SCENARIOS WITH UNDERTONES OF TENSION

1) one muse quietly sits beside the other while they cry so they won’t be alone and to make sure no one bothers them.

2) one muse rests their hands on the other’s shoulders from behind,  intending to soothe them and intimidate an unwelcome third party. 

3)  one muse pulls the other into an alley or small space to avoid a third party,  their faces a little too close together. 

4) for our muses to get in an argument but after one muse steps closer while making a point,  they get distracted by how near they are.  bonus points for eyes wandering to the other’s lips. 

5) for one muse to firmly grab a hold of the other while arguing,  the touch slowly growing gentler as they recognize how strong their emotions are for them. 

6) one muse discovers the other has placed themselves in a dangerous,  under cover situation and steps in to help but gives them a severe look when no one is watching to indicate their disapproval. 

7) one muse is in a precarious situation and thinks the rival muse is going to expose or betray them,  but instead they help. 

8) one muse can tell the other is hiding something and grabs a hold of their shoulders to keep them still and make them admit it. 

9) one muse gives the other a brief casual touch,  unintentionally stirring up emotions in the other who swears the warmth lingers on their skin. 

10) one muse is in danger and the other takes hold of their hand to lead them to safety. 

11) one muse is trying to intimidate the other in an attempt to push them away,  but they step closer instead and refuse to let it affect them. bonus points for answering gruffness with gentleness. 

12) a rival or antagonistic muse requires help and coerces the other into giving it to them,  but it leads to them protecting the other muse with a little too much care. 

13) rival or antagonistic muse gets hurt defending the other,  who then forces them to let them treat the injury. 

14) one muse figure out the other is hiding something from them and thinks it’s a betrayal,  only to confront them and realize the other was protecting them  (  possibly at great cost or sacrifice  ). 

15) a muse who is a rival or claims dislike of the other gets angry on their behalf and does something to get revenge for or protect them. 

16) one muse tries to pick a fight with the other because they’re upset,  but they refuse to participate and hug them until they stop struggling. 

17) one muse has been holding a grudge only to discover the other has been secretly doing something to help them. 

18) one muse broke the other’s trust and gets hurt doing something rash to try and win it back. 

19) one muse gets hurt trying to help the other which leads to an argument,  resulting in the one who was being protected to proclaim how much they care about the injured party. 

20) one muse gets hurt trying to help the other which leads to an argument,  resulting in the one injured to proclaim how much they care about the one they were protecting. 

21) antagonistic muse sets out to kill the other,  however the target is too accepting of their fate which makes the antagonist hesitant and curious. 

22) one muse briefly touches the other but when they start to withdraw,  the other places a hand over theirs to keep it in place. 

23) one muse hugs a gruffer or rival muse and refuses to let go until they hug back. 

24) an antagonistic or rival muse is given an act of kindness which baffles them and leads them to stare at the one who gave it with a puzzled expression. 

25) a rival or antagonistic muse ends up being the unlikely person to be there when the other finally breaks down over something they have been suppressing for the sake of their loved ones.

brock felt like he was on cloud nine after their win, especially since they had just swept this whole series pushing them into the next round. as they all headed back to the locker room, brock was more than ready to facetime dixie to let her know the good news. even though he saved her a seat, like he did at every game, he knew she was deep into recording a new album and didn’t want to disturb her. as the whole team piled into the locker room, he felt his smile widen the minute he saw dixie and couldn’t help but to laugh. 

“just alright? how about champion worthy?” he teased as he scooped her up into his arms and gave her a tight and much needed hug. when brock finally set her down, he leaned in to give her a kiss, smiling against her lips. “i thought someone was recording this week?” he teased as he gave her a little nudge. “but i’m really glad you’re here, babe. man, i can’t believe you saw the whole thing.” brock said with a little laugh and a shake of his head. 

“we should go out and celebrate, c’mon it’s not like we’re playing again tomorrow. dinner? room service? you name it, we’ll do it.” 

“hmm.. maybe champion worthy. you could tighten up on your defense.” she laughed as he scooped her up, arms wrapping around his neck as he pulled her in. once upon a time she had sworn she’d never let herself fall so hard for anyone else again, that she could never feel safe in a guys arms. until brock came around and tore through all of those false promises with ease and grace. now she knew what true love was, and it was here with him. “and get into a few more fights.” she teased, accepting his kiss with ease. 

“it is, but it’s my album, i’m a grammy winner. i can make my own schedule.” dixie beamed, hands sliding to lightly squeeze his cheeks. there was nothing better than this, she was sure of it. “i couldn’t miss it babe, you’re always there for me.” it was the least she could do. her first husband had thrived off her success, but he thought of it as his. brock was just happy to be there next to her. 

leaning up she pressed a kiss against his lips. “it’s your night babe, you decide. i’ll just follow along wherever. i’m just happy to be here with you.” so if that was dancing or room service or dinner, she’d be happy. “but we just can’t be old and boring.”

for some reason, knox was nervous. not just the normal nerves that settled in his stomach, but the kind that made his palms sweaty and him overthink every single thing. he wasn't even fully sure what this was between him and lexi, and that probably even made it worse.

he was just joining her for a show, but it was with her friends. it was outside their own siloed moments, their own spaces where they could define everything. "do i uh, do i look okay?" he turned to her, hand running through his hair as he gave a lopsided smile.

lexi stepped closer looking at him with a seemingly skeptical smile before reaching up to adjust his tie. "thanks, uh i'm not used to wearing these." he indicated to the tie and button down, usually opting for jeans and a crew sweatshirt. god, was he already sweating? it wasn't exactly planned, but nothing between them ever was. he seemed to have a way of impulsively and surprisingly kissing her, or saying something unexpected. so violet thought it was her turn to return the gesture. and so when he was over at her house, she made up her mind to make a move. it had started as a hesitant kiss when she walked him to her door, but it didn't take long for her to deepen it.

ben pulled back from the kiss for, their first one in their own privacy instead of in front crowds. it felt different, but she tried to ignore it. her arms were clasped around his neck, wide eyes staring up at him as he spoke. "you're okay with us doing this, right? because if you're not -"

"yes, of course, i-" she paused, hands slipping away. was he not okay with this? did he only want to kiss her in the presence of others? to prove something?
