I’m Done...
Hi everyone.
So, the last time I really updated this blog was over the summer, in June or July or something and I said I’d come back in August. Well, it’s now October and I still haven’t come back or anything. I haven’t been acknowledging my blog at all, really. I’ve gotten on here once or twice to answer some asks, but that’s it.
Should I start by saying I’ve been a lot happier since I’ve stopped being active here?
I don’t know what it is, but it’s true. I started this studyblr in the summer of 2017 because I hadn’t been doing well in school and I thought this might help me out a little bit. Give me some motivation or something. And I thought it was helping me out, because I did better in school last year and got accepted into the college I wanted to transfer to. I attributed all of this to my studyblr, and that’s really not fair to me, especially now that, looking back, it had absolutely NOTHING to do with this at all.
Since I’ve been on here I haven’t felt like part of the community at all. At all. And that was kind of unhealthy for me, because I was always trying so hard to feel welcome and part of it all. I was focused on that and not my work. And honestly, this community isn’t very... healthy? I don’t know how to word it. The only people who get a decent following are those who use the ridiculously priced notebooks and pens and highlighters, and that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. And the advice a lot of these people always give to newbies is that, oh, you don’t need this stuff to do a studyblr! Which is true, you don’t. But obviously that’s what gets you into this little exclusive club of studyblrs that all communicate and be friends and get attention and everything. I don’t know.
I know how petty that sounds, but that’s been my experience. Sorry if you disagree or if you’re offended or if you’ve had a different experience.
I’m at the point where I don’t really care about this community anymore, because it’s done nothing for me whatsoever. Even attempting to be a part of the community has done nothing for me. Ultimately there was no point to even trying here; I put in the hard work to get where I need to be because I knew it had to be done, I had no other options, and I wanted to be proud of myself and I wanted my family to be proud and I wanted to get what I wanted and where I wanted to be. This community did nothing for me in this regard; if anything it made it harder, because I felt like I had to try so hard to get any notes on a post or to get any asks answered or to even make friends.
This is my goodbye post. I’ve decided to make my own official blog with Wordpress, about reviewing books and my life and self-care. I’m not going to link it here because this post isn’t very positive and, quite honestly, it probably wouldn’t matter if I did anyway. But I don’t want to risk anyone coming onto my blog and continuing this conversation I may have started (or at least gotten involved in) here and plan on leaving here when I leave. I’m not going to continue this conversation anymore because I’m leaving it all behind here.
I’m happy with my new blog, I’m happy with my social channels and my new situation as a whole. The studyblr community, to me, feels a lot like how my old college felt to me. And my whole new situation feels to me how my new college feels. So I’m ready to leave this negative situation behind, along with my past college, and start anew. So cheesy. But true. There’s nothing here for me anymore (never really was) and this just brings up negative energy I don’t need.
If this community helps you be a better student, then great. I’m not only happy for you, but proud of you as well. But just for shits and giggles, take a closer look for a second. Because I was under the impression for a long time that this community, this outlet, this platform was helping me stay accountable and motivating me. I was under this impression because that’s what everyone else was saying, and that’s what I was told would happen, and I wanted it to be true. But upon further inspection, this community, this outlet, this platform feels negative and brings me bad energy and stress over how many notes a post is going to get and I focused on good pictures and content instead of the actual act of studying. I did well because of myself, and my blog did nothing for me. So take a closer look. Is this really helping you? Or do you just want that to be the case?
With that being said, I feel a lot better leaving. I’ve gotten everything off my chest that I needed to, and I hope my followers can respect that. Which does lead me to my followers. If you’ve made it through this far, I appreciate that. I’m not bashing you guys. I want to thank you for even following me at all, a lot of you for interacting with me when you did. It’s been fun with you guys. If you’re at all sad I’m leaving, which I doubt, then I’m sorry.
So goodbye studyblr. And thank you for allowing me this super long and probably more dramatic than it needed to be exit.

Hello, I'm an English language and literature student and this is my 2nd year, I'm a Turkish girl living in Turkey and I want to develop my English basically but I don't have much source or methods. Can you advise me some? ♥
I’m definitely not an expert on this because I speak English as a first language. Advice I’ve seen given to others is to use language learning apps like Duolingo. You could also look for books, poems, or any form of writing to read OR watch movies and listen to music in English. That probably works best if you can basically quote the stuff though.Again, I don’t know much about this so this is just my best guess based on what I’ve heard. I definitely recommend doing some Tumblr research and try to make some friends with other people in your situation, who speak your native language and who are fluent in other languages as well. There are so many blogs on here who specialize in learning multiple languages, I definitely recommend checking them out.Good luck!

Idk man, maybe it’s because I’m not in school right now and therefore have no content but I’ve just been feeling really uninspired and not all that into this studyblr blog lately.
I recently made a bookstagram and launched my blog on Wordpress and I’m totally in my element. This studyblr and the community has been great since I started a year ago. But I haven’t felt like I’m actually *in* the community. I feel like I’m just going through the motions and it’s not as enjoyable anymore, especially now that I’m experiencing the love and passion I have behind my bookstagram and blog.
I’m not saying I’m leaving my studyblr by any means. I’m just saying maybe I need a break from it or something.
It’s basically already been happening, but I’m officially going on hiatus until August, when school starts back up for me. I’ll be at a new college in a new apartment with amazing new classes, hopefully that’ll inspire me and I won’t already have too much on my plate with my other new social platforms. Unfortunately, when it comes down to it, those will take priority over this one.
Thanks guys.

