Gegenschein

The gegenschein is a faint spot of light in the sky, diametrically opposite of the Sun.

The fact that its spectrum is identical to that of the Sun, like the zodiacal light, enforces the conclusion that we are seeing sunlight reflected from dust grains in the plane of the solar system.

There have been reports that under very favorable viewing conditions the zodiacal light extends to the gegenschein. The gegenshein is even fainter than the zodiacal light — fainter than the Milky Way — so any additional light from Moon, street lights, or a nearby planet and any obscuring haze make it impossible to see this faint glow.

This is the alarm jellyfish (Atolla Wyvillei) - and it has a rather unique defence mechanism. When the alarm jellyfish is attacked, it flashes brightly using bioluminescence in an attempt to attract other animals. The idea is to encourage confusion and fights between predators, while the jellyfish can swim away.

Jade: Head to the Mainland

You have had a long week of working on your next big project, and you think you deserve a little break. You leave your computer and robots in charge of the lab, and get out your orb. This little invention has saved you a lot of grief over the years. It looks like a normal little white cueball, but in reality, it has the ability to teleport you or any object or person you wish to any given location (So long as they have been there before)! It would be a great addition to modern science…if you weren’t a known criminal.

You take your various weaponry and get it all in one pile on the ground, including your RIFLE, your AMAZING ALL-SEEING GLASSES, your BACK UP LASER, and some ammunition. It’s all just incase though, you aren’t going in to cause any trouble.

Yet.

You take your infinitesimilator/monstrosifier and turn the dial to red, firing it at the pile to make all of the weapons tiny enough to fit into your backpack. You’re going to be looking rather civilian today, with a green and white striped sweater and some khaki pants- shirt tucked in- and green sneakers. Along with a set of computer-earmuffs with squiddles on them. No one would ever recognize you unless they were looking for you. You’re pretty sure it’s cold on the mainland…

You say goodbye to bec and your digital companions, and activate the orb. You think of the mainland market in the back alley and away you go into the city!
