I have a species I made up, and the people are called Harpies. I will use Phoenix as an example

Phoenix is albino, but most Harpies has darker skin, dark brown or black hair, and darker wings with patterns. Usually green or orange eyes also. Phoenix has red :3

So I know what a real harpy is, and I know what I was doing when I named the people. The reason that's the name for them is because when humans were trying to take over and colonize everything (they failed), they saw a guy with wings and was like "WOAH, BIRD PERSON! THAT'S A HARPY. WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN!"

Most bipedal people who resemble birds or have feathers at all are called Harpies now. Humans love categories, but they can't actually make them.

Imo I just say the name of the product. There's nothing wrong with saying "tampon," or another typa product, it's like being jumpy about saying "band-aid"

People skip around terms so much they forget about the actual word/term which is ALREADY NEUTRAL 😭

Everything concerning bodies is "dirty" unless you're a guy bragging about your body count or someone is joking about gooning, and it's bad enough that people sometimes don't reach out for medical help because they're embarrassed. If normal stuff wasn't treated as "dirty" we wouldn't even have to worry about the "feminine products" thing in the first place. Just as easy to even say "period stuff" but of course apparently nobody wants to hear about that. Enough yapping, though.

Basically just saying that I agree and using the more direct terms is better anyway
