no. And I'm sure at 42 I'll feel similarly to my 30s and so on and so forth. Embrace the passage of time and be grateful that you get the privilege of growing old, bitch. Life's sooooo much better past your mid 20s.

i love when there's a video of some farmers in romania or something or just like rural living in general and people in the comments are like "these people are so strong and they NEVER COMPLAIN unlike those liberal snowflakes 🤬" and it always makes me laugh because its so clear that none of these commenters have ever spoken to one of those people... because in reality ALL THEY DO IS COMPLAIN .. trust me i know all about it. literally all they do is complain all the time about everything in their life. this image people have in their head of a happy farmer running around with happy cows on a meadow is so funny.. bro my family still to this day wakes up at 4 am to feed the chickens and throw cow shit around... and they do complain.. ALL THE TIME
#i call this loretta lynn syndrome#it refers to the belief that if the poor and beleaguered (mostly of the past) had love#then they never longed for more or wished themselves different#love can absolutely make a difference#(and yes it can heal—thank you autocomplete and peter gabriel)#but it takes a lot more than love to keep a farm and family going#and complaining is as old as time itself#it's everyone's favourite pastime!#and this is one of the ways that this belief survives today#i was sort of watching the pioneer woman the other mornkng#just because i was eating and didn't want to change the channel#her daughter had come back home and they were showing all the work she did on the ranch#up with the roosters and all that#i have no doubt that that kind of work is rewarding#but it's not easy and nobody knows that better than those who actually do it#it's almost always the little keyboard warriors who are like ohh the libs would melt if they had to milk a cow#you do it then. go ahead. go start a farm

VERY IMPORTANT a dam in the Netherlands, the weerdsluis lock, is directly on a migratory path for spawning fish. They have a worker stationed there to open the door for the fish, but they can take a while to open it. So to keep the fish from getting preyed on by birds they installed a doorbell. Only, the fish don't have hands to ring the doorbell. If you go to their website, they have a LIVE CAMERA AND A DOORBELL that YOU RING FOR THE FISH when they're waiting, and then the dam worker opens the door for them! I can't express how obsessed I am with this. look at this shit. oh my god.
Please check on the fish doorbell once in a while :)
