do you know anything about blueberry plants, mine are brown and dying and I do not know why 😭

blueberries can be hard 😭 are they high bush or low bush? where are you located? do you mulch them? we had so much better luck when we started mulching them!

a note my grandmother left me on a bag of yarn when I told her I didn’t have much for yellows left in my stash. I know it’s about yarn, but it feels like a reminder — not in a greedy, self-serving way, but a little bit of encouragement to allow myself to enjoy what is good.

it’s the day after halloween. you dress the babes in their best winter warms, feed the dog, stoke the fire. there is frost on every fern. your 3 year old excitedly asks you if you’ll come with him to bring a few gone-by brussel sprouts to the compost heap. your life is very good.

When the blackberries hang

swollen in the woods, in the brambles

nobody owns, I spend

all day among the high

branches, reaching

my ripped arms, thinking

of nothing, cramming

the black honey of summer

into my mouth; all day my body

accepts what it is. In the dark

I was passing through a neighboring town and seeing the lush, green rolling hills and the blushing blueberry fields and the pale green lichens and fern after fern and while my first thought was my god, what a place to live!, my second thought was how many other animals on this earth look around at their habitat and think the very same, and how sweet that is. my old dog used to sit halfway down our hill and close her eyes. she was listening to the wind pass through, the stream go by, the seasons come in and go out without a sound. I’ll bet the birds and the crickets and the caterpillars do the very same.

why do you trust a government, even with republicans in office, with your own income with the cut they take with taxes? why do you trust them with your kids so much also? that is what it is to be an extreme liberal.

I am not responding to all 6 million of your messages because I have vegetables to pick today and I don’t feel like being a stand-in for every “liberal” you’re mad at. after I’m done with that I’m going to head up the road to my conservative grandparents’ house and pull some weeds in their garden while they’re at church.

this has never been a blog where I go over my opinions on government spending and I’m not gonna start now. I don’t think I have even discussed any of my political views on here (just my clothes, pictures of my woods, thoughts about having ADHD, etc.) until I felt like my content was actively being used to further a narrative that I despise.

I’m allowed to say “I am not a part of that” and you can die mad about it if that’s what you’re into.

in short: we disagree, and explaining how ludicrous most of this is would be such a tremendous waste of time.

most tradfems are also truly feminists.. as long as you truly believe in equality not that women should have more privileges than men. The only reason some women out there denounce feminism is because it's gotten to that point now in a lot of situations these days in a manipulative manor.

also I should add I have met gay and bisexual tradfems too.. otherwise it just means Traditionally Feminine. does this mean you are masculine? ?

most tradwives would consider me masculine, yeah. I’m not submissive, I have a job, haven’t shaved my legs in over a decade, can be rather crass.

the way other people identify is none of my business. gay and bi and pagan and liberal tradfems are welcome to claim that title. I do not wish to be categorized as a tradwife/tradfem.

why do you say you're not Trad when everything you post and have in your bio seems to be? is it because you don't like to admit you have something in common with some rather polite conservative women on here?

there are certainly aspects of my life that are more “traditional”, but I would imagine we both know that there’s more to being a tradwife than that.

growing your own food and nursing your babies doesn’t make you a tradwife. not sure what you’re seeing in my bio that is giving tradwife energy. seriously so, so, so many types of people grow food and body feed their offspring.

I’m assuming you’re not talking about all the posts where I specifically state what makes me not a tradwife, so let’s look at the rest of my content… pictures of my cabin, outfits of the day that contain lots of dresses and long skirts and aprons which people of all kinds wear on the reg, lots of ferns, some things I’ve crocheted, vintage pieces I’ve been given, some thoughts on parenting, notes about how I manage ADHD…

1. I don’t really care how polite you are in saying that you’re against me having rights, lol, strange thing to add in there. being polite doesn’t suddenly make me feel like I owe you a pat on the back for having shitty views that affect people I care about.

2. don’t mistake me for someone so fragile that I cannot admit to having common ground with a conservative woman just because they’re conservative women. truly, I am not so disconnected. I obviously acknowledge that we have common interests or I wouldn’t spend nearly as much time letting people know that I’m not one of them and they can depend on me to not be a bigot.
