(small note that this is a shortcut that is more abt style and ease than anatomical accuracy. it helps to take time to really properly study hands, makes it easier to bend the rules a bit like this and have it still look good!!)
this drawing has been in my brain for THE LONGEST TIME,,,, i finally drew it. so i really adore mcr and the demolition lovers really stuck with me and i just wanted to redraw the three cheers album cover with them cause i love them and they are my world thank u
I can't tell if some of the new followers are bots or not knowing that thing about the new users getting auto names... ;-; Please change your icon and give yourself a title or anything so we know! And welcome, feel free to say hi lol
disclaimer: I am east asian. if anyone who is not white sees anything wrong with my phrasing, inaccuracies, or insensitivity, or something I missed, please feel free to add on. I’m just one person with one perspective; none of what I say should be taken as The Singular way to draw an Asian character. if you havent done so already, please take the effort to expand your view of Asian culture outside this one tutorial.
if a white person reblogs this and adds something stupid I’m going to bite and kick you like a wild animal
A compilation of stuff I know about drawing Asian faces and Asian culture! I feel like many “How-To-Draw” tutorials often default to European faces and are not really helpful when drawing people of other races. So I thought I’d put this together in case anyone is interested! Feel free to share this guide and shoot me questions if you have any! I’m by no means an expert, I just know a few things from drawing experience and from my own cultural background.
do u use references when u draw anatomy? im in loveee with your style and how casual and natural the poses you draw are and i keep trying to do that too but it never works out for me
would u be willing to share your sources/what kind of refs u use if you do use them? thank you so so so so so much 😭❤️
HI!!! Hello!!
I do use references here and there to get certain things right! I absolutely love reference use!! (I've taken a lot of figure drawing classes too so that the muscle memory can be stronger! I also just watch lots of tv(or tiktoks lol), pause, and draw what i see!
But My main source is pin/trest and I even continue to compile a lot of references and put them in their own little categories! I check there often to study up on things or to get me an idea for some thumbnail work! Even the fashion poses are super helpful!
But I do recommend strengthening the muscle memory too!!
Here's some sites that are all about line of action and stuff:
Site 1 | Site 2 | SITE 3 AAA
(I do recommend tik/tok for natural poses when people are just chilling or type in art poses and a lot of cool people pose and give you dynamic poses!! ^^!
There's a lot of youtube videos on figure drawing and anatomy too! Nice binge watches!
