Second News Article:

b. What are the key elements in these stories that make them effective examples?
1.Since most of the people here in the Philippines know about how devastating Mt. Pinatubo can be, the headline of this article will surely catch a lot of attention. Strong sulfuric smell and fresh ashfall were reported near the Pinatubo recently and it has put people on high alert especially the ones that live near the volcano. This article gives people assurance that they are not in danger.
2. Articles like these will remain relevant and of public interest as long as this pandemic is ongoing. I have also heard of this new Omicron variant so the title of this article gives people some assurance. People that aren’t aware of this new variant can also learn about it by reading this article. This article is also very effective because the Omicron variant was only discovered recently and we don’t have too much information about it yet.
3. This article informs us about travelers requiring to take a covid test due to the new variant. It warns us about the possible spike in cases incoming. The title catches people’s attention since we’re all worried about this new variant.

Journalistic Expectations (18)
Part 1:
1.
· After Delta surge, Philippines now low risk for COVID-19 – DOH
· https://www.rappler.com/nation/philippines-covid-19-risk-status-october-25-2021/
Tumblr media
· The article was short yet very informative. It was also very organized. The article is relevant at the time because everyone's safety can be determined by the article. They took their information from the health undersecretary of DOH which is trustworthy as far as we know.
2.
· George Floyd's death was 'murder' and the accused officer 'knew what he was doing,' Minneapolis police chief says
· https://edition.cnn.com/2020/06/24/us/minneapolis-police-chief-comment-george-floyd-trnd/index.html
Tumblr media
· The article showed people that police brutality is a real issue, thus it has public interest. The article stated their source of information but they could have interviewed more people and not just the chief officer. The article did not place any personal biases. They simply took the information they got and organized it which met journalistic expectations.
3.
· Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte Will Run for Senate After All
· https://thediplomat.com/2021/11/philippine-president-rodrigo-duterte-will-run-for-senate-after-all/
Tumblr media
A· I felt like the article was too focused on just the negative opinions and facts about Rodrigo Duterte. They were just focusing on one side of the coin and not on the other side which are the positive opinions about Rodrigo Duterte's candidacy. I am personally not a fan of Rodrigo Duterte but the article was too biased, in my opinion. The article has public interest and is informative; they showed that Rodrigo Duterte can't even hold on to his words.

Journalistic Expectations (30)
https://www.who.int/news/item/28-11-2021-update-on-omicron
Update on omicron
Severity of disease: It is not yet clear whether infection with Omicron causes more severe disease compared to infections with other variants, including Delta. Data suggests that there are increasing rates of hospitalization in South Africa, but this may be due to increasing overall numbers of people becoming infected, rather than a result of specific infection with Omicron. More information on this will become available in the coming days and weeks.
The first story is truthfulness . I thinkit’s truthfulness because they did not gove as a proof specimen loke how omicron virus was detected when finding it in lab . I also felt like all Covid variants are human made .
https://edition.cnn.com/2021/08/16/china/kris-wu-arrested-rape-intl-hnk/index.html
Chinese-Canadian pop star Kris Wu has been arrested in China on suspicion of rape.
The woman, a student at the Communication University of China in Beijing, said she was 17 at the time of the alleged assault. Before he was detained, Wu had denied the allegations on his personal Weib0 account.
The second story is independence . I think it’s independence because all the victims that are harassing Kris wu did not show us enough evidence and the police department is pretty fast in detaining him with in a span of just a few days . Mosy kpop scandals now a days are not real like the ex member of Stray kids Woojin was threatened by people who’s saying that he harassed them without any assingned proof making him loose a lot of his fans . When the truth come out everyone have regretted in what they have done .
https://www.rappler.com/nation/updates-limited-face-to-face-classes-start-philippines-november-2021/
Limited face to face to face classes start in the Philippines
Twenty private schools will start face-to-face classes beginning November 22, the DepEd said.
President Rodrigo Duterte has given the go signal to allow more schools to join the pilot run.
The third story is independence as well . I think it’s independence as well because not everyone like online classes as much as I do especially the poorer once . For example , I prefer onlime classes more than physical mainly because convenience and I hbe more time to do other stuff while people who are in poor settings have a harder time with the internet connectivity and communicating with their teachers we have to accept their situation as well and adjust it .
These stories gave us many information that are misleading like lack of evidence in accusing a certain person . Freedom that we want to choose as well . Is it better for everyone to have that kind of freedom

