caught in your spiral | ethan landry
Tumblr media
notes: inspired by @5ickworld ! will most likely write a chad version of this. female reader, reader is also ghostface. minor violence and taunting with a knife! kirby reference if you squint. scream vi spoilers if you haven’t seen. will make a part 2.
Hearing the sounds of their panicked screams was nothing more than a delight to her; knowing that under the innocent smiles and jokes with the group and her boyfriend unmasked a killer in deep waters.
“Hello, Ethan.” The dark voice rang out as the curly-headed boy held his phone up to his ear, looking frightened as his eyes darted around the vacant dorm, just arriving back from class the same night his friends had gotten attacked.
“H-hello?” He stuttered, the words barely able to come out of his throat, breathing hitched as he gripped onto the sheets of his bed comforter.
“Are you okay? You seem scared.” She had taunted, a chuckle erupting from her voice as the modulator made it sound more eerie than it should’ve been. But oh, to tease and to torment. Quinn was the more brutal one, while she liked to play with her food.
It’s how Anika got to meet her fate.
Unsure of himself, Ethan slowly got up and made his way to his bedroom doorframe, “Who are you?” He questioned the dark, as he flipped on the hallway switch, “W-what do you want?”
“Call me a friend.” There was a pause before a rustling noise was heard from the closet door, “Someone to be there for you.” More taunting.
“I mean, you don’t want to die alone, do you?”
This instantly set the bar for Ethan, not taking a second glance at the closet door before bolting it to the exit.
Immediately she popped out of the closet, slamming into the awkward boy as she pressed him up against the wall, seeming to tease him with the knife as it was dragged down his torso.
The look on his face gave her nothing more than joy, as his labored breaths grew shorter and more fast-paced the longer the knife stayed on his body.
Albeit being built and tall, Ethan was perfect prey, like a deer in headlights; frozen. One look at him and you’d think he knew how to defend himself, but without any weapons available, he was defenseless.
After a few more minutes of reaping the fear out of the boy in front of her, she stabbed his shoulder and pushed him to the ground, kicking him in the back in the process.
After he was down on the ground, she picked up a nearby vase and dropped it on top of his head, double-checking her own work to make sure he was fully unconscious.
This was finally getting fun.

dead in the water | ethan landry
Tumblr media
notes: female reader. spoilers if you have not seen scream vi yet. interpret this as you want, may make a part 2.
She swore to herself that she couldn’t get caught up in the anarchy that came with Ghostface and his allies again. She thought that after the first time, she would learn her lesson, but the eyes of death bored straight through her soul, gripping onto the knife her sister had bought her.
“C’mon princess, I’d like to see how far you get with that blade.” Her lover taunted, pointing a knife of his own at her as a careful invitation to come over.
“Fuck you.” She muttered, thinking of making the next move as she made her way over to him.
He chuckled, a small grin on his face as she raised the blade ever so slightly to rest above his collarbone, “You and I both know it’ll only ever be a dream.”
“For which one of us?” She pressed the blade enough to break the skin slightly, a small amount of blood showing, causing her breath to hitch. “You were the one who stabbed my sister.”
“And you wanted to finally become the victim, right sweetheart?”
The knife thrust into her abdomen, causing her to scream out, but still managed her composure enough to drag the blade across his throat.
“You’ll finally become the final girl you always craved to be, with Sam, Tara, and Kirby all dead.”
He harshly pulled the knife out from its resting place in her abdomen, causing her to fall and drop the blade that once was previously against his throat.
“My little star, vulnerable and covered in her own blood.” He teased, his tall figure shadowing her, “So pretty. Such a shame you wasted all those dirty thoughts on me, hm?”
He left her writhing in pain with a chuckle escaping his lips as his eyes darted up to the sight of Quinn approaching the Carpenter sisters.
“You guys are so fucked now!”

attention | ethan landry
Tumblr media
notes: im back!!!!! surprise fic guys <3 inspired by the song by charlie puth. female reader
He would be lying to himself if he said he wasn’t staring the moment she walked in.
She captivated his attention with her Tiffany Valentine costume, sitting on the couch armrest, a beer in hand, beside Anika and Mindy. She was talking to the duo excitedly, discussing that it was fun to actually see people dress up for a Halloween party than dismiss it as childish.
“I agree; in sixth grade, I showed up dressed as Catwoman and everyone looked at me weird!”
“Some people have no respect for dressing up anymore.”
It was like he was caught up in some sort of lucid dream, he couldn’t believe that any of this was real, and it was the fact that she had gone to his school nevertheless.
He had to make a move.
But he didn’t know how.
This gave his roommate a free opportunity to become a wingman, sliding up to the introverted boy with a big grin on his face.
“I see you checking out (y/n), Landry. Don’t try to hide it.”
As soon as he heard Chad’s voice, he instantly broke out of his trance, blushing because one, he was embarrassed, and two, he was completely right. He was staring.
“W-what? No, I’m not- I’m not checking her out.”
Chad had given his roommate a look that essentially read, ‘cut the bullshit.’
Sighing, he had put an arm around the curly-haired boy, “Look, Ethan. We need to get you introduced to some girls.” Chad paused, looking back at Ethan, “Especially (y/n), she’s respectfully a catch.”
His eyes widened at the mention of her name, in which he instantly shook his head, “No,” He stuttered, “I can’t.”
“You can.” Chad then removed his arm from his roommate and placed his hands on either shoulder, “You’re Ethan Landry. An entire meal.”
