Just gonna affirm here that phalloplasty is for anyone who might want it---trans men, nonbinary people, women, multigender people---anyone.

It's your body, and nobody gets to tell you what to do with it. You don't have to justify your happiness to anyone.

It's a shame that a lot of the big online spaces for phallo resources are 1) rife with transmed/truscum ideology, and 2) often hostile to nonbinary and/or feminine people to the point where anyone who expresses wanting phallo is shoved into a binary or accused of being some kind of poser.

(Even I, a masculine binary trans man, have been blocked by people on the phallo reddit because I am not getting a vnectomy, for example.)

Like, does it even matter if you don't like someone's reason for getting bottom surgery? No, it doesn't. It's their body, not yours. If we truly want to respect people's bodily autonomy, we have to live with people doing things with their bodies that you don't approve of and you wouldn't do with yours.

Anyone can have/want a penis. It's not a bad thing. It's not an inherently male thing. It's not violent or gross. It's just a neutral body part that makes different people happy in different contexts. Enough with the bioessentialism and the idea that being trans or wanting an alternative/nonbinary body is some kind of disease.

No offence but some younger queer people heard "nonbinary is not a third gender" and interpreted that as "no nonbinary person identifies as a third gender".

And some people heard "nonbinary people are outside of the gender binary" and interpreted that as "no nonbinary person identifies as a binary gender. no nonbinary identifies as both 100% a man AND 100% a woman because that's not outside of the binary". (????)

And some younger nonbinary people seem to have internalised "well I'm nonbinary and I don't feel that way so you're wrong", even though the entire point of being nonbinary is that there's literally infinite ways to experience gender.

What I'm trying to say is, there's an identity entirely built around not fitting into narrow boxes, and yet a hefty chunk of our own community seems hellbent on forcing us into boxes anyway.

abled people love to do this thing where they simply expect you to do the heavy lifting of not applying their ableist comments to yourself. “I think people who order doordash all the time are lazy” “hey im disabled and i need to do this” “well OBVIOUSLY i just mean the people who don’t /really/ need to!”

They want to believe they would never knowingly be cruel to a disabled person (and by that they mean those they think are sufficiently disabled), but they are all of the time. and if they actually examined that then they would need to take responsibility for it, so they don’t.

The transmasculine version to extrafeminine / extransfeminine

Extransmasc (extransmasculine), extramasc (extramasculine), or extrasmasc (extrasmasculine) is a term for a transgender and/or sensgender person who was assigned female or designated feminine at birth and experiences a masculine or man identity (or adjacent, aligned, related, etc.) It could serve as a sensmasc(uline) term for individuals who are AFAB, an umbrella including DFAB transtidals, transmascs, admascs, etc. It's the counterpart to intramasculine and transrainian.

If your transition goal is to have a complete removal of all your internal and external genitalia, there is a real surgery that people get to do that. It’s called genital nullification.

It’s also called nullectomy or nullo.

It’s not a very new or super complicated surgery. Everything is taken out/taken off and you’re left with just a hole for your urethra (where you urinate out of). The urethra may be moved as part of surgery. If you research the procedure you’ll also probably hear them talk about urethral shortening, because nullification is mostly done on cis men/transfems/nonbinary patients who require a penectomy as part of the surgery.

Now don’t get this for an aesthetic or because you like how dolls look. It takes 6-8 weeks of recovery and is as serious a decision as any other bottom surgery. More info is here and here. This website has some info and pictures (graphic warning) of nullification along with phallus-preserving vaginoplasty, another nonbinary surgery.

Well, it's official! According to my surgeon's office, I'll be getting GRS this year! Still waiting for an official word from the scheduling team but I should hear back by the end of the week