Journalistic Expectations (02)
Activity 1:
First news article:
Title: Did Michael Yeadon Say COVID-19 Vaccine Will Kill Recipients Within 2 Years?
Name of website: Snopes.com
Did Michael Yeadon Say COVID-19 Vaccine Will Kill Recipients Within 2 Years? | Snopes.com
a.) Journalistic Expectations met:
-truthfulness
-public interest
-accountability
b.) This media was able to clear the rumors that Pfizer causes death and mass depopulation. I would say that it met the truthfulness because I was able to research about the Pfizer vaccine and they all stated it was safe. The public interest was also met because around this time people are still doubting or deciding whether to get vaccines. So, I think this information was able to help and make people more knowledgeable about fake news.
c.) I would only suggest that the purpose of the information should be on the effectiveness of vaccines rather than on the information of the person who spreads fake news.
Second news article:
Title: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex to step down as senior royals
Name of website: Harper’s bazaar
Duke & Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, and Harry, to step down as senior royals (harpersbazaar.com)
a.) Journalistic Expectations met:
-proportional and relevant news
-balancing private and right to know
b.) The reason why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wish to be financially independent and live a tranquil life has been revealed by the media. Proportional and relevant news was seen in in this article because we ordinary people are usually interested in the lives of famous people such as celebrities, politicians, royal families, etc. Balancing private and right to know was also seen in this article because the media did not become too open in a way that their lives would be harmed.
Third news article:
Title: President Donald Trump impeached
Name of website: History
President Donald Trump impeached - HISTORY
a.) Journalistic Expectations met:
-organizing knowledge
-public interest
b.) I would say this media is true because I made my research and other articles also same the same thing. This article met the organizing knowledge because they wrote about the two reasons why Donald Trump was impeached. It also attracted public attention since citizens should be aware of current government events.

Journalistic Expectations (25)
Part 1
1) First coronavirus case in the Philippines
https://cnnphilippines.com/news/2020/1/30/Philippines-coronavirus-case.html a. I think the articles has met all of the journalistic expectations. It’s very well-organized, and it’s very easy to get the information we want. It tells us all the information we need and keeps us up to date on the pandemic.
b. I think the key element of this article is its independence. It got quotes from so many people. Because of that, we are more informed and knowledgeable of the situation, and in turn, we can educate other people too.
c. This article is already very well-made. I wouldn’t change anything about it. The writer really did an excellent job.
2) George Floyd’s Death https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/31/us/george-floyd-investigation.html a. I think the article has met most of the journalistic expectations. I think they could’ve showed a little more independent thinking. I would really like to hear what the officers or at least the police department think about this whole incident.
b. I think this article has done a very good job at staying truthful. The journalist has done his own investigations by looking through a bunch of camera footage just to see if things said by the attorneys were true. I think that is what not only journalists but also what all of us should do when we hear such tragic moments like this.
c. As I said, I would really appreciate it if it showed what the police think of whole shebang. If they did try to get in touch but didn’t get a response, I would like to at least know that they tried and not feel like they are just being one-sided.  The police's perspectives could shed a new light on what was going on in that moment.
3) Duterte’s comments on Marcos
https://www.rappler.com/nation/elections/duterte-claims-presidential-bet-into-cocaine-weak-leader/
a. I think the articles has met all of the journalistic expectations. It is very well written and shows Duterte’s opinion on the topic very well. They even have a feature where they let people know how others feel after reading the article which I think is a nice touch.
b. I think the key element of this article is the way it displays information. It puts them very neatly together and presents them so the reader can understand very easily. Another key point of this is its independence. It shows the writer is committed to looking at everyone’s opinion. They even said in the article that they tried to contact Marcos and said that they will update it once they respond.
c. I wouldn’t change anything in the article. As said before, it has met all of the expectations. It is already fine the way that it is.

