Dark Disciple novel???
idk how many of y'all have read the dark disciple novel by Christie Golden, but I just finished it today and lemme tall you I'm licking my fingers.
So it's a novel based around the concept of a couple of unreleased clone wars episodes in which Quinlan Vos and Asajj Ventress team up (and fall in lub). It is NOT canon anymore but it very very very very very good !

Literally anything about Echo, please. Could be before or during bad batch, I’m just completely head over heels for the man
PAST LIVES // Echo x Reader
Summary: Echo's been rescued from Skako Minor, settling into Clone Force 99 slowly but surely. His past catches up with him during a routine diagnostic run, and you... well, you're unknowingly somewhere between a memory and a reunion. Echo is convinced he knows best.
Tumblr media
Something wasn't right, things were too soft and hazy, too golden, too warm, dreamy… But the way you were smiling at him, the way your warm fingers were tracing patterns through his hair, Echo couldn’t bring himself to think too hard about it. It had been far too long since he’d had time with you like this, legs tangled together, his hands were settled on you waist, and you were smiling lazily. Maybe something was right for the first time in a while.
Where was he again? Your apartment on Coruscant? The Barracks? Why couldn’t he tell? Then you shifted, rolling so you were on top of his chest. The hand not on his bicep crept up his torso, nails scratching just right to make his back arch. Maybe it didn’t matter where you were...
"We gotta get up." Your voice was sleepy but happy, muffled as you dropped your face into the crook of his neck. Echo wanted to focus on your voice, on the feel of your lashes against his jaw, but under your voice was the hint of something else. Something that injected a bit of urgency into his system, but nothing here was that urgent right? Echo wrapped his arms a bit tighter around your waist, but nothing felt different, like you slipping through his fingers.
"Echo, you need to wake up now." You said again, suddenly not buried in his neck but staring down at him expectantly. The warmth was sapping away, despite your touch his legs were feeling colder and stiffer. Your voice wasn’t soft, but an order, behind it was the reverberation of someone else’s. Rex? Fives? No, that wasn’t right either. Echo started to try to sit up, reaching up to run a hand through your hair, locks slipped over his quickly cooling fingers like an water washing away an illusion, revealing a durasteel scomp link in it’s place.
The urgency was rising, his other hand running over his head to find his cropped cut gone. Barely any stubble had started to regrow, his face had gone gaunt. Furrowed brows lifted his eyes to you, the golden version of you smiling and the cold urgent version of yourself flickering like a faulty holo-com. He tried calling your name, but a static shock at the base of his neck catapulted him first into darkness though he was becoming rapidly more aware of his reality.
Half a moment later, a hand shook his shoulder and he startled awake again. The harsh white light of the Kaminoan medical bay was a stark difference to the hazy golden light in his dream.
It had been a dream, of course it had, Echo hadn’t spoken to you since…well, since he’d been a different man.
"Diagnostic scans are looking good. New implants are operating satisfactory. " Tech announced, tapping away at a data pad that was connected by a couple wires to the base of Echo’s skull. The former ARC trooper sighed, craning his neck this way and that though the cybernetics along his spine wouldn’t let the joints pop.
"Great, can we find a way to test these things without knocking me out?" He groaned, watching Tech tap at a few more things. The genius rose his eyebrows.
"We could but we risk neural overload, neural underload, brain fry, memory lapse, short term memory loss, long term memory loss, hallucinations,…" Tech’s list was on going, bordering on droning but Echo’s focus was lost when motion at the door way caught his eye. The medbay doors swished apart, making room for two clones. Two older cadets in training armor, one half supporting his brother who was sans helmet. The injured one had blood dribbling down his forehead and looked more than a little dazed. Training incidents, those happened all the time. It was the pretty civilian nurse who flanked the pair that held Echo's attention, taking the injured cadet under his other arm to help him walk straight.
You.
It was like being shocked all over again.
Echo was an entirely different man now, but you… You’d barely changed. Sure, your hair was a little longer now, a couple more shadows under your eyes. But, you were still you. The woman that Echo had loved, still loved. He couldn't help but watch you sit the injured trooper down, asking both cadets diagnostic questions. They seemed flustered under your keen eyes, casting each other wide eyed looks when you’d offer them that soft, reassuring smile you gave all your patients.
You’d given Echo that smile, it seemed like decades ago now when you’d met, and, kriff, it’d stunned him to silence, too. Still did. Echo watched you put gloves on, sliding them over a ring he’d given you shortly before he left for the Citadel. And he watched those gloved hands gently feel over the Cadet’s head, not quite like you used to play with his hair, but just as gentle. He couldn’t quite hear your voice, but he could see your lips moving, your face was still gentle, probably explaining what you were doing or cracking a joke as opposed to the scolding you used to serve the 501st when they’d get hurt doing something dumb.
The cadet flinched as you started to clean the shallow wound on his forehead, and Echo almost laughed at the face you made at him. There was the scolding, judging by how the cadet sat up a little straighter. It didn’t take you long, cleaning, bandaging, shining a light in the clone’s eyes.
"Alright, I think you’ll survive, just barely."
Echo couldn’t hear you, but he knew that glint in your eyes. You always said that when treating minor wounds; you thought it was funny. He knew exactly the lilt of your voice, which words you put emphasis on, the quirk of your brow, the breath of a laugh you’d tag on the end as you patted the Cadet’s knee. He’d heard you say it a hundred times, been the patient on the receiving end when he’d make excuses to come see you in the medbay before he asked you out.
Tech was prodding his shoulder again, trying to get his attention. Echo could just barely hear him over the rash of memories going through his mind.
"Are you even listening to me? Something made your brainwaves spike." Tech questioned finally looking up from his datapads to follow Echo’s line of sight to you, "Oh."
The cadets were leaving now, you were cleaning up the bit of mess you made before taking a sweep of the infirmary. Your eyes landed on the two different clones, your brow twitched for a moment as you looked at him. A spark of recognition dimmed by a crash of sadness before you shook your head, offering the two of them a smile and wave.
"Can I help with anything?" You called after setting a cleaning droid on your station. You were walking over, curiosity in your pretty eyes.
"No, just routine diagnostics." Tech answered when Echo just stared at you like a ghost. Ironic considering he was the more ghost like of the two of you. You slipped more into work mode,  eyes scanning over the cybernetics on his head and dumbstruck look.
"And they’re coming back green?" You asked, sincerely, reaching out to gently take hold of Echo’s chin. Kriff, if you touched him he didn’t know what he’d do. He’d been so carefully avoiding you since his rescue. Stars, the truth was clawing up his throat to tangle with the wisps of your perfume that he’d breathed in, like sparks and gas. It burned your presence into him, but, dank farrik, it was nice to be warm again.
But could he do this to you? You deserved more than what he’d become, he couldn’t give you what he once could. Could he put you through that after everything?
Rex had told him. How hard you took it when the news of Echo’s apparent death was broken to you. Everything you’d been through afterwards. Rex told him that you weren’t coping well, you were becoming reckless, distant. Barely eating, barely sleeping, less patient, quiet. The only reason you were still working in the GAR at all was because some of the boys were worried what might happen to you if you were formally discharged. So, Rex pulled some strings, had you transferred back to Kamino where you’d been primarily an instructor, teaching cadets medical skills, running drills with them to show them how to work with civilians in the field, and taking shifts in the infirmary just to keep busy. Compared to what Kix had described, you seemed to finally be doing better. You seemed like you.
Echo could feel the warmth emanating off your fingertips as they got closer, reminding him exactly why he needed to not be this close. That spark of recognition was back in your stare, your brow twitching. At the last second, Echo flinched backwards away from your fingers, leaning away to try not to choke on your scent as he cleared his throat.
"Just a little out of sync when things come back online, ma’am, nothing to worry about. ‘M fine." Echo forced his voice to be rigid, cut and dry, the way soldiers were supposed to talk to civilians like you. Anything else, he’d be afraid you’d clock him based just off his tone. You always could do that, pick him out of a crowd with your eyes closed. Sometimes, Fives and Jesse would convince Echo to play ‘musical armor’ to try to trick you, you wouldn’t even have to turn around. The moment Echo opened his mouth, you’d hit him with a sweet greeting. It always made the guys laugh, but it made Echo feel… right, warm all the way through. So, he couldn’t risk it and kept his voice firm.
Echo expected you to look at him weird, maybe even be irritated at his cold tone, but instead, you just smiled, shaking your head with the slightest laugh as you dropped your hand back to your side.
"What?" Echo pressed, fighting the urge to smile back. He shouldn’t have, he needed to leave. It was nice to have you this close again, but it’d just hurt more in the long run. You straightened up, taking a half step back.
"Sorry, you just… remind me of someone I used to know."
Echo tried not to flinch at that.
"We’re needed in the docking bay."
Both of you had completely forgotten Tech was there. The batch’s genius was watching Echo carefully and you curiously, and for all the crap they gave him, Tech had obviously picked up on Echo’s inner struggle. Tech stood slowly, slipping his helmet on and handed Echo’s to him, "We’ll see ourselves out."
Echo nodded to Tech, and also to himself, before offering you a curt nod as well, just for the excuse to give you another short look. Your brows crinkled again, but Echo turned on his heel to follow Tech out before he could give you anymore reason to question him.
"Oh, alright. Bye then." Your voice was soft, confused as you stared at the two men leaving the infirmary.
"You knew her."
Tech’s phrase wasn’t a question, but a fact. Stated as such as they walked back to the docking bay. Echo answered it like one anyone, after he slipped his helmet on, hoping it’d make him harder to read.
"Uh, yeah. She used to work in the 501st." Not a lie, you had worked in the 501st, after the incident on the Rishi moon.
"Your body language suggests some sort of deeper relation than simple coworkers. Your pupils dilated, brainwaves spiked, vocal change, hyper fixated focus, fidgety muscle reactions-"
"Don’t need a biology lesson, Tech." Echo groaned, "And I’m suggesting that it doesn’t matter anymore."
"It just insinuates that-"
"Un-insinuate it then."
"Hmm." Tech hummed, casting an odd look to the newest member of the Batch.
"I..." Echo thought for a moment, trying to come up with some sort of dismissal, but that truth was still crawling up his throat. His shoulders slumped a bit as he fixed his helmeted gaze on the pristine white floors, "I'm not the man she knew."

wow this is so dramatic and unedited lol

Pent Up // Tech x Reader
Summary: After an awkward wake up call from a rather... entertaining... dream. You spend a week trying to distract yourself from your traitorous mind. It doesn't take long for Tech to catch on.
TW: wet dream, brief mentions of erotic things, nothing outright just a lot of build up and tension
somewhere between pg13 and R, originally I was gonna write the smut but then it sat in my drafts for two years so congrats you're getting a fade to black
18+ MDNI for sure tho
Tumblr media
A hand shook your shoulder, shaking the last sensation of your dream away and forcing you awake with a start. A whine died on your lips as your bleary eyes snapped open to meet the eyes of the object of aforementioned dream. Your already blushed cheeks went even hotter as Tech looked down at you in mild concern and heavy curiousness. He was put together, as always, still in his armor except for his helmet. Laying in your bunk in disheveled pajamas, the contrast wasn’t lost on you. You were acutely away of how warm you were, how much you had been squirming in your sleep, how your thighs were clenching, and extremely aware of the slick warmth dampening your pajama bottoms.
