It's probably been said, but I think it should be way more common to create lore for yourself. like the divide between gender identity and sex, there should be a divide created between biologically factual info, and your Lore. Who you are. As someone who's trans and otherkin, I think it would work the same way.

Biologically, I was born female, but I am non-binary, and not a girl at all.

Biologically, I was born human, but I'm not human.

Biologically, I was birthed from another person, but I was actually planted in the womb from an otherworldly hivemind like a parasitic bird species and convinced those around me that I wasn't a fucked up grub creature and that I'm actually human.
