Feels good to be an Enji fan today

I don't care what y'all Enji haters say on here but my man Enji is at peace and looks happy. Plus the fact he's still with Rei, Fuyumi, and Hawks is good to my eyes and ears. Plus the fact he and Rei are looking at Dabi...its just peak. And shoutout to my boy Natsuo way in the back. Cut his dad off but still keeping his eye on him and looking glad he's changing. And can we call Hawks Keigo Todoroki from now on? Like he's a honorary son at this point.

I’m still a bit confused 😭 so like we obviously could see Enji getting worse and worse, and it’s clearly stated that he got even worse than he was after Touya “died” but the thing is did Touya “die” before Rei got hospitalised or after he die after? Because on the Viz it seems like he “died” before Rei got hospitalised, but in the official physical release it states Rei heard about Touya “dying” after she was hospitalised and in the anime too! Which if Touya’s “passed” after Rei’s hospitalisation that means he was already awful before Touya’s “death”, but clearly that made him even worse 😭 I’m like so confused on what is the proper timeline!

Thats the thing that confused me too. Can't tell if Rei was hospitalized before or after. I think signs point to Toya burning, that breaking both Rei and Enji to where the latter got worst then that results in Rei snapping and hurting Shoto.

I think one of my favourite things about some of the irrational Enji haters is that they'll scream and shout about how Enji abused/neglect his 4 kids and wife(we know like hush hush 😒) , scream that he doesn't care or feel actual remorse or guilt and doesn't care about his victims feelings BUT honestly, dare I say I feel like that man hates himself more than those fans could ever hate him, and if you can watch his atonement arc and think he doesn't care or feel guilt your tripping! Not going to say you have to like the man, you can hate/dislike him but stop being so outrageously wrong with your hate - cause has Enji stumbled here and there on his atonement arc? sure, but that's because he is human ignore all the flashy fights and the fact he can control fire he is human he is bound to stumble! Nonetheless Enji has expressed his guilt and remorse countless times, he has taken accountability for his actions and how he's hurt his family, and if he didn't care - he wouldn't of made a new house for them to live in without him when Rei got out of hospital, he wouldn't go to the dinners Fuyumi set up, he wouldn't abide to Shouto's wishes, he wouldn't understand and accept Natsuo's choice to go no-contact, he wouldn't of apologised to them all individually and he wouldn't visit Touya like he promised!

The one thing that gets to me is people saying that new house is Enji running from his problems.

Like, wtf? HE IS THE PROBLEM. He's trying to give his family space without him. If that is him running, then should Rei be forced to look at him? He wanted Rei to have more time without being around him and he certainly didnt want to force Shoto to spend time with him. That's not him running, that's thinking about his family instead of himself.

And i absolutely agree about Enji hating himself. These guys always say "if there are no Enji haters alive, I'm dead". Nah dude, if there are no Enji haters alive he's dead. Yall don't match the absolute self-hate this man has.

The fact you took my comment and think I'm taking away Shoto's accomplishments is laughable. Especially when I added context further down the thread anyway. If you think I hate Shoto, I'm sorry but you hang around on the Internet too long. Because no way in hell a rational person thinks that I think everything Shoto did to become his own hero is all Enji's doing. And for your info, I was upset that the episode wasn't Shoto Todoroki: Rising.

This is it. We have reached a new low of Endeavor apologia. They took his wings. They took his tears. They took his rising. And now as a last step, Shouto becoming his own person is also being attributed to Endeavor's heroic atonement.

Can't wait for the newest episode to drop where the villain stans and Enji haters invigorate their hatred for the man over what he did... despite the fact that everything that Enji did in the past has already been stated where he went further down the slippery slope after Toya "died" and nothing said in the episode and the corresponding chapter is new info. Seen it when the chapter released so it's gonna be pathetic when the episode comes out. I can already see the posts like "Endeavor fans, how can y'all like this man?" Idk, how can y'all like Dabi who's killed 30+ lives, went along with the League who plunged Japan into darkness, wants to kill Shoto and didn't care if Natsuo died, and almost caused a 5 km nuke that would've killed everyone at Gunga, the Todorokis, and who knows how many others?