The cowboy-dressed boy proceeded to then push Ethan in the direction of where the girl was, and he then began to scuff his sneakers, trying to stop his roommate from pushing him any further.
“Dude, I can’t.” His shoulders slumped down as the words left his mouth, sighing in the process. “Do you remember that girl I told you about who dumped me before graduation?”
“Yeah, I remember.” Chad nodded, aware of the aforementioned situation, “She wrote you a letter about how her parents didn’t want you with her or something, then she moved.”
“Well,” Ethan took a long glance at the girl who made eye contact before he turned his attention back to Chad, “That’s her.”
Chad’s eyes widened a bit before noticing the girl was walking in their direction, “It also looks like she’s coming this way.” He then walked away, which caused his roommate to panic before he mouthed ‘just talk to her!’ before leaving completely.
“Ethan?”
The aforementioned boy panicked a bit more before turning around and facing reality, “Oh, uh, hey, (y/n).”
“Look, can we talk? I’m really sorry about leaving you the way I did.” She sighed, looking back at Ethan once again.
“I-I...” Ethan stuttered, before taking his shaky hands and removing his homemade knight costume helmet to look at her better. “I was afraid I lost you for good.”
“Me?” She paused, taking a moment to put her hand on the side of his face, reassuring him, “Never.”
Ethan’s heartbeat was running several races at the moment, as it was beating so fast that he couldn’t comprehend what was going on around him or what was going to happen next.
This definitely had to be a dream.
Instinctively, Ethan wrapped an arm around her waist and impulsively kissed her, the headrush hitting him hard from the anxiety and excitement.
He repeatedly apologised after they separated, blaming the shot he had reluctantly taken earlier as to why he was acting this way.
“It’s okay.” She smiled at him, “You can do it again sometime.”
This was a chance Ethan was not going to give up.
After he kissed her again, the words dropped from his mouth like flies.
“I don’t want to lose you again, can we start over?”
“Of course.”

family ties pt. 3 | ethan landry
Tumblr media
notes: ahhhhhhhh im gonna miss writing for this series, so here’s a little post family ties service for you guys! scream spoilers utc.
finale tags: @callsignwidow
After the current events that had shadowed her past life, (y/n) dropped out of Blackmore, not knowing if she would be able to handle the school’s atmosphere after she and her friends literally had gotten attacked there.
What was worse than her not going back, was the fact that her life would never be normal again. Nothing would ever be the same, and it would have to go on like that from there.
No more normal.
As she sat in her hospital room, she watched as the news reported on the Ghostface killings that just had occurred in and around Blackmore University, pulling her legs to her chest as she felt the feelings beginning to overwhelm her.
“Among the bodies found were the New York Police Department’s own Detective Wayne Bailey, alongside nineteen-year-old Blackmore University students Quinn Bailey and Ethan Landry.”
The tears started to fall rapidly down (y/n)’s face at the mention of her dead fiance, knowing that she had lost the one person that truly ever loved her, besides her sister.
There was nobody to console her anymore, as both of her parents cut contact with her after finding out that her boyfriend was related to the other killer of the Woodsboro attacks in 2022.
After the death of her sister Amber, all (y/n) had left was Ethan.
Now that he was dead as well, she had nothing to turn to anymore.
“It is reported that the Detective and the two students were related, being the family of Richie Kirsch, one of the killers in the Woodsboro Massacre of 2022.”
(y/n) wished that this was all a dream, that Sam and Tara had finally gotten what they deserved for the deaths of Richie and Amber, and that her father and sister-in-law were successful in killing the Carpenter sisters and survived.
She wished that Ethan was still alive.
“Also being rumoured tonight, is that the sole survivor of this ‘Ghostface Family’ is none other than (y/n) Freeman, who is the sister of Amber Freeman, the other known killer of the Woodsboro Massacre in 2022. Online, there was a circulation that Ethan and (y/n) were engaged and that-”
(y/n) quickly shook her head; this wasn’t real, they weren’t reporting on her private life, they didn’t know that yet, how could they have possibly known that? Only Sam and Tara knew, and that was at the big reveal, nobody else knows.
(y/n) ran her hands through her hair as the reporting didn’t stop, the world was getting too close to knowing who she really was and what her involvement was with the killings; she needed to get out of here, she needed to run, she needed to-
“(y/n)?”
(y/n) quickly whipped her head around to see a very much alive Ethan, which she didn’t believe in the slightest; regardless, she jumped out of her bed and ran to him instantly and hugged him.
He felt real, but why didn’t it seem right?
“Ethan?” She stuttered out of shock, “H-how are you alive? T-They... You’re supposed to be dead!”
As Ethan chuckled, a small smile appeared on his face as he cupped (y/n)’s face in his hand, “Dead?” He questioned, stepping closer to her, “Do you know what’s easier than getting away with murder?”
Closing the gap between them, Ethan leaned in to kiss (y/n) passionately, the second kiss coming off as softer than the first.
“Cheating death.”
── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──
“Come on! She’s been having these dreams for months now, sis. I should be the expert in ghosts, here!”
“I know. But still. It’s normal for someone like her. Doesn’t that Carpenter girl still see visions of her dad?”
“I wish I had visions of her dad.”
“Can’t you be serious for once? She’s part of the same messed up family we are in!”
(y/n) groaned as she sat up, glancing at the photo she printed out of when Richie captured the perfect shot of Ethan proposing to her, the engagement ring beside it on her nightstand.
Sighing, she slowly got up and walked out into the kitchen, meeting the two pairs of eyes that saved her.
“There’s the final girl!”
The person who spoke earned an elbow to the stomach after their comment, then clutching over onto the counter dramatically, moaning.