As your mind reeled from the… riveting dream, it switched gears to run overdrive on how to save yourself the embarrassment of being caught having a wet dream. Caught by the one soldier you were mentally assaulting in your sleep… Under Tech’s curious gaze you wanted to melt- and not in the fun way his gaze usually made you want. How loud were you that you not only alerted the genius, but you drawn him away from his projects- something that usually took an explosion or ship crash to do?
Of course Tech didn’t look uncomfortable in the least, simply waiting for your answer as he removed his hand from your shoulder so you could scramble up into a sitting position, keeping the blanket firmly around your lower half as you batted sleep mussed hair from your face. The only consolation was that while you and Tech hit the rack, Wrecker and Hunter were supposed to be flying while Crosshair filled out his fair share of his share of field reports.
Tech gave you a once over as you collected yourself, eyebrows creasing as you tried to get your breathing under control.
"Are you alright, (y/n)?" He asked slowly, watching you curiously as your knees bowed together under your blanket. If you’re eyes weren’t screwed shut from embarrassment, you would’ve seen his Adam’s apple bob at the sight. You cleared your throat to busy trying not to focus on the way his armor accentuated all of his best features in the dim light of the bunks, hoping your voice would maintain some level of propriety.
"Y-yeah, yeah, Tech, I’m alright. ‘M Fine." You nodded just a little too quick, voice just a hair from being even, so in an attempt to feel out how much damage you did to your dignity in your sleep, you added in false casual airs, "Why do you ask?"
Tech's eyebrow went from creased to quirked, running a hand over his face, "You were tossing and turning, groaning like you were-"
You didn’t think you could take him continuing or the thought of him watching you so you went with the first excuse that came to mind, "In pain, like I was in pain."
Voice rushed, your own eyebrows furrowed at what you were saying. Tech looked confused as well- neither of you knew where this was heading.
"Pain?" He repeated, voice unbelieving but worried, "Are you…injured? Why didn’t you tell me earlier."
Well, that lie wouldn’t work either. Besides your inability to control your brain, there was nothing wrong with you. And if you couldn’t come up with something, Tech would insist on checking you over. You couldn’t look him in the eye at the moment much less let him touch you after your dream. Wait, dream!
"Injured? No, no sir." You cringed, you had never once called Tech ’sir’ since you met him, and judging by his… reaction, now wasn’t the time to start, "I had… a nightmare. Yeah, real bad nightmare. Probably gonna talk to the Civ. Enlistment shrink about it, yep."
Your nodding didn’t do much to convince the Tech, as he just watched your rambling, with a concerned furrowed brow. Running a hand over your face, flung your blanket off your legs quickly as you swung them over the side of your bunk- the middle one. Just high enough that you had to jump, but low enough someone tall like Tech could still look down at you if you were laying down. Too much laying in the dark room with the man (literally of your dreams) had your thoughts spiraling along with your white hot embarrassment- fight or flight was kicking in and you were choosing flight.
Pushing off the bunk, your bare feet hit the cold floor but you weren’t prepared for how jelly-like your legs would be. Before you could even hit your knees, Tech caught you against his chest. He was warm, and the hopeless romantic in you didn’t fail to notice how you fit perfectly against him or how easily he held you steady, and his chest was firm. Oh stars, don’t let him feel how hard my nipples are. Tech was leaner than his brothers, but no less stronger than his brothers, something that slipped your mind occasionally- only now, as your palms were splayed over his chest it wasn’t so easy to forget.
His large hands easily encased both of your arms, images flashed through your mind- but it wasn’t your arms he had been holding in your dreams. Eyes fluttering, you shook your head, backing away from the genius as soon as you were sure you wouldn’t fall over. Tech ignored your stammered apologies though you were sure cheeks were practically glowing in the dim light, "(Y/N), are you sure you’re alright? You feel warm, you might have a fever. I think I should-"
You were pretty sure if you spent one more moment with his hands on you, you would break every single rule about soldier civilian interrelations in the books so you all but wrenched away from him, earning a confused look as you grabbed the first jacket and pair of pants you could find.
"No time, I’m perfectly fine- hey that’s almost a rhyme-" You stammered, snatching your shoes, "Look at the time, things to fix, no fever here."
Tech tried to protest but you were already down the hall before he could even grab a medscanner off his belt.
__
I’ve been on this ship too damn long.
You thought to yourself, splashing water on your face. If the interaction with Tech wasn’t enough to keep you from sleeping again, the lingering feelings and memories from your dream kept your skin tingling and your mind swirling around one resident genius. So you gave up sleep.
Instead, you decided to work, preferably underneath floor panels where engine parts were thrumming with power - where Tech wouldn’t run into you unless he tried. Bonus points for being far away one of the few places on the ship your dream hadn’t contaminated.
If he can’t see me, I can’t think about- images of lips trailing across skin, pressing into your thighs, thighs over a lean shoulder. You smacked hands on either side of your cheeks to physically halt that train of thought, What is wrong with me?!
The answer was simple, you were the only woman on a ship of five men, one of which you pretty sure you were in love with, had been on active duty nonstop for weeks and you didn’t even have your own room- no action, no breaks, no privacy.
You worked for a couple hours straight, too embarrassed show your face again. Until, you finally surfaced top pass through the fresher. Clean face, clean thoughts, right? Growling in frustration, you ran a dry towel over your face before shoving your arms back into your work jacket.
You were so caught up in your own thoughts, you didn’t even think twice when the fresher door swished open- it was a communal fresher, it wasn’t uncommon for one or more of the Batch to share the space with you at a time. So common in fact, you didn’t even look up from your routine- adjusting your hair, swiping cosmetics on.
As you peered into the mirror, internally giving yourself a half pep talk, half scolding, the last face that you wanted to see appeared in the reflection behind you.
"Kriff!" You yelped, startled, spinning around so quickly you risked whiplash, instinctively your hands flew to balance yourself against the counter, the cool metal grounding your feverish skin. It was Tech behind you, in his blacks with a towel over his shoulder, watching you in confusion as you met his eyes briefly before your face went scarlet, your eyes dropped- resting anywhere but his. "Tech! Good morning- night… afternoon? No time in space, am I right?"
The genius’s eye brows crinkled, which you would’ve noticed if you weren’t so busy staring at the floor. Tech took another step forward, bending slightly so he could look at your face and eyes narrowing. He was close enough to touch, the smell of mechanic grease, GAR issue soap, and something so inherently Tech flooded your senses as he asked, "You didn’t get anymore sleep, did you? Are you sure you’re alright, (Y/N)?"
Another slew of images flashed through your mind, long fingers tilting your chin up, and the last time you were pressed against a counter it wasn’t from this angle, ‘is this alright?’… It was then you realized with his new position, your floor gaze had turned into staring at his abdomen, where his blacks clung to him leaving very little to the imagination. You forced your eyes up to his.
Between his scent and your own traitorous thoughts, your throat constricted, eyes widening and nostrils flaring slightly, "‘m fine. Gotta go, things need fixing."
With that, you ducked away from him and quite literally fled the scene for the second time in a matter of hours. Tech watched you go, head tilting to the side.
"I don’t understand civilians."
——
Ridiculous, You thought. I’m an adult, I should be able to control myself.
The bolt you were tightening popped out of the panel it was supposed to be holding together.
“Dank Farrik!" You growled, snatching it back and attempting to shove it into place. The first time it skewed to far to the left, and next swaying to the right, and the third it was too far up. Irritated, in rapid succession, you slammed the bolt into the metal over and over- despite it never going into the hole.
A certain part of your dream popped into your mind.
Don’t think about slamming- or holes. You quickly corrected yourself, but didn’t stop your incessant sla- jamming.
"I thought being a trained engineer meant knowing how to do something a bit more… technical than that." A drawling voice appeared over your shoulder, the bolt getting plucked out of your fingers and plugged into the ho- opening on the first try.
"Crosshair." You breathed in recognition, irritation still lacing your tone as you looked over your shoulder. The stir in your stomach thinking it might be Tech fading away into not quite relief, but something less… stirring. The marksman was leaning against the wall you were working on, it wasn’t surprising he sought you out. Aside from Tech, you were close with Crosshair- an odd friendship that no one really understood. "I thought you were next on nav rotation.”
“Tech came to the cockpit with a pretty interesting concerns. He switched shifts with me, said he had too much to think about to sleep. So, he’s up top with Hunter." The marksmen shrugged, critical eyes giving you a once over as you blushed- a more and more common occurrence.
"Yeah, we all have bad dreams sometimes." You huffed, a low blow, but if anyone could take a mean comment it was Crosshair. The nightmares were kind of a sensitive spot for most clones, but was there anyone on this ship that hadn’t already heard of your sleep... issues?
You assumed that once he got his odd version of teasing in, he would move along but Crosshair didn’t go any further than the nearest crate so he could sit down and pop a tooth pick in his mouth. You allowed him two minutes of staring before snipping, "Is there something you needed?”
"Not me. Tech wanted you to help him with something about reverse thrust-“
"I’m busy." You clipped quickly cutting off Crosshair’s words, wrenching the bolt so quickly that the metal scraped. Your fingers were shaking as you tucked hair behind your ears, clearing your throat, you elaborated, "Tech can handle them himself, he’s, ah, perfectly adept. I’m incredibly busy here.”
Crosshair lifted a single brow, looking at the squeaky cupboard panel you were working on. Clearly a bottom of the list kind of task, "You are acting weird. He might be oblivious, but he always notices you.”
"I am not acting weird." You snapped but your voice had a quirk to it, what did Crosshair mean by that? You filed that away for later, "Unless you have something to put on my to do list, I’m busy because I’m fine, Cross.”
"Riiiiight, completely normal, I’ll let him know.”
You watched him go before looking at your rather shoddy wrench-bolt job. Sighing, you set to work undoing the crooked bolt, Maybe I am a little pent up.
__
So started a week of awkwardness between you and Clone Force 99’s resident genius. And it wasn’t long before the rest of the batch began to catch on. Not that you were exactly subtle about it.
Any time Tech entered a room, your eyes would go wide and a flush would creep up your neck. If you were speaking to someone else, the moment you saw him you would start stuttering or just stop all together. Sometimes it was fluttery nervousness, and other times you just got distracted by his presence. But always, unless actively in a firefight, it would only take about five minutes before you’d shake your head and escape the room like a gundark out of hell.
Bright side, you spent so much time avoiding Tech you had made it to the bottom of your prioritized to-do list for the first time since joining Clone Force 99. Down sides, it was getting harder to avoid him, and as mentioned earlier, the others were starting to notice- plus, even if you to do list was getting slim, all the work was shoddy at best. When you weren’t actively avoiding him, all you could do was stare at Tech like a lovesick (re: hormonal) schoolgirl.
Crosshair had caught you staring at Tech on multiple occasions, typically flicking his toothpick at you to get you to stop. He would roll his eyes but at least he was quiet about it. He’d just tease you whenever he caught you alone, constantly reminding you of your embarrassment. If you weren’t so preoccupied with Tech, you’d be glad- his teasing his own way of accepting you into the group. But you were preoccupied, so usually, you’d huff dramatically throwing (and missing) the toothpick back in his direction.
