“could you explain what we’re doing out here again?” xiao asks, watching from the branches of a nearby tree. you sigh, looking up at him with a peeved expression. “i told you i’m looking for this flower.”

the adepti raises an eyebrow, avoiding commentating on your actions once more. he simply relishes in the moment, fondly watching from afar as you search the area.

“found it!” you chirp, holding up the delicate white qingxins you had been searching for. “good. what are they for?” xiao asks, walking to your side to admire the little things.

“for you, of course.” xiao can feel the tips of his ears grow warm as you offer him the little bouquet. he isn’t quite sure what to do with them but he hesitantly takes them still and holds them over his face so you don’t have to see his flustered expression.

— 𝐊𝐚𝐞𝐲𝐚 𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐡

there’s a vase on his desk filled with dozens of calla lilies. he admires them often and gently touches the petals whilst daydreaming about you. you know how much he enjoys receiving them.

after a long day of work, kaeya’s unsurprised to see you sneaking into his office, a bouquet of calla lilies in hand, and a grin on your face. “couldn’t wait till i got home, i see.”

you roll your eyes at his comment, approaching the vase to take out the older flowers. kaeya watches you tenderly before taking your hand after you finish arranging them.

the sweet scent lingers on your fingertips and he kisses the insides of your palms gently. “i think i’ve finished up for the evening, shall we go?” he murmurs, standing and sweeping you off your feet with a loving grin.

“oh? and what’s this?” a look of surprise spreads across the man’s face as he feels the slight tug of the carefully picked dendrobiums you place in his hair.

he lays with his head in your lap, admiring the sweet fragrance they give off. you arrange them neatly in his hair, brushing away the loose strands of hair that fall into his pretty eyes. “i thought they’d compliment you.”

“well, were you right?” thoma grins, reaching up to tuck one of the flowers behind your ear as well. you see the slight pink flooding into his cheeks as you smile.

“of course i was. how could i be wrong when you’re surrounded by flowers?” the sincerity of your words has his mind short-circuiting and thoma zeroes in on your lips.

— 𝐙𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢

“what do you think about glaze lilies?” you inquire, staring out at the liyue landscape before you. a serene morning tea sits before you, steaming with a familiar fragrance.

zhongli pauses, following your gaze out at the rolling mountaintops and the misty clouds. his answer doesn’t come instantaneously but you’re glad he’s thinking about it. “they remind me of someone,” he finally says, a distant look in his eyes.

“why do you ask, my love?” you shrug, twirling the stem of the lily underneath the table. you debate on revealing it to him. finally, you simply don’t and excuse yourself from the table.

zhongli frowns, promising to speak with you again when he gets the chance. but as he’s cleaning the table, he spots the soft petals of a flower underneath your chair.

picking it up with a steady hand, zhongli can put two and two together. a soft smile perks his lips as he tucks the lily into his breast pocket, though not before pressing a kiss to the petals to thank you.

let’s talk, shall we?

it’s no secret that tumblr writers have been leaving or deactivating their blogs, especially in the last year or two. and i think the reason why is even less of a secret.

the fact that writers have to practically beg for feedback and interaction on a site where they post their works for FREE is ridiculous. the fact that most of the people who are reading and consuming these works don’t even spare 10 seconds to add a nice tag to their reblog (if they even bother to do that) is borderline enraging. this is tumblr, not instagram or twitter. likes on tumblr do nothing for the writer. i don’t care if you think that it helps them appear in the tags, or if you think that seeing yet another “___ liked your post” is encouraging to them, because it doesn’t and its not.

and speaking of likes, why is the ratio of likes to reblogs so fucking huge? and before you think i’m being dramatic, lets take a look at some of the notes from my own works.

at the time of me writing this, my one-shot, dream lover, has 821 notes. that’s pretty good right? but let’s see how many are empty likes and how many are reblogs.

769 likes.

52 reblogs.

out of those 52 reblogs, 35 of them are empty. no tag, no comment.

one of my reactions currently has 2,038 notes. you may be thinking that’s a lot, which it is and i’m incredibly thankful for how many notes i’ve gotten on it. but how many are likes and how many are reblogs?

1,924 likes.

113 reblogs.

out of those 113 reblogs, 81 of them are empty.

one of my headcanons currently has 1,110 notes.

1,069 likes.

41 reblogs.

28 of those 41 reblog are empty.

why is it so hard to reblog things and give feedback?

“oh but it won’t fit my blog theme!” if you’re so fucking concerned about what your precious tumblr blog looks like, then send an ask. they’re just as appreciated.

“i don’t know what to say tho!” we’re not asking you to be shakespeare. if you’re really that no thoughts head empty just put a keyboard smash, if nothing else.

“but i’m shy and embarrassed!” the anonymous option is there for a reason, and most writers have it turned on. being shy when you have the option of keeping your identity a secret is no excuse.

and yes, i’m aware that some writers don’t have the anon option on, which brings me to my final point.

stop. demanding.

if a writer has requests open, be a decent human being and use your manners. going into their inbox and saying “____’s reaction of this.” is no way to request something. saying please, thank you, or even “hey, could you do a reaction of _____?” is a thousand times better than just telling them what you want them to write.

writers spend hours of their time and energy to write things for you to read, and leaving an empty like is meaningless to them.

if your liked a writer’s works, reblog them and maybe add some nice fucking tags while you’re at or send an ask to them about it. because sooner or later, after so many likes and barely any interaction, more and more writers are going to leave.

stop making them desperate for any spare crumb of interaction and start leaving feedback if you love these writers so much.

lots to think about tonight :/

i want to keep it real with you guys because i care about you all, so if you’re curious in what i have to say, please stay.

long story short, i’ve been thinking about deleting this blog for a while. i’m still having an internal debate about it, but all in all i just don’t feel happy here anymore. i’m grateful for each and everyone one of you who have decided to follow me and build such a lovely community here, but i feel i am not being heard anymore.

1,400 is such an amazing number that i could never dream of accomplishing, and i’m in awe that so many of you enjoy my works. my mutuals are all amazing, and i’m so unbelievably lucky to have built relationships with you guys <3 truly you all are lovely and have made my time here great. but i feel that i am not as connected as i used to be, whether that be my fault or not.

this isn’t to say i would be disappearing from this site. i am thinking of making a new blog, where i would write from now on. starting anew sounds so refreshing to me.

i don’t know what i will end up doing with this blog, if i’ll stay here or not, but i just wanted to let you all know what i was thinking.