Traditional vs New 14
Tumblr media
Media has too much influence on everyone, and everyone uses it in everyday life. It has made our lives easier and more convenient. By just turning on the phone we can do many things. By opening a news provider app, we can see and know information about what is happening in the world or even in the country. Opening a music app when in the mood to listen to music to relax any time of the day. Opening apps like TikTok to watch some funny videos, interesting videos, or some challenge videos to entertain, relax, or escape from reality for a moment while scrolling through the videos. Opening an app like YouTube to learn how to sing a song, to learn how to dance the steps of the latest dance video of a favorite idol or celebrity. Opening YouTube or a cooking app to learn how to cook a dish, to learn how to make a dessert that we may share with the family, a friend, or maybe shared with needy people. Opening browser apps like Google, Baidu, chrome, and other more browsing apps to research the materials that will be needed for school, for work, or for other research purposes. Opening an e-book app to read a book that you have been wanting to read for a long time. You don’t need to go to a bookstore or spend money to buy a book. Opening a gaming app such as the Chinese version of PUBG my most favorite mobile gaming app that I enjoy playing with my friends. It helps me to communicate and has time for me to relax with my friends in the game.
Before the media was not developed, I still remember my parents often tell me how they used to live before. They used to play outside, basking in the sun and playing with their childhood friends and neighbors. They will also grow some fruits and grow vegetables on their little farm at the back of the house. When the vegetables and fruits are ready to harvest, they will harvest them and consume them. They also had farm animals there, they would herd sheep on the mountain, feed the pigs, and feed chickens. As for how my parents described their experience before; I think life before is carefree and comfortable.
After media was made, everyone is inside now. People now prefer to stay indoors rather than going outside to play and feel nature. Everyone holds a mobile phone every day, and cannot do without it. They use their mobile phone too much that it affects some of their eating habits, sleeping habits, and even their mental health. The influence of the media is quite huge. It affects many people, whether they are adults or children. But it is the children who have the greatest impact on them. Nowadays, children or young people haven’t experienced the time when adults were playing outside before. Nowadays, young people use mobile phones, computers, or other kinds of gadgets to watch videos, to communicate with friends, to play together, to share videos and photos of life, and to learn knowledge.

Traditional vs New (02)
Tumblr media
Media is the main means of mass communication. The information you're actually sharing is also referred to as media. Broadcasting, printing, and the internet are the primary forms of mass communication when viewed as a whole.
In my opinion, media has changed a significant impact on our lives. First, due to technological advancements, communication is not a problem anymore. Even though we are separated from our families and friends, we can still connect with them. Because of our usage of social media, we have gotten closer. We can stay in touch with individuals and the rest of the world. Second, we may conduct research on any topic that interests us or that we wish to learn more about. With all these information, we can be wiser or more likely to get educated. Third, we all need to be aware of what is going on around us. Whether there are impending disasters like typhoons or cultural conventions. People can receive the most recent information in a very short period of time. Fourth, it can also be used as a good source of entertainment. We normally turn to media, when we wanted to unwind or take a break from our job since it serves as a stress reliever. Lastly, it aids individuals all around the world in understanding and accepting one another's differences. Even though we all have different ideas or viewpoints, we may always choose to respect one another. Choosing to respect or apologize to others has no negative impact on our lives. We must remember that we are all equal and that no one deserves to be treated badly.
Technology has made our lives easier and more efficient, but there is always a downside. We should not put our trust in everything we see on the internet since we all know that not everything, we find on the internet is true. First, the spreading of fake news is one of the common disadvantages of internet. We should not share any information we are unsure about. Believing in false news might cause harm or inconvenience to other people. Second, we should be aware of cyberbullying and hacking. We should always be aware and make every effort to prevent it. We should always think before we act or click something. We should not share personal information with others since it is risky. Third, we become overdependent or addicted on media, which leads to individuality. People spend too much time on the internet or staying at home watching television. As a result, there is a significant absence of engagement or interaction with other people. Spending too much time in front of our devices might be harmful to our health. Not only due to a lack of activity or exercise, but also due to light radiation.
I learned we should constantly learn to be grateful and appreciative for everything we have. We are fortunate to have been born during a period where everything has been simplified and made easier for us to live. All we have to do is practice everything in moderation and set aside time for all of our activities and interests. Never take whatever we have for granted since there is always a consequence.