“That hurt!”
“Yeah, well so did losing her boyfriend.” She turned back over to (y/n), “How you doing sweetie? Still having dreams of him?”
(y/n) nodded solemnly as she tucked various strands of hair behind her ears, “I refuse to give him up. Tara and Sam should be the ones dead. Not him.”
The woman sighed as she understood the girl’s pain, “I know. When my son got murdered by your sister, I was mad at first, but after what happened to you, I lightened up. Just a bit.”
“Do you know where they are now?”
“The holidays are coming up soon. You might catch them back in New York for Christmas.”
“They’re not traumatized?” (y/n) said in disbelief, smiling a bit, “I think by now they would be traumatized. Two Ghostface killings, dead lovers, killing my entire family and my baby Ethan.”
She watched a grin form on the other’s face, glancing at the fridge, swearing she had seen Ethan just standing there.
“Is Sidney going to be there this time?” She had asked, out of sheer curiosity.
“I think so. Gale too.”
“Ooh!” The other had exclaimed, “It’s gonna be a real fiesta, sis!”
The woman tutted before shaking her head, “Not this time. We have to let the girl practice, Stu.”
“But can’t he give me a briefing on Ghostface 101? It wouldn’t be the perfect revenge plan without at least some schooling, Leslie.”
Leslie eventually gave in and sighed, “Alright,” walking to the fridge, she grabbed a beer, “You can give her a couple of tips on killing people. But do not let it get too far.”
“Okay! You’re gonna love it, (y/n), I gotta thank you for getting my mask back.” Stu paused, getting all giddy and nostalgic again, “I’ll be right back!” He had said dramatically, before running off to his room.
Looking into the black hallway, she watched as Ethan attempted to say an ‘I love you’ with his hands, to which (y/n) had responded out loud.
“I love you more.”
(so what did you guys think??? this wasn’t my actual original plan lol. also what is your stance on the stu still being alive theory? + also (y/n) has visions of ethan now; thoughts?)

bloodline pt. 4 | ethan landry
Tumblr media
notes: final part in the bloodline series!!!! im gonna miss writing about this. let me know if you guys want a post family ties thing! etc. reader finding out that ethan didn’t make it and so forth. scream spoilers utc.
finale taglist: @nuhteyam @wroetoslut @callsignwidow @nellyboosworld
“Is this even a good plan?” Ethan asked, as he and the others walked down the stairs to the train station, where their plan for the public subway was laid out for them.
“You don’t have to come if you don’t want to.” Tara retorted, in front of Ethan as she followed Sam.
“So we just peel off, and the killer picks us off one by one? No thank you.”
As Sam continues to make her way to the train, Danny, Tara, and Chad all follow behind, then getting separated by the crowd from Mindy, (y/n), and Ethan.
Mindy tries calling out for her twin brother, but alas, as if the stakes for getting attacked by Ghostface couldn’t get any higher, the three were divided from the rest of them.
As Mindy watches as the train leaves, Ethan and (y/n) come up behind her, with Ethan placing a hand on her shoulder which spooks her.
“Get your Ghostface ass away from me, Ghostface.” She pauses and grabs (y/n)’s hand, “Let’s go (y/n), you have a lesser chance of getting murdered by Ghostface over there if you’re with me.”
As Mindy stands and waits alongside (y/n), she notices that Ethan is still there, and she tries to shoo him away, “Go away!”
“Where’s Mindy?” Sam asks as she and the rest of the gang are on a train five minutes ahead of the trio that was left behind, with Chad saying that she missed the train and that he attempted to catch her before ‘cute boy’ pushed him into the train.
He reassures everyone that it’s okay since she had gotten onto the train with Ethan and (y/n).
“Mindy. What if this plan doesn’t work? What if-”
“(y/n), it’s going to be fine. As long as Ghostface over there doesn’t attack us, we’ll be fine.”
“Why would Ethan attack us? We’re like, surrounded by people. Wouldn’t someone call the cops or something?”
“You never know.”
The power flickers out once again, with Mindy growing more suspicious of not only those dressed up in Ghostface costumes, but of Ethan, who she obviously suspected was Ghostface.
He waved and gave her a lopsided smile in an attempt to regain her trust; obviously, it wasn’t working.
Moments later, a Ghostface swings around the corner and scares Mindy, causing her to move further down the train and farther from both (y/n) and Ethan.
“Mindy, you okay?”
“Yeah, I’ll just be... right here.”
Ironically, as Mindy says that, she is pushed out of her place by some random guy making his way through to a seat, which doesn’t sit right with (y/n).
“Hey, great going, asshole!”
The stranger doesn’t pay (y/n) any mind, which prompts her to burrow her way a bit more into the crowd, standing by a person dressed up as Ghostface while Ethan tries to manage a good sight of the two.
As the lights continue to flicker on and off in the subway, (y/n) notices that the man in the Ghostface costume is getting suspiciously closer to Mindy, which was strange to her. She couldn’t signal Ethan, unfortunately, so, she was going to keep an eye out for Mindy herself.
The lights go out for longer than (y/n) would have liked, because she had lost sight of the Ghostface, not long before she felt something slice into her arm, causing her to put pressure on the wound and cry out.
“Ah, shit!”
Unbeknownst to Ethan and (y/n), the Ghostface had caught up with Mindy and placed a gloved hand over her mouth, before stabbing her in the lower stomach twice before leaving amongst the crowd of other costume-goers.
As the light returns, (y/n) locks eyes with Ethan before watching his go wide, making her turn around and see Mindy clutching her stomach with a bloodied hand.
