Just found out that half shy (one of the artists who was in the distant lands ost) has a song about finn and jake's relationship from finn's pov named "In My Element" and fuck man just fuck. Sooooo if you are a person like me who likes to cry daily thinking about the cutest bros ever GO AND LISTEN TO IT.

i never have plots but i have vague ideas of the world/genre my characters would live in & often they start as interesting, like, supernatural stuff and then it just becomes like some boring slice of life or whatever 💀 like i had these 2 characters (mostly just in my head bc the few times i tried to draw them they just didnt feeeel right) & they're in the same tennis club(?) and theres monsters. and they fight monsters while they're in their tennis clothes with their silly little tennis rackets. bc i liked the visuals of that... using a tennis racket as a weapon. but i literally completely forgot that that was how they started bc now it's just that they're kind of tennis rivals (they're still in the same club) but they're both really mid. like neither of them are even good at tennis at all. & they've got like a specific dynamic which i really like bc its silly & its different from all my other characters but it's kind of convoluted so it's hard to explain . and i need to go to bed also. goodnight

I think it's so interesting to think about the unique social implications of things on the islands. Like, the animal hats & how they originally existed for the practical purpose of protection & they kept wearing them even after that wasn't a factor anymore. & how the hats we see in the present day (when Finn & co visit the islands) don't really resemble animal hats, do they? & maybe that's just to make the significant human characters (who do still wear animal hats) seem more distinct but you best believe I'm going to make it into something bigger. Oh I'm so bad at putting my thoughts into words but it's something how the hats evolved into a new meaning. & when robo susan rips friedas hat off its like a very violating moment. Something something hats, the lack thereof, vulnerability. I don't know. Sorry. I was going somewhere with this but I don't know how to explain it. You get it though. Hats are interesting.

I like to think that (when everyone got sick and lots of them died and the rest moved to a new island) there was a bunch of small shifts & the animal -> abstract hats was one of them. And Frieda still wearing her dog hat shows her still holding onto the past in some way. There we go, that's something. This isn't a total nothing post after all

always boggling to me when someone assumes a drawing of mine is of a guy just because it has short hair. theyre like yeah this is the short hair girl who draws girls with short hair all the time. surely this time it is a guy though

my hot take is that yellow isn't that good of a colour. i dont hate it but i think its the least versatile colour. i think every colour has its time and place but yellow just. yanno. has that time and place less often. sunsets are overrated, i dont think the yellow and the orange pink/red works as well as people say it does. sunflowers are okay though. like with the blue sky behind it, i think that all works nicely. but thats just from an aesthetic perspective, like, photos of sunsets are meh (depending on how yellow they are) but sunsets themself are nice. i don't think it's because of how they look though, it's just about it being a nice time of day. when it's cooling down but still bright enough that I can get by just with the light coming in through the window. like its kind of dimmed but in a pleasant way, not like when its gloomy outside at what should be the brightest time of day (i literally hate that so much its such a mood killer). also maybe the sunsets i see IRL are more subtle. i dont need the sky to be bright orange and yellow. but when the sky is still a bit blue and the clouds are pinkish orangeish, thats really nice. so. yellow used to be my favourite colour when i was a child so i guess ive just gone in the opposite direction. i honestly really don't even hate it but i don't think i have many opinions on individual colours themselves so much as how they look in relation to eachother. so i think yellow is my least favourite colour just by nature of not looking nice with many other colours.
