We’re back! Yes, already. We’re just as surprised as you are. This one’s a club banger.
This week: [S] Cascade, the 13-minute Act 5 finale that brought down two major hosting platforms in one night.
Sometimes frog cancer is a dog-god carapace-man, and sometimes you’re wrong about the space explosion, and sometimes they’re sort of all one thing. Jade does some extremely important juggling. Bec, in spite of himself, is a very good dog. Page 4109, just the one.
Next time: We’re starting Act 6. The kids earn some merit badges and the sun shines on Earth.
P.S. You should check out the wiki article on this animation to read about all the amazing contributors who made Cascade possible!
Hamometer reading: 50.28%. One small step for an imaginary thermometer, one thunderous narrative hurdle for Ham.
You can find us on twitter and tumblr You can find alex on twitter and tumblr You can find Lydia socially distancing and playing with her cats.
Homestuck, as always, is created by Andrew Hussie.
Intro music is “Showtime (Original Mix)”, by Malcolm Brown. Outro music is “Showtime (Piano Refrain)”, also by Malcolm Brown, arranged & performed by Kevin Regamey. Both are on the album Homestuck vol. 1-4

In these trying times, please allow us to humbly offer… Ham.
This time, Karkat makes a horrible frog mistake, the Handmaid makes a break for it, and the kids go dark. Pages 3874 to 4108.
Next time: [S] Cascade! Cascade is the 13-minute blockbuster Flash update that ended Act 5 and brought down two media hosts in one night. It deserves its own episode, so we’re giving it one!
Hamometer reading: 50.26%. We’re halfway there!
You can find us on twitter and tumblr You can find alex on twitter and tumblr You can find Lydia socially distancing and letting her dog out.
Homestuck, as always, is created by Andrew Hussie.

Well!!!!!!!! Here’s Hamsteak!
Alex and Lydia return triumphant for another Homestuck anniversary with an episode that was recorded in August. We’re still planning on finishing this thing within our human lifetimes, folks.
John goes in the hole, Rose goes grimdark, Terezi goes to the roof and the reader goes to the doctor’s house. That’s right, it’s pages 3658 to 3873 of Homestuck.
The absolute bangers mentioned are Black Rose, Green Sun and BL1ND JUST1C3 – 1NV3ST1G4T1ON !!
When will the next episode be?! Hopefully in less than one calendar year! Thank you again for your patience and hello to anyone who’s hopped on in the meantime!
Hamometer reading: 47.68%.

April 13th again? No problem…
It’s the Hamsteak Podcast! It’s been about two years, but it’s like we never left!! We’ve been having a time!!! Thank you to everyone who’s discovered this podcast in the meantime and everyone who’s wondered if it would ever come back. The answer is, slowly, yes!
Did you know the main characters die in this story? A bunch of them do this week! Vriska tells John some heavy stuff. Mom and Dad go on a date. Doc Scratch is weird to teenage girls. We talk in this episode about how Homestuck tackles heavy subjects, specifically some ways it succeeds and some ways it massively fails. On that note, please be warned of a description of a sexual assault which begins at 38:40
This episode covers pages 3423 to 3658 of Homestuck - note that the numbering of the pages on the website has changed, and not longer includes the pagecount of the pre-Homestuck MS Paint Adventures.
Hamometer reading: 44.99%.
You can find us on twitter and tumblr You can find alex on twitter and tumblr You can find Lydia cuddling her cats and enjoying her time offline.
Homestuck, as always, is created by Andrew Hussie.

The first 4/13 without an upd8 has come and passed (unless you count the Hiveswap trailer), but we're still here in the throes of Act 5, so let's get to it!
This time: Murders, mystery, smooching, and fanatical revelations on the meteor while John and Jade finally get to catch up. Karkat turns his back on the body. Pages 5221 to 5322.
Hamometer reading: 41.84%.
Next time: Further murders and further mysteries, still on the meteor and potentially elsewhere. Ancestors turn out to be terrible bad role models. Somebody else turns out to be a paradox. Pages 5323 to 5416.
We want to give a CW for page 5407 in next week's reading for sexual assault. You can skip the page and still understand the story just fine.
Listen on Libsyn or in the iTunes store! Ask us questions on Tumblr or Twitter! Your hosts are portmanteau connoiseur Alex (Tumblr, Twitter) and notorious cloud-gawker Lydia (Tumblr, Twitter).
Homestuck, as always, is created by Andrew Hussie. Hamometer created using Honorless’ generator. Intro music is “Showtime (Original Mix)” - Malcolm Brown. Outro music is “Showtime (Piano Refrain)” - Malcolm Brown, arr. & performed by Kevin Regamey.

(But first, lots of off-record chatter because it's our podcast and we'll embarass ourselves if we want to.)