Both quickly make their way over to Mindy, with Ethan panicking and swearing before picking her up and yelling for help.
As the trio makes their way out of the subway, Mindy mutters about how she was wrong again as Ethan is a suspected Ghostface, with Ethan noticing the cut on (y/n)’s arm.
“Fuck, (y/n), you’re bleeding.”
Help subsequently arrives, as (y/n) mutters a swear under her breath,
“I know.”
── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──
“Why did Quinn have to do that?” (y/n) muttered a swear before fixing herself in the bathroom mirror, opening the door to reveal Ethan halfway in the process of putting on his Ghostface costume.
“Oh,” She paused, looking at Ethan from the bottom up before smiling, “Hello, there, Mr. Ghostface.” She chuckles before taking his hand in which held the mask, “Am I gonna be the helpless victim?”
There was a second of silence between the two before Ethan placed his free hand on the side of (y/n)’s face and kissed her roughly, making an attempt to press his body weight onto her.
“God, I love a man in uniform. You’re so sexy in this, Ethan.”
She slowly puts the mask on her face due to her injured arm, “Do you think I would make a killer Ghostface?”
“You’d make one hell of a Ghostface.” Ethan then removes the mask from her face and kisses her again, before reluctantly pulling away to put the mask on.
“But you might wanna leave, or else they’ll get suspicious.”
“But why would they? Sam and Tara did try to kill us.” A small smile appeared on her face alongside a fake pout, “I’m jealous that I couldn’t get to wear the mask.”
“I’m serious. Or else you won’t make it in.”
(y/n) hummed before heading towards the door, “Oh, alright,” She paused before digging through a drawer nearby and finding her engagement ring.
Blowing him a kiss, (y/n) slipped on her ring before slipping out the door.
“See you in the third act.”
── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──
“I talked to Detective Bailey,” Kirby had said, “He’s got everything set up.”
Kirby was about to ask another question when a cab pulled up beside them, letting (y/n) out, raising minor suspicion between the group.
“(y/n)?” Sam had asked, “Where are Ethan and Mindy?”
“Mindy got attacked on the subway. Ethan’s with her now.” She sighed, running a hand through her hair, “I only got a scratch, but I promised Mindy that I’d take down that motherfucker for her.”
Sam nods, then tells Danny to stay away, not being able to trust him, including that he wasn’t Woodsboro, so he needed to stay back.
As the group walks into the theatre, Kirby mentions how she’s turned to entrance into a kill box, how she had scanned the entire area, and that since she was the only one with a badge, she got to hold onto the gun.
(y/n) then says she’s going to check in with Ethan before walking off into a section of the theatre.
Ethan’s phone chimes with a text from (y/n), with him ignoring it before he receives another one.
‘ETHAN!’
‘ethan answer my texts are you here?’
He sighs before getting ready to reply back before Quinn scolds him, “Who the hell are you texting?”
Ethan furrows his brows and gets defensive, “(y/n), calm down. She wanted to know if I was here.”
“Of course you are!”
Ethan groaned before reacting to (y/n)’s message with a thumbs up, “I’m fucking getting bored.” He complained, then shoving his phone in his back pocket under his Ghostface costume.
“Time to carve up Chad.”
(aaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! as you can see this obviously runs into family ties but ahhhhhh!!!! tell me if you guys want a post family ties fic, it was fun writing this!)

bloodline pt. 3 | ethan landry
Tumblr media
notes: you guys know the drill; read the others before you get here. scream spoilers under the cut & attempted to use a gif that matched the events of each part
(y/n) arrived at the apartment seconds before she heard Mindy making fake retching noises at the sight of Tara and Chad’s flirting, commenting something along the lines of ‘why don’t you two makeout already.’
She chuckled as she yelled, “I agree with Mindy, Chad!”
(y/n) could hear Chad groan from the kitchen as she plopped herself on the couch nearby Anika, “You should be doing that with Ethan by now!”
She threw up the middle finger at him, “That’s gonna get old real quick!”
Sam walked into the kitchen as Chad commented about how it would be a fun little slumber party with the core four.
“Did you just give us a nickname?” Tara had asked, looking up at him.
“I sure did; I mean, we’ve been through a lot together, and, it’s a pretty cool nickname.” Chad smiled, reassuring himself as he leaned up against the kitchen counter.
The girls then teamed up against Chad, saying that the nickname was debatable, and in his defense, Chad said that he could give them a nickname, proceeding to try and attempt a group high five that nobody pitched into.
As the group started playfully bickering about the nickname, Anika and (y/n) noticed on the nightly news that the headline said something about Sam being the target suspect in the recent Ghostface killings.
“Hey, core four?” (y/n) snapped her fingers before looking over at the group in the kitchen, “Bring your asses out to the kitchen, you might wanna see this.”
The news went on about how Sam had ‘attacked’ someone the night prior, and that in the wake of the Woodsboro Ghostface killings last year, rumors started to spread that Sam was the mastermind of it all.
This had gotten to Sam, who turned off the television and stormed off to the dinner table, visibly upset.
Her sister had followed after her, apologizing for the way that she had been handling the trauma from the killings prior, with Sam breaking down that she was tired of being hated all the time, and treated like she was the villain.
Chad and Mindy then sat at the table, with Chad saying that not a single person in the room had hated her and that the four of them had been through some messed up stuff, and how they all handle it differently.
Meanwhile, Anika and (y/n) were currently discussing love lives, how Mindy and Anika met, and how everyone equally agreed that (y/n) should make a move on Ethan, since he had supposedly been pining for her since day one.
