It was new year’s day— or should i say morning, it was 4AM, the house was quiet and the gang was passed out on the floor. Ponyboy, Johnny, and Darry decided to go to bed instead. Dallas was fast asleep in Darry’s chair, Two-Bit laid on the floor with a pillow, and Steve had taken a blanket to sleep.

You and Soda laid on the couch, cuddling and enjoying the peace. The house was wrecked, there was beer bottles on the floor, glitter was on the floor and in everyone’s hair, and polaroids laid on the table. Soda laid in between your legs, his head using your stomach as a pillow.

Your hands tangled in his brown hair, your long nails soothed him. It had became a habit, you wouldn’t even realize that your hands always made their way to his hair, but he did. You looked around and the memories of the party crossed your mind, you never had a dull moment with the boys. They gave you some of your best memories and you’d hold onto them forever.

“I love it when you run your fingers through my hair.” Sodapop broke the silence, his eyes were closed and his lips held the softest smile.

“And I love you, I guess we both win.” You softly said, your voice was quiet so you wouldn’t wake the boys. Soda lifted himself up and attached his soft lips to yours, his breath smelled like beer but you didn’t care. The kiss was gentle and loving, his hands were on both sides of your hips, his fingertips were cold but left a burning sensation. He laid his head back but on your chest, his arms wrapped tightly around your waist and your hands still tangled in his hair.

Your eyes started getting heavy and the last thing you recalled hearing before you fell asleep was Soda’s soft voice.