Traditional vs New (25)
Tumblr media
I think we can all agree that that media has changed a lot. Communication has been made a lot more efficient and effective. Learning new things has been made so much easier. With all these things being improved every day, there are a lot of advantages we have now in our daily lives, but there are also some disadvantages. You no longer need to write a handwritten letter to your friend or to even meet them in person to chat with them, but since the anonymity the Internet can provide, you can’t always be sure if the person you are talking to is saying who they really are. Even then, it isn't easy to know what the person is feeling just through text. It’s easy to learn new things, but there can be misinformation everywhere. The innovation of media comes with good and bad consequences.
One of the benefits of new media is its convenience. Since it’s so easy to meet new people on the Internet, it’s easy to find people who will have the same interests as you, and that in result can make people feel like they belong somewhere by being in a community. When I was younger, I was really into Roblox. I didn’t really have a game that I really play that often because I would find it boring very quickly, but Roblox was something that I really liked. Unfortunately, I never heard anyone talk about it in school, so I wasn’t really able to share my liking to it with anyone. I find it very hard actually to try to get along with my classmates just because of how different our interests were. They liked FPS’s while I liked Pokémon and rhythm games. They have their favourite celebrities while I couldn’t even name one BTS member. It just was really difficult for me to have a conversation with them because I just couldn’t relate to them at all. Even then, the people who do have my interests already have their own social group and have vastly different personalities than me, so it would still be hard for us to get along. And because of that, I was on my own most of the time. When I found out about Discord, I finally found people who I can at least talk to, so I end up getting much closer to them than my real-life friends, and I actually felt like I have a place somewhere.
One of the flaws of new media is people getting too addicted though I think the addiction that’s been said you can get from using the Internet is a bit too exaggerated. I know there are cases where the addiction can really be extreme like the cases that were mentioned in “Lo and Behold”, but to think that everyone who uses the Internet a lot will get these extreme kinds of addiction is ridiculous. We use the Internet for everything, and one of those things is for entertainment. Consuming entertainment can be a source of leisure which is something everyone needs for good mental health. Of course, you will have to know when to have breaks which I think most people do anyway. All the people I met online will be offline for at least 2 hours, sometimes even 6 hours, during the day because they are spending time outside or just doing something that’s off the screen. Of course, gaming and lounging can be taken too far, but anything can be taken too far.
Based on what we learned, I think new media is just way better than traditional media. With all this new technology making our lives so much easier, it would be foolish not to use it. Though since there are so many people using this technology, we should be very careful of whatever information we put out or whatever thing we click because it can easily be manipulated towards someone’s favour. Whatever goes on the Internet stays on the Internet.

Media and Information Literacy (18)
My favorite type of media is books especially non-fiction ones. Reading books is the best way, in my opinion, to learn something new. I spend around one to two hours a day on reading and I have been reading for as long as I can remember but I only took it seriously recently (for about a year). I do not spend that much time on books but it is my favorite because I learn so much from them.
Media is very beneficial to people; it makes our lives so much easier and so much more efficient. The bad thing about media and information is that people rely on it too much; whenever they look something up, they do not even try to remember what they read because they think that what they read will be always there whenever if ever they need it again hence their knowledge will not improve as much as it could. The other issue I see is privacy. Everything you do in the internet is and will be recorded but I suppose this issue only arises because people do not read the terms and conditions of a software before using it.
Media is basically everything from newspapers all the way to social media. I personally think that social media is the most powerful form of media. Social media gives people freedom to speak; it gives you a place where you can share your thoughts and opinions. Social media is filled with various opinions, beliefs, and points of view. There is also a lot of fake news on social media and the worst part of it is that people rarely evaluate the things they read or see; they just believe in whatever they read even if the source is unreliable. The other issue I see is that some people are just toxic when they are on social media, some people might argue that manners are meaningless when it is forced upon but being toxic could really harm another person’s mental health if that person is sensitive. Philippines has various forms of media such as newspapers, books, magazines, and the internet. Looking at what media Philippines has seems good enough in on its own at first glance. But if you compare the media between the Philippines and the U.S., the difference you will see is huge. The difference is to be expected since the Philippines is a Third-World country after all; it is basically the tantamount to the battle between David and Goliath except the battle is much more realistic.
Media and information literacy is best learned at an early age (as early as possible) especially with our world where technology is continuously advancing and everything is becoming dependent on technology so it is only right to know everything we can about the thing we are depending on. Media literacy is necessary because it teaches you the skills necessary to be able to use media at its full potential. All I wish to learn in media and information literacy is how to properly evaluate information, a visualization on how much media has evolved, and how to research more efficiently.