“Literally everyone notices it,” Anika said, as she hugged a pillow close to her body, “He has these eyes of like, longing, and we all see it. I know you do too.” Pushing a strand of hair behind her ear, Anika looked at (y/n), “I don’t get why you don’t act on it.”
(y/n) shrugged, leaning back into the couch, “He’s cute and all, but,” She paused, hearing a faint noise, which sounded like Quinn and her current partner going at it again until the six of them all got a text from Danny showing a picture of Quinn getting attacked by Ghostface.
All of them got up and gathered in front of Quinn’s door, with Sam standing in front of (y/n) protectively as they waited for Ghostface to burst out.
“Run.”
With those words, Ghostface kicked the door open, and Quinn’s body towards the group, with Quinn’s lifeless body falling on Anika as Tara and Chad made their way for the front door.
Mindy muttered some profanities before getting her arm slashed by Ghostface, with Sam and (y/n) backing up as Anika made a charge toward the masked killer to protect her girlfriend.
In response, he grabbed her by the throat and started choking her, then proceeded to pick her up and slam her against the fireplace before his knife subsequently went into her stomach.
Sam then throws a knife block at Ghostface’s head, and that’s when Tara and Chad realize their friends didn’t follow their suit, with the four of them upstairs running into Quinn’s room, in which Sam and (y/n) attempt to keep the door shut as they tell Mindy to go to the bathroom door.
As Mindy makes her way to the bathroom, she notices Quinn’s earlier partner dead and covered in blood in the bathtub, screaming “Oh fuck, that guy’s dead!” Before Ghostface appears at the other end of the door, and (y/n) runs over to help keep it shut.
Sam helps by pushing a set of drawers in front of the door, with Ghostface still attempting to barge in while Danny, across from the apartment window, yells subsequently before whipping out a ladder as some sort of makeshift bridge escape from Ghostface.
Sam and Mindy argue about who will go across the ladder when Mindy brings up that someone has to hold the door, and that she’ll send (y/n) before going after, then sending Anika.
As the three had made their way across the ladder, it was now Anika’s turn to cross, her injuries becoming so painful and unbearable that she was more focused on how much it had hurt her than crossing, despite their many desperate pleas.
Ghostface taunts and teases Anika as she attempts to cross the ladder, with Anika eventually falling off of the ladder, hitting her head on a dumpster, then onto the pavement; with Mindy, Sam, and (y/n) watching the whole thing unfold.
── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──
The gang ends up at a shrine within an old movie theatre, led by Gale after Mindy had highly suspected Ethan, taking note that this shrine had all of the evidence and costumes of the victims and previous Ghostface killers, with the addition of a couple of drawings.
After visiting the shrine, they, with ‘they’ being Kirby, Chad, Mindy, Ethan, and (y/n) were in Kirby’s van, currently tracking a call Ghostface had made, with the connection being linked to an apartment on the upper west side.
Sitting on her couch, Gale scrolls through the ‘Woodsboro Truther’ sub on Reddit, looking into more information on who the killers may be and the rumor that started the frenzy around Sam being the mastermind of the 2022 killings.
The phone then rings, which to her boyfriend Brooks replies, “That’ll be our food.” Who is instantly proved wrong when he tells Gale that the call is for her and that it was from the killer.
“Hello?”
“Hello, Gale, strange that you and I have never spoken on the phone; this is long overdue.”
“I agree,” Gale responds, in which she whispers to Brooks to call the police.
“I figured, after all these years you’d want an interview.”
“You figured right. So what’s your motive this time? You angry at the movies, or, are you just trying to stay relevant?”
“I could ask you the same. Don’t you know that the legacy characters are disposable now? Nobody cares about last century’s heroes.”
“Then why bother with me at all?”
“Call it nostalgia. Or maybe you deserve to be punished for all that money you made on the misery of others. Maybe it’s time someone made a buck reporting  your death.”
“You know, you’re like the tenth guy to try this, right? And, spoiler alert; it never works out for the dipshit in the mask.”
Ghostface then nabs Brooks, before continuing on to talk about how previous killers Richie and Amber had carved her former lover, Dewey, up like a Christmas goose.
He continues to taunt about how she was never there for the only man who ever loved her at the end, and that she wasn’t going to be able to stop the attack on her before it began, with Ghostface throwing Brooks’ dead body and wiped the blade clean before chasing her.
Eventually, in the end, Ghostface ends up managing to hurt Gale just enough that when paramedics arrive, she has a weak pulse, and she tells Sam and Tara to tell Sidney that Ghostface had never got her before passing out.
── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──
The gang is now in the lobby of Gale’s apartment building, with Danny arriving shortly after; Tara having the quip of whether or not he actually did get here as fast as he could, and Mindy admitting that she was afraid this time.
“I’m scared you guys; I really don’t wanna get hurt again.”
“Neither do I.” Her twin, Chad agrees.
“And I don’t want you getting hurt again, either.”
“I know,” Chad said, as he rested his head on his twin sister’s shoulder.
Chad then questions what the group can do this time, and Sam suggests that maybe, Ghostface gets to win this time; it’s what he wanted anyways.
Tara then stands up against her sister, and says that it’s their turn to protect her now, and Chad adds in that they are a family now; they’re the core four.
“Isn’t there somewhere safe that we could just, hole up in?” Ethan inquires, to which Tara says that he’s going to keep finding them if they continue to hide.
