new theory: it's some audio engineer's kink. in the same way that farts and smelly feet and bondage were in kids cartoons in the CN era. someone snuck into the advertising industry and gets off on recording wet lipsmack crunching with high tech audio equipment and insists to the upper management it's psychologically going to convince people the food is extra tasty but really theyre doing it because its their nasty secret kink

at work we aren't allowed to install adblockers so i get subjected to youtube ads again and there is an overabundance of absolutely fucking disgusting Eating Noises in these things. like way too loud, too close to the mic, high fidelity wet rank sickening crunching crisp noises or people lipsmacking or talking with their mouth full. RIGHT in my ear. to advertise, like, food that i'm supposed to somehow find appetising. and not want to be sick at the sheer stomach turning Hell Sounds being played at me against my will. why do they think this is effective psychology. how is this legal. you used to get banned from voice channels for this sort of thing. what the fuck is happening

the humble "like" is oft mocked despite what it does for us. "like, three people" is a vastly different statement from "three people". "and i was like 'what the fuck'" is vastly different from "and i said 'what the fuck'". i love you "like" and anyone who says you make people sound stupid will be killed on sight