There was the incident where Hunter himself had to order you to go with Tech on a mission, something that had never been an issue before as you usually preferred working with the genius. Subsequently, you were so high-strung that you put your complete focus on rewiring a door panel. So much focus, in fact, that Tech himself had to pull you out of the way of a super battle droid’s fire. He had pushed you against a wall and completely covered you with his body while Crosshair took care of the battle droid. Had it not been for the smoking blaster shot in the wall where you had previously been working, you would have melted when Tech so tenderly asked if you were alright. Like a helpless damsel, all you could do was stare up into the goggles of his helmet for a moment before nodding demurely. Then, so frustrated with yourself you had to walk away from the genius before you could give Hunter a reason to transfer you.
Tech, himself, had decided you were obviously upset about something and spent more time than usual trying to get you alone. He’d sit down across from you while you ate, which resulted in an awkward silence and you abandoning your barely touched food. Find you while you brushed your teeth- it had been embarrassing when you accidentally choked yourself with the toothbrush because you’d been too busy ogling him in his blacks. And if you hadn’t been so focussed on saving yourself from any additional embarrassment, you would have noticed the worried expression start to slip into a more hurt category whenever you’d literally run away from him with a lame, short excuse.
Then there was the time when Wrecker had been speaking to you, explaining how his helmet’s comms unit was shorting out after a hit in battle. You were supposed to be listening to him, figuring out from his description of the sound what the issue was and how to fix it. But over his shoulder, your eyes had landed on Tech and your breath had hitched in your throat as you watched him unfasten his armor. Like a teenager watching a strip tease, you shifted your weight from foot to foot, "Are you even listening to me?"
Wrecker’s booming voice sounded more distant that it should considering you were fiddling with his helmet, but it alerted Tech who looked up from his chest piece. His eyes immediately found yours, and you looked away quickly. After promising Wrecker you’d look into it, you took the helmet before escaping down to the cargo hold, thankful Tech didn’t follow you this time.
You might actually have too request a transfer at this rate.
It was Hunter that confronted you about it. He’d noticed your distraction, your anxious demeanor, the decline in your quality of work, and that’s just the things he noticed outright. He saved some of your pride by not mentioning everything he could smell or hear. Instead taking the role of scolding boss. A role he played expertly, judging by the exceedingly dissapointed way he said your name before pressing further.
"You’re better than this. What’s up with you?" He had asked, having followed you after you slipped away from Tech yet again. He had found you cleaning the brand-new air filters in the cargo hold.
"Nothing’s up with me, Hunter." You shrugged, hoping he would drop it. He didn’t.
"Really? ‘Cause you’ve been making rookie mistakes. You were assigned to us because you don’t do that." The sergeant reminded you, crossing his arms over his chest. You were offended to say he had a point.
"Just going a little stir crazy, Sarge." You sighed. Hunter shook his head, clapping a hand onto your shoulder.
"Do us all a favor and just tell him." He requested, shaking his head as he turned to leave, "It’s a small ship to be stir crazy on, and neither of you are subtle."
You watched him go, first embarrassed at being caught- knowing what Hunter could hear, smell, and infer, that he chose not to complain about- but then your mind fixated on something else.
"Hunter. What do you mean by ‘neither’?"
___
You were grateful for the planet’s scorching sun, some unnamed backwater (despite the lack thereof) planet that simply had been the nearest Republic friendly refuel/ maintenance station after you deduced the Havoc Marauder wouldn’t make it back to Kamino with the navigation calibration malfunctioning like they were, lest you hyper speed into a black hole. After you’d made your deduction, you had almost combusted when Tech had leaned over your shoulder, breath grazing your ear as he checked over your work at Hunter’s request. You would’ve been offended if you weren’t so busy gaping like a schoolgirl at Tech’s side profile so close to your face.
’Neither of you are subtle.’ The sergeant’s words played through your mind for the hundredth tune.
Like, for instance, as you sat in the cockpit, you were supposed to be running diagnostics on the rather shifty new calibrator and modifier Hunter had procured from the maintenance station’s ‘buy, sell, trade’ front room. It didn’t have to be perfect, it just had to get you from dust ball point A to rainy, Kaminoan point B.
But instead, you were distracted. Which should really be the summary of the past week of your life. Specifically, you were distracted by Tech’s legs. Long, armor clad, muscled, his leather side holsters clinging to the white composite as they splayed out from under the Marauder’s dash.
You never exactly forgot how tall Tech was, he towered over you even with his usually hunched posture. But, with his top half hidden underneath the console it was a reminder at just how long his legs were. Your breath caught in your throat as his hips lifted, legs tensing as metal groaned. Something snapped before Tech tossed a rusted piece of metal away from himself. The way his thighs clenched and unclenched with the effort made your entire body tense as well, you hadn’t noticed your straying focus until the electroprod zapped your hand. Fortunately, Tech’s voice drowned out your quiet yelp.
"I have found our problem." He announced, grabbing a tool off of his belt. So preoccupied with his long legs, you blinked slowly at his long fingers as they traced up his thigh to find the right tool.
"Oh? have you?" You breathed, after realizing you hadn’t answered. You shook your head, forcing yourself back to your task. You corrected your own work, the small electro prod in your hand zapped at the calibrator, mostly to see if it could handle any sort energy current. Tech had started rambling about some Acid spitting bugs the ship had picked up on Ethesda IV, apparently the coating on the calibrator was similar to their main food source. Acid spitting bugs should’ve been a turn off, but how his voice stopped and started and strained and grunted as he periodically tore out rusted pieces outweighed the bugs.
“And the calibrator? Is it satisfactory?” He asked, hips twisting as he continued working under the dash. Satisfactory? Nothing about the past weeks had been satisfactory but that wasn’t what he asked. He emerged just enough to hold his hand out.
“It’ll do.” You hummed as the diagnostic ran somewhere between yellow and green. You stood, keeping a respectable distance between you as you handed him the small piece of equipment, “I could use an extra set of hands down here, would you?”
You were digging through your mind for another lame excuse until you saw Hunter peek around the door frame of the cockpit, a look someplace between warning and scolding crossing the sergeant’s face. So, you sighed.
“Of course, where do you need m-e?” You nodded, noticing your words as they caught in your throat. You cleared it and crouched down beside the soldier. He paused for a moment, even his feet halted their slight movement until he cleared his throat as well.
“Beside me, I need you to hold the calibrator in place as I wired it in.” Tech answered you, staying half obscured but twisting his body so his hips stayed flat but he was laying on his ribs. You swallowed around nothing, sighing flatly as you wiggled under the dashboard beside him, “A bit closer, so I can reach around you.”
Stiff and rigid, you slowly inched closer to him until you were close enough for one of his arms to snake under your waist and pull you all the way to him. You choked out a yelp. Just as easily as he’d pulled you to him, he propped you just enough so his shoulder and chest could slot underneath your back.
Under the dash there was barely enough room for this position, so it wasn’t possible to keep yourself propped up unless you wanted your nose pressed to the exposed wiring he was working on. So, you had no choice but to forced yourself to at least half relax against him. Your back to his chest, his face right next to yours so the light on his goggles could illuminate the slot where the calibrator belonged, one of his knees twisted under yours leaving you caged between the legs you’d been staring at for so long. His even breaths were fanning over your cheek, the two of you practically puzzle pieced together. He retracted the arm from underneath your waist and moved himself accordingly so that arm instead went under your neck, further trapping you against him.
“Apologies, though I trust I don’t need to explain to you what happens if this comes loose during light speed travel.” He explained, though you couldn’t see how his analytical eyes watched you carefully as he pressed the calibrator back into your hands and guided them to the correct spot, “Perfect, just there.”
His fingers left your wrist and began the process of wiring the calibrator into place. You were grateful for his armor, even if your couldn’t ignore his scent and warmth all around you, you were positive if you could feel his muscles moving underneath you you’d have to stick your hand in the power source to keep from committing a serious breech of civilian-solider contact etiquette. Just a snap of his hips… placed just under the round of your ass…
“You’re shaking, is everything alright?” Tech’s voice shocked you out of your thoughts. You flinched, almost jerking the half connected calibrator right back out of the dash. You tried thinking of a reason, but your voice seemed caught somewhere between your heart and throat. So you settled for a vague hum.
“Mhm.”
“Would you hand me the microwelder? It’s on the right side of my belt.”
Even your breaths were shaking as you used one hand to keep the calibrator in place, and used the other the blindly reach down between the two of you. Your fingers grazed against the composite of the armor on his thigh, overshooting your aim for his belt. For the first time, he tensed as well. Using nothing but touch, you worked your way up, trying to keep your touch as light as possible as it worked over his holsters and to the tools hanging from his belt. You put all your focus on your mechanical knowledge, deducing the tools by shape- data scomp, electoprod, multitool, electrical tape… microwelder.  You almost cried in relief, jerking your hand away as soon as you’d unclipped it. The slight graze of your finger tips against his glove palms felt the same as sticking your fingers in the power source.  Tech’s shoulders adjusted, jostling the both of you. Though he didn’t struggle to move you at all, his voice sounded ever so slightly strained as he used the microwelder to hold the wires in place, “Almost there, keep doing what your doing.”
Kriff, what the hell was wrong with this man?
“There. That should do it.”
You wiggled out from the dash so fast that you almost didn’t register his hands on your waist assisting you. Almost. Tech watched after you, the curiosity in his eyes turning into something more akin to understanding as you slipped into the fresher.
—
You had never been so grateful to touchdown on Kamino. After the longest week of your life on probably the smallest ship you could’ve been assigned to, you were ready for some much needed space. And the privacy of the usually empty civilian barracks sounded like the perfect retreat. Kamino was the one republic stronghold that didn’t have a shortage of workers, they didn’t need a civilian enlistments to lighten the load when they could hand the tasks off to Cadet’s and call it a learning experience. Usually you found Kamino to be lonely, only seeing the boys at meal times, but this time you were chomping at the bit, praying to the Force or whatever other entity out there that the bunks would be empty as usual.
As soon as the Marauder touched down in the hangar, you were down the loading steps before it even finishing descending. You finished your debriefs in record time and skipped dinner in favor of returning to the Havoc Marauder to start fixing some of your shoddier than usual workmanship in addition to typical post-mission ship maintenance since your bunk would be the first place Tech might look for you.
"I thought I would find you here.”
You physically jumped when Tech’s calm voice called out from the ship’s entrance, hitting your head on the cockpit’s console you were working under. Cursing under your breath, you scuttled out from under the console. Tech was leaning against the entrance to the cockpit, watching you like a wild animal who might spook. You guessed that wasn’t too far off from the truth judging by the already rising heat to your face and the way your eyes danced around to anywhere but his face.
"You missed dinner." He informed you when you didn’t respond, rubbing your head as you closed the panel you had been working on and pulled yourself up to your knees.