Yo idk if u answer asks or not but I just wanted to let u know that I really enjoyed ur posts about ch 387 and Rei. Seeing the reactions to that chapter really disappointed me because people insisted she was only concerned for Touya although she literally said otherwise. To me it felt like at the very least she does care for Enji. Anyway, I noticed in your post you said that Enji still loves Rei and I found that interesting. I just wanted to ask why you think that and what do u think their relationship was like in the beginning. No hate just curious on your thoughts <3

Hey, first time doing these :D

First, lemme set the record strength. It's OK if you don't like Enji(not saying you anon) nor wanna forgive him but the way Enji haters on here just spew hate about the man and spread misinformation frustrates me. People trying to say his murder-suicide is him still acting as a hero gets me too angry.

He refused to let Dabi die alone but he didn't wanna drag anyone else in their matter. Dabi went after so many people to get at his father, especially with trying to make a 5 km radius fireball. Stopping your son from killing so many people by facing him is being a father. And it's not like he knew the others were coming. He's faced with a growing problem in front of him.

If Enji died, even if it completes his arc, Dabi wins and Enji can't continue to atone. That's why the others stepped in and saved them both. And guess what happened later? Enji used his body as a shield to save his family from the Twice clones. Wanna say that's not him being a father like he should've been?

And as for your actual question anon. Maybe it's not a complete romance but I definitely think he has affection for Rei. Remember, he still remembered Rei's favorite flower even 20 years later despite being told once. His screams at Rei to run away wasn't a hero saying to run, it felt more personal to Enji. He panicked and looked horrified that Rei was there because even her ice wasn't enough to save her from the fire. Sure it might be his guilt talking but I think it's more.

Sure, it was a quirk marriage but I definitely think Enji loved her in some way. Before he went off the deep end, I think Rei was his anchor. Someone to help him but it wasn't enough. Before the whole War started, he wanted to give her space to heal. Even Rei probably loves him given that the flower she got from Enji was a hint that there was some form of love even if the marriage was arranged. She gave him strength even in his worst moment and came through to save him and Toya.

Maybe my answer isn't enough to some but I genuinely think there's some love between them.

Know what really pisses me off? When people try to devolve Rei's character as a mouthpiece for Enji. Trying to say she's easily forgiving Enji when it's clear her feelings are (rightfully) conflicted.

In this scene, she makes it clear that she's still too afraid to face Enji yet has optimism. That flower signifies that Enji doesn't forget that he still has a family that he has a lifetime to make up to, even if he's never forgiven. And the idea that the narrative is trying to make Enji easily forgiven when one of his best moments is him dropping this iconic quote

Next, the scene in the hospital.

She doesn't let Enji drown in self-pity, reminding him that everyone in that family has suffered more than he is right now. But she still knows her husband is actively trying to change and doesn't take the chance to fucking put him down unnecessarily like so many people want her to. Enji needs to get back up and help not just his family but also those in need from the 1st war's aftermath.

People who think she's someone suffering from Stockholm Syndrome are full of shit. This is a strong woman, someone who can see a former hateful person wanting to change and gives them the words they need. Trying to use that chance to be full of vitriol and hate will not break the cycle that the Todorokis are trying to escape from. And finally, the Todoroki reunion. She showed up not just to save Toya but Enji as well. She knows he wants to atone and she makes it clear she's saving them both.

And btw, this shows how much Enji regrets what he did and despite the marriage being arranged, he still loves Rei. He doesn't want to lose her too. But Rei doesn't want him to die either. People think that having faith in your former abuser is akin to forgiveness is just...ignorant. She wants him to live to continue atoning and she still has faith that he has changed and wants to do what's right.

Rei Todoroki has my respect for all this.

Welp, here we go again with the shitty takes on Tumblr. Everyone trying to call out Endeavor for setting Shoto to fight Dabi and AFO called him out. Funny enough, guess what actually happened?

It's clear on both sides that Shoto and Enji are conflicted about this. Enji believes it's his duty to face Dabi which is true but Shoto is right: who on the hero side can face All for One right now? Deku can't fight both him and Shigaraki. Shoto made the tough but right call for Enji to beat AFO. And that right call is what helps the war in the heroes' favor down the line. People need to read more and not let their bias fucking cloud them.