Media and Information Literacy 14
My favorite media is the app called WeChat. The app that is known popularly used by Chinese people. I didn't use WeChat often before, but now it is very convenient for me to work, study, communicate, and to share little things using WeChat. Now that WeChat is updated more and more conveniently, I can pay, buy things, buy phone bills, book hotels, book a flight, and many other more. I usually spend three or more hours in WeChat each day. I open the app when I get up to see if there are some important messages from my friends or relatives. I do not know if how long have I had been using it but I guess I have been using it for more than five years now. The media that I am more familiar are WeChat, Douyin. WeChat is not just an excellent communication and social app; it is also an app that for me it seems like something is missing if I have not used the app. When using WeChat, I can text, voice message, voice call, video call, use emoticons and other various ways to keep in touch with my friends and love ones. Douyin is the Chinese version of TikTok. Douyin is an app where everyone can shoot their own creative videos. By just following the rhythm of the music, you can shoot variety of different video contents and many other creative videos. Douyin is not just for young people it is for everyone. I myself use Douyin every day to scroll or to watch interesting videos. For me Douyin is more powerful than WeChat. Douyin allows everyone to see the larger world, encourage expression, communication, recording, and many others more.
Media has impacted our lives, it is like we need food, water, sunlight, and shelter to survive. Without some media it is like we cannot survive. The advantages of media are that we can learn lots of new knowledge and also to see things that we do not know and to learn from them. The disadvantages of media are that everyone using their phone while eating. There are too many adds that attract people to buy more and more things. It also affects the mental health in some instances. Newspapers let us know about changes or things that have happened in the society. Like positive and negative things that happens. Social media is where people interact. They share ideas, give or exchange information, get information, and create ideas. The Philippine has medias like, national private TV and radio networks, multi-channel satellite and cable TV system. These are what U.S media does not have. Although the U.S media ranks higher more than the Philippines media, the Philippines media has more types of broadcast media than the U.S media. (Information from: https://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/compare/Philippines/United-States/Media )
Media and information literacy is necessary because it helps us to have an access to social world. To interact, talk, express feelings, and share life fragments with friends or to the people online. It gives us knowledge about the things that we want to learn or have not learn. It gives us freedom to express ourselves, either it is a positive or negative feeling we can share those feelings. It also helps us have the freedom to communicate freely in media instead of just communicating verbally. I expect to learn and understand more about media and information literacy. Maybe have some fun facts about the lesson.

Media and Information Literacy(23)
My favorite type of media is social media and my most used social media is Discord. I’ve been using it for 5 or more years now. I use Discord to mainly call my friends and chat with my online friends. I like how convenient and easy to use Discord is. I also like how organized it is and it has features that is only exclusive to Discord. On weekdays I would normally spend around 3 to 4 hours in a call with my friends. On weekends, I would spend around my whole day calling my friends while playing video games such as League of Legends and Minecraft.
The different types of media that I know of are social media, news media, web media and print media. Social media is usually a digital tool that allows users to either share or create content. Nowadays, we are relying of this form of media a lot more to the traditional ones due to its convenience and accessibility. Examples of social media are podcasts, online forums and social networks, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, Reddit and Discord. News media is a type of media that is used to deliver news or information to the public. This form of media has been around the longest and it allows us to learn about what’s currently happening inside or outside the country. Without this form of media, people will be clueless about everything. Examples of news media are television, radio and newspaper. Most of us consume media on daily basis, it has its advantages and disadvantages. Most of the forms of media are easily accessible especially social media which only takes a few clicks on our mobile devices. Media is used by people to learn about the latest news, research, entertainment, communication etc. There are also many disadvantages about media. Firstly, security can be a problem. Apps such as Facebook are collecting our personal data without our consent. According to an article from Insider, 533 million Facebook user’s personal data; such as their phone numbers, email address, locations, birthdates and bios, were leaked online in a low-level hacking forum. Incidents like these can cause so much harm to many people across the world because almost anyone can have access to the personal data of millions. Another disadvantage of media is the spread of fake news. We should be mindful on how we use media. The sharing of fake news is always a problem so always remember to always check if the information you’re consuming is reliable and real especially when you plan on sharing it with others.
Without a doubt, the forms of media in the U.S. are far more advanced than the ones we have here. Due to the American economy flourishing, the U.S. has more money to spend on improving their technology. On the other hand, the Philippines’ economy is also starting to grow but at a slower pace. I think that media and information literacy is necessary because it teaches us the dos and don’ts about media. I expect to learn more about the different kinds of media that are accessible and how to use them properly.