"Oh, did I?" You asked in faux concern as if you hadn’t purposely skipped communal dinner. Suddenly, you realized you were looking up to him from your knees and your nearly choked on the recycled air your were breathing. You scrambled up to your feet, nervously smoothing out your clothes as you momentarily met Tech’s eyes before purposely pointing your own gaze else where- the blinking lights around the cockpit very interesting. In your peripheral, you saw his eyebrows furrow, face hardening as you leaned back against the console.
"Have I done something to bother you?" He asked, suddenly. Moving a bit closer to you, he froze when you leaned even further away.
"Not a thing, Tech. Why do you ask?”
One of his eyebrow quirked behind his goggles, telling you he didn’t believe you for a moment. Tech might be oblivious about somethings, but he always knew when you were lying to him, "You have not looked me in the eye, much less spoken to me since…”
He trailed off, looking to you to finish his thought. Your rose tint flashed ruby, redder than the shield button blinking on the console behind you. Yep, time to escape.
"Listen, Tech, I really don’t-" You chuckled dryly, moving to squeeze past him.
"Have time for this? I think you do." Tech shook his head, sidestepping so his larger frame immediately cut off your exit. Bumping into the composite chest piece of his armor, you stammered something akin to an excuse as you tried to squeeze past you again. The genius repeated his action, this time catching you by bracing his hands on either of your arms and holding them gently to your side to keep you in place.
Now, you were forced to look up at him, trying to ignore how much skin his longs fingers managed to cover. You wondered if he could feel your erratic pulse under your skin. He observed your face for a moment, from the tint in your cheeks, the quickness of your breath, to part of your lips. He muttered mostly to himself but you caught it, "Dramatic dilation of the eyes, heightened pulse, shallow breathing, erratic behavior.”
Once he finished his list- or maybe stopped listing aloud for your pride’s sake- he cleared his throat, releasing his grip one your arms so you could take a hesitant step back. Your mind was screaming at you to create some distance, but your thudding heart made it hard to force yourself to move. Tech wasn’t finished with you yet though, his chocolate yes narrowed on you before softening as he continued, "Hunter informed me that you didn’t have a ’nightmare’, as you said.”
Yep, you were going to spontaneously combust if the ground didn’t open up and swallow you first- either option was preferable to the turn in conversation. Hell, spontaneous separatist invasion would be less painful.
"Listen, Tech, I really-" You started, but silenced yourself when you saw the way he adjusted his stance. Shoulders broader, chin dipping lower, one leg moving forward…. if you were any closer it would be between your legs.
"He also had a few theories about the content of said dream, one in particular that interested me." He continued, voice dipping as he continued to stalk towards you until the back of your thighs hit the control deck, forcing you to half lean half sit on the panel. Your backside pressed a couple buttons, managing to conveniently kill the overhead lights and close the door to the bridge in one fell swoop. Whoever was in charge of the force, you wanted to have a firm talking to because you’re heart couldn’t take much more of this. "You’re in your prime, in multiple adrenaline and endorphin inducing situations, surrounded by 4 men… a healthy drive is nothing to be so embarrassed of.”
Your own voice wasn’t quite a sure, almost choked as you nodded, "Gl-glad we covered that, Tech.”
"I also know, from my research, that the easiest way to resolve this is to act on it.”
Your mind actually went blank the moment the word sunk in. You weren’t sure, but there was a large likelihood you just stood there and gaped at Tech like a fish. He waited, eyes analyzing you from behind the goggles. One moment passed, and then two before you spoke.
"Act on it…" You repeated slowly, butterflies melting from your stomach, pooling elsewhere, "Like.. you want to act on it with me?”
Tech closed the distance, his hands on you again. One at your hip and one gracing your hair,  "We really were as oblivious as Hunter said.”
The armor on his hips pressed into your soft flesh, his long diligent fingers trailing down your arm, "You can tell me to stop.”
Your eyes had be following his fingers down, your own twitched and laced into the leather straps that held his holsters to his thighs as if that would tether him to you, "Please don’t.”
A ghost of a smile went across his face before he startled you, picking you up swiftly and depositing you in the pilots seat. You weren’t quite sure of the logistics of this decision until he knelt down in front of you, kissing your lips first and yet not long enough for your liking. You chased his mouth with yours, but he pulled back, focussing down to your belt.
“Now, tell him. How did these dreams of yours go?”

Bad Idea, Right? // Fives x Reader // song fic
Insp: Bad Idea, Right? by Olivia Rodrigo // listen here on Spotify After a messy breakup, Five's reaches out again, much to all of their friends chagrins. You both know you should show some restraint... fuck it it's fine. Tw: alcohol consumption, broken up, steamy make out, friends don't approve, implication of hooking up, implications of previous toxic relationship, open to interpretation at the end more of pg13 but just to be safe: 18+ only, minors dni you can't tell me Fives didn't have a frat boy era. starts with him fairly fresh into being an Arc trooper.
Tumblr media
I want to make it clear that this is not supposed to read as being too drunk to consent. Things that happen in this fictional work are meant to be taken as consensual acts.
--
79's was loud and crowded, which was exactly why you weren't there.
Ever since you had pointedly transferred out of the 501st after your break up, hookup, make up, breakup, hookup, give or take five more ons and offs, and a final very public break up with Fives, you had wound up back on Coruscant working odd jobs, bouncing around the GAR shipyard, Jedi Temple, and barracks.
It had been a pointed resignation from the 501st, a spiteful statement, the final taunt to your ex to let him know that you were done- for real- this time. No one had been able to talk you out of it, and with dead eyes and a smug smirk you had signed the holopad. It had been a little over two months, and 79's had become your usual after work haunt.
Until, one of your friends had heard through the grapevine that the 501st was planet side after a sweeping victory in the outer rim. Which meant that the entirety of the blue painted legion would be celebrating at the clone bar- including the one soldier that all your friends were telling you to avoid. Fives.
You hadn't spoken since you'd signed your resignation. Which was odd, because Fives was never known for his silence. In the months without him, you'd started missing his loud laughs, terrible jokes that never failed to make you laugh as well, his cheesy grins, soft eyes, wandering hands, and... okay, well maybe you just missed him all together. But really, this time it was really over. Truly.
The bar your friends had chosen, on the other side of Coruscant and completely different level than 79's, wasn't bad. It was full of cool people who were probably interesting, decent looking, and most importantly very not Fives. So, your private comms unit buzzing on your wrist shouldn't have stolen your attention so quickly. The holo projector flashed the contact name, and you instinctively turned so none of your friends would see, you already knew it was a bad idea and they would disapprove.
Fives out of Ten DO NOT ANSWER. SERIOUSLY DON'T ANSWER HIM.
You stared at the contact flashing, debating, teeth toying at your glossed lip. You'd played this game before, you knew where this path would lead, but... your eyes flashed up to your friends. Most of them seemingly very interested in respective conversations or sabacc games, or some of them already lodged down someone's throats. Your drink had gone warm in your hand, so you downed the rest of the cocktail to block out your more logical thoughts. blah blah blah... yeah you probably should not... but this night wasn't going anywhere and you deserved some fun too.
So, you slipped into the muggy Coruscant night air and clicked the comm on, steeling your voice to sound cold even if your interest was piqued, "What do you want, Fives?"
"Hello to you, too, Beautiful." The trooper was seemingly unaffected by your cool greeting, and even without a hologram to confirm, you could imagine the shit eating grin growing on his face and you wanted to say the thought didn't make you smile as well, "Torrent Company is on planet for a couple days."
"I heard. What exactly does that have to do with me?" You scoffed, you weren't going to cave. And even if you did, you weren't going to make it easy. You heard that familiar laugh through the tiny speakers, and to keep from laughing with him, you rolled your eyes, "I'm out right now, so get to the point."
"Didn't see you at 79's." He didn't answer your question. Stars, he knew how to press your buttons. You huffed, considering hanging up on him, finger hovering over the button but instead you snarked back.
"There's other bars, Fives, and I'll have you know there's other men here, too, that are buying me drinks and talking me up." That last drink was catching up to you, and the words were tumbling out of you, partly true and partly a taunt, "Seeing you tonight, would be a bad idea right?"
"And yet you're still talking to me? Besides, I remember you always loving my terrible ideas." His voice was irritatingly smooth, ending in a gravely chuckle, and you could envision the exact smirk he wore, the glint to his eyes. The undertones that he had you right where he wanted you, he wanted you and knew you wanted him. His taunt worked better and it was infuriating.
"Ugh!" Your little outburst, complete with a stamp of your heeled foot, was somewhere between a growl and a whine, "I knew this was a bad idea."
Fives only laughed some more, the last thing you heard before you ended the transmission and stomped back into the bar. You tried, really tried, to get back into the headspace. You flirted and took drinks that were bought for you, let someone run hands down your back and dance with you, but Fives's laughter and words played through your head like an annoyingly catchy song.
It was as the burn of another shot slid down your throat, that your wrist buzzed again. This time you were grateful that you were sitting at the bar as a picture popped up- a piled of familiar blue painted armor in a corner by a GAR bunk, an open bottle of Pantoran wine in the background of the shot. Under the photo, with no other words but new room assignments. Curious... new bunk. The photo was obscured by the countertop so your friends couldn't see, and you weren't proud about how long you stared at the holo-pic trying to pick apart any details you could. When you looked up, the man you'd been flirting with for the last hour was gone, flirting with a tall trandoshan woman who was way more into the attention than you had been. Sighing, you flagged the bartender for another shot as typed and erased a coupled different responses. Flirty remarks, harsh refusals, prying questions... Nothing sounded quite right, so you closed the holochat in favor of downing the liquor placed in front of you.
Fact: He was your ex. But, things had obviously changed, it'd been months and during war time, so much can change so fast. Can't two people reconnect? Even before you were together, you'd been friends first, right? Surely, a friend could visit another friend... late at night, in a pretty little outfit... after a few drinks. You could be just friends, right? Even after the shots multiple kinds of liquor, you could hear the lie you were telling yourself. But you peeked at the picture again, remembering all the other times you'd seen his armor discarded like that and all the contradictory voices went silent.
Fuck it, it's fine.
It was embarrassing how fast you flagged a cab, not even bothering to tell your friends lest they figure out where you were heading. You knew you'd get scolded in the group chat for wrecking plans, and that you should probably turn around and stop, but the you'd made up your mind. It was also embarrassing traipsing through the GAR barracks (your workplace come morning) in the sparkly ensemble you'd picked for the night on the town, fortunately any troopers that would have had the off time to be in the barracks were out and about. As you crossed through a courtyard, you looked up to the area you were heading. And there, second floor where the semi private rooms were, leaning against the window with smug grin looking down at you approaching was Fives.
You consider turning around, walking back out and flipping him a rude hand gesture, but your legs kept pushing you forward, into the barracks and into the lift, but instead of letting your friends well timed reminders warn you offAnd when it opened, Fives was waiting there for you. From the waist down, he was still wearing his armor. New Armor, you noted, swallowing thickly. The painted leather of a new Kama swayed around his thighs, accentuated by the holster straps of duo dc-17 pistols. From the waist up, he was in his blacks. Basically a second layer of skin, the material left little to the imagination as it stretched over his chest and across his broad shoulders. He'd taken off the gloves and pushed the sleeves half way up his muscled forearms. Fives, since you had last seen him, had updated the stick and poke tattoo on his temple to an actual temple and cut his hair accordingly, even his beard had been trimmed up nicer than before.