“I agree with Tara,” (y/n) nods, as all heads turn to her, “The more we hide, the more he knows we’re afraid. We won’t let him get to us; he can’t get to us,” She pauses, crossing her arms, “So why don’t we get him to us?”
“I’m getting my ass chewed out for not dropping the case, and you want me to do what?”
The group was now on speaker phone with Detective Bailey, with Tara formulating a plan to hole Ghostface into his own lair, “We want to lure him to a secure location to trap him inside.”
“And then what?”
“We execute him.”
(this ones a bit short and cut into pieces but i PROMISE there’ll be better action in the next part)

notes: PART TWO TO BLOODLINES, A FAMILY LINES PREQUAL. PART ONE OF THE BLOODLINES HERE, AND FAMILY LINES PART TWO AND ONE HERE. SCREAM 6 SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT.
A beer was in (y/n)’s hands as she danced with Chad in the middle of the frat party, with the latter being dressed up as a cowboy and an angel, the two syncing to the beat of the music that was blaring in a section of the house.
As Tara arrived, a small smile formed on (y/n)’s lips as he watched Chad’s eyes follow her, unable to remove them, as they were stuck like glue.
“You should go get ‘em, partner.” She joked as Chad rolled his eyes and smiled.
“What? I’m serious! You two have been making eyes at each other all semester. When are you finally gonna make a move?”
“I should say the same for you and Ethan,” He retorted, as (y/n) choked on her beer, “He’s been eyeing you up like a whole snack. Should get him out of that shell.”
She gave Chad the finger as she glanced at Ethan, who gave her a small wave, “I’ll go talk to Ethan when you finally work up the courage to talk to little miss independent over there.”
“Fuck you.”
“You are welcome.” She laughed, before slapping her hand on his back, “I’m gonna get more beer. Be right back.”
Anika and Mindy were relaxing on a couch, beers in both hands, with Anika asking how it doesn’t bother Mindy that people dress up as Ghostface, who had attacked her and her friends a year prior.
“Being at a house party, after you and your friends almost got brutally murdered at a house party?”
“No,” Mindy readjusted herself in the couch seat, “I see it as being struck by lightning; the odds of it happening twice to the same person are extremely low.”
“Hm,” Anika hummed, “Guess I should stay close to you, then.” She said while putting her legs over Mindy’s.
On the other side, Tara stumbled over herself as she made her way to the keg, looking for more to drink she ran into Frankie, to who she introduced herself.
Frankie mentioned how there might be more beers in the kitchen, as the two went there together, to also find out that there was also no beer in the fridge, so, in the end, Frankie mentioned that there was a bottle of Fireball up in his room, and the two made their way together.
Anika saw the pair and didn’t like this idea, Tara reassured her she was fine and continued on her way before Frankie had the smart idea to drag Tara up the stairs, which didn’t sit well with Anika and Mindy, who decided to call her brother over.
Chad was over on the other side, with Ethan, attempting to hype him up as he was dressed in a handmade ‘knight in shining armor’ costume.
“Alright, alright, alright.” Chad paused, as he raised a shot glass, “Cheers to the dynamic duo; four-tenths tower, third floor, room three-one-five!” He exclaimed, before clinking his plastic shot glass with Ethan’s, who ended up spitting out his shot back into the cup.
“You gotta start making moves, man,” Chad said as he saw (y/n) beaming a big smile at the stranger she was partying with before glancing at the duo and giving a thumbs up.
“I’ve seen that look you give (y/n), Landry.” He chuckled, as his roommate seemed a bit flustered at the mention of her, “You’re not fooling anyone.”
A big smile was on Ethan’s face as he rolled his eyes, “What if she doesn’t like me back?”
“Dude.” Chad placed an arm on his friend’s shoulder, “Who wouldn’t like you, man?” He said, adjusting his costume, “You are a snack; practically an entire meal on your own!”
“Really?”
“Yeah! You’re Ethan Landry!”
A big grin was on Chad’s face as he called (y/n) over, “Hey, (y/n)!” Who turned around to look at the duo, for Chad to make a ‘come here’ motion as she smiled and rolled her eyes.
“What’s up, Meeks?”
Chad cleared his throat before placing an arm on Ethan’s shoulder, “I need you to vouch for my man Ethan here. This gentleman of a guy couldn’t keep his eyes off of you all night, and I would love to know your opinion of him.”
(y/n) rolled her eyes and smiled, “You really like playing matchmaker tonight, Chad.” She paused, picking up a nearby beer and taking a swig out of it, “He’s cute.” She sent a smile at Ethan before placing a hand on Chad’s shoulder, whispering an ‘I hate you’ to him before walking off.
“See?”
It was only a matter of seconds before Chad was called by his sister, and the rest of the events of the night unfolded, with Sam making an unwanted appearance by Tara, and the group leaving the party subsequently afterward.
── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──
(y/n) sat beside Tara on the couch as they and the rest of the gang were gathered around the television, watching the nightly news reporting on the identities of the two bodies found at a nearby apartment.
The bodies were identified as Jason Carvey and Greg Bruckner, who were two Blackmore students, with Jason being in a class with Tara, which the original Woodsboro survivors classified as technically hitting close to home.
As the sisters argued, Sam’s phone started ringing, to which everyone stopped what they were doing, and stared at the phone in anxious silence.
“Why did everyone just freak out when the phone rang?” Ethan had asked, unaware of the Carpenter and Meeks-Martin siblings’ past.
“You gotta keep up, man,” Anika noted before Quinn handed her phone over to Sam, saying that her dad wanted to talk to her; her I.D. was found at the scene of the crime, which meant she had to visit the Detective at the station.