Media and Information Literacy (25)
There are a lot of different medias out there but my favourite media is Discord. I’ve been using it for around 3 years. Even though Discord is my favourite media, I only spend around like 4 hours a day on it. That’s because my online friends and I have been finding it hard to find time to use it and sometimes I would rather be doing something else. Though I spend little time on it, it is still my favourite because I get to finally meet people who have the same interest as me without me needing to feel awkward about asking someone their interests and I get to hang out with a lot of nice people. Though being able to meet so many people at once, I of course have met some really unpleasant people. I don’t want to name the specific community I am a part of but all you really have to know is that it is known to be a very toxic community. There’s like almost a guarantee that there will be an argument or some kind of drama happening every day on the Discord server. Even then if there isn’t an argument, there will definitely be a good amount of smack talk happening in the server or in private messages. Even though I’m in a community like this, I’m kind of glad to be a part of this community. For me at least, being in the community taught me a lot of moral lessons I would have never learned and in a way, taught me how to control my emotions a lot more effectively. It really reminded me that we are all human and that we are not perfect even though a lot of people claim to be.
There are plenty kinds of media we use every day. Newspapers and magazines let us know about the recent events that are happening in the world. Television and cable give us entertainment and a way to learn new things. Social media lets us voice our opinions and makes communication so much easier. These are all very useful in our day to day lives and sometimes we might not even notice the impact they have, but they do have some flaws. I think we can all agree that all news should be given without any biases, but with many controversial topics being discussed, there are bound to be some slip ups. Though news channels try their best to stay neutral, there is one news channel that comes to my mind that shows how news can be weaponized. Fox News is a news channel in the United States that is known to have very far-right biases. Because of these biases, some people call it more to be propaganda than a news channel, but since it calls itself a news channel, people might take in these extremist ideas and let it shape how they view the world. For that reason, I think news is the most powerful kind of media. You don’t even need to make a big company like Fox News. You can just spread one piece of false information online and it can spread like wildfire without people giving a thought to double check, and I think that’s very scary. Social media also has some flaws too. The thing that strikes me the most is how easily people can share their opinions. It’s fine to share your opinions. It can relieve some emotions and can help someone make a decision and all that, but what I am talking about is very negative opinions. If you say one thing that people don’t agree with on the internet, people will flame you and attack you just for that opinion. That amount of negativity can be really damaging to someone’s mental health. I have a friend from this community I mentioned earlier and in 2019, they made something that people really didn’t like. People started harassing them and I remember that they said that people were even sending death threats to them just because of that one thing. My friend went from this very social person to this very quiet and private person just because of all of that harassment and I think that’s where sharing your opinions can be shown to be taken too far. Having one negative comment is fine but having so many criticizing you at once can be extremely damaging. Being so negative to the point where you don’t think how other people will feel about that kind of negativity.
With all of these flaws I mentioned, it just makes media and information literacy more important to learn. There is a lot of misinformation spreading around on the internet and people really don’t hold back when they really think you’re wrong, so it’s really important to know how to react to these situations and know what to learn from them. I expect to learn from this class more about what to look out for and more about how to deal with toxic behaviour from other people.