You were sure, positive, that at some point you'd seen someone better looking, a hotter man. Surely, you had...But for the life of you, you really couldn't recall when. Your jaw clenched, nostrils flaring slightly as you tried to come up with something to say other than, "Ahhh" or a slew of curses (Because, of course, he got hotter over the past two months because the force hated you).
"Was starting to think you weren't coming, beautiful." Fives smirked at you, and you wished you could take the credit he was facetiously giving. The little shit knew you weren't going to ignore his blatant unspoken invitation. The soldier whistled lowly, "Glad I waited though, kriff, I'd fight another five campaigns for that dress."
Heat flared to your cheeks, and to elsewhere, as you shifted self consciously on your heels. Your brain was still short circuiting, part of it reveling in his praise and the other reminding you every reason you broke up and even more reasons as to why this was a bad idea. So, even you were surprised when your voice was surprisingly cheeky, "Yeah, I heard a lot of similar sentiments tonight, this dress made me very popular."
The soldier seemed shocked at your snark, eyes first flashing in jealousy before his smirk turned to a grin, "Is that so?"
His bare hand reached up experimentally, and you knew you should pull back, prevent the contact, that it was a bad idea to let this go on, but you stayed still. Eyes fluttering shut as a warm thumb crossed across your flushed cheek, his gaze noting how you swayed a bit, the slight smudge of your makeup, and how your outfit was just slightly disheveled. With his other hand, featherish finger tips started at the peak of your shoulder trailing in a teasingly light graze down your arm before making their way down to play with your fingers, noting how they trembled slightly with anticipation. His smirk grew when your breath caught in your throat. Fives pressed a slow kiss to point of your jaw, smelling the remnants of your perfume, the slight smell of sweat from dancing, and the lingering smell of bar smoke and liquor, "I can tell."
Your eyes shot back open to glare at him, "Did you call me all the way down here just to comment on my outfit?"
"Of course not, but it'd be rude not to tell a gorgeous woman just how good she looks." He flirted shamelessly, a reminder of how you got here in the first place, leading you further into the barracks with the fingers he'd tangled into yours. He easily walked backwards, quietening the angel on your shoulder with kisses starting at your jaw and working his way down your neck. You were so engrossed in watching him, how easily he slipped back into this routine, that you barely noticed when he pulled the two of you into his quarters. The door sliding open and swallowing the two of you before swishing shut again, leaving the room in the dim orangey light of the streetlights outside the window, the light made his skin glow like coper.
Just as in the picture, the top half of his armor was piled in the corner by one of the two beds, open bottle of wine sitting on a foot locker. What the picture hadn't shown, was the ID printed on the foot locker. Not CT-5555, but ARC-5555. At the foot of the other bed was ARC-1409. ARC troopers Fives and Echo, things really had changed.
"That's new." You breathed, free hand tracing over the letters. Fives chuckled into your neck, coming up for air and to joke.
"Try not to sound so surprised, gorgeous." He breathed, nose resting against your cheek as his hands fell to your waist. You knew all clones were the same height, and he was done growing, but the way his half lidded eyes were staring down at you... seriously, had he gotten taller? His boot subtly shifted between your feet, placing one of his thighs between your own, "Without you around to distract me, had to find something to occupy myself with."
"So you became an Advanced Recon Commando trooper?" You almost laughed, of course he'd brag in such a blasé (flirty) way. And if his thumbs hadn't started rubbing devilish little circles at your hips, you would have admitted to being proud of him. He laughed again, leaning back in, his voice a teasing whisper before his kissed right at the base of your ear where you dabbed on perfume earlier.
"Impressed yet?" He teased, finally catching your lips. It was then, his lips against yours, your hips canting up against the plastoid of his armor, that it was like you'd never stopped kissing him. All those reasons you'd broken up, all the red flags, all the arguments, faded into a buzz in the back of your mind as your arms wrapped around his neck. Your reaction made him smile against your lips, pulling you even closer, once again kissing down your neck as his hands started to gently swipe the straps of your dress down your shoulders, exposing more of your décolletage. His hands went down your arms, leaving goosebumps despite his perpetual warmth, pausing at your comm unit which you suddenly noticed was vibrating erratically on your wrist, flashing through your friends' content names at an insane speed. With a mischievous look, he smoothly unclipped it before placing it in your palm. While you contemplated answering the messages, his beard scratched and blazed a trail ahead of his mouth, moving down your jaw and neck, no doubt leaving marks that would serve as a reminder of your bad ideas for days to come. The slight nip of his teeth cemented your decision. You sent the comms unit sailing onto Echo's bunk before leaning back into Fives's embrace, and as he went, he subtly guided you towards the door until your half bare back pressed against the cool durasteel of the wall. You hadn't realized how heated your skin was until you gasped at the sudden difference, nails digging into his shoulders in shock, "God, I've missed those little noises you make."
"Stars, this is a bad idea, right?" You groaned, tangling your fingers into the ends of his hair that were just long enough to start curling, his knee pressed between your legs so even the slightest movement made your breath catch. To your utter dismay, Fives stilled completely, hands freezing where they had settled at the hem line of your dress ridden up on your thighs, his lips halting their trail down to your cleavage to look up at you with sincere eyes.
"Do you want me to stop?" His voice was genuine, teasing and taunts gone, reminding you that as bad as your relationship might have been at times that he was, above all, a good guy. Such a little thing, a thing that should be basic decency, shouldn't make your lip quirk up in a smile just as genuine. You should have thought about it, really, but all your could think about was the growing heat in your very core, the way you slotted together perfectly, and the way that even after all the drama no one knew exactly how to press your buttons quite like Fives did. Still, his ego didn't need to hear those sentiments so you let your head drop to his shoulder, nose prodding at the neckline of his blacks as you shook your head against him, rocking your hips against his armored thigh. One of his hands held your hips in place, his voice now half serious and half teasing, "Need to hear that pretty voice, mesh'la."
I should... probably... probably not, I should... probably... probably not. Your mind was flipping rapidly between ideas. Was it better to recognize this was a bad idea and still go through with it? Should you pretend you didn't know this wasn't your best decision? You were already here though... fuck it, it's fine. Which was becoming an increasingly common sentiment lately.
"Ah-" You started, cutting off the embarrassing whine his actions brought out of you, "-I don't want you to stop."
Fives just laughed quietly, catching your lips again and pressing himself further into you as his hands wandered from your thighs, up your hips, over your ribs, and across your chest. One of his skilled hands explored the fabric of your dress until he found the zipper, deftly unzipping it without unzipping the dress without even pausing the way his other hand squeezed the softest part of your thigh. Force, what were they teaching him in ARC training? You moaned into his mouth and he breathed it in like oxygen. The shimmering fabric fell into a pool around your waist, the hemline hiked above you waist, leaving the dress like a belt and your undergarments exposed. Fives pulled back for a moment, eyes roaming the skin he'd exposed like an artist looking at their favorite piece. Eyes dark and adoring as they roved your body, fingers occasionally grazing across the marks and curves that made you so you. His eyes were so intense that you had to look away, lest your bad ideas turn into the wrong ideas. You were done and through, this was a one time thing... right?
With his stare just long enough to make you squirm, you hardened your resolve, hooking your fingers under his belt and using the grip to pull him back into you once again. Not as deftly as his zipper skills, but you managed to fairly smoothly unlatch his belt as the same time you deepened the kiss. You were rewarded with a deep groan vibrating through his chest, making your own smile turn greedy.
Fives, never one to be outdone, put both hands on your waist, easily lifting you slightly as he lifted a knee and pressed it into the wall. Your legs had no where to go other than wrapping around his unfairly slim hips. He supported most of your weight, but let a delicious amount of pressure fall onto the plastoid encasing his muscular thighs. You didn't mean to grind down like you did, nipping at his lip as you went and letting one hand wander to his hair again to tug slightly, earning another low moan at the same time you pleaded his name.
You reward was short lived though, a curt knock at the door halted the way his hands slid down your thighs. Fives groaned, slowly retracting his thigh and holding you until your legs were steady enough to lean you against the wall. The sudden change pulled a keening mewl from you, and if you weren't so lust drunk (and regular drunk) you'd be offended when Fives's hand covered your mouth. His warm palm centered over your mouth gently pressing you against the wall just out of view for when the door opened. Fives, tall and broad, used his body to take up most of the doorway, his hand over your mouth making it look like he was just leaning against the door frame. His form was the picture of relaxed, while you stood with jelly legs and clenched thighs, heaving chest and shaky breaths through your nose as your own hands flew up to cover his, gripping at his fingers like a lifeline.
"Can I help you, vod?" Fives's voice was cool, though you knew him well enough to hear the impatience there. You didn't dare turn your head, afraid that even the slightest turn of your head would alert the new comer to your presence. So, out of the corner of your eye, you stared at Fives the best you could. His side profile gave you no clue as to the visitor, but unfortunately the voice was familiar. Your already hot cheek felt like the went aflame, but the lewdness of the situation didn't escape you as you squirmed slightly.
"You Fives?" The voice- Jek... Rys maybe? Since working so much on Coruscant and so closely with the Coruscant guard, the shock troopers had become good friends of yours. Good enough that they'd heard the saga of your relationship with Fives, and were firmly on the 'keep you away from him' train. Had they not been on patrol that night, they would have been out with you making sure you didn't end up exactly where you had.
"Yeah..." Fives's voice wasn't quite hesitant as he drew out the word, "You are?"
"Jek."
Of course it was, he was the more confrontational of the two. You wondered if your friends had gotten ahold of him, sent him on the hunt for you. Fives didn't seem bothered.
"What can I do for you, Jek?"
Jek said your name like one might mention a weapon, with an underlying threat, "You know her, right?"
"We go way back." You could see Fives's grin from the corner of your vision, making you roll your eyes. Boys. The grin elicited a similar reaction from Jek if his scoff was any indication.
"You seen her around?"
Fives made an exaggerated show of leaning into the hallway and looking both directions, the action pressing you harder against the wall.
"Nope, don-" He started smugly. You smirked against his palm before turning your face, slipping two of his fingers in your mouth and running the tip of your tongue over the line where the fingers pressed together. Fives's voice cracked slightly before he smoothed it back out, "She doesn't really run with torrent company anymore."
Jek was silent for a long moment, most likely staring at Fives like the Arc trooper had grown another head before forcing an edge to his already gruff demeanor, "Good, you should keep it that way. Stay away from her."
Fives's fingers pulled from your mouth, now wet fingers gripping your chin just hard enough to make you gasp. Your eyes widened and stomach dropped as you went perfectly still. Had Jek heard you? Would he be able to tell it was you? Embarrassment flooded your nerves along with the exhilarating thrill of being almost caught.
"I'll keep it mind, have a good night, brother." Fives didn't skip a beat, though his lackadaisical confidence had gone cold. Jek scoffed once more before his footsteps turned and retreated. The door once again swished shut, and Fives had you wrists pinned so fast you barely registered until his eyes were only inches from yours.
