I’m in a production of Newsies, and before every show, we do a fight call where we basically run through the big fight at the end of act 1 before Santa Fe. But since we’re doing it before the show, we’re all in our costumes for top of show. So me and three other people are all dressed as nuns, and one of them is the cop the helps Snyder catch and beat Crutchie, so it’s quite the sight.

A List of Every Law and Legal Right Ignored or Broken in the Courtroom scene in the movie or earlier scripts because it's a long list and it gets under my skin as a Law obsessed nerd:

Obviously Sn6der wouldn't have been allowed to represent Jack, he has no legal training, hasn't passed the bar, and is on the prosecutions side,

The judge wouldn't be allowed to preside over Jack's case because he has personal connections to one side (Snyder) so conflict of interest

They would have to call a parent/legal guardian/ or cps worker because minors can't be tried without a adult to represent them

They also would of had to call a ACTUAL LAWYER because as said, SNYDER DOESN'T HAVE LEGAL TRAINING

Snyder airing out Jack's personal business would have been shut down immediately because, it wasn't case relevant (his real name and him perviously being in the Refuge were but what happened to his parents and Snyders personal opinions weren't), it was inappropriately worded, and half of it was just Snyder calling him a delinquent, also Snyder would have been scolded for his comments on Micheal's death because they were WILDLY inappropriate

They didn't actually. Go through! The court! PROCESS!!! THEY DIDN'T ASK HIM TO DECLARE IF HE WAS INNOCENT OR GUILTY THEY DIDN'T CALL ANYONE TO TESTIFY DISPITE ALL THE NEWSIES BEING THERE THEY DIDNT PROVIDE EVIDENCE THEY DIDN'T SHOW A WARRENT FOR HIS ARESST AND THEY DIDNT STATE WHAT HE WAS CHARGED WITH

The entire courtroom scene was a mess and Snyder and the Judge would have been formally scolded and fired in the real world

I love the Courtroom scene from a I love watching Jack kelly suffer stand point

And from a I love to hate Snyder standpoint

But as a kid in the law pathway it hurts to watch/read

Like they broke so many rules it's insane

Like fun fact the court actually has laws and procedures we have to follow SNYDER

There are so many mistakes and spelling errors in this post because I'm very mad about this for no good reason
