Hybristophilia, is a paraphilia in which people experience sexual arousal on thoughts of having sex with murderers and serial killers. It has been noted almost exclusively in women, making it unlike most other paraphilias.

It can also be viewed as a fetish; many notorious serial killers have received their fair share of hybristophiliac ‘fans’. Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer were among those who had these woman appearing in court for their trials confessing their love for them. Richard Ramirez went on to marry Doreen Lioy, a woman who became obsessed with him after discovering him through his infamous crimes.

The Dnepropetrovsk maniacs are the men responsible for a string of murders in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine, back in 2007. The case received immense notoriety due to the killers filming majority of the murders. These videos were found on the mobile phones of the suspects during the trial, the most popular now so named ‘Three Guys One Hammer’, the film shows the three men murdering 48-year-old Sergei Yatzenkno in the woods with a hammer, as well as other tools including a screwdriver.

A few photographs were also found in the suspect’s possession, including photographs of them attending victim’s funerals and 'flipping off’ the tombstones. Evidence of animal abuse was also shown in court, using pictures of the suspect’s posing alongside mutilated animal corpses.

The men; Viktor Sayenko and Igor Suprunyuck were ultimately convicted of 21 murders and both sentenced to life imprisonment, a third conspirator, Alexander Hanzha, was found guilty of participating in two armed robberies prior to the murders and was sentenced to nine years in prison.

The Hungarian settlement of Sződliget is often called “Witch Village” due to it’s eerie atmosphere. It is a small waterside town with only a couple of inhabitants, and fog gathers on the lake most nights.

Luka Magnotta pictured with a puppy that was later found dead in the garbage, alongside the dismembered body parts of his victim Jun Lin. Luka had filmed himself brutally stabbing and dismembering Jun, and getting the puppy as shown in the photo to chew on his body.

Cannibal Clan - Sawney Bean.

Bean, who allegedly resided in a secret cave in Western Scotland, is believed to have began an incestuous family with his wife in the 20th Century.

The family are believed to have ambushed, kidnapped and tortured travellers roaming the west coast. The Bean's are known to have dismembered their victims and eat them. As the legend goes, body parts of their victims which couldn't be finished were often found washed up on Scotland's West Coast.

Whether the story is mythical or historical is still debated, but nonetheless stood as inspiration being the 1977 horror movie The Hills Have Eyes.