"Didn't realize you'd get me in so much trouble. Maybe you are a bad idea..." He trailed off, taking your wrists in one hand and hooking them around his neck. His hands went back to their favorite resting spot at your waist, pushing the ridden up fabric finally the rest of the way down your legs so it pooled around your ankles and heels. He had followed the material, briefly kneeling at your feet and looking up at you with dark, ever mischievous eyes as he pressed a kiss to the inside of both knees, fingers kneading into the plush backside of your thighs, "I love bad ideas."
He rose quickly, meeting you lips with a ferocity that hadn't been there before. Fives, as always, was a dizzying spiral that drew you in and you stood very little chance of escaping. Especially in the heels you were wearing still. So, really was it your fault when you just tripped and fell into his bed?
---
Later, sweaty and exhausted and sated, you stretched to reach your forgotten comms link. You settled into the bunk, barely big enough for the soldier it was meant for which meant you were on your side, puzzle pieced into Five's chest with a heavy warm arm against your bare midsection keeping you in place.
You scrolled through the messages, trying to be offended that most of them guessed where you ended up. You never thought you were a liar until you texted back, "Sorry, I was asleep <3!"
You pointedly didn't mention where you'd fallen asleep or more accurately whose sheets you were tangled in. And with the aftershocks of everything Fives had done to and with you, you couldn't even hear the thoughts of what tomorrow would be like.
"Really? Your ex? Again?" Was the only response. You ran a hand through your mussed hair. You wouldn't outright lie to your friends, besides you weren't the only person to ever fall into old habits.
"Is it a crime for two people to reconnect?" You typed back, feeling Fives stretch slightly behind you, his chin nuzzling further into your neck and his thumb rubbing comforting arcs at your hip, "I only see him as a friend."
"Just a friend?" Fives's voice was gravely as he pressed a kiss against your neck, where the column of your neck met your spine before he chuckled, "Didn't know you were such a liar, beautiful."
Your stomach fluttered at the same time your brain tried to remind you just how final your last breakup had been. Still, you scooted further against him as his hand drifted lower again. Force this was a bad idea...

Lessons in Self Defense // Howzer x Reader
Summary: little blurb about how quickly a Captain’s self defense seminar can turn into something else, especially in Ryloth’s afternoon sun.
Warnings: suggestive implications nothing mentioned explicitly, not even pg13, mostly fluff
Tumblr media
"Ok, plant your foot- a little wider," Howzer paused to try to hide his grimace when your foot slid out a little too wide, which threw your balance off, "Not that wide, honey."
"Yeah, I gathered that." You snipped backed, cheeks puffing as you blew a piece of your hair out of your face before readjusting your feet. Howzer’s lip quirked up into a smirk at your sass, tapping your ankle with the toe of his boot to make you angle better.
"Better." He breathed, almost instantly dropping into a fighting position. When the captain did it, he looked graceful, powerful… dangerous. Standing across from him, trying to mirror it, you just felt… awkward, "Ok, now try to hit me."
Immediately, you dropped the stance, shaking your head, "Howzer, I’m not hitting you."
"(Y/N), the only way to learn is to practice." He reminded you for what seemed to be the hundredth time, not rising from him stance. Still, you shook your head defiantly.
"I don’t want to hurt you, Howz."
That was what made drop his stance, or at least half way as he laughed out right at you. Your cheeks flushed with heat as he laughed at you, fortunately the blistering Ryloth heat had already given you a permanent blush so he couldn’t outright read your embarrassment.
"I take it back. I’ll hit you now." You muttered as his laughter died down. As frustrated as you were with your lack of talent for fighting, it was nice to hear him laugh so loudly. Seeing your unamused deadpan, he tried to temper his amusement.
"And that’s very kind of you, honey, but I promise, you can’t hurt me." He promised you with a wink.
He seemed at ease here, in a secluded spot behind General Syndulla’s estate. Teaching, or at least attempting to teach you some basic self defense. Though you were fairly sure it was just another reason to sneak off together. His teal painted armor was piled up nearly a couple feet away, leaving him in only his blacks from the waist up. Had it been five degrees hotter, he would have discarded those too. But, you were already distracted enough as it was.
Seeing that you still weren’t crazy over the idea of actually hitting him, he sighed bemusedly, not for the first time wondering how someone like him lucked out with someone like you. This time, he back up a bit and held up both of his palms, as if expecting two high-fives.
"How about this?"
Behind his held up hands, his eyes were soft, hopeful. Howzer had always been hard to say no to. You sighed, dropping back into stance. His grin stretched, "Good girl."
You tried not to let your face betray what affect those words had on you as you held your fists up the way he showed you. Without further deliberation, you struck as he had taught you.
Right, left, right, while keeping whichever hand wasn’t striking close to guard your face.
"Just like that. Do it again, harder." He instructed. As he had said, the solid contact did feel good- made you feel powerful even if Howzer didn’t budge. He grinned at your excited smile.
So, you did it again, hurling your fist harder, and then again. He had wrapped your knuckles earlier, doing it painstakingly slowly with enough suggestive eye contact that you had almost forgot about training, but now you were glad he did. Even with the extra layer, your hands and wrists already ached- a dull throbbing shooting up your bones. But his encouragement kept you going until you were sweating.
When he could tell your hits were getting softer and shakier, he took a step back on purpose. Being so in the zone, you didn’t realize until your fist missed its mark and you had no choice but to follow it’s momentum. Straight into Howzer’s chest.
The captain, of course, caught you easily, twisting you around so your back pressed to his chest. His larger arms were wrapped around your midsection, hips flush to yours as his breathe fanned over your neck, "Now break this hold, just like a showed you."
Unfortunately, he had shown you that move right after taking off his armor. You had been throughly distracted by his blacks instead of paying attention. But you had other ideas- he might be a soldier, but he was also a man.
"What if I don’t want to?" You whispered back, leaning into the hold instead of fighting against it. You felt Howzer stiffen behind you as he processed what you said.
"Oh. Oh."
He cleared his throat, his grip adjusting so it was less tactile and more… fitting for the situation. "In that case, we can move on to…"
In that moment, you seized the opportunity to drop to the ground, breaking away from him before he could register. When you rose from the dusty ground and flashed him a victorious smile, his face went from flushed to unamused understanding.
"That was a dirty move, honey." He scolded you, taking a step forward with a look on his face that you knew all too well. Your victorious smiled turned to a cheeky grin, knowing exactly what the darkening, predatory look in his eyes meant for you. You took a couple of timid steps back, feeling the familiar twist in your stomach as he matched your movement.
"All’s fair in love and war?"

Healing Touch
Summary: It's ironic that your soulmate would be the one to save your life after sharing a pain connection with him. After the base you work at is attacked, you meet your soulmate, a loyal, dedicated clone who is willing to do anything to keep you two together.
Pairing: Kix x reader Soulmate AU
Warnings: NSFW, smut, p in v sex, unprotected sex, Kix is a freak, cum eating, oral, lots of discussion of pain and injuries, reader gets a really bad injury, life threatening injuries, blood, brief gore, medical stuff, soulmate AU, bad jokes.
A/N: I kinda hate this one but here you go. A surprise update to this series. I feel bad about not posting anything in a bit so I wrote some stuff. Also kind of inspired by a thread about friends of nurses who say they're a bunch of freaks. I'll let that speak for itself.
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Pain is nothing new to Kix.
Though he’s usually the one treating others in pain, he’s had his fair share of injuries as well. Being in active combat had its risks, and he often witnessed them firsthand. He was also used to phantom pains that seemed to plague him every so often. Pain in his fingers and hands, like burns or the dull ache after pinching your finger between something. There were occasional deeper pains and aches, but after the war started it got harder and harder to determine which ones were his and which weren’t.
His soulmate link, he had figured out quickly after a panicked scan to make sure he wasn’t injured, or perhaps defective and suffering from some ailment they were supposed to be immune to.
It was ironic, really, that his soulmate link would be pain. Each soulmate feels the phantom pain of the others injuries. Though he had avoided some nasty injuries, he still feels bad for his soulmate. Not that they weren’t also constantly getting hurt as well, but theirs were more small pains than anything. In the rare moments when he wasn’t busy, he liked to try and picture what had happened, what they could be doing.
It’s what keeps him sane when the missions get bad, when they go wrong, when he has to look past his brothers' suffering as he tries to save them.
He often worries in the dead of night. What if something happens to his soulmate? Are they involved in the war? What if their planet gets attacked and no one’s there to help? Sometimes he lays there and waits for the inevitable excruciating pain of a fatal wound, or the blinding pain of losing his soulmate. He worries about something happening to him as well. He doesn’t want to do that to his soulmate. He’d watched far too many troopers die, far too many leaving their soulmates without ever having the chance to meet them.
It happens one day, when his worst nightmares come to life.
They had just finished a hard won campaign against the Separatists and Kix was still hard at work in the med-bay patching up those who were less severely injured. It takes him a moment to realize what’s happening, a strange feeling blossoming in his right side below his ribs.
Then the pain hits him.
He doubles over, barely catching himself on the gurney Fives was seated on.
“Kix,” Fives puts a hand on his shoulder. “You alright?”
Kix grits his teeth, trying to breathe through the sharp, stabbing pain in his right side. Had he been injured and not noticed until now as his adrenaline begins to crash? He can’t feel anything on his side, no wound, no blood, nothing. Had he taken a hit and not noticed?
“Come on,” Fives says, slipping an arm around his shoulders. “You don’t look too good.”
He was supposed to be checking Fives for a concussion, but instead here he is being escorted onto an empty gurney by his patient. A droid runs a scan, checking everything but there’s nothing. Still, the pain burns through him, sharp and stabbing with every breath in.
It’s not him.
It’s his soulmate.
Many things begin to rush through his head. Had something happened? Is it some sort of organ failure, perhaps? With the pain where it is, it could be any number of things. An injury? Illness? Are they getting help? Can they get help?
A comforting hand on his shoulder brings him back from his racing thoughts. Fives knows. Most of the squad knows. They trusted each other on the battlefield, and with their deepest secrets. He presses his hand into his side, taking a deep breath. He wishes he could ease the pain even a little.
The doors slide open, Rex stepping in.
“Kix, Fives, we need every able bodied trooper ready for a debrief in ten minutes.” He says.
“What’s going on?” Fives asks. “We just finished a campaign.”
“We’re being rerouted.” Rex says. “There was an attack on a base nearby. They need as many hands as they can get.”
Kix tries not to let his thoughts take over as he rouses every physically able trooper. He can’t think about his soulmate right now. He has a job to do.
***
Kix’s hands are shaking. He rarely lets himself get affected by the injuries he sees. He’s seen a lot, he has been trained to see a lot. Combat medics see the worst of things, and they weren’t supposed to break. They had to be prepared for anything. Calm under intense pressure, stable enough to be quick thinkers and ready to take charge if needed.
The carnage left from the attack is some of the worst he’s seen.
These weren’t just clones.
There are civilians.
Most of them are civilians. Engineers and mechanics employed by the GAR. Clone armor wasn’t impenetrable, but it offered a lot of protection against injuries and wounds. He’d seen clones survive what should have been a fatal shot because of their armor. Civilians don’t have armor. Most of them don’t see combat so there was no point to them wearing armor. Most of them stayed on bases, safe from the danger of combat.