As Sam made her way to the station, Tara followed her sister out of the apartment complex, which Sam was against. Tara proved a strong argument against her sister’s statement, so they continued to the station together.
As the sisters were walking to the station, they had gotten a call from Ghostface, who mentioned that they were going to pay for what they had done, and to watch their backs, in which Tara was subsequently attacked from behind by the masked killer himself.
The two were able to get away, but not without Ghostface following them into a bodega, where he attacked two guys in line, and shot the bodega owner with his own shotgun.
Meanwhile, the sisters were crawling on their hands and knees on the far end of the bodega by the freezers, trying not to make a sound, and when they did, Sam had pushed a shelf over, knocking Ghostface down, abling the sisters to make a run for it as the cops showed up.
── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──
The following day, Mindy had gathered the gang, including Sam, to the courtyard of Blackmore, as she laid down and aired out the suspect list, going on about rules and regulations, as well as sequels and requels.
“Okay, nerds!” She clapped to get their attention, “As terrifying as this is, I’m glad I get a chance to redeem myself for not calling the killers last time.”
“The way I see it is that someone is out there to make a sequel, to the requel.”
Anika was confused, as she asked, “What’s a requel?”
“Anika,” Mindy paused, “You’re beautiful sweetie; let’s hold all questions until the end.”
Sam noted that Stab one took place in Woodsboro and that Stab two took place in college, to which Tara added that someone is trying to copy the movies.
“That is a possibility; heroes now in college, check, suspicious new characters to round out the suspect list,” Mindy said as she pointed to Ethan, “And or body count,” As she nodded to Anika.
Mindy goes on about how the group is not just in a sequel, but rather a franchise, and that there are certain rules to a franchise.
She notes that the budgets and everything are bigger, and everything expected from the last film will not be reused in this current ‘requel’ and that no one is safe, which meant that even main and legacy characters could and would be killed off.
Ethan then questions everything; even the main characters, if he was part of the main friend group, and if he was going to die a virgin.
Mindy notes how that was a weird overshare, and continues to her suspect list.
“Ethan; the shy, dorky guy who no one suspects because he’s so shy and dorky.”
Ethan asks why he’s on the suspect list, about whether or not it was based randomly because he was Chad’s roommate, to which Mindy rebuttals that the roommate lottery can be juked.
“Quinn; the slutty roommate,” She pauses, to give a chef’s kiss, “A horror movie classic.”
“Sex positive. But, thank you?”
She asks Quinn how she got to be Tara and Sam’s roommate, to which she responded about an anonymous ad, which Mindy stopped her as she implicated herself enough.
“Now, to my dear roommate, (y/n). You have been as clean as a germophobe, but there’s no human without flaws. What are your intentions for this friend group and Blackmore in general?”
(y/n) leaned back in her seat on the bench, and shrugged, “We’re both movie buffs, Mindy. I enrolled in Blackmore after hearing about their film programs, and they roomed me with you because we have similar majors. The rest was on you.”
“A solid truth, but I guess we’ll find out in act three, huh?”
“Guess we will.”
Mindy finally turned to Anika, in which she mentioned the most major rules in a horror franchise; never trust the love interest.
── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──
(y/n) was on her way to Tara and Sam’s shared apartment, leaving her dorm hall as Mindy was already over with the Carpenter sisters.
She was on the top floor, and when it got to the floor below, Ethan walked into the elevator, to which (y/n) played it off for the cameras with a confused smile and arched brow.
“What are you doing here, Landry?”
As soon as the door closed, Ethan instantly pushed (y/n) up against the elevator wall and kissed her passionately, to which she pushed him away subsequently after.
“Ethan,” She whispered as she scolded him, “What the hell are you doing? Do you want to get caught?”
“You don’t know how long I’ve waited to do that.” He admitted, getting close to her again, “Six months.” He mumbled, “Six months I’ve waited to do anything to you. Six months of staring at you from afar, having Chad beg me to make a move. Six months of playing it off seeing you with other guys.”
Ethan attempted to run a hand through his hair, with his fingers getting stuck in his own curls, “Fuck,” He muttered, “I can’t even see you in that pretty ring I got you.”
“Don’t worry.” She gave him a quick kiss before retreating to the other side of the elevator.
“It should be over soon.”

notes: THIS IS A PREQUAL TO FAMILY TIES, IF YOU HAVE NOT READ IT, HERE IS PART TWO AND ONE. SPOILERS PRESENT FOR SCREAM 6 UNDER THE CUT
The two of them were laying on the couch, doing reruns of classic horror movies, with the current movie playing Beetlejuice.
"I don't get why they just move," Ethan muttered, wrapping an arm around her, "I mean, if some pervert with ugly green hair showed up in my house, I'd be the fuck out of there."
She started to laugh, "It's not that simple, Ethan." Sitting up, (y/n)'s eyes lined up with her boyfriend's, before going on about the reason why Beetlejuice was in their house, to begin with. "Besides," She smiled, "I think that green hair is sexy."
Ethan nearly choked on his own spit, before attempting to clear his throat as he sat up. "No way," His eyes widened in awe, "Please tell me you don't mean that because I am not dying my hair green."
"Aw," She pouted, before breaking into a fit of giggles, "Why not? It'll make your curls stand out."
"Hell. No."
"What are you two lovebirds arguing about now?" A voice had asked, coming over to the living room to talk to the pair, sitting down on a chair across from them.
"Richie," (y/n) paused, "Please tell your brother he'd look good with green hair."