Media and Information Literacy (30)
My favorite media is social media ( youtube facebook , instagram and many more,) . It’s impact and importance in my daily life is that every information that I need to find is already on social media . It helps my daily life easier especially for school works that need tons of research . Convenient is also an impact for social media I spent about 12 hours a day I have been interacting or using it for 10 years now For sneaker reselling finding profitable pairs to flip / sell . For studying , research all the documents needed The kinds of media I know is social media , ( youtube , instagram , facebook , google ) , television , newspaper , Social media is the most powerful because all of the information I’m finding is there like almost everything For example I need to check the dollarto php conversion rate I can find it very easily on google just by searching it Just search it it will come out immediately by itself no hustle .
Media makes our lives easier and more efficient . The advantages for media is that we can find all information and sources faster like when the teacher asked us to research about something we can find it really fast with in a few minutes The disadvantages are if you spend too much screentime on the internet media you might destroy your eyesight . People must know how to control themselves when typing something because every word they will type represents their attitude sometimes it might result to cyber bullying . When making news reports do not spread false reports especially the information that is really not true like terrorizing other people , making fun of them , scandals on celebrities . The various medias in our country are social media for the top 1 , television , newspaper , magazines , telephone , and more .Television is used for wathcing news and movies . Well most people still watch live news or movies on tv cables evn though we have the internet . Magazines can give you latest information of new products from a company like Nissan launched a new car , Apple released the iphone 13 .Telephone are used mainly for emergency bases to tell people if there’s an emergency it can deliver information faster like when there’s a fire just call 911 using the telephone and then your call will be reached immediately . I think media in the Philippines and USA are just similar there’s no difference mainly like how we use to call using the telephone they also use it to deliver information quicker .
Internet is accessible everywhere .
Based on what I learned I think that media is necessary because we used it everyday in our daily lives especially social media . I learned that media is wide because a lot of stuff is considered media not just the internet My expectations in this class are trying to learn more stuff about media and how wide is it all about.

Media and Information Literacy (02)
TikTok became one of the most famous apps when the pandemic started. It is currently the most downloaded app on the Apple App Store. It was called musically back then when it is not that popular yet. But now over 800 million users enjoy this app including me. I downloaded this app because my friends shared this to me saying it’s fun and enjoyable. You can watch some interesting content without even realizing you already spend a lot of time because some videos only have 30 seconds to 3 minutes long. Not only you can learn a lot of things but also enjoy, because almost all the things you want to learn is there like cooking, fitness, and inspirational contents. This became my stress reliever when I suddenly feel anxious or depress. It also brings a lot of nostalgic memories because my friends and I used to watch and dance before the pandemic started. When the class has not started yet, I used to spend 8-10 hours daily watching TikTok videos. I used to download this 3 years ago when it was not famous, but I don’t find it as interesting than now maybe because there are more creators now and it has been updated.
We all know that media made our life easier and knowledgeable because of its convenience and its accessibility. There are many other sources of media to get information and knowledge with. The most common types of media are print media, broadcast, and internet. They have different ways for us to learn and know something new. Print media is one of the oldest and basic way of communication. It uses the method of printing newspapers, magazines, billboard, posters, and many others. Broadcast media uses the hearing method of delivering information usually through electronics like televisions and radios. Internet uses the online or digital method like online newspapers, blogs, streaming, and websites. Media has many advantages like spreading information easily and allows us to educate ourselves, build relationships, and communicate easily. However, there are also some disadvantages like spreading fake news, fraud or hacking, some inappropriate contents, etc.
Some countries are more advanced because of their superiority and abundancy like U.S. The technology in U.S. is one of the leading countries when talking about technology. Most of the famous people in the field of technology are from U.S. like Bill Gates. After many years of improving, Philippines is finally adapting in the world of technology. Philippines is currently in the 83rd out of 138 countries in terms of readiness in technology according to the Department of Science and technology.
Studying media literacy is necessary because not only it helps us recognize the different forms of media but also improves about our knowledge about media. I expect to learn more because it teaches us to improve and to become a smart consumer of products and information. It also teaches us to be responsible on what we share and post. Learning media literacy helps us to become successful person.