At least, the bases are supposed to be safe.
The 18th Battalion had arrived shortly before them and had already begun locating and treating survivors. They were already working to stabilize those in the worst condition to shuttle them to the cruisers to get more intensive care.
There’s still civilians inside.
Most of the troopers were working their way through the ruins of the base, searching for more survivors. Most of them had been accounted for. Either managing to escape harm, or were already being treated. There were still many that were still missing. Kix knows trying to find all of them is impossible, but they had confirmed areas where there were injured civilians still, or they had heard voices calling out for help.
“This thing could collapse any minute.” Crash says as the mangled roof groans dangerously above them.
“There’s one right up ahead.” Kix says, staring at the map.
Something falls off in the distance, the crash echoing through the air before it settles. Both troopers share a look before pressing forward, stepping carefully. Kix’s side still aches, pain still burning through him, but he pushes onward. He has a job to do. He can only hope his soulmate is alright.
There’s nothing he can do to help.
He moves forward with Crash, stepping around a piece of collapsed roof. The civilian marked on the map is right there, sitting against a piece of still-intact wall. It doesn’t take Kix long to figure out why no one has helped her yet. A piece of rebar has impaled her through her right side.
She’s still awake, wide eyed and breathing shallowly. One look at her eyes tells Kix she’s in shock. She’s soaked in sweat and pale, blood staining her light blue shirt. He kneels down in front of her, taking a quick scan. She’s uninjured aside from the rebar, which has gone straight through her and into the wall behind her.
“What’s your name?” He asks her.
She tells him, her voice weak and shaky.
“We’re going to get you out of here.” He says, the pain in his side increasing as Crash moves her just slightly to check how stuck the rebar is in the wall.
His eyes widen beneath his helmet and he stares at her for a moment. Where the rebar is in her side is almost exactly where the pain is on his side. It couldn’t be...could it?
“There’s no way of moving her without removing it.” Crash says.
Kix sighs. He knows moving her at all is going to be excruciating. He takes a second to assess things and calm himself before doing what he does best and takes charge. “We can’t risk removing it. She’ll bleed out before we can get her out of here. Is there enough room to cut it back there?”
“Barely.” Crash says. “It’ll be close.”
“We have to try.” Kix says.
Kix kneels in front of her, bending her top half forward just slightly, until he can feel the pain of the rebar moving inside of her. He lets her rest against his shoulder, her hands weakly lifting to cling to his arms as Crash cuts through the rebar behind her.
He doesn’t need to guess to know how much pain she’s in. He can feel it. He has no doubt he’s right in front of his soulmate. Oh how he wishes they’d met in a different way. It was ironic, though, that he’d be the one saving his soulmate’s life. He’s determined to do everything in his power to save her.
She cries out as the rebar jostles free, pain radiating through Kix as well. He breathes steadily, trying to comfort her as best he can. The pain begins to numb, her hands slipping from his arms. He pushes her so she’s sitting up slightly, hands cupping her cheeks.
“Hey,” He pats her face gently, her eyes fluttering. “Stay with me.”
Her eyes flutter before they crack open, staring at him blankly. He takes in their color, trying to memorize her face.
“Let's get her on the stretcher and onto a shuttle.” Kix says, forcing himself back into his roll. He needs to get her into a surgical pod sooner rather than later.
Navigating the building is hard as they carry the stretcher, Crash talking to her to try and keep her awake. He can barely hear her responses, and later Crash would tell him she was speaking nonsense. He’s not entirely sure she even knew what was happening.
They get her loaded onto a shuttle, Kix having to watch it fly away the hardest thing he’s had to do. He wanted to be there, wanted to stay by her side, wanted to make sure she was going to be alright, that they got to her in time. He would know if she died, if he had failed.
He shakes those thoughts from his mind, jumping back in to help the other injured civilians.
***
Your head is throbbing when you wake. You feel like you’ve swallowed sand, your mouth and throat dry and aching. There’s beeping around you, and a harsh sterile scent burns your nose. Something flashes behind your eyes and you force them open, blinking against the bright lights.
Something presses against your shoulders, keeping you still as you try to shift into a more comfortable position. Pain shoots through your right side, stealing your breath for a moment.
“Easy.” A voice says above you. You know that voice. “Didn’t think you’d be up so soon.”
You blink blearily up at the figure standing over you. Your vision is still blurry, your mind trying to catch up. You’re disoriented, feeling far away from your body.
“Here,” Something cold and wet touches your lips. “Drink.”
You drink through the straw, cold water hitting your dry mouth. You drink greedily, feeling refreshed as the sandy feeling in your mouth begins to disappear.
“Bacta makes my mouth feel dry too.”
You turn your head to look at the person standing next to you. He’s a clone, you can tell that much as your vision begins to clear. That’s why you recognize his voice. You’re no stranger to clones after working for the GAR for two years.
You press the heel of your hand into your forehead, closing your eyes. “Where am I?” You murmur, not even sure actual words come out.
“On a cruiser, heading for a medical station. Do you remember what happened?” He asks slowly.
You think for a moment. Do you remember? “It was a normal day at work.” You start, walking yourself through your day. “I was working on an attack shuttle. I had gone to grab a different tool when...” Horrible images flash through your mind. You remember being thrown, heat washing over you. Something hitting you, or you hitting something. Pain. You remember pain.
Something beeps rapidly beside you, the clone putting a hand on your shoulder. “It’s alright. The base was attacked.” He explains. “You were injured badly. I was one of the ones that got you out. I wanted to come and check, make sure you were alright.”
You stare at him, taking him in. His head is buzzed, lightning bolts shaved into the short buzzed hair. There’s a tattoo on the side of his head, but you can’t see all of it from this angle. He’s handsome, as you thought most clones were. His armor is painted blue with the medic’s symbol on his shoulder.
“Thank you.” You say, staring up into his brown eyes. “For saving me.”
He smiles softly, running a hand over his head. “Well, it is my job. And I wasn’t about to let anything happen to my soulmate.”
You stare at him blankly, taking in his words. Soulmate?
“You have a pain link, right?” He asks, looking so hopeful.
You nod slowly, still trying to process his words. You had tried not to think too much about your soulmate. Your link had appeared later than you expected, little pains here and there, that blossomed into harsher ones more often. You wondered about your soulmate and if they were alright, until the war started. You had heard about people discovering their soulmates were clones and that’s why their links had shown up later.
You haven't put much thought into it. You were destined to meet eventually, and you trusted it would happen. You had been more focused on leaving home, on building your career.
He grabs a small needle pulling off his glove before pricking his finger with it. You feel the sharp pinch on your own finger, lifting your hand to stare at it.
Nothing.
No mark.
No blood.
You let your hand drop slowly, looking up at him with wide eyes.
“My name’s Kix.” He says. “Medic with the 501st Legion.”
You tell him your name, introducing yourself with your status as a civilian engineer.
“I didn’t think this was how we were going to meet.” He says. “I’ve been waiting for this for a while.”
You nod, swallowing the lump in your throat. You knew about clones, about the rules around soulmates. That’s partially why you refused to think too much about it. You don’t want to be rejected. You’re not sure you can handle that. “A-Aren’t you supposed to-”
“Technically.” He says, cutting you off with a grin. “Most of us don’t follow those rules.”
You stare at him for a moment. “But...”
“If all of us followed every rule, we probably would have lost the war already.” He leans against the side of the bed. “There’d be a lot fewer of us, anyway.”
Your brain feels like it's moving in slow motion. “So...you’re not going to reject me?”
He smiles, shaking his head. “No. Not unless you want me to.”
You shake your head. “No, no. I just...didn’t expect...”
“I know it’s a lot. Especially after what just happened.” Kix says. “I just wanted you to know since we’ll be leaving after everyone’s offloaded at the medical station. I didn’t want to miss this chance in case we don’t cross paths again.”
Right. Their only job was getting you to the medical station. They still had a war to fight, so naturally they’d be leaving off to their next battle. You’re not sure where you’re going to end up now that the base you had been stationed at is gone. The chances of you two crossing paths again is slim, but you were soulmates for a reason.
You take his bare hand, squeezing it gently. You can feel it, the flow of energy between you two. His calloused fingers wrap around yours, and you try to memorize just how his skin feels against yours. “We’ll meet again.” You say, staring at your hands. “We are soulmates after all.”
He smiles, stroking the back of your hand with his thumb. “You’re right. I just hope it’s under better circumstances.”
You can’t help but smile. “I hope so too. I’d be happy if I never had to go through that again.”
***
Your name is called as you make your way down the hallway.
After your brief stay at the medical station, you had been sent back to Coruscant to the GAR headquarters to await reassignment. You assumed you’d be staying on Coruscant, since the war was heating up and a bunch of dead civilian workers wasn’t exactly a good look.
You turn, one of the lead engineers walking up to you.
“I have your orders for your reassignment.” She says, handing you a datapad. “You’re loading up with the 501st when they arrive.”
“The 501st?” Your eyebrows lift in surprise.
“I hear they asked for you directly.” She says.
Your brows furrow. Kix was assigned to the 501st. Had he managed to pull some strings without giving anything away? You couldn’t risk revealing anything, not with the GAR directly involved. So how had he done it?
They arrive a few hours later. You’re patiently waiting on the airfield among crates of supplies to be loaded on. The venator cruiser kicks up a breeze as it lands, truly an engineering marvel. A huge floating city, capable of housing thousands. Ships weren’t your specialty, but you often found yourself working on their communication systems. You had been fixing one in a shuttle when the base was attacked.
You wait for the offloading of troops and supplies, heading into the ship as troopers begin moving supplies on. You look around the hangar, likely where you’ll spend most of your time. Shuttles and cruisers, and all other sorts of vehicles.
You eventually find the lead engineer, getting a tour and introduction to the cruiser. You had only been on one briefly, most of your knowledge about them being learned virtually during training. You had spent more time learning about the clone’s armor and how to fix any sort of malfunction or damage that may be caused. The functionality of their armor is essential, especially their helmets.
You’re eager to see Kix again. You want to know just how he’d managed to get you assigned to his battalion. You can’t be conspicuous, though. Even at this proximity, you still have to be careful. If the wrong person found out, it would spell disaster for both of you.
You’re checking through one of the supply rooms when he finds you. Your first task with the 501st had been to restock and organize the supplies getting loaded onto the ship. It was a typical task for a newbie, since you’d need to learn the layout of the supply room and where things are located in case you need them in a pinch.
“Hello, mesh’la.”
You nearly jump out of your skin as the deep voice breaks the silence of the supply closet. You spin around, finding Kix leaning against one of the shelves behind you. You hadn’t even heard him come in. That was precisely why you weren’t a soldier.
“Kix!” You put a hand on your chest. “You scared me!”
He grins. “Sorry. Thought you heard me come in.”
You shake your head. “I was too focused, I guess.”
“It’s good to see you.” He says, stepping closer. “I missed you.”
It has been a few weeks since you’ve seen him. You’ve missed him too. You’d felt it, the longing deep in your soul for its other half. The distance, the lack of contact had begun to eat at you. It’s easing now with him so close. Even though you’ve just been reunited, your entire body is already relaxing.