Richie chuckled, "He would," He paused, "But that's not the point." Richie reached into his pocket and pulled out a magazine cut-out of a dark blue formal suit, "Would you really want Ethan to show up at his own wedding with neon green hair?"
(y/n) sat and thought for a moment before groaning, knowing that Richie had a fair point.
"I hate how you're right."
"You're the one marrying him, (y/n)."
── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──
6 MONTHS LATER
Her head rested on his chest, the two of them laying in his bed together after a long night of proving their love to each other.
"I love you, Ethan." She muttered in response to his similar statement.
Not long after, Ethan's phone started ringing, and he groaned, wrapping an arm around (y/n) as he leaned over to his nightstand to pick it up and answer it.
"Hello?" He muttered, not knowing who called him, as he just picked it up without checking.
"Ethan?"
"Dad?" He pushed himself upwards, with (y/n) sitting beside him. "What's up? I got you on speaker, (y/n)'s with."
"Good. She should hear this." Ethan's dad voice sounded on edge, as if he was about to break down into tears.
"Dad. You're worrying us, what's going on?" Ethan glanced at (y/n) with a worried look on his face, her reaction returning the favor.
"It's Richie and Amber." He paused, taking a breath in, "They're dead."
Both Ethan and (y/n)'s eyes widened, as they heard the deaths of both of their siblings; of course, they knew that they would carry out the Ghostface killings and make it into a requel, but they didn't know they would end up dead.
(y/n) and Ethan both tightened their grip on each other, the news hitting them hard, "What?"
"It was that vixen, Samantha Carpenter. She killed Richie, and her sister, Tara, killed Amber."
(y/n) shifted in where she sat beside Ethan, "Does Quinn know?"
"I called her already, she knows." Ethan's dad sighed, "It was brutal, both of their deaths. You guys are going to have to call off the wedding for now."
But it wasn't the wedding that both (y/n) and Ethan cared about now, they just lost their siblings to a pair of sisters, and right now, they were going to grieve.
"Okay," Ethan muttered, the grip on his phone tightening, "Thanks for letting us know."
Soon after Ethan hung up, (y/n) let out all of the sobs she was keeping inside out, the tears running down her face rapidly as her breaths were shaky and inconsistent.
"Ethan," She cried, burying her head into his chest, "She's gone. She's really gone."
"I know..." He sighed, running his hand through her hair as he held her close, the thoughts of him losing his brother, one he idolized, consuming his thoughts, even the dark corners.
As (y/n) continued to cry into Ethan's chest, he stared blankly at his closet door while tears formed in his eyes, a dark glare overlapping them.
He wanted them back.
He wanted his brother back.
And he was going to find a plan.
── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──
3 MONTHS LATER
(y/n) had found herself sitting in Richie's room, which had been untouched since the day he left to go to Woodsboro with Sam, scrolling through the text messages she had sent to her sister.
She also had found herself looking through pictures of her and Amber; the times when they had horror movie marathons, the pictures they had taken in their old house before moving, and the dark red dress she had tried on in a test run for bridesmaid dresses.
(y/n) had kept a picture of her sister's senior picture in her wallet, knowing that she would've gone somewhere had she not been killed by Tara and her sister, Sam.
She didn't even realize that she was crying until the tears started falling onto the wallet, a hand flying to her mouth instantly as she tried to keep herself quiet, not wanting Quinn or Ethan to walk in on her pity party.
"Ooooh, who's Ethan?" Amber teased as she grabbed her sister's phone out of her hand, asking the most random of questions.
"Amber." She had warned, attempting to snatch her phone back as she chased her sister around the house.
"So, have you two had sex yet?"
"Amber!" Her sister yelled as she grabbed the phone back, with Amber laughing in the background.
"Sorry about my sister, Ethan. She likes to invade my love life sometimes." (y/n) sighed, smiling as she sat atop a kitchen counter.
"She sounds interesting." Ethan chuckled over the phone before his brother walked into his room and threw a shirt at him.
"Hey, loverboy, stop obsessing over your girlfriend for five minutes and help me with my movie."
Ethan groaned and got up, "Okay, okay. I'll be there in like five minutes."
"Was that Richie?"
"Yeah. I have to go, gotta help him with his movie. I love you."
(y/n) didn't have time to respond before Amber snatched her phone again and made obnoxious kissing noises before hanging up.
"Amber Freeman!"
She was so caught in her own thoughts, that (y/n) didn't realize Ethan walked into the room and noticed her shaking and crying while clutching a picture of her sister in her wallet.
A frown was evident on his face as he knew the exact same pain she was going through, and he hated seeing her sad. While the loss dug deep into the skin, he needed to be strong for her and his brother. He wouldn't have wanted him to spend hours crying over his death. He would've wanted them to carry out the wedding without him.
"Ethan," She choked on her own tears as she looked up at him, with a sad and shocked look on her face, attempting to wipe the tears away, despite them continuing to fall.
"I can't take this anymore." She shook her head, still trying to wipe the tears away as Ethan sat beside her and held her close, "I can't take it anymore."
"It's going to be alright." He tried to comfort her before she cut him off, in a sad, desperate rage.
"No! I can't take it anymore! I can't stand the fact that Sam and Tara get to live as good girls while Richie and Amber are painted as villains!" She took a deep breath in before continuing her rant, "That they get to live normal lives while we're grieving!"
"That doesn't sound fair, doesn't it?" Another voice had spoken, causing the two of them to look up and see Ethan's dad.
"I want Sam and Tara dead." (y/n) muttered bitterly in between tears, wiping them away as she talked.
"I think I have a plan."