hey, i don’t know if you remember me but i was the anon from last summer that asked you for advice going into my sophomore year and i was 4th in my class... i cant describe how much the advice you gave me inspired me. i am now 3rd in my class, aced all of my classes this year, and i am now taking 2 college courses this summer in hopes to graduate with my associates degree before senior year. i cant thank you enough. to keep the tradition going, any advice for junior year ???
Oh my goodness. It means so much to me that the advice I gave you inspired you. My heart is happy and I’m so proud of what you’ve accomplished little love bug. I’ll do my best to help you out again.A lot of people say junior year is the hardest year, and I think I agree. It’s when students start taking college classes (as you have) on top of their regulars, start thinking even more and worrying about getting into colleges, and have to start considering the idea of putting in that extra effort to get valedictorian. There’s just so much pressure to do well. And we all know you can do it, it’s just a matter of physically D O I N G it and getting through it.Close your eyes and take a deep breath. It’s important to have an idea of your future, a grasp on your goals. Perhaps make a (nice) list of these goals. Do you want to be valedictorian? Put it on the list. Do you want to go to an Ivy League school, maybe a specific one? Put it on the list. Do you want to get your associates degree by the time you graduate? Put it on the list. Do you really just want to ace all of your classes again, regulars AND college ones? LIST.Utilize your same study habits, because they clearly work for you and you shouldn’t try to fix what isn’t broken, right? Stay organized. Keep ALL of your college assignments, whether your classes are online or not, because it’s best to prepare for the worst. I’m going on my 4th year in college and I just had a professor enter a paper grade in wrong, all I had to do was show her the grade and she fixed it right in front of me and apologized profusely. College professors have WAY more students to keep track of, assume that they’ll only do you favors if you approach them first. They’re not evil, they WILL help you and do you favors, you just have to initiate it because they’re very busy and get off track. It’s going to feel like you have no free time, because you’ll be busier than normal. You WILL have free time, whether that be later in the evening when you sit down to watch a tv show or read a good book or early in the morning, waking up a tad earlier to carve out 15-30 minutes to relax and breathe. Have breakfast. Make time for you, because without YOU there can be no success. By forgetting YOU in this equation is to erase the equation altogether. You’re the common denominator. Take care of yourself. I’ve started using essential oils in a diffuser because college started stressing me out and my anxiety sky-rocketed. I bought some nice body wash that smells good and use it in the shower (not that I didn’t use body wash before, but I got stuff I really like and maybe splurged a tad at Target on it). I reward myself for my accomplishments, because in the end, incentives work. If you start to feel overwhelmed and burnt out, stop. Take a break. Take that me time for 10-15 minutes, then go back to work. Breaks are crucial. Also an underrated tip: wash your bedding and pillow cases once a week or so. Clean sheets make a world of difference, and it’s one less thing to be stressing about when you climb into bed at night. Smell good, feel good. It’s easy to tell someone not to stress, but it’s inevitable. If you’re not stressing, you’re not doing it right. But you can manage the stress in healthy ways. I know you can do this. You’re obviously smart, and you obviously take advice (a surprising/annoying amount of people ignore the advice they’re given and then complain when there are no results). You might have missed it, but I recently posted that I’m on hiatus until school starts back up for me in August due to being uninspired and unmotivated by this platform. I’ve also started a new blog on my own website, with a twitter and Instagram. That’s taking up most of my time. With no school going on for me right now, I decided to go on hiatus and reevaluate where I’m at in this community and if I want to continue to be a part of it.Despite that, I decided to reply to your ask because you’re inspiring and I’m really SO proud of you. And there’s not a doubt in my mind that you’ll continue to be amazing and inspiring. You’ve got this, darling, and if you need anything else from me I am open to you. Send me more ANON asks or private message me. I won’t be active posting on this account, but I’ll reply to you. Sending all my love and good luck during your junior year little rainbow fish xoxo

I ALSO MADE MY OWN WEBSITE OF FORMEOSDNEIWKWMSJS.
There’s only 1 post on there right now, but it’s dreaminginpaperbacks.wordpress.com (I think??)
Once I get more posts up on there I’ll link it here for people. I’m so excited you guys. For real.
I Made A Bookgram!!!
It’s still new, so bare with me. But I made a bookgram, since I literally spend all of my time reading!
@dreaming.in.paperbacks
Go give me a follow on Instagram, lovely dumplings. I’ll follow you back!
I’m currently at work and didn’t expect to take this step today, so I don’t have any content prepared to post. And I’m not entirely sure what my aesthetic will be yet. I may try to figure that out tonight. Take some pictures, then edit + post them tomorrow.
Follow me and shoot me a message on here or on Instagram so I know you’re a Tumblr baby and I’ll follow you back on either my bookgram or my personal!

I have a list of husbands okayAqua (my initials): H.M.G Violet (pastel or dark colors): definitely pastel when it comes to things like office/school supplies and my home. Sorry I haven’t been very studyblr-y this summer you guys. I’m taking an online Spanish class but to be quite honest it’s not very challenging or demanding so I don’t have anything to say or content to post about it.
Life update: I’ve been feeling pretty crappy, so I’m going to try to cut out dairy and see what happens. I’ve been having trouble losing weight since I started working out this summer, and I know it’s due to my PCOS. Which sucks because I can’t do anything about that.
So, solution was to look up diets for women with PCOS. Dairy makes it worse, so I’m cutting it out. Maybe it’ll make me feel better too because I won’t be so bloated all the time. I didn’t have any yesterday and I felt better than normal.
Anyway, sorry for the ramble. Does anyone want me to post about the books I’ve been reading or my health journey I’m currently on until I actually have some studyblr content to post?
Until then, I’ll probably just post whatever I feel like it at random intervals. Apologies. I guess this is an unofficial hiatus for the summer, with random updates.
PS - I didn’t buy this book but I wanted to. I went to B&N today and didn’t buy a single book. Feeling proud. *ignores the face that I just bought 6+ books off amazon last week*