“I missed you too.” You say, stepping closer to him.
He pushes the cart out of the way, stepping up right in front of you. You stare up at him, his fingers grazing over your side. “How do you feel?”
“Completely healed.” You say with a smile. “Hardly more than a scar left.”
“Good.” He says, wrapping his arms around you. You’ve never been this close to him before, but it feels right. “I hated feeling you in pain.”
“I hated being in pain.” You reply, wrapping your arms around his neck. “Though, whatever you did to your foot a week ago, that sucked.”
He grins sheepishly. “Would you believe me if I told you that was a box of medical supplies?”
You stare at him for a moment. “No.”
He chuckles. “I’ll tell you about it later.” He leans down, resting his forehead against yours. “I’m just glad you’re here.”
“Yeah, how did you manage to get me assigned to the 501st?” You ask, pulling away slightly.
He lifts a hand, rubbing the back of his head. “Well, I may have told Rex and had him put in a special request.”
You stare at him wide eyed.
“Don’t worry,” He tries to ease your concern. “He’s not going to say anything. None of them are.”
“What did you do, tell the whole squad?” You ask.
“The whole platoon, actually.” He says sheepishly.
“You were the one that said we had to be careful.” You punch his shoulder, the plastoid harder than you expected it to be.
“I think that hurt you more than me.” He says, taking your hand and inspecting your sore knuckles. “But don’t worry. No one’s going to say anything. We’ve all been sworn to secrecy about each other’s soulmates. It’s a sort of unspoken law among clones.”
“That’s sweet.” You say, captivated by his fingers as they gently massage your hand.
“I’ll introduce you tonight during third meal.” He says. “When everyone’s back on board.”
“Yeah, shouldn’t you be out enjoying your shore leave?” You ask.
“I wanted to see you.” He says.
You stare up at his face, at those big brown eyes. “You’re being all sweet on me now, making me nervous.”
“Don’t be nervous.” He soothes, wrapping his arms back around your waist. “I’m just a goofy guy who's never really talked to a woman before outside of a professional setting.”
You stare at him open mouthed. “You’ve never...”
He shrugs. “Never really wanted to.”
You lean against his chest, wrapping your arms around him. “Well, you’re doing a good job.”
He chuckles, the sound deep in his chest. “Thanks.” He holds you for a few moments before letting you go. “I’ll come by the lab and show you around later, okay?”
You nod, a smile tugging at your lips. “Okay.”
He swoops down, kissing your cheek before leaving you a bit flustered in the supply closet.
***
Despite how close you two are, you barely get to see Kix. With the 501st constantly on the move, constantly going from one campaign to the next, you’re very busy and so is Kix. You mostly see each other in passing, or in the mess hall, or occasionally in a stolen moment in a supply closet. You only see him in the med bay twice, there usually for burns on your fingers, things you’ve become almost numb to in your years of working as a mechanic and engineer.
You finally get a quiet moment to yourselves on a long journey from one side of the galaxy to the other. Well, it wasn’t exactly that far, but it was a long trip. You’re glad for the break, and glad for the quiet moment you get to spend with Kix.
He tells you to meet him in the barracks, a place you hadn’t really explored much. You weren’t really supposed to go into the clone barracks, especially as a civilian unless it was an emergency.
This was an emergency, you were about to go crazy from the longing to be close to him again. The GAR wouldn’t see it that way though.
You’re extra careful, slipping in quickly as he waves you over from the door. It’s empty besides the two of you, Kix leading you over to his bunk.
“How’d you get everyone to leave?” You ask, laying down and stretching out. They’re not any more comfortable than the civilian bunks.
“I may have promised to buy the boys a couple extra rounds on our next shore leave.” He says, stretching himself out next to you. He’s stripped from his armor, left in his blacks.
“Another unspoken clone law?” You ask, tracing your fingers over the muscles visible under the tight bodysuit.
“Well, they know why I’m doing it.” He says, his hand settling on your waist. “I just figured you’d prefer some quiet privacy. They’d pretend to ignore us, but they’d be listening the whole time.”
You hum, kissing him softly. “Then I thank you for your sacrifice of a couple rounds.”
He grins against your lips, pulling you closer against his chest. “Just doing my duty, ma’am.”
You pause for a moment, a tingle running down your spine as he calls you “ma’am.” You’ll have to lock that one away for later. He pulls you back to him, kissing you harder. You lose yourself in him, letting all of the stress and fear and emotions over the last few weeks go. You worried about Kix, every time they left on a campaign. You monitored comms as often as you could, for more than just your job of making sure everything was functioning. You waited anxiously to hear that Kix is alright, that he’s still alive and well.
“How long do we have?” You murmur against his lips as he rolls you onto your back, settling on top of you.
“An hour or so.” He says, lips leaving your lips to kiss down your jaw.
“Is that going to be enough time?” You ask.
He smirks against your neck, nipping at the skin. “I’ll make you cum at least twice before then.”
You smirk, lifting your arms as he tugs your shirt over your head. “Is that a challenge?”
“No,” He smirks, hands cupping your breasts. “It’s a promise.”
You gasp as his lips close around one of your nipples, tugging it gently with his teeth. You’re already wet, your underwear sticking uncomfortably to you. You can feel him pressed up against your thigh, painfully hard through his blacks. You’ve both been waiting for this, eagerly anticipating this moment. You wish you had all the time in the world to do this, but you’re lucky enough to even get an hour of privacy together.
You can’t wait for this war to be over with.
He continues his kisses down your stomach, tugging your pants and underwear down. You let your legs fall open for him, his eyes staring hungrily at your soaked pussy. Your cheeks warm a bit as he stares at you, his eyes dark and lust-blown. His hands hold your thighs as he leans in, licking a stripe along your slit. You gasp at the sensation, his tongue dragging over your clit.
You have to be careful not to make too much noise. Anyone walking past could hear, and with your luck it would be the wrong person. You’d get in so much trouble, both of you.
You press a hand over your mouth as he dives right in, eating you like a man starved. He was, in a way. You had put this off far too long. You’d snuck a hand into your panties in the dead of night a few times while thinking of him, trying to take the edge off as you waited for the opportune moment.
Nothing compared to the feel of him, though.
His tongue thrusts into you, licking at your walls as his nose presses against your clit. You curse behind your hand, your other hand gripping the sheets under you.
It doesn’t take you long to cum, his tongue lapping up every last bit of your orgasm. You’re close to overstimulated when he finally pulls away, face glistening in the low light of the barracks. You drag him up, kissing him deeply. He groans against your mouth, hips pressing against yours.
You break the kiss to tug his blacks over his head, your hands trailing down his chest, feeling every ridge of muscle. Your fingers trace every little scar, every little mark. He tugs his pants down, kicking them off the end of the bed and your fingers continue lower, wrapping around his thick length.
He presses his face into your neck, groaning as you work your hand over him. “Kriff, you feel so good.” He murmurs. “Better than I ever could.”
You smile, parting your legs a bit so he can settle between them. “Isn’t that the point.”
He leans up on his elbows over you, staring down at you. “You’re going to ruin me forever.”
“That’s my job.” You say, lining him up.
You bury your face in his shoulder as he eases into you, moving slowly. It’s a stretch, far bigger than you had anticipated. He pauses once he’s seated inside you, making you feel full and connected. You can feel it, the connection building between you two. There was no going back now.
He slowly begins to rock his hips, holding onto you. You wrap your arms and legs around him, pulling him as close as you can. You can feel him deep in your very soul, the connection between you two solidifying. You’re two halves of one whole, one soul shared between two bodies. This was what you were meant for, not what the GAR forced you to do, hiding and keeping secrets.
You wish the war would end. You wish you could steal him away, live a happy life somewhere free of war, free of the GAR, free of everything. A life happy together, where nothing has to be a secret, and you can take as much time as possible. Where you can shout your love for him as loud as you want.
You use his shoulder to muffle your moans, his own groans muffled by your neck. You move seamlessly, meeting his thrusts. You’re already close again, the tautness of his body telling you he’s close too.
“Cum for me.” He whispers, hitting that spot inside you over and over again. “Let me feel you.”
You cum around him, nails digging into his back. He cums with a groan, emptying inside you. You lay still for a moment, simply breathing each other in.
Kix leans up, kissing your lips before sliding down your body. You watch, leaning up a bit as he settles between your thighs once more. You can feel his cum starting to leak out of you, Kix watching for a moment before he leans in, closing his mouth around your pussy. You breathe out a curse, flopping back on the bed as he cleans you with his mouth. It’s unexpected and obscene as he slurps at your pussy, your skin burning.
You can feel it, another orgasm approaching. You bite into the skin of your arm, keeping yourself quiet as he sucks at your clit, forcing you over the edge a third time.
He laps at your folds for a few more seconds before sliding back up your body, gently tugging your arm free from your mouth. He soothes over the mark with his fingers. “You’ll want to clean that.” He says, so easily switching into medic mode. “Human bites can be very dangerous.”
You roll your eyes. “Yes, doctor.”
He pauses, eyes widening as he stares down at you. You file that away too. He leans down, pressing a gentle kiss to your lips. “I kept my promise.”
You laugh against his lips. “You did. And a bonus.”
“I did say ‘at least twice’.” He says, sitting up on the bed. “I’d make it a lot more than that if we had time.”
You grin, sitting up next to him. “Save that for the next shore leave.”
He smirks, patting your ass as you move to grab your discarded clothes. You wash up in the fresher, trying to make yourself appear like you hadn’t just been fucking a clone in the barracks. Kix puts his armor back on, checking both ways before you step out of the barracks.
You walk closely, wishing you could hold his hand, but you know you can’t. You silently curse the GAR and their stupid rules. You can’t wait for this war to be over.
You’re so close to the elevator when your names are called from down the hall, both of you freezing. You turn, eyes widening a bit at the sight of General Skywalker approaching.
“G-General.” Kix says, standing up straighter.
General Skywalker looks between you, crossing his arms. “What are you two up to?”
“I was, uh, having some calibration issues with my helmet.” Kix quickly lies.
“Uh huh. And you had to fix that in the barracks?” General Skywalker asks, crossing his arms.
“Well, I needed to make sure it would connect with the others, and it was easier to just check it where they all were gathered, instead of disturbing them and making them come down to the lab.” You nervously explain. You know he doesn’t believe you. You’re absolutely screwed.
“Right.” The General nods. “That’s very thoughtful of you, not wanting to disturb them.”
“Yeah,” You nod. “They work so hard, they need all the rest they can get.”
“I still have some work to do, so we were heading to the mess to grab some caf.” Kix says, trying to explain why you were now leaving together.
“Very busy.” You nod, trying to make it as believable as possible.
The General looks between you two for a moment before nodding. “Then I should let you get back to it.”
You don’t relax, even as you turn to continue down the hall. Your shoulders are still tense, nerves running high. You had tried so hard not to get caught, and then here you were, getting caught by the General of all people.
“You know,” The General says, making you two stop dead in your tracks. “That’s not a bad excuse.” You both turn, looking over your shoulders at the General. “I might have to use that some day.”