Seeing people both on this site and Twitter getting pissed that Endeavor lived and is fulfilling his promise that he'll watch over Toya got me feeling like

Y'all can stay mad but I'm here for seeing this man continue to atone. Gives me absolute pleasure to see this foul man not take the easy way out and continue what he set out to do: making sure his family are happy and alive And your little headcanons aren't canon, folks. Whether they forgive him or not, everyone in that family wants him to continue living. And I'm fucking here for it.

Once again, Tumblr fandom never ceases to amaze me with the lack of reading comprehension regarding Endeavor. Let’s count the ways

“Endeavor failed at another thing. He’s gonna get people killed because he apparently drew Touya to civilians”

Did people seriously forget that Endeavor was trying to lure Touya away from people so he wouldn’t burn anything? He just learned that Touya was gonna explode in a matter of minutes. Also its like people keep overlooking that Endeavor has this uncanny coincidence to be near the point of exhaustion and passing out when he encounters Touya. He just came out of a battle with AFO that took his arm and part of his torso. He had no way of taking him farther away.

“Endeavor still doesn’t care about Touya”

Man is not throwing hands with his own son, he’s pleading for him to turn off his flames so he doesn’t blow himself and everyone up nearby.

“Touya was the perfect child all along. Endeavor failed again”

Did people miss this? Endeavor knows he didn’t awaken here. He’s about to die and the ice trait manifested like so. Endeavor’s horrified that Touya had ice powers all along but he could only do so by being pushed to near death. That’s pure irony.

“He still hasn’t accepted responsibility for what he’s done”

Fucking perfect. Endeavor, no matter if he fumbled here or there during his arc, knows he fucked up. He never once tries to blame any of his victims for what he did despite people thinking he’s like abusers out there who try to gaslight, deflect, etc. No, fuck you. Man here is accepting that the shit going down is his fault. Idc if you hate him, man here has my respect for accepting that the consequences are hitting him here and he doesn’t turn away. If you still think he’s the same hate-filled man from the Sports Festival I’m sorry but you don’t accept character growth it seems.

“He’s taking the coward’s way out”

My “friend”, did you miss the part where he’s 800m away from the other heros and who knows how far away from nearby cities? He has no method of cooling his son off. Shoto’s not here and he has no way to reach Rei, Fuyumi, or Natsuo who might have a way to cool off Toya. All he knew, he’s effectively alone here about to see his son turn into Hiroshima 2.0. He’s willing to die with his son all while making sure no one gets killed. How is that him being a “coward” and not shouldering responsibility? If he was truly a coward, he’d say fuck everyone and fly away while Touya blows up. This is him being a father right here.

And finally Rei...

Do people seriously think she’s willing to only save one of these 2? The same woman who while still being in the psych ward said that she knows her husband is changing and knows he wants to make amends. The same woman who went to her injured husband and not only told him to stop pitying himself but also gave him the strength to not quit and get back out there to save their son and civilians. Why do people still have this headcanon that she wants her formerly abusive husband to die? She wants Enji and Touya both to live.

I swear, every week on here it's like the takes for Enji just tank and tank so hard its not even funny anymore. Its sad.

I'm no apologist or Stan but as for why I like him. I like watching a man realize he fucked up. I like watching a man climb out from obsession and realize the mistakes he did. And i certainly like watching a man do what he can to repair his family, even if he knows its best to stay out of their lives from now on. I despised S2 Endeavor and I'm rooting for him now. I want him to live and continue supporting his family, even if its distant.

Okay I’ve been rage texting the bestie but. Endeavor stans/apologists what do you see in that man. What do you see? Genuinely. Because I cannot even fathom finding him attractive, much less being an Apologist. Like no matter what angle I look at it there is Nothing redeeming about him

The Dabi stans are out of hand

This fucking fandom, man. What new information about Enji did we already know?

That’s right, we been knew. We already knew Enji beat Shoto. Enji got worse after the accident. The scene we see this chapter is nothing new at all and I’m surprised...no wait, I’m not surprised a certain subset of this fandom has lost their braincells looking at it.

I’m not making excuses for Enji. Hell, I hated him before his arc began. But, I appreciate a character who realizes he fucked up and is working to improve even if he doesn’t fully succeed. That’s a man I can respect.

I swear, if the lot of ya’ll had your way, Enji would’ve been stuck as some 1D character straight out of a bad fanfic, doesn’t reflect on the sins he did, and wouldn’t be able to work to repair his family even if he stays away from them.
